3 days after the escape

Izuku swiftly peaked his head out from an alley. He looked right, then left, and once he deemed it safe to do so, motioned for his daughters to follow him.

Their father had instructed them to move quickly and with their heads down towards the ground. It was the dead of night, so the sidewalks were pretty bare. But unfortunately, the streets weren't quite so empty; plus there was the risk of bumping into a hero.

Under any normal circumstances, a hero would've been the first thing Izuku ran to. But heroes were technically a branch of the government, and that was exactly what they were avoiding.

It didn't take them too long to get to the thrift store; Izuku simply hoped that the money Yubi gave them would be enough for all of them.

The woman behind the counter looked at him like he had a third eye, which admittedly wasn't an unjustified look. An eighteen year old boy and five little girls, all dressed up in dusty grey jumpsuits, wasn't exactly an average sight.

"Alright, go find something to wear; I'll wait here for you," Izuku said as he took a seat on a bench pressed up to the wall.

Chihaya came back to him first, wearing a light blue shirt under a small leather jacket, with a pair of dark blue and white running shoes.

"Please, try not to throw me over a lake in these clothes," Chihaya pleaded.

Izuku chuckled and ruffled the little girl's coffee-colored hair.

"Dad, are we gonna be walking for much longer?" the scaled girl griped.

"I offered to carry you," Izuku reminded her.

"I know but...Where are we going anyway?" Chihaya asked.

"Here." he pushed aside a few bushes and stepped onto the cliff, overlooking the lake.

"The place where we shower; why would we be here?" she asked, peaking her head over the stone ledge to look out over the crystal blue water.

"I'm going to be training you and your sisters in the art of self-defense. If something were to happen to me—" Chihaya looked clearly uncomfortable at that, looking down in some form of shame and sadness, "—Then you girls need to learn how to defend not just yourselves, but also each other."

"Ok, so what are we doing here then?"

"Your best fighting strategy is to utilize hit-and-run tactics; swoop down and electrocute someone, or scratch their face up. You have wings; take advantage of that," Izuku explained.

"But I can't fly, I can only hover a few feet off the ground." Chihaya swung her leg back and forth, kicking up a bit of dust.

"I know, but your quirk makes you part animal. A mythological one, but an animal nonetheless, and that means that deep down you have some suppressed animal instincts. A bird learns to fly by being flung from the nest."

"What does that mean?" the scaled girl asked cautiously.

Izuku took a few steps forward, got down on eye level with his daughter, and placed a hand on her shoulder. "It means I love you, and I'm sorry," he replied softly before he grabbed her from under her armpits and tossed her into the lake. He made sure be gentle, so that even if she failed, she wouldn't be hurt in any way.

It took a few seconds, but soon, a dark blue blur raced past him. Chihaya whooped joyously and spun in the air, small white streaks coming off of the tips of her wings.

From the ledge, a small grin spread across Izuku's lips.

Eri joined him next; she had chosen a white long sleeved shirt, and a pair of red overalls over it to go along with a pair of yellow sneakers.

The only problem was a small purple stain on the right sleeve, most likely due to a doner that didn't wash it.

Eri grabbed her sleeve and her horn stump glowed yellow; in a few seconds, the purple stain floated out of the clothes.

"Papa! Look, I did it!" Eri cheered with a proud smile.

"Very good," Izuku commended.

-- Yesterday

"Papa, I'm scared. I don't wanna do this," Eri whimpered.

"It's ok, I'm here with you. I won't let you go out of control," Izuku assured as he pulled an acorn from his back pocket. He had asked Yuki to accelerate its growth rate, so a small, bright green sprig had broken through the shell.

"But—"

"We've been over this Eri; you've got this. I'm not asking you to revert this acorn to dust, just to put the sprig back in its shell." Izuku dropped the nut into her palm.

Eri looked at the acorn, conflicted between her fear of her quirk, and her love and trust for her father.

She decided to listen to the latter.

Her quirk activated, and almost as if in slow motion, the sprig lost its color and coiled back into its shell, where the hole rapidly repaired itself.

The light from her quirk went away and Eri peeled her eyes open one at a time, before her face twisted in amazement and confusion.

"H-how?" Eri stuttered out.

"The doctors were pushing you to do feats that were too great for the scope of your abilities. Instead of trying to reverse things decades and millenia, you needed to start off sending things back days or weeks," Izuku told her.

Izuku was tackle-hugged by his daughter seconds later. Had he not been crouching, he may not have lost his balance.

Sayori walked up to him next; she quietly tugged on his sleeve as if asking for approval on what she was wearing.

She had chosen a rather large, peach colored sweater with a collar that almost covered up her chin. Additionally, she was wearing a dark blue skirt and black dress shoes, which, to be perfectly honest, probably wasn't the best choice of clothing when you live in the woods.

