Izuku grimaced as he poked at the slop on his tray with a fork, he swore that he had heard the thing growl at him.
Today was the day, the day that he and everybody else broke out. Unfortunately not every last inmate would make it out, there were still a lot of other prisoners in the facility, and it'd be too risky to try and save everyone.
At the very least, all of the people in his meal group might get their freedom back.
Yuki tugged on his sleeve, breaking him from his stupor, "Daddy, are you Ok?"
"Yeah, I'm fine, just a bit distra-" Izuku was cut off as Āto slammed down on the unoccupied seat next to him.
"Hey," Āto greeted in a rushed tone, "You ready for today?"
"Yeah. I'm ready," Izuku sighed.
"Dad, what's goin' on?" Chihaya asked.
"I can't tell you, but I want you all to go with Āto. Stay with him until I come to get you," Izuku commanded. Āto nodded before he stood up and motioned for the girls to follow him, which they reluctantly did.
As his daughters and their temporary protector filed out, the final four inmates in the group sat down in their place.
First was the sole female of the group, Aidoru, her quirk was called: Beautiful Voice, by singing, anyone she deems an ally will gain many buffs to their strength, speed, or durability, as well as the ability to heal them from wounds. And anyone she deems an enemy can be hypnotized to do her bidding.
Next was Hoshoku, his quirk was a mutation type called: Shark, it gave him all of the properties of a shark, enhanced speed when swimming, the ability to breathe underwater, razor-sharp teeth, and a lust for raw fish. Thankfully, he was still part human, so although he had the dorsal fins, and skin tone of a shark, he still had a mostly humanoid body, and he could stand still without dying, so that was a plus.
Then was a buff man, mid-forties, short white hair and a beard of the same color, his name was Saiko, and his quirk was Psychokinetic Shockwave, it allowed him to blast waves of psychokinetic energy from the palms of his hands, unfortunately, this has repercussions, every blast gives him a headache, although small, it can easily build up and become debilitating.
Finally was Dōkan, his quirk was called: Drain, he could drain from the elements around him and use them to his advantage, things like fire or electricity can be amplified through the body, making them ten times more potent, and sent back out like a bullet, while things like stone or metal transmute his body into a monstrosity of that element, increasing his durability, strength, and decreasing his speed, he can't stay transmuted forever though, he has a time limit before he returns to normal, additionally, he only gets one shot with elements like fire. The bigger the source, the longer the duration or the more powerful the blast.
"So, is Yūrei in position?" Aidoru quietly asked with her head down.
Dōkan nodded and gestured to a man with brown hair that was slicked down over his eye, a gloomy air surrounded him.
"And does everybody remember the rule about this operation?" Saiko asked.
"No matter what, get the girls out," They all said in unison.
"Hey! Inmates, what are you whispering about?" A guard yelled, slamming his hand down onto the metallic table.
Dōkan snarled before he placed his hand to the table, it began to seemingly melt into his fingers and crept up his arm slowly, without warning the entire table got sucked up into his body, turning his skin a shiny silver, and causing the five of them to fall to the ground.
Āto corralled the girls into the kitchen and pulled two inky blades from his forearms and taking up position at the door, and Yūrei sank into the wall behind him.
"THE INMATES ARE ATTEMPTING A RIOT, EVERYBODY OPEN FIRE, SHOOT TO KILL PERMISSION IS NOT GRANTED!" The lead guard shouted out.
"Did you have to take the table that we were sitting at?" Hoshoku groaned, flipping a table over for cover.
"Sorry," Dōkan apologized while crushing the skull of the closest guard like it was a tin can.
The male members of the party felt pure power course through their veins as Aidoru began to vocalize.
"Dōkan! Drain from that light and blind 'em, Saiko, on my command, use a shockwave on the table, I have a pla-AAHH!" Izuku was cut off due to a shock from the chip that forced him to a kneeling position.
Without warning, the singing of Aidoru stopped, instead being replaced with the sound of screaming. The rest of them began to fall to the ground one by one as the chips in their neck immobilized them.
