Unmei Force Shattered Heroes: Creative Power
Final Chapter: The Decisive Assault
The group began to fly across the skies at hurtling speeds, as they could see the airship Fyskir before them, as they landed on the front deck of the flying ship, as Boki bounced across the ground a few times from a faulty landing, as Popol rushed over to catch her, and put her back on the ground on her two feet.
"Thanks, Popol." Boki told Popol, who nodded back with a thumbs-up, before she then looked around. "Well, we made it, but it doesn't look like there's any Constructs around…"
"They must have let their guard down, since they didn't expect all of you to fly here." Savant answered back. "However, I've detected that the interior of the ship is radio-shielded. This will be the last time we can talk, you three. Can you handle the rest of the mission on your own?"
"I… I think? This is pretty scary, but I can handle things now, since I have Heiwa and Popol with me." Boki asked back with some worry and hesitation in her voice, before she then swallowed her fear to gain some confidence, as her eyes steeled to show her resolve. "We're going to take care of the big bad and save the people in this world!"
"Couldn't be said better!" Popol exclaimed. "You don't need to worry about us, Heiwa and I have handled far worse in our time before we came here, so you can be safe knowing that your niece is in our protection and aid!"
"We're going to get through all of this together!" Heiwa declared, as she embraced both Popol and Boki with a beaming smile on her face. "I know that with the three of us together, nothing will be able to stop us from being great heroes!"
Boki and Popol chuckled slightly at Heiwa's innocent confidence, as the group then entered through a large hatch on the deck, as they plummeted into the dark depths of the ship, as Boki's body created some radiance from her crystals to allow the group some light to see their surroundings.
The group went through a series of corridors, finding only the minimal concentration of enemies, as the group stealthily destroyed them, before they reached the end of the corridor, where they found a large service lift that they moved onto.
"ATTENTION ALL UNITS. THERE SEEMS TO BE SOME DAMAGE IN SECTOR 1. GIVE ME A STATUS REPORT IMMEDIATELY!" The leader of the Constructs remarked, as the group listened to the voice.
"Yeah, they're definitely here." Popol stated, before a recon drone spawned before the group, as it noticed them. "...Well, crap."
Suddenly, the entire ship went on alert, as alarm sirens were beginning to sound, as warning lights were flashing, and the entire ship powered on, with lights shining all around the group.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE ENTANMAS ON BOARD!?" The leader screamed with anger, as it shook the entire ship, even from where the group were. "WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME EARLIER!?"
"This stupid thing's a camera, right? I know you can hear me!" Boki remarked, as she approached the drone, before she then pointed at it with a defiant pose. "You're NOT getting away this time! And I'm taking down this entire ship too!"
"I hope you're prepared, because round 2 is not going to go the same way it did last time!" Popol snarled, as he raised his spear. "Now that it's our turn to ambush you, you're going to regret throwing Heiwa and me in prison!"
He then pierced the drone right through the lens with his spear, as it sputtered onto the ground, and exploded. The group quickly used the service elevator, as they began to head down into the lower levels of the ship, in search for key sections of the ship to destroy.
The group descended into a hangar bay, as they encountered red missile-like drones that tried to ram the group with their bodies, as they were fairly predictable to dodge. Boki then used a mix of Lightning, Tornado and Split to create thousands of lightning needles that saturated entire rooms of the area with projectiles, making short work of the enemies, as they proceeded through a door, which Popol smashed down with his spear.
"I think this is working so far, but is there anywhere specific I should be heading, meow?" Boki asked, expecting a response from Savant, only to get none. "Hm, I guess the radio really did get jammed. Whatever, this whole ship's one big Construct anyway. It must have a weak point somewhere!"
"I suggest going for the engines, I bet stopping it dead cold in the air will make it crash into the ground." Popol suggested. "If not, go find some energy cores to blow up, and maybe the ship will lose power, or even explode as a result of the damage."
"Speaking of which, there's a strong energy here! I can feel it!" Heiwa exclaimed.