"Uh, sweetie, can I ask why you chose that outfit?" Izuku questioned.

Sayori just smiled. "I like feeling fancy," she answered.

"Well that's fair enough," Izuku chuckled.

-- Yesterday

"Father, may I ask one more time, why do you want me to attack you?"

"I never said attack me; I said 'try and attack me', there's a difference." Izuku grinned

"But why?" Sayori once again asked.

"Your quirk makes your body into clay. Any weapon or construct that you can think of, you can make. You are the most effective attacker among your sisters, so I need to know that you can at least land a hi- HURK!"

Izuku was rarely unprepared; living in the facility had taught him to always have his guard up.

But he never could have expected his daughter to shape her fist into a ball, and send it rocketing into his stomach.

Izuku doubled over and groaned, holding his injured torso. He knew that Rage's passive healing ability wouldn't let him suffer any real injuries, but it didn't stop pain entirely.

"Father, are you okay?" Sayori asked.

"I'm fine sweetie, go play with your sisters now," Izuku ordered.

"Are you sure?"

"Yep, just leave your Dad to himself for a bit."

Yuki and Yuka came out last, wearing the same thing: a small, tattered dress with puffy shoulders. The only difference in their dresses was that Yuki's was green and white, while Yuka's was tan and white. They both wore white socks rolled down to their ankles, and they somehow managed to find the same pair of black shoes.

"Daddy! Do we look nice?" The twins excitedly asked, twirling around to show off each of their respective outfits in its entirety.

"Yes, you both look very nice."

-- Earlier that day

"Okay, Daddy! What are we gonna be doing for training?" Yuki excitedly chirped.

"It seems like your sisters already told you what you'll be doing then," Izuku sighed.

"Yeah! Make us strong like you!" Yuka cheered.

"You two are gonna be on defense," he instructed, causing the twin's excitement levels seemed to fall a little at that, "Yuka, your Geokinesis is good for making walls to block attacks. Yuki, with your Ecokinesis, you can summon vines from the ground to hold people back. You two are gonna use those to prevent me from getting to you. If even one of you is tagged, you lose. Understand?"

Yuki and Yuka nodded passionately, excited to start.

"Begin." Izuku pumped Rage into his legs and dashed forward, intent on finishing things quickly.

Unfortunately, he didn't account for the fact that the human synapse might be faster than him.

A stone pillar bounced him up in the air, while vines and roots shot from the ground to yank him back down.

"Yay! We win." Yuka ran up next to him and leaned over his body, her sister right behind her.

"Girls?" Izuku prompted, causing the two of them to look down and see him pressing a fingertip to both of their legs.

"Aw."

"We lost."

The vines fell slack, allowing him to sit back up "Don't worry about it girls. I didn't expect you two to even hit me; you did very good."

"Thanks, Daddy!" The twins said in unison.

"Now go get ready, we're leaving soon."

Now that his girls had chosen their clothes, it was Izuku's turn. He opted for a simple green hoodie, some black gloves, and a pair of tan pants. Out of the corner of his eyes he noticed a pair of red high-tops, ones that looked exactly like his old pair, only the laces were white and not black.

Izuku quickly grabbed the shoes and laced them up, before leading his daughters over to the register.

Unfortunately, some idiot thought this to be the prime opportunity to rob the store.

A man with long blonde hair was standing at the register holding out his palm, where tiny needles of bone were sticking out.

Izuku sighed to himself, removed the glove on his left hand, walked up to the robber and grabbed him by the back of his neck. "Now, I don't want to hurt you; it would attract too much attention. But if you don't leave…" Izuku pulled back his robot arm and pushed it forward again, mimicking the sound of a shotgun cocking, "I may just have to."

"Alright, man! Just put the shotgun away, damn!" the robber pleaded.

"Leave." Izuku let go of the man's neck

"Don't have to tell me twice," the robber bolted for the door.

"Thank you so much!" the cashier bowed, "I would have lost this job if we got robbed again. Is there any way for me to thank you?"

Izuku was about to say no, when he noticed the security cameras on either side of the buildings. "The camera tapes, please."

The girl ran to the back room and came back with a VHS tape and handed it over to Izuku, who promptly put his claws through it.

"Is this enough?" Izuku asked as he put the money down on the table.

"Doesn't matter, just take the clothes and go. It's the least I can do."

"Hmm, thank you. Girls, let's go."

He and his daughters walked to the door, but Izuku stopped halfway out the entrance and turned back to the girl behind the counter. "Y'know, you guys don't have a very sound business practice here."

Yes I have Eri the same outfit she has in Slaughterhouse, no I don't care, it's cute. I realized that in the last chapter I wrote Dollars instead of Yen, my bad, my dumb American brain gets in the way a lot. That's it for now, peace.
