"Waking up to kiss you and nobody's there

The smell of your perfume still stuck in the air

It's hard"

Lance woke up and turned over on his side, his hand slapping against his mattress only to meet nothing. His eyes opened, expecting to see Keith sleeping beside him. However, his heart dropped and ached seeing he wasn't there.

They had broken up a year ago, why was he thinking Keith would magically be there?

It was strange, for them being broken up for a year, he could still smell Keith's cologne that he would wear. Even though Keith was still there.

"Yesterday I thought I saw your shadow running round

It's funny how things never change in this old town

So far from the stars"

Yesterday, Lance was walking home after a meeting with his father and Nyma's father. He was passing by the park him and Keith would walk through after their dates sometimes and caught sight of a man with black hair. From the back, he thought it was Keith and called his name out.

The man turned and gave Lance a look of confusion.

"Oh, sorry," Lance said with a sheepish smile. "I thought you were someone else."

"It's alright," the man replied with a smile. "Have a nice day."

"Yeah," Lance replied with a nod, his smile slowly fading. "You to."

"And I want to tell you everything

The words I never got to say the first time around

And I remember everything

From when we were the children playing in this fairground

Wish I was there with you now"

The day they broke up still haunted Lance to this day. He thought that making his parents happy by agreeing to marry Nyma would make him happy, he loved his parents. However, his aching heart never healed and he just found himself miserable instead.

"If the whole world was watching I'd still dance with you

Drive highways and byways to be there with you

Over and over the only truth

Everything comes back to you"

If Lance could, he would 100% turn back time and take back his word to marry Nyma. Maybe then he would still be with Keith in their happy relationship. Back to when everyone was simple and he knew what he wanted. Back to when Keith's heartbroken face holding his phone with the text from his mother didn't haunt his face.

"Maybe you have moved on with someone new

In a pub where you met and he's got his arms around you

It's so hard

So hard"

Lance wondered if Keith had moved on yet. Wherever he had gone to, was he just as miserable as he was? Scenes of Keith with another guy flashed through his head and his heart ached. He knew he had no right to be jealous or upset if Keith had moved on but, he couldn't help but think about it.

"And I want to tell you everything

The words I never got to say the first time around

And I remember everything

From when we were the children playing in this fairground

Wish I was there with you now"

Lance had noticed that Hunk seemed more tense than usual. He felt guilty making Hunk promise not to say anything to Keith about his engagement with Nyma for the years they were together. When they broke up, Lance had gone to Hunk and apologized for making Hunk keep the secret.

"It's fine," Hunk told him with a sigh. "It was hard to keep it from Keith for so long but I knew it was better to come from you rather than me."

"Technically it came from my mother first," Lance pointed out with a sigh. "But yeah, I guess you're right."

"Because if the whole world was watching I'd still dance with you

Drive highways and byways to be there with you

Over and over the only truth

Everything comes back to you"

"Have you heard from Keith lately?" Rosa asked one night over dinner. "He hasn't been by in a while, is he doing okay?"

"I-I don't know," Lance said with a soft shrug of his shoulders. "Keith has gone off the grid and no one has heard from him in a while."

"I hope he's doing okay," Rosa said with a frown. "He's such a sweet boy, whatever he's dealing with I hope it goes well for him."

"Yeah," Lance choked out with a forced smile.

'Will your name forever haunt me?' Lance thought with a mental frown.

"You'd still make me nervous when you walk in the room

Them butterflies they'd come alive when I'm next to you

Over and over the only truth

Everything comes back to you"

Lance had tried to distract himself with planning the wedding with Nyma and her family. However, he couldn't help but remember when he and Keith jokingly planned their own fake wedding. They had even gone so far as to drag their friends into "wedding planning" and had a book and everything.

What happened to that book after they broke up, Lance didn't know.

"And I know that it's wrong

That I can't move on

But there's something about you"

'Why does everything come back to you?' Lance thought with a sigh.

"If the whole world was watching I'd still dance with you

Drive highways and byways to be there with you

Over and over the only truth

Everything comes back to you"

"Would you take it all back if you could?" Hunk asked him one day. "Would you choose to be in a relationship with Keith, knowing that you would someday marry Nyma?"

