In the dead of night in the UA infirmary, Izuku pushed himself off of the hospital bed. His legs felt shaky but he ignored it and walked over to the window.
The cold glass felt peaceful against his skin, but his heart was ablaze with his inner torment. Izuku's hands gripped tighter around the railing, denting it slightly.
'Quit your wallowing.'
"Get out of my head."
Izuku's reflection showed instead what he looked like at the USJ, blood soaked, and with red patches across his body.
'Our head you mean.'
"Shut up, I don't want you here."
'You need me. You're weak on your own.'
"I never asked for you. If I had to choose between being weak and having this curse, I'd choose the former."
'You fucking whiney bitch. If not for me you'd be dead in a gutter somewhere.'
"I'd still prefer that."
'I saved your life!'
"YOU RUINED MY LIFE!"
Izuku's reflection stayed silent.
"Everybody knows exactly who I am now: the people who could've been my friends are now gonna be disgusted by me; my daughters are gonna be horrified by me; Ochako, Setsuna, Kyouka they—"
The railing groaned under his grip.
'You don't need any of them, they hold you back, make you weak. The only person you need is me.'
"You're right—"
Izuku kept his metal hand tightly gripped to the railing and clenched his organic one around the base before he began to pull.
"The only person I need—"
He began to feel the wires rip from his nerves and the metal tear off of his skin, blood spurting from the places where his flesh was being taken off with the arm.
"Is me."
With one final pull Izuku fell on his ass, the feeling of his phantom limb still clenching. His metal arm hung strong off of the railing, not unclenched in the slightest, a couple of drops of blood fell from the wires but the majority of it was pouring from his stump.
The fluorescent lights flicked on and Recovery Girl ran in, scowling at him upon seeing Izuku's missing arm and pool of blood.
"What the hell is wrong with you!?" She yelled, before kissing his forehead and healing over his skin.
"I'm fixing myself," Izuku said, picking himself up and rolling his shoulders a few times.
"No, you're actively hurting yourself. I have to go to a staff meeting, stay in this bed until I come back," Recovery Girl ordered, punctuating her sentence by smacking him in the knees with her syringe-cane.
"Yes ma'am," Izuku answered, not taking his eyes off of the window.
"Is everyone here?" Nezu asked in a grim tone.
"Chiyo just texted me that she's on her way," Nemuri said.
"We can start without her. I'm sure you all know why we're here," Nezu sighed.
"Nezu, if you don't mind I'd like to speak first?" Shouta asked as he stood up.
"...You have the floor," Nezu nodded.
"I vote that we send Midoriya to Tartarus. They're the only ones that can hold him," Shouta suggested.
"Mr. Aizawa, you're fired."
"What?!" The rest of the staff yelled.
"Now hold on, I actually agree with Shouta on this," Snipe interjected.
"Then you are also fired. You'll have till tomorrow afternoon to clean out your desks and your rooms in the staff dorms before you're escorted off of campus," Nezu told them.
"Hold on. I don't agree with them but don't you think you're being a bit irrational?" Toshinori asked.
"That boy has been tortured for half a decade! We don't even know the extent of what those bastards put him through: the chemicals they injected him with, the physical trials he had to endure! I will not put him back into the jaw of the beast!" Nezu yelled.
The staff remained silent as Nezu readjusted his tie and calmed down, "After the entrance exam, Midoriya came up to me and explained his situation where he had been the last few years and where his daughters had come from. I promised him that I would protect him and his daughters, and I intend to keep that promise. So if you would like to break my promise you can get out."
"Apologies," Shouta said as he sat down.
"Sorry partner."
"Thank you. You're both hired again, excuse my outburst," Nezu said.
"So what do we do?" Ectoplasm asked.
"We'll put Izuku in psychological therapy with Hound Dog, and isolate him for a week just to make sure he's stable," Nezu answered.
The door opened and Chiyo took her seat, sighing as she did, "Sorry I'm late, I was walking by the infirmary when I heard Midoriya screaming."
"What happened?" Hizashi asked.
"I found him on the floor with that metal arm of his ripped off," Chiyo grimly explained.
"Jesus, why the hell would he—"
Power Loader was cut off when a loud alarm blared from each of their phones. The staff immediately tensed up and rocketed up from their chairs, all looking over to Nezu.
"What's happening?" Thirteen shouted over the alarms.
"Security breach of the north wall, hurry," Nezu ordered as he hopped onto Toshinori's shoulder.
The UA staff ran to the where the perimeter breach was reported skidding to a halt in front of the large hole in the wall.
"Fan out! Find them and put them down," Nezu ordered.
"Wait," Hound Dog called, stopping them, "This hole, the rubble's on the outside of the wall."
"So nobody broke in—" Nemuri started.
"Somebody broke out," Shouta finished.
At three o'clock in the morning, Shouta, Toshinori, and Nezu rounded up everybody in the 1-A dorms and sat them in the common room.
"What's going on?" Denki asked through a yawn.
"And where is Midoriya?" Tokoyami scowled.
"Young Midoriya is actually the subject of this meeting," Toshinori answered.
Shouta tossed Izuku's severed arm onto the table, "Two hours ago, Izuku broke out of our infirmary, he took his clothes and left this and a flash drive."
"You lost him?!" Setsuna asked.
"How did you lose him? He's a one-armed man that's built like a mountain!" Kyouka yelled.
"The staff was in a meeting at the time, we were distracted," Nezu explained.
"Show us what's on the flash drive," Ochako ordered.
Toshinori plopped a laptop onto the table and plugged the flash drive in, a video popping up in response.
The computer Izuku was recording the video on was the only thing illuminating his face, and they could hear the soft snoring of his daughters.
"I'm gonna make this quick, because if I don't I might not go through with this. I put all of you in danger today, I could've killed you guys and I almost did. Every day is a struggle against my rage, and every day I come closer and closer to losing. So I'm getting as far away as possible from you guys, because when the damn breaks, and my rage flows over...none of you will survive the flood."
The class stared at the video in shock.
"I'm gonna ask that you pasue the video now and give everyone a chance to leave, I'd like to speak to Kyouka, Ochako, and Setsuna in private."
The class hesitantly did as they were told, filtering put until it was just the staff and the three girls left. Ochako took a deep breath before pressing the space bar again.
"I know it's selfish of me, but I need you guy to take care of my daughters for me. I don't even know if they're safe around me anymore. You three and my mom...you're all they have more. I'm sor—."
The video cut off when Setsuna put her fist through the laptop.
"Setsuna!" Ochako shouted.
"He left us, again!" Setsuna shot her fist out and shattered a vase.
"You need to calm down."
"No, I'm with her on this. We just got him back a few months ago, he doesn't get to just leave!" Kyouka growled.
"I assure you, we're going to do everything in our power to bring him back," Nezu said.
"Quiet, rat!" Setsuna spat.
"That's enough!"
"It's fine, Aizawa. Come, we should give them some privacy," Nezu sighed as he lead the two other men out of the 1-A dorms.
"Just because you're madly in love with him doesn't mean what he did is ok!" Setsuna yelled.
"It's not ok, I'm pissed off at him too, but one of us has to keep a level head! And for the record, you wouldn't be this angry if you weren't also head over heels!" Ochako yelled back.
"Guys, quit your bickering!"
"Shut it, Kyo, you're in the same boat as the both of us!" Setsuna shouted.
The two plopped down back on the couch with Kyouka, throats sore from the screaming.
"He's right y'know. About the girls?" Kyouka said.
"Yeah I know," Setsuna grumbled.
"It's just us and Ms. Midoriya now," Ochako nodded.
"Look, we can blow up at Izuku when the heroes find him. But right now we need to focus on taking care of his daughter," Kyouka said.
"How the hell are we gonna do this?" They asked in unison, staring at the metal arm in front of them.
Hi. it's me, I'm back again. I hope you enjoyed the chapter, that's all I really have to say. That's it for now, Peace.
