Chapter 27
Todoroki slammed his dorm room door shut in anger as he paced the room. His hands ran through his hair roughly and took deep breaths to calm himself. "I'm losing her. First...him. Now Bakugou." He growled, the memory of brushing Kaiya off of him replayed in his mind. "Fuck. I love her….I can't lose her."
In her dorm room, quickly avoiding any curious stares in the cafeteria, Kaiya curled into her bed. She hadn't felt so broken and sad in a long time and she hadn't missed the feeling. She plugged her earphones in and let the sad melody play. "Tell them all I know now, shout it from the rooftops, write it on the skyline, what we had...is gone now." She whispered, squeezing her eyes tight to stop the pooling tears. "No. I'm not doing this. I'm not losing him." She ran out of the dorm and stopped outside Todoroki's room. Her hand froze against the handle as she took a deep breath. "Baby? I'm not coming in but I hope you can hear me…" She started, willing her voice not to break.
Todoroki heard Kaiya's voice behind the door and crept closer to hear her better, unable to bring himself to open the door. "I can hear you." He managed to say, hearing her relieved sigh.
"This feeling is foreign to both of us...I know. And I don't expect a response but I need to tell you something." Kaiya started, squeezing her eyes shut as emotion racked through her. "I love you. I don't like you right now, but I will never stop loving you." Todoroki froze at the confession Kaiya made and squeezed his palms against the door. "I have fought so hard in my life for everything; including you." She told him, her hand ghosting against the wood. "Whenever you are ready...I'm not going anywhere. I will not abandon you." She said, leaning her head against the door. Todoroki sighed quietly as his eyes squeezed shut. As tears fell over his cheeks, his hand yearned to reach through the door when Kaiya's angelic voice sounded again.
Now and then there's a light in the darkness
Feel around till you find where your heart went
There's a weight in the air but you can't see why, why
Didn't I tell you you were gonna break down
Didn't I want you, everybody wants you
Tell me what you're needing, give into your bleeding
Never any feeling for yourself
We build it up, we tear it down
We leave our pieces on the ground
We see no end, we don't know how
We are lost and we're falling
Hold onto me
You're all I have, all I have
Hold onto me
You're all I have, all I have
Todoroki's heart beat rapidly as pieces broke inside him. He heard the anguish in her voice and knew she was hurting just as much as he was. "Get some sleep." Kaiya whispered before departing back to her room.
Todoroki broke down and fell to his knees, feeling all the anger and frustration pour out of his eyes. "You're all I have too, baby."
Kaiya flopped onto her bed and buried her head in her pillow, crying into the fabric. "Please come back to me."
The next morning, Kaiya looked exhausted and sick as Todoroki brushed past her to get to his seat. His feet threatened to stop as he caught the red rimmed eyes of his girlfriend talking quietly to Mina, but pushed forward. He did want to talk to her, but he had no words; instead when she took her seat next to him, he placed a warm hand on her forearm. Her eyes darted to his and saw a strong sadness in them. After her heartfelt plea the night before, Todoroki spent most of the night figuring out his apology for being so rude to Kaiya; but he came up empty. Sharing this look with Kaiya was all he could muster; a silent plea between the two before Aizawa walked in.
"Morning class, today we will split you all up into pairs and like the sports festival, compete until we are down to the last two standing. It's been some time since the festival so I want to see new and improved moves and techniques. Understood?" Aizawa explained, hearing no complaints from the class. "Good. Change into your hero costumes and meet me outside in the arena and I'll split you all up."
The class stood in their costumes hearing their first pairings as Midnight and All Might joined Aizawa. Aizawa displayed the pairings and heard a round of gasps from the students.
Bakugou vs Aoyama
Koda vs Jirou
Sato vs Kaiya
Todoroki vs Mineta
Iida vs Momo
Shoji vs Kirishima
Deku vs Mina
Ochako vs Misa
Sero vs Tokoyami
Kaminari vs Tsu
"I know some of these pairings are..peculiar. That's the point. You never know what you will be up against so it is best to be prepared and trained for anything." Kaiya snorted and timed in her head how quickly Mineta would be taken down by Todoroki. The small teen must have realized that too as he was visibly shaking next to her. "Now, I have Midnight and All Might here to watch so we can do two fights at a time for time constraints and if anyone gets injured. Anything goes, just like the sports festival. Good luck." Aizawa explained, pointing at the two arenas chalked out for the class.
Bakugou braced himself against a well timed laser attack from Ayoyama as soon as the battle began. The explosion teen counter attacked and got close enough to Ayoyama to distribute an explosion next to the boy to knock him out of bounds. "Did that go too easily to you?" Momo asked Kaiya, noting the gentleness of Bakugou's attack.
"There's more to Bakugou than you realize." Kaiya replied, smirking at the explosion boy as he rejoined Kirishima and Kaminari. Todoroki noticed Kaiya's line of sight towards Bakugou and growled, gaining Midoriya's attention.
"Dude chill. There's nothing going on with them." He whispered, seeing Todoroki nod. Todoroki still exuded jealousy as he took a deep breath to calm down.
Koda and Jirou's battle was still ongoing as Koda had ordered a swarm of birds to surround Jirou. "I hate these damn animals!" Jirou cursed, waving her hands and shooting off loud blasts from her boots. "Okay fine...have some of this!" Jirou yelled, increasing the volume and intensity of her sound to knock Koda out of bounds. Momo and Mina cheered happily for Jirou as the flock of birds flew away.