"Would I refuse the marriage and actually come out to my parents, is the better question," Lance said with a sigh. What had stopped him for years from coming out to his parents was what happened to his older sister Veronica. She had been disowned and kicked out, he was scared the same would happen to him if he were to follow suit.

"If the whole world was watching I'd still dance with you

Over and over the only truth

Everything comes back to you

You still make me nervous when you walk in the room

Them butterflies they come alive when I'm next to you

Over and over the only truth

Everything comes back to you"

"If I could change everything from when Keith and I were first in a relationship," Lance said staring up at the sky. "I would, 100%, I would."

"Everything comes back to you"

"I think we should do magenta for the bridesmaid dresses and navy for the boutonnieres," Nyma's mother, Danielle said as she read off the plans she had been making. "Or we could also switch it around and have navy for the bridesmaid dresses and magenta for the boutonnieres."

"Magenta? I thought we agreed on navy and green?" Rosa asked with confusion.

"Did we?" Danielle asked looking up at Rosa.

"I think so."

"I can't even remember," Danielle said with a sigh. "My brain is so muddled with everything."

"What do you think Nyma?" Rosa asked turning to Nyma.

"Um, I think navy and green is fine," Nyma said with a small smile. "What do you think Lance?"

The group's eyes turned onto Lance for his answer. However, Lance was apparently zoned out and did not hear the group calling his name. He was only brought out of his thoughts when Nyma placed a gentle hand on his shoulder.

"Lance? Are you okay?"

"I'm fine," Lance said with a small smile and a small shrug. "Just, tired I guess."

"That's understandable," Danielle said with a nod. "I think we all deserve a break, we can leave it for today and come back when we've all had some rest."

As soon as the meeting disbanded, Lance quickly left the building and into the fresh air. He took a deep breath of relief and felt like he could finally breathe. It was suffocating to be in a room, planning a wedding he didn't want, and trying to keep his thoughts from coming back to Keith.

He hated having to hide a relationship that had fallen apart from not only his parents but from Nyma as well.

He couldn't keep doing this. He would crack eventually.

So, he did the only thing he could. He postponed the wedding.

And told Nyma everything.

Starting with Keith.

*Present Time*

"Allison!" Lance called out as he caught sight of his cousin after she got off stage.

"Lance? What is it?" Allison asked turning to her cousin.

"Why didn't you tell me Keith was performing?" Lance asked.

"What? Why would I need to?" Allison asked in confusion. However, then it clicked. She thought Keith's name was familiar. Wait. "Are you saying that the Keith that was just on stage was your Keith from four years ago?"

"Yeah," Lance answered with a nod. "Do you know where he went? I've been trying to find him

Lance watched as Keith got into the car, his mother in the driver's seat and was trapped behind Shiro and Kolivan blocked him. However, as the car pulled away, he caught a glimpse of two four year old girls sitting in the backseat.

Who were those kids? Where they Krolia's? He remembered Keith saying his mother was in a relationship with another man.

"Lance?" his mother called out from the building. Lance sighed and turned back to find his mother coming out of the building. "Is everything okay? Why are you out here?"

"Everything's fine Mama," Lance said with a smile. "I just wanted to get some fresh air."

"Alright, if you're sure," Rosa said with a smile. "Your father and Rachel are ready to go when you are."

"Right," Lance said with a nod. He spared one last look to where the cars were before he turned and followed his mother back inside.

"Didn't you see the way he looked at him?" Cassandra asked Nyma with a glare. "He looked like some heartbroken puppy."

"They were friends years ago Cass," Nyma said with a sigh. "They lost contact after Keith went off the grid and disappeared, of course, he looked like a lost puppy when he saw him."

"You're hiding something," Cassandra said eyeing Nyma from where she was sitting on Nyma's bed, whereas Nyma was sitting at her desk organizing it.

"Leave it alone Cass," Nyma said with a roll of her eyes. "It's none of your business so just drop it."

"Fine," Cassandra said with a grunt. "Whatever you say, sister dearest."

"Come on Allison," Lance whined with a pout. "You can't even tell me one thing about him?"