The group began to follow Heiwa, who instinctively seeked the power source, as they destroyed the enemies in the way, before they managed to find a large energy core before them, which seemed to be a many-faced shape before them, as it summoned barriers around it, before firing laser beams from the holes in its barriers. The group began to hammer the core, attacking from the gaps in its shielding, while Popol dive-attacked through the core multiple times, before Popol then charged up his energy to make his spear glow, before smashing right through the core, breaching the core, as it began to explode, along with the rest of the ship sector.
As the group managed to evade the closing gates behind them, they heard a large booming explosion behind them, indicating the destruction of a part of the airship.
"ONE OF OUR MAIN ENGINES HAVE FAILED!" The leader cried. "DEFEND THE OTHER CORES, YOU USELESS MACHINES! ALL TROOPS MOBILIZE TO SECTOR 2!"
The group moved their way to the next area within the airship, as it was the cargo hold section, filled with a dense amount of enemies, including shielded drones that needed to have their shields smashed against walls to even damage them, as the group wreaked havoc through the area, as Heiwa managed to acquire Lightning, Split and Explode to allow her to fire off large fireballs that exploded like cluster grenades to clear the area of enemies very quickly.
The group then made it to the next sector holding an energy core, as they found that the path to it was guarded by robot turrets that the group had to destroy the pilots of, evading the cannon-fire that the turrets used, as they even turned the turrets against the enemies in the area, before they managed to find the energy core, guarded by a slew of turrets, as the core itself was summoning shields to its defense, and firing lasers to try and scorch the group.
One by one, the trio destroyed the turrets, as they left one for Heiwa to pilot, as she used it to bombard the core, firing cannon shots directly at it through the gaps in its shield, before she then overcharged the robot using her flames, as she fired a massive cannon shot that hit the core, blowing it up, as the entire area began to explode as well, causing the group to flee upwards, where the ship's command bridge was.
"WORTHLESS WORTHLESS WORTHLESS! ALL CONSTRUCTS ARE COMPLETELY WORTHLESS!" The leader screamed with rage. "IF YOU ALLOW THIS SHIP TO GO DOWN, I WILL PERSONALLY DESTROY ANY OF YOU THAT SURVIVE! KILL THOSE ENTANMAS!"
"Looks like they're at the limit of their patience." Popol remarked. "...Doesn't matter, that's payback!"
The group then reached the munitions depot, as it was filled with enemies that use explosive weaponry, as the group managed to collect some power-ups from a black variant of the missile drones, which allowed them to fire missiles of their own around the area, as it helped clear both the debris and enemies ahead to reach the control tower at the ship's bridge.
They cleared their way to the control tower quickly, as they found the last energy core of the ship on the top of the tower, as Boki began to destroy the missile drones that were being constantly called for back-up to protect the core, as she used the missile power-ups they dropped in order to launch barrage of missiles against the core, as it finally exploded into pieces, as the pieces began to absorb energy around them, with an ominous glow around it, as not only the sector was beginning to explode, but the entire ship as well.
"Looks like we managed to damage this ship hard!" Heiwa remarked. "...I guess there's only one thing to do… RUN!"
The group began to dash frantically through the ship's interior, looking for an exit out of the ship, as doors began to close around them, to quarantine the damaged areas of the ship, as they had to make alternate paths by destroyed weakened sections of the ship's walls, before they managed to find their way through a large pile of debris covering a massive hole in the ship's hull, created by the prior explosion of a energy core.
The group then leapt through the hall, just as the last energy core exploded violently, destroying the entire command tower and bridge, as the airship was left free-falling towards the ground, as did the entire group.
"Popol! Boki! Hold my hands!" Heiwa shouted, as she reached her hands out.
Popol and Boki quickly complied, as they grabbed Heiwa's hands, while the kitsune cranked her flight powers to the maximum power, in order to counteract the gravity of their fall, by flying upwards as hard as she could, as their uncontrolled fall was turned into a still quick but stable fall towards the ground, as they watched as the airship exploded once again on hitting the ground, leaving behind the torn wreck of the enormous air vehicle.
When they hit the ground, they could only see the ground ahead of them, as the air was covered by the dark smoke of the wreckage, which made the sky look an ominous gray.