"MOVE IN!" the lead guard yelled to his subordinates.
Izuku let out a guttural scream, willing himself up to his feet, he reached a hand up to his neck and began thumbing at the place where the implant was, the Rage user let out a second scream as he dug his fingers into his neck and yanked out the chip, stopping the shocking.
The other's screaming faded and they too stood back, confused as to what had happened.
The speaker system screeched to life, "You know, you wouldn't have had to do that if you had just waited a few more seconds,' Yūrei said.
"Dōkan!" Izuku yelled.
"On it," the metal disappeared from the Drain user's body and the light fixture above them went out, the light getting sucked into his open palm. Dōkan peaked out from around the table and outstretched his arm and a bright flash momentarily blinded the guards.
Izuku channeled a small bit of rage and flipped the table up into the air, from there Saiko blasted it forward, crushing half of the guards.
Hoshoku took advantage of the guards' stupor and rushed forward, taking a bite out of a guard's head.
Dōkan sucked up another table and charged into the fray with a rage-fueled Izuku, all of the bullets that were fired at them bouncing off harmlessly.
It wasn't long before every last one of the guards lay dead on the floor.
"Everyone, get to the kitchen," Izuku ordered.
The group barreled through the kitchen doors and saw four things; a pile of inky weapons, another pile of dead guards, Izuku's daughters cowering in the corner, and Āto, panting heavily with half a guitar in his hand.
"What the hell happened in here?" Hoshoku asked.
"I went heavy metal," Āto answered.
"Not the time for dumb jokes. Chihaya," the dragon girl came right up to her father's side at his call, "I know that this is gonna sound strange, but I need you to shock Dōkan."
'"Kay," Chihaya turned to the rotund man and let a bolt of lightning fly out of her mouth and hit him.
"This isn't enough," Dōkan said.
"You're gonna have to make it work," Izuku barked.
The cafeteria doors busted open and a couple of dozen guards poured into the room.
"OPEN FIRE!"
"GET DOWN!"
Bullets flew through the kitchen door and the serving window.
"We're pinned down, what do we do?!" Āto shouted over the gunfire.
Without warning, green vines began to shoot up from the ground and pierced the roof, covering the serving window, they began to release sap that rapidly crystallized around the vines and formed a shield. Stone began to pile up in front of the door, creating another barrier between them and the guards.
Yuki and Yuka then fell onto the ground from overuse of their quirks, Hoshoku picked them both up and put them over his shoulder
"We're screwed dude, we're screwed!" Dōkan panickedly paced around the kitchen, "I can't unlock that door, I don't have enough electricity!"
Dōkan's frightened lamentations were stopped by Chihaya hitting him with a steady stream of lightning, small amounts of static running over his body.
"Oh, this is... invigorating," Dōkan grinned as he redirected the lighting over to the control panel for the large metal door.
It took a few seconds but the panel sparked and deactivated, unlocking the door and sliding it open.
Chihaya stopped the stream of electricity...then passed out due to quirk exhaustion, Izuku cradled her in his arms as he commanded everybody to run.
Aidoru grabbed Sayori, and Āto snatched up Eri, the group sprinted as fast as they could down the dimly lit tunnel, rapidly approaching the sound of whipping wind,
and running straight into the trap set by the prison.
"Well, I'd have to argue that this is the most successful break-out attempt ever. Actually, the only break out attempt," the German doctor called out over the wind.
"On the ground," one of the eleven guards yelled.
Izuku and the rest of them begrudgingly complied, after all, they weren't the ones with the guns.
Although there was something strange about one of the guards, he was standing too rigid, and his eyes looked mirthy.
So, there they kneeled, a group of ragtag nobodies at the mercy of an organization hell-bent on keeping them trapped under the guise of protecting society from them, and the sun had only just begun to rise.
That guard suddenly turned on his heel and fired at his comrades, killing them in the blink of an eye, he then put his gun up to his chin, and Yūrei ejected himself from the guard's body just before he shot himself.