"Lance, I don't have time for this," Allison said with a sigh. "I have a meeting in ten minutes and I need to get ready for it."

"Come one, not even for your favourite cousin?"

Allison stared at Lance who stared back up at her with a pout.

"Fine," Allison said with a sigh, pulling a folder out from the pile and opening it to reveal a photo of Keith. "All I know is that he moved from Cranston back to Millcreek four years ago and has been living there ever since. From what I understand, he's been staying with his brother here in Cranston with his two daughters."

"Daughter?" Lance asked to which Allison nodded.

"Yes, are you deaf?" Allison asked with a roll of her eyes. "That's all I know, now if you'll excuse me, I have a meeting to prepare for."

"Thanks, Allison," Lance called out with a smile as he left the office and headed out.

"Look at me, Daddy!" Camilla called out as she climbed on the monkey bars. "I'm doing it all by myself!"

"You're doing great honey!" Keith called out with a smile. Beside him on the bench sat Shiro, while Adam was busy picking flowers with Marina who wanted to make flower crowns for everyone. Adam had recently taught her and she loved making them.

"Daddy!" Keith turned to see Marina waving him over with a smile. Keith headed over and knelt down in front of her.

"Did you do that all by yourself?" Keith asked as he noticed the purple flower crown in her hands.

"Yep!" Marina said with a proud smile on her face. "Can you put it on me, please?"

"Of course Rina," Keith said with a smile. He took the delicate crown in his hands and placed it gently on Marina's head. Marina smiled and Keith snapped a photo on his phone. "You know, I think Camilla would like one, wouldn't she?"

"I'll make her one!" Marina exclaimed and turned to Adam. "You'll help me won't you Uncle Adam?"

"Of course sweet pea," Adam said with a smile. Keith smiled and turned to walk back to the bench. He turned hearing Camilla's laughter and saw Shiro helping Camilla hang upside down on the bars. He was thankful Camilla had requested to wear leggings today as opposed to Marina who wore a dress today.

"Keith?"

Keith turned around to find Lance standing a few feet away. His hands buried in his coat pockets. Keith could feel his heart beating a million miles an hour.

"What do you want Lance?" Keith asked, he hadn't meant for it to come out with such venom but he felt his heart ache seeing Lance flinch softly.

"Can we talk?" Lance asked softly, his eye going over to where Shiro had stopped playing with Camilla to glare him down. "Alone?"

"I don't know," Keith said with a sigh. His heart was screaming at him to run, run away to his girls and leave. However, one voice in the back of his head screamed at him to at least hear Lance out.

"Please, just, five minutes," Lance pleaded, staring at Keith with the eyes that made his heart melt all over again. Lance would pull the same look when he and Keith got into scuffles and Keith could never stay mad at Lance when he pulled the eyes.

"Fine," Keith said with a soft nod. "Five minutes."

The pair headed off a little ways away and sat down on a bench. Keith trusted Shiro and Adam to watch the girls while he was away for five minutes. There was a few moments of silence before Lance spoke up.

"I'm sorry," he said softly. "I'm sorry for all the pain I caused you, I can't imagine how you felt all these years."

"Pretty much how you would imagine anyone finding out their boyfriend had a secret fiancée he never mentioned," Keith said staring down at his hands with a sigh.

"I had stuff I meant to drop off to you, stuff you left at my place," Lance said with a frown. "But when I went to your apartment, you were already gone. I dropped the box off at Shiro and Adam's."

"I know," Keith said softly. "They told me."

"The girls-"

"No," Keith said with a shake of his head. "We're not talking about them."

"They're mine, aren't they?" Lance asked turning to Keith who avoided his eyes. "The timeline makes sense."

"So what? You've been snooping into my life?" Keith asked turning to Lance with a heated glare.

"Do they know?" Lance asked.

"That is none of your business," Keith snapped.

"You haven't told them have you?"

"What is this? An interrogation?"

"When were you going to tell them? Are you going to tell them?"

"No!" Keith shouted, he stood up from the bench and turned to Lance with a glare. "They won't and what I do with them is none of your concern. You gave up that right when you broke my heart and went off to marry some girl just to please your family!" Keith yelled as he turned to walk away.