"...I guess that's it. Pretty sure that leader must have blown up with the ship." Boki remarked.
"I hope so, but if they didn't… well then, all the more to finish the job properly. A hunter got to be certain of their kills after all." Popol smirked with feral intent.
Suddenly, the group were alerted by the sound of rumbling metal, as a pile of debris was shaken free, as it was revealed to be some sort of robot with lights that flashes green, red, and blue, with a central hexagonal core lodged in it with energy pipes flowing across their body.
"YOU…" The machine spoke with venom in its synthesized voice, as it began to stomp towards the group menacingly, quaking the group with each step. "YOU DESTROYED MY FACTORY… YOU DESTROYED MY SHIP…"
The leader of the Constructs then revealed itself, as it was a far larger and superior version of the bipedal robots that the group fought hordes of, as it was completely yellow, with clawed hands, and lights along the side of its limbs, as well as having a horned helmet.
"So we finally met for real this time." Popol sneered back.
"WE CONSTRUCTS ARE MADE FOR A SINGULAR PURPOSE." The leader declared. "I WAS CREATED TO BE A LEADER. AND I HAVE NO MORE FORCES TO LEAD. CONSTRUCTS TRULY ARE WORTHLESS BEINGS."
The leader then smashed a fist against the ground, as it created several cracks on it. "YOU TOOK AWAY MY PURPOSE!" The leader roared. "MY ORDERS WERE TO CAPTURE ALL OF YOU!"
The leader then rose up, before pointing a finger at the group. "...BUT I'D RATHER KILL YOU, BOKI LAMIRA, AND YOUR BAND OF FERAL MISFITS." The leader spoke with a cold cruel tone.
"You're welcome to try, you over-shined piece of scrap metal!" Popol retorted back, as he readied his spear, while Heiwa readied her brush, as Boki absorbed the residual power from the enemy leader, which gave her a three-toned glow to herself as well.
Generals of the Constructs
Supreme Thremnat
The enemy leader began to attack the group, as he fired large energy blasts from its hands, and charging towards the group, before leaping and slamming the ground, creating a rain of energy bolts that came from both the air and ground, and even throwing energy bombs that exploded into vertical pillars of energy.
The group tried to attack the machine, as their attacks did manage to land, with Boki firing the same energy blasts back. However, their attacks were doing little damage to the leader itself, as he shrugged their attacks off like nothing.
Popol tried to charge the leader itself with a powerful thrust, before the leader merely countered the charge with his own, seizing Popol by the neck, and squeezing tightly enough to make him cry in pain and make his bones creak from the stress.
"Popol! Let him go, you monster!" Heiwa exclaimed, as she tried to fire powerful bursts of fire at the leader, who was merely unfazed, before he then jumped and slammed Popol right into the ground, before then tossing him right into Heiwa, causing them to be both knocked down.
Boki was left fighting alone for a while, as both Heiwa and Popol were dazed heavily from the attack, as she grazed a few energy blasts from the enemy leader, before firing back, as the attack glanced off him.
"SUCH NUISANCES. IS THIS THE EXTENT OF YOUR POWERS?" The enemy leader mocked them, as Heiwa and Popol recovered in time, to see the leader erect a energy shield around him.
Boki, Popol and Heiwa tried to break the shield with all of their power, although their attacks merely bounced off the shield, making their previous effort seem entirely in vain, as the enemy leader began to wear them down with his attacks, before the trio were exhausted before the leader.
"I HAVE SEEN ENOUGH!" The leader declared, before raising an arm, as it began to charge energy. "GOODBYE, PATHETIC IMITATOR AND PUNY PARASITES."
The group immediately braced for the attack, as Heiwa and Popol moved to shield Boki themselves. However, the duo were surprised, when Boki leapt over them, with a confident expression on her face, just as the machine fired his beam of energy at them.
Popol and Heiwa guarded in anticipation of the incoming attack, only to find that Boki was guarding against it, as a shield of her own formed around the group, as the residues of the beam's energy began to flow into the group, as Heiwa's brush and Popol's spear began to gain the same three-coloured glow to their weapons.