Yūrei's quirk was known as Ghost, he could walk through walls, disappear, and fly, he was much more unique than the other guys, another one of his powers just so happened to be possession, as well and a cryo beam that he could fire from his palms if the situation called for it.
The German turned around in surprise, giving Izuku an opportunity to lay a punch across his face, knocking off his glasses and sending him careening to the ground.
"Give me the override chip for my arm," Izuku commanded.
"I don't have it," the German lied, earning himself a broken leg.
"Give. Me. The chip," Izuku seethed out once more.
"Fine," the doctor pulled a small device out of his lab coat and tossed it to Izuku, he caught it with his right hand and plugged it into his left, veins of red light began to spread up his arm, before flashing green.
"Solomon safety measures offline," an automated voice said.
Izuku smirked before he kicked the scientist unconscious, and tired back to his group.
"Let's go and enjoy our freedom."
"This isn't my ideal version of freedom," Dōkan groaned as he tripped over yet another root.
"Come on, we're almost there," Izuku said encouragingly.
"Yeah, where are we going exactly?" Hoshoku asked.
Izuku didn't answer, instead moving a branch out of the way to reveal a jagged cliff that hung over a crystal clear lake.
"We need to get ourselves clean, if they have people with tracking quirks we can't risk them getting our scent. Aidoru, take the girls, it shouldn't be too far to the base of the lake."
Aidoru motioned for the girls to follow her as the others began to remove their jumpsuits.
"Hey, wanna see who has the best cannonball?" Āto jokingly asked.
"Way ahead of you," yelled Hoshoku as he jumped off of the cliff.
One by one the group began to jump down into the water, Izuku going last and having the arguably biggest splash.
"What's with that smile on your face, son?" Saiko questioned Izuku before he dunked his head underwater.
"It's stupid, don't worry about it," Izuku answered.
Hoshoku popped back out of the water with a gray fish in his mouth, he threw it skyward and swallowed it whole once it landed back in his mouth, "Come on man, ain't no harm in telling us, we're your prison riot pals."
"Don't ever refer to us like that again," Izuku pleaded, he went silent for a beat before sighing, "Fine, I'll tell you. This is where I touched my first pair of breasts."
"Holy shit...you're blushing!" Dōkan laughed.
"I am not."
"Entertain us with the story why don't you?" Yūrei asked in a bored tone.
"Alright, I was thirteen and me and a few...friends were playing some game here, I had my eyes closed and I was meant to find them based on sound. I heard one of them behind me and I turned around to catch her, unfortunately, my hand landed in one of her breasts. She assured me that it was alright but I didn't stop apologizing for two weeks," Izuku chuckled.
The group laughed at his somewhat stifled embarrassment, they stayed in the lake for about another hour before Izuku got up and dragged a janky looking wooden box out of a bush.
"Towels," the Rage user preemptively answered.
Each of them took a towel and then Hoshoku took the remaining to the girls on the other side of the cliff.
"Everyone, once we get our jumpsuits back on, there is something I need to show you," Yūrei whispered.
"So, what did you want to show us?" Izuku asked. Everyone was currently gathered on the cliff, judging by where the sun was it was around four o'clock.
"I didn't just deactivate our implants and prevent reinforcements back there, I also snuck into the warden's office," Yūrei admitted.
"What were you thinking?"
"Do you have some kind of death wish?"
"Are you insane?"
"I know, I know. But I grabbed this," Yūrei pulled a folded piece of paper from his jumpsuit, "It's a letter, not yet sent, the only problem is that it's written in French."
"I can read it," Aidoru offered.
"You can read French?" Hoshoku skeptically asked.
"Anyone who wants to have a lucrative singing career must be able to understand at least two languages," Aidoru answered as she snatched the letter from Yūrei and unfolded it.
"Dear Mr. Wickham, it shall please you to know that your task force is very close to being ready. We have had a few small complications with one of the inmates but it is nothing we can't handle. I shall be sending you a detailed letter about their quirks shortly after this one. I must warn you, it would be wise to not separate the young ones from the green-haired one, he gets rather angry when someone takes his daughters and I assure you, you don't want that to happen. With regards, Warden Fusei."