"Keith! Wait!" Lance called out, standing off the bench they had been sitting out as the raven started to walk away. Keith was about to call out for the twins when Lance suddenly grabbed his wrist.

"Let me go Lance," Keith whispered softly, his heart thundering in his chest. He was about to pull his wrist free when Lance didn't release his wrist until he heard Lance start singing softly.

"You were cheated by me

And I think we know when

I had made up my mind

And it came to an end"

Lance still remembered that day, the tears running down Keith's cheeks as he told him that they were breaking up and he was going to marry Nyma.

"Look at me now, will I ever learn?

Seeing you now

And I suddenly lose control

There's a fire within my soul

Just one look

And I can hear a bell ring

One more look and I forget everything

w-o-o-o-o-h"

Keith turned back to Lance with wide eyes. He had heard Lance sing a few times, yet even now it made his heart melt hearing his voice.

"Mamma mia, here I go again

My my, how could I resist ya?

Mamma mia, does it show again?

My my, just how much I've missed ya

Yes, we've been brokenhearted

Blue since the day we parted

Why, why did I ever let you go?

Mamma mia, now I really know

My my, I should not have let you go"

Keith sighed and turned back away from Lance, pulling his wrist free and wrapping his arms around himself. He hated how his heart was reacting, he should hate Lance for what he did. He should curse him out and leave him broken hearted. Or better yet, let Shiro have a go at him, yet, he stayed here and started to sing.

"I was angry and sad

When you said we were through

I can't count all the times that I cried over you"

Keith frowned remembering the nights he would lay in his bed and cry. The nights that followed after their break up and the nights that he was pregnant with the twins. Even after they were born, Keith would find himself crying late at night, knowing that his girls would have to grow up without knowing who their other father was.

"And when you go

When you slammed that door

Heart buried below

My feelings written in song

My heart just wasn't that strong"

Keith remembered when they broke up. Keith had cursed him out and Lance had snapped back at him, turning halfway through their argument and slamming Keith's apartment door behind him.

"Just one look

And I can hear a bell ring

One more look and I forget everything

w-o-o-o-oh"

Lance stepped in front of Keith and brushed the bangs out of Keith's eyes. Eyes that had started filling with tears.

At this point, Shiro and Adam had seen what was happening and gathered the twins from the playground. The girls wanted to run over to him and see what was happening with the stranger but their uncles just shook their heads and told them to stay where they were.

"Mamma mia, here I go again

My my, how can I resist ya?

Mamma mia, does it show again?

My my, just how much I've missed ya

Yes, you've been brokenhearted

Blue since the day we parted

Why, why did I ever let you go?

Mamma mia

Now I really know

My, my, I should not have let you go"

"I'm sorry I let you go," Lance whispered, tears filling his own eyes as Keith refused to look at him, his eyes staring down at the ground. "I told you I would never hurt you and I broke that promise."

"I have to go," Keith whispered pulling away from Lance, his heart aching at the action. He hated it, he needed to leave. If he stayed here he knew his heart was going to try and let Lance back into his heart.

"Keith please," Lance said turning as Keith walked past him and grabbed his wrist once more.

"Don't, please," Keith said with a soft shake of his head. "Don't come looking for me or my daughters again."

Keith pulled his wrist free and started walking to where Shiro, Adam, and the twins were standing. Lance let him. Watching as Keith grabbed the hands of the twins and started walking back to the car. Shiro and Adam gave him a look before they followed.

Leaving Lance alone in the park. Just him and his broken heart.

Author's Note:

Another chapter already? I swear I just posted one yesterday.

So I decided to throw some Lance flashbacks in this chapter while I was organizing songs in the playlist.

So as you can see, Keith and Lance have met and had a conversation with one another, that sort of ended in disaster.

Thought Question: Do you think Lance will try and work things out with Keith? And try to have a re*3 Years Ago*

And try to have a relationship with his daughters?

Just a reminder that Discord Mod applications are open and I've decided to extend them until the 6th of November because school is picking up and that week is a pretty chill week as far as I can tell with my schedule. The link can be found here: /eEYSbfPXy55KuvWS6