"Your shield's pretty good. I should have thought of this earlier!" Boki remarked, before pointing a finger at the enemy leader, who was unnerved at the turn of events. "Now, I'll show you what I… no, what WE can really do!"
The leader was then attacked by Boki who rammed into his shield, before slamming the ground in a replica of the leader's own slamming attack, as it broke his shield. In succession, Heiwa fired off a barrage of fire-balls at the enemy leader, as the flames that burned with blue, green and pink hues hit the nemey leader causing him to flinch, before Popol followed up, using his spear to launch a series of powerful swings that left being energy trails that cut into the leader's armor.
The group began to turn the tables on the enemy leader, as his armor began to dent and crack under the stress of the repeated assault, as the lights on his armor turned to a warning yellow and angry red as a result of the sustained damage. He then put up his shield one last time to try and defend the attack. However, it was easily broken by Boki, as the trio moved in for a final all-out assault.
However, before Boki could launch her slam attack, the leader then grabbed Boki by the neck, before tossing him right into Heiwa with full force, sending the both flying across the ground, sliding a few feet when landing, while kicking Popol against a large piece of the airship debris, as the leader began to sag.
"YOU… YOU WON'T DESTROY ME LIKE THE OTHER CONSTRUCTS…' The leader remarked, as smoke poured from his damaged body. "I REFUSE TO BE ANOTHER WORTHLESS MINION. I WILL DEFEAT YOU!"
The group watched as the leader flew atop of the airship wreck, before he then initiated combination himself, as the pieces of the airship began to merge with him, as they saw that it created a massive battle-body for the desperate machine, as it used the thrusters of the ship as makeshift weapons, sprouting blades of energy from them, while his original body was fused with the large machine, with the energy core spreading its energy pipes across the entire machine like veins, as the core was then protected by a large shield.
The trio rose to their feet, as they readied their weapons, as Boki changed her weapon to a large green saber like the ones that the machine were using. The group began to counter the machine's attacks, as it began to slash its sabers at the group, and firing lasers at the group. The hands of the large machine kept on protecting the core of the machine and the leader, so the group slowly destroyed the hands, before they attacked the shield, which repelled them, although it turned a warning yellow as a result of the damage.
The leader then constructed a new pair of hands to protect itself, as it then began to fire lasers more aggressively than before, as it even teleported into the air to launch aerial bombardment on the group using the lasers. Popol managed to parry a slash with his own spear, before he then destroyed with a counter thrust, while Boki destroyed the other one, as Heiwa fired off a burst of radiant fire that hit the shield and damaged it heavily, turning it red.
The leader, in an final attempt to stop the group, summoned four hands instead of two, as it began to use the extra weapons to his advantage, using them to try and skewer the group with them, or trap them with laser shots, although the group managed to destroy the limbs one by one, even deflecting the energy blasts that they fired at the group rapidly.
The group then ran up to the shielded core, which was vulnerable for attack, as Boki slashed at the shield with her blade, which grew powerful enough to damage it severely, as Popol then repeatedly thrusted at the shield, causing cracks to appear on it, before Heiwa and Popol fired a dual stream of energy blasts that hit the shield, causing it to crack even further. Boki then slammed the shield with a powerful strike breaking it, before she then leapt back, charging energy, as the group assisted her.
The trio then fired off a massive beam of energy that engulfed the entire machine, as it was vaporized into nothing, as the pieces of the enemy leader clattered onto ground, becoming nothing but golden pieces of metal.
Boki then looked towards Popol and Heiwa, before the three of them let out a collective cry of victory together.
"YEAH!" The three of them shouted.
Boki turned towards Popol and Heiwa, as she smiled with gratitude. "...Hey, I guess this might be where we may part… But before I go… Thanks for helping me along the way. Now that I know how powerful my powers can be… I think that I can go out and be a real hero. If we meet again.. Do you think that you'd be happy to have me along your side?" She asked them.
"How could I say no? After all of that, I think that we definitely have made a bond with each other." Popol grinned back. "I hope that you'll become a great hero wherever you are. We'll do our best to even find you and your uncle as well."
