"What do you want Katsuki?" Izuku asked.

The midnight wind blew through their hair, chilling them and sending the old wooden bridge creaking under its own weight.

"I want to know where the fuck you've been," Katsuki demanded.

"That's none of your business," Izuku answered.

"Bullshit! You go missing for five years and come back with a quirk and a bunch of little kids following right behind. I deserve to know what the hell happened!"

"You don't deserve shit from me! You tormented me for years!"

Katsuki fell silent, allowing the sounds of wind shaking leaves to resonate through the forest.

"Why did you call me here?"

"To fight."

Izuku sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Not as enemies, or as a tormentor and a victim. Hell, not even as friends. But as rivals, cause I can already tell it's gonna be you and me vying for number one. So show me what you've got!" Katsuki screamed as his hands crackled.

Izuku wasn't sure, but it almost sounded like Katsuki was trying to apologize. Like he did feel guilty for how he treated Izuku, but his how pride was preventing him from saying it.

Izuku cracked his neck and his quirk created a rim of red around his irises, "Let's go then."

The two men shot towards each other in the blink of an eye and immediately repelled the other, Katsuki with a large explosion, and Izuku with a simple right hook.

Katsuki blasted himself into the air and Izuku followed, attempting to grab his foot. Unfortunately, Katsuki had known this was gonna happen, and let loose an explosion from the bottom of his foot, sending Izuku down and through the railing of the bridge, before he landed in the shallow river as well.

"Where did you learn that one?"

"You think I've never listened to your little mumbling sessions?"

Izuku gave a screaming charge as he grabbed Katsuki and threw him forward, sending the man through the bridge. Izuku followed through the broken bridge and punched Katsuki in the face. He spit into the water, staining it with crimson before smiling at Izuku and trading a punch as well.

Izuku grabbed him by the shirt collar and the other man did the same they reared their heads back and slammed them together.

The two sat in the river, panting and in pain. If Izuku was going all out he would've been fine, but he didn't exactly want to kill Katsuki.

"Look man I'm sorry," Katsuki spoke up suddenly.

"For what? Izuku panted out as he pulled a splinter from his arm.

"For being a dick to you when we were kids. Truth is…" Katsuki took a long pause, staring at the water flowing over him, "Truth is I was afraid of you. Your ambition, your brain, your determination, you being quirkless was always only gonna be a minor setback and I was afraid of being cast to the shadows."

Izuku stared down as well, running his fingers over the moonlit rocks at the bottom of the creek, "I didn't exactly do myself any favors, never sticking up for myself. I should've socked you in the face a decade ago!" Izuku laughed as he laid back, letting the cleansing water rush over him.

Katsuki chuckled and did the same, dirt and blood muddying the water. Katsuki then held his hand out to Izuku, "Uneasy allies?"

"Sure man." Izuku took the blond bomber's hand, "Uneasy allies."

A short chapter that I definitely should've worked into the last one but I'm a dumbass and I really thought it would've been longer I severely apologize. Discord links:
