This is my first attempt at a 9-1-1 fanfiction, I do apologize now for any grammar or spelling mistakes, they are certainly not my strong suit. I hope you enjoy this story. It may take me a while to update this story at first but please bear with me. Thank you!

When all is lost, then all is found

'Help me'; I pleaded in my mind as it hurts to even breath from where I lay on the cold unforgiving ground which I had been lying on for more than a few minutes, hours? No, no days? Er weeks? I'm not sure anymore all I know is I hurt, and I want the pain to stop. The pain was excruciating as it surged through my body every now and again like a wave of electricity that pierced every inch of myself while I lay on the cold grey, blood-spotted floor. Lights could be seen flashing all around as the sounds of sirens blared in the distance but grew louder and louder the closer, they got to where I was. I just wish they would turn them down as the noise was beginning to feel like they were splitting my head open.

Three Days ago

As the fire trucks for the 118 finally pulled back into their station after a grueling day of nearly no stop incidents the team of the 118 could finally take a shower and hand over to C group who were about to start their 12-hour shift.

The members of the 118 carefully jumped down from the trucks and began their slow steps towards the showers allowing C group to polish and restock the ambulance and fire engine which they were more than happy to allow.

Just as they opened the doors to the changing rooms a voice well knows to them all spoke out causing most of them to stop and turn towards the woman's voice.

"Bobby" the woman said as she made her way slowly towards them looking grim and ready to either break something or cry, which shocked all the 118 who knows her well.

"Athena everything alright?" Bobby asked as he made his way over to the woman and carefully embraced her when she stepped into his space. "What's wrong, is it the kids, Michelle, David?" he asked knowing something was seriously wrong.

"No they're fine, is there somewhere quiet we can talk?" Athena asked looking at Bobby as well as a small handful of the 118 team.

"Sure we can use the office, do you want…" Bobby didn't even need to finish before Athena was nodding her head before moving over to the office waiting for everyone to come in and settle down either standing or seated.

"Athena you're starting to scare me now, what's wrong?" the only other woman in the room asked as she came up and placed a gentle hand on Athena's arm which was quickly covered with Athena's other hand.

"Yeah Athena, you've never called us all into the office for nice things what's happened? Is it about the kids? Maddie? Any of our partners?" one of the men in the room asked as he made his way over to the side unit and gently leaned back into it.

"Now before I start, please, do not blame yourselves" she looked around the room and landed on the only man she knows who used to reside in Texas, before diverting her gaze back towards Bobby.

"It's about Buck, isn't it?" the Texas man said as his arms dropped to his sides and he literally deflated before nearly collapsing at the next words out of Athena's mouth.

"Yes, Maddie was growing worried at not hearing anything from her brother and asked if I was in the area to quickly check he was alright, what I found was not good, we know he was due for a doctor's appointment earlier this morning which he never attended" Athena began before watching one of the men move quickly to support the Texan as he nearly crumpled to the floor in disbelief and panic.

While making sure everyone was sitting down together so that they could offer support and comfort to each other if needed or by looking at them the comfort was already being given if the way the only other women in the room had her arm around the Texans shoulders pulling him close was anything to go by.

"Eddie, I know this is hard to listen to…" Athena began before the Texan known as Eddie spoke up.

"That's an understatement I need to know what's happened, but I also want to leave this room and go and see Buck, this is a joke right?" Eddie said in an exasperated voice before looking directly at Athena waiting for what else she had to say.

Athena moved closer and gently took one of Eddie's hands as she began talking again, still keeping an eye on everyone else in the room in case she needed to stop again "Buck never turned up for his appointment which is why Maddie asked me to check in with him as the doctor had gotten in contact with her, I arrived at his apartment and knew something was wrong by the door being slightly open…" Athena took a moment before continuing.

"Buck's apartment was trashed…" Athena stopped again at the audible gasp coming from most of the people in the room. "Before I entered, I did call for back up and we both entered to find furniture up on end, Buck's kitchen was a complete mess but…" Athena paused again which only brought more dread to the occupant of the room.

"What did you find Athena?" Bobby asked knowing there was something she was hesitant to speak of.

"We found blood on the side as though someone had bumped hard into it, we also found his bedroom in a mess, clothes were slung everywhere, and the mattress was nearly falling off the bed" Athena mentioned as she again paused to compose herself.

"Is Buck alright? How badly hurt is he? Which hospital was he taken to?" Eddie asked in a panic as he stood up and began moving to the door before being pulled into Athena where he began crying and begging to be told where he was.

"Athena" the other woman said looking nervous and shocked at the possible realization she had come to.

"Yes Hen, Buck wasn't found within the apartment, or anywhere he would frequent, we checked with Karen to see if he had stopped there, we checked your apartment Chimney to see if he had managed to get to yours but now sign, he's not at Maddie's or ours Bobby, and he's not at yours Eddie" at the end of this many of the occupants in the room were crying, Eddie the most as he clung to Athena who clung back just as hard.

"Do you know where he might be?" Hen asked coming over to take Eddie into her arms who willingly went, not uttering a word now.

"No, we think whoever went to his apartment knew he was not at work today. His apartment is a crime scene so no one will be able to go over, when I hear more about anything you will all be the first to know, unfortunately, because I am too close to Buck, I have to hand this case over to a colleague of mine who will stop at nothing to help us find him" Athena said before being drawn into a cuddle with her husband and friends.

As the cuddles came to an end Bobby was quick to guide his team to the lockers to grab their gear before taking Eddie's in his hand and moving them to the cars outside. As they all gathered around the cars where it was agreed that Eddie was not to drive home today, and Athena was quick to bundle him into Bobby's car while Hen and Chim began ringing around families explaining to meet at Athena and Bobby's place.