"We're so blind," Izuku seethed.
"What do you mean?"
"They gave me a metal arm for Christ's sake, they put us through rigorous tests and taught us how to fight. They didn't want to want to protect the world from us, they wanted to sell us off to the highest bidder as a private army," Izuku yelled.
The group went silent, half an hour before Saiko spoke up, "So what do we do now?"
"We split up. We can't risk them finding us all at once," Āto answered.
"This is where we part ways then," Izuku said as he stood up, his daughter following shortly behind, "I wish you all the best, goodbye. Girls, we'll be going now."
With that, the six of them left, giving a wave to the group that helped them gain their freedom.
The sun was almost down and the make-shift family was walking on a familiar trail.
Most of the girls were asleep, meaning Izuku had to carry them, Eri was cradled in his arms, Chihaya latched onto his back, and the twins were wrapped around both of his legs like koalas, while Sayori walked diligently behind him.
"Are we close, Father?" Sayori politely questioned.
"Yep, take a left, and watch your step," Izuku warned.
The Rage user led his daughter through the trees and into a clearing, where he set the rest of his children down, before walking to the middle of it and yanking a metal chain attached to a wooden door.
Izuku landed inside his old hideout with a grunt, he then turned around and caught his daughters one by one as they jumped down to meet him.
"I don't know who you are but I don't have any money," a familiar voice said from behind Izuku.
"Get ou-"
"AH, GHOST!"
A flashlight collided with Izuku's forehead, causing a thunking sound to resonate throughout the underground space.
Izuku snarled at the unknown man, lanky frame, an oval-shaped face, and long black hair that parted down the middle.
"Yubi?"
"You're not a ghost, ok um. How are you alive?" Yubi asked.
"What are you talking about?" Izuku asked back.
"Well when you didn't show up for a week straight, we all just kind of assumed that you…" Yubi paused and averted his gaze to Izuku's daughters, before leaning in close and whispering, "Killed yourself."
Izuku froze, dumbfounded. What does he say to that?
"Dude you should have seen it, Tokage, Jirou, and Uraraka beat Katsuki to a bloody pulp when you didn't come to school the first day," Yubi laughed.
Izuku shook his head in order to regain his bearings, before he grabbed Yubi by the shoulder, "You need to leave."
"But I just got here," Yubi argued.
Izuku dragged him over to the entrance hole and jumped out of it with ease, "I'm doing this for your protection, Yubi, you'll thank me later."
"Wait, do you have a plan here?" Yubi asked as he tore himself away from Izuku's grasp.
"What are you on about now?"
"Look, dude, I don't know what happened to you, or what you've been doing, or how you ended up with those girls, but you don't have anything to eat or drink, proper clothes, and you barely have a place to sleep. You're not prepared for this at all," the black-haired boy answered.
"And what do you suggest I do?" asked Izuku, a small amount of rage lacing his tone.
"Wait here," Yubi ran off into the woods.
It was another hour before he returned, a large card box in each hand, wrapped in his fingers, "My dad was in the army and he brought home a bunch of these MREs, and I mean a lot, I also have fifty dollars cash, tomorrow take those kids to an outlet store and get some better clothes."
Izuku skeptically took both of the gifts and set them behind him, he then spun around and stared at Yubi, "Why the hell are you helping me, you never liked me."
"I feel bad, alright? I was such a dick to you in the past and you seem like you're in some deep shit right now, so consider this me trying to repent for how awful I've been," Yubi waved goodbye and began his trek back home.
That night, for the first time ever, Izuku and his daughters had a nice dinner gathered around a warm fire before they went to bed...
Where all of the girls tried to sleep in the same hammock as him, resulting in it falling to the ground in the middle of the night.
Hey y'all, Aidan here, I'm on writing support right now, no reason, just felt like it. The next two chapters are gonna be just fluff chapters where nothing important happens so I hope you look forward to that. That's it for now, Peace.