"Besides, I think that you'll be glad to meet some more of our friends, including my brother himself! He'd be glad to have you working alongside him! He's a really nice person!" Heiwa remarked with excitement.
"Thanks, Heiwa and Popol. Let's meet together in the near future. See ya, meow!" Boki remarked, as she waved goodbye to the duo, as she disappeared from the area in fading pixels of light.
Popol and Heiwa looked at the burning landscape around them, as they collapsed to the ground, finally exhausted from all of the fighting they have done since they set foot in the simulation.
"I think that compared to the ones that Siege had me go through, this is fairly tougher. But it was also fun as well." Popol admitted. "I think that we might actually get either Siege or Richard to buy a copy of these simulations. They might help the other people get stronger by fighting through it."
"Yeah, Chen and the other friends might like me as much as we did! I mean, imagine all we have done here! We managed to cause so much destruction with such great powers." Heiwa gushed out. "It's like being a invincible hero and actually feeling like it when you're fighting against all of this robots, including that big castle golem!"
Popol looked towards Heiwa, who clammed up with a embarrassed expression, before he then laughed heartily, while Heiwa joined in.
"I'm glad that you enjoyed this little game." They heard Richard's voice, causing them to shoot up on their feet, looking for him. "...Oh, I should show myself. After all, you deserve it after going through everything so perfectly."
They then watched as a ethereal version of Richard, who was dressed in an artist's smock that was stained with various colors, as well as a pair of brown jeans and leather boots, as well as having a soft artist's beret on his head.
"Brother… are you… you look fairly strange…" Heiwa stated, confused at her brother's appearance.
"Oh, my dear little sister, it would be confusing to see me wearing the attire of a role I am unlikely to partake in, right?" The fragment of Richard laughed with gentle amusement. "But then again, a man's creativity usually takes the form of a person who partakes in the arts. An artist is a common representation."
"Creativity…?" Popol asked back.
"Now, many people don't think that creativity is an essential part of one's being." Richard's fragment continued, tapping the side of his head. "...And they'd be right, in the common case. However, for someone like me, who exists to grow stronger through various means, creativity is a part of my own being as my emotions, both good and bad. It's that creativity that spurred me in Gensokyo to weave my own Spell Cards, to make my own arts, to take inspiration from all of the teachings from my various mentors, to create my own way of life. Even now, my mind racks with ideas to help develop my own powers, and to teach you ways to unlock your own potentials as well."
"I… see… Will you come back with us, though? Brother, the one that you left behind… needs you back to continue living." Heiwa answered back.
'"My poor sister, you care so dearly for me." The fragment answered back with a slightly apologetic tone, as his sunny attitude wavered slightly. "After everything you and your dear little partner had gone through, how could I say no and make you feel so terrible. In fact, after how you made me proud with how you adapted to the rules of this world, I truly can't reject the offer. To even sweeten the deal, I even brought a gift that he can make use of, once we're all back together."
The fragment then created a replica of the same blade that the Arikans were using, except it seemed to be real in the hands of Heiwa and Popol, and much more refined.
"There will be a time where Divine Will will not be able to keep him fighting much longer. Not because the blade is going to become worthless to him, but because his evolution will require a weapon more attuned to him." The fragment explained. "But for now… let's not give it to him yet. He… Well, put it simply, he's going to need time to compose himself, and giving him a weapon like that… might end a tad bit poorly. So for the sake of your brother, let's keep it a secret between the three of us, okay?"
"It's a deal." Popol answered back. "So…"
"Oh right, you must be in a hurry. Well then, hopping aboard now!" The fragment answered back, before he then coalesced into a green light that Heiwa held in her hands, as she held it tightly.
The duo found themselves being dragged out of the simulation, as Heiwa could only sigh, at the fact that she was leaving such a nice world, although she was comforted by the fact that she will soon be able to return to it, with new friends, and that she felt that the adventure with Popol allowed the two of them to become even closer together, as she thought back to how Popol expressed his affection for her, which made her feel warm inside.
As for Popol, he felt the same way, as the experience strengthened his resolve to stand by Heiwa's side, and become her beloved and her guardian against all of the terrors of the multiverse that lie ahead in the unknown future.
