Thanksgiving came around the week after. Eda was at the store for a while the day before. She wanted to make her first Thanksgiving with Luz the best one ever. Luz invited Amity, Gus and Willow's families over.

King and Hunter helped Eda in the kitchen, of course, not after she called for help. "Who wants to take out the turkey guts?" Eda asked joyfully in the kitchen.

"Why don't you do it?" Luz asked.

"Well, I'm sure you don't want to find my hand in there, do you?" Eda replied, screwing her hand back on.

"Fair enough!" Luz said, walking back into the living room.

A few seconds after she left, King and Hunter came in. "We get to pull out what?" King checked. Eda smiled. "Turkey guts!"

"Count me in!" King said.

"That sounds gross," Hunter said hesitantly.

"They're in a bag, kid," Eda said, helping King onto the counter. King reached his arm inside and pulled out the bag. "Hraggh!" he growled as he held up the bag triumphantly above his head.

Eda gave Hunter some disposable gloves and told him to reach his hand inside. "Get the neck."

"There's a neck in there?" King asked.

"Yep."

Hunter removed his gloves, put on the plastic ones, walked towards the turkey and put his hand through the opening. "There ya go. Not that bad." Hunter reached inside for a little before his hand emerged, with the neck. "Look at the size of that one," Eda said, leaning closer to it.

"You got a big bird!" King exclaimed.

"And we're gonna eat it!" Eda smiled as she leaned closer to King.

King rubbed his claws together. "My first prey."

Eda began making the stuffing as she gave Hunter some things to chop. "Hoot hoot! We have our first guest!" Hooty said outside, then opening the door to reveal the Blight family. "Amity!" Luz cheered. "You're here early!"

"Heh, yeah. We had breakfast and then my dad wanted to head out or we were never going to leave. He was trying to work on this Abomination."

"At least you made it!"

"The others won't be here until later," Hooty said through the window.

"Thank you, Hooty." Luz pet the tube, who smiled and retracted back into the door.

"So...what's for dinner?" Amity asked.

"I thought you just ate!" Luz said. Amity giggled.

"We're having turkey!" Eda yelled from the kitchen.

Shortly after Camila came in through the door, holding a bag. "Mom!" Luz ran to hug her. "Is that for-"

"Yep! You know it!"

"The Noceda Family Cranberry Sauce!" they both exclaimed in unison.

After about two hours, Hooty opened the door for Gus and Willow and their families. They all had a short celebration and then they chatted for a while, munching on some of the snacks Eda put on the table. Hooty became involved and was telling them stories.

Luz helped in the kitchen after a while as Eda was getting everything ready for the feast. "All right everyone," Eda said, holding a large patterned blanket. "There isn't enough room in here for al of us so we'll have to eat outside."

"An outside thanksgiving?" Luz asked.

"That sounds fun!" Willow cheered.

"Take all your drinks and things and out we go!" Hooty opened the door for the guests and residents as they all left outside. "Won't this stuff roll down the hill?" Gus asked.

"Nope," Eda said, throwing the blanket on the floor. "It's flatter than it looks." Once the blanket was down, she left for the kitchen again, to rejoin Hunter and King. Luz put some plates down and some utensils. "This sounds exciting!" Gus' dad cheered.

A few minutes later, Eda, Hunter, King and Luz came out with the food. The group cheered, including Hooty. "I get some of it, right?" Hooty checked once the cheering died down.

"Of course you do, Hooty!" Eda said. "Where would I be without you?" Hooty smiled and joined the group on the picnic.

Once the food was placed and everyone was seated, the group all put their hands together. "Thank you for the food," they said in unison.

"This is the biggest Thanksgiving dinner I have ever had!" Gus said.

"It is really big," Willow agreed.

"There's plenty so don't worry about seconds," Eda explained.

Everyone feasted and chatted. Once the sun started going down was when Luz broke the chatting. "Okay, everyone!" She raised her hands in the air. "Listen up!"

Everyone quieted down. "Okay," Luz started. "The Noceda's have a family tradition. After the meal, we always go around the table saying what we're thankful for. We usually go around five times but since there's so many of us, we'll just go once. I'll start! I am thankful for my family. My mom, Eda, Lilith, all of you! You may be my friends, but I count you all as family!"

"Aww, you're the sweetest, Luz," Lilith said.

"Okay, mom! Your turn!"

"Hmm. I'm grateful for Luz. Without her, I would be lonely, and I wouldn't have met all of her amazing friends!" King wagged his tail. "Amity, go!" Luz said, peeking around her mom.

"Okay. I have to say Luz as well. Without her, I wouldn't be friends with Willow again. I would just be grumpy old green haired me the whole way."

"Aww, Amity," Luz said.

"My turn!" King exclaimed. "I'm thankful for Eda! I would just be a little lonely king all by myself without her!"

"Anytime, King," Eda said.

Emira looked around for a second. "Guess it's my turn." She paused, thinking. "Amity, of course! Just 'cause I tease you doesn't mean I don't like you, Mittens!"

"Thanks, Emira," Amity said.

"I'm thankful for Batric!" Edric exclaimed, as his bat squeaked. "Now I won't be alone forever!"

"I have to say my kids," Alador said calmly. "it's been nice getting to know them."

"Aw, dad!" Emira said.

"You too, dad," Amity said.

"Luz," Eda said, without thinking. "It's definitely Luz.

"Aw, Eda," Luz said, sniffling.

"Augustus," Perry said. "I don't even need to think of that one. Augustus is everything."

"I'm going to say my dad!" Gus said. "He's a lot of fun!" Luz smiled. She has always liked this part of Thanksgiving for a reason. She likes hearing the family drawn ones specifically. "Willow," both Gilbert and Harvey blurted out.

"Luz!" Willow said. "Thanks to her, I got into the tract I wanted to be in, grew stronger, and helped my friendship with Amity!"

"It was no biggie!" Luz said, waving a hand.

"Edalyn," Lilith said.

"Lilith!" Hooty cheered.

"All right, Hunter. You're the last one! What are you thankful for?" Hunter thought about it for a minute. "It's...you guys. You are all so understanding and trustworthy and nice. If it wasn't for you guys, I would probably have helped Belos in the Day of Unity. All of you...showed me what it was like to have a family."

Luz started crying. "Aww! It's not a problem, Hunter!"

"She's right!" Willow said. "Without you, this meal wouldn't be the same!"

"Plus, it's nice to have a close friend," Gus said, smiling.

"The more, the merrier!" Amity said.

"Thanks, guys!" Hunter exclaimed.