Todoroki and Mineta took their spot for their fight as Kaiya and Sato went to their arena. "This will be interesting." Midnight whispered to Aizawa. Todoroki swept an ice wall over to Mineta who threw his purple balls towards the icy teen; but he wasn't a match for Todoroki's speed. He mistimed his dodge and was knocked out of bounds by the sheer ice attack. The students gaped at the time it took Todoroki to win.
"Well...that was quick. Eighteen seconds..." Midnight whispered to Aizawa who rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, that match up wasn't exactly fair. Are we sure Young Mineta is a good fit for the hero course?" All Might asked.
"They can't get used to being paired with heroes with similar skill sets." Aizawa reminded his fellow teachers.
Sato and Kaiya were still fighting when Todoroki looked over to see the girl dodging Sato's powerful lunges without using her Quirk. She was planning on burning out his energy; saving her own. It was a smart tactic, even if she looked like she was just killing time. Then when Sato began to slow down from lack of sugar, she shot a few fragments of earth at him, knocking him unconscious. "That's my girl." Todoroki thought to himself.
"That was a smart move Kaiya, good job." Aizawa complimented her, as Shoji pulled Sato off the course.
Iida and Momo took their spot. Kaiya was excited to see how far Momo had grown since the sports festival; hoping the girl would win against the speedy Iida. They began and Iida ran around the girl, trying to grab for her like he did with Todoroki at the sports festival. However, Momo had become a lot quicker with her creations and managed to block Iida's reach by creating walls and shields. Eventually, Iida's engines were slowing down and Momo took this opportunity to trip the boy by creating a ramp in front of him just in time. He fell out of bounds hard and clamored into the watching students. The girls cheered for her in a group together but Todoroki could see Kaiya's smile was one of pride. Momo squealed and hugged Kaiya tightly, a deeper meaning in her victory.
"Good girl. That was amazing." Kaiya whispered to Momo.
Shoji and Kirishima took their place next, stretching themselves out. "Ok honestly, I have no idea who could win this." Kaiya whispered to Kaminari.
"Right? Kirishima is strong but his hardening has a time limit. Shoji is strong too..but he needs to be able to out maneuver Kiri." Shoji took off towards Kirishima and they fought hand to hand with Shoji attempting to distract Kirishima with his multiple appendages. Kirishima remained his usual demeanor and fought easily against the dupli armed teen, choosing to harden only when Shoji got close. "He's waiting." Kaminari noticed.
"For a window...to strike." Kaiya finished for him, noting a solid punch meeting Shoji's chest, knocking him out of bounds. "Wow! That was amazing Kiri!" Kaiya cheered, hugging the teen.
"Patience was never my strong suit!" Kirishima laughed, watching Shoji nod his approval at him. "He's quick." He complimented his classmate. Kaiya's memory ran back to their fight with the Vangard during the summer break and remembered how strong Shoji was then too.
"There is way more to him than just arms." Kaiya agreed, noting Mina and Deku had begun their battle. "Bets on Mina?" Kaiya asked, handing Kirishima a few yen.
"Deal." Kirishima nodded, showing his money. They watched intently as Deku blasted past Mina who was spurting out acid, barely missing the boy. "He's quicker than she is." Kirishima noticed, seeing Mina land an attack on Deku who cried out in pain.
"He has to land a blow to get her though." Kaiya argued gently, seeing Deku gain speed and pull Mina out of bounds easily. "Damnit." She mumbled, handing Kirishima the money. "A deal is a deal."
"Thank you!" Kirishima smiled, pocketing the money. Kaiya smirked as she heard Deku and Mina conversing with each other.
"Oh it's ok! It didn't hurt much, I just need to change up my costume for acid attacks!" He smiled.
Ochako and Misa began their battle and Misa attacked strongly with her flame waves; knocking Ochako over before she caught herself. "That move is really powerful." Momo noticed, wincing as Ochako flew over Misa's attacks, managing to get a touch to the girl. She floated slightly but was able to dig her claws into the ground and kick Ochako out of bounds to cinch the victory.
"I am not surprised that it was such a gentle win for her." Kaiya giggled, seeing Ochako release Misa. "Who's next?" Her answer was seeing Sero wrapped up in his own tape as Dark Shadow circled the boy.
"Well...I didn't see that coming." Kirishima laughed at the trapped Sero. Tsu and Kaminari were in the middle of their battle when a bright shock of electricity illuminated the battle ground. Tsu managed to jump out of the way before being shocked, but another shock crackled next to her. "He's trying to push her out of the way without shocking her." Kirishima gasped, noting the intelligence that Kaminari was showing.
"He's able to direct his electricity now?" Jirou asked, remembering their USJ attack when his shocks weren't stable. At last, one final shock was enough for Tsu to surrender. "That's pretty smart." Jirou mumbled as Kaiya nudged her. "Shut it. Means nothing."
The results of the winners were displayed on the board as the losers nursed their wounds and pride. "Vibrations and elements are back together?" Kaiya noticed the new pairings.
"Hopefully I'll be more useful this time around than I was during the summer break." Jirou scoffed.
Bakugou vs Aoyama
Koda vs Jirou
Sato vs Kaiya
Todoroki vs Mineta
Iida vs Momo
Shoji vs Kirishima
Deku vs Mina
Ochako vs Misa
Sero vs Tokoyami
Kaminari vs Tsu
Bakugou vs Todoroki
Jirou vs Kaiya
Momo vs Kirishima
Deku vs Misa
Tokoyami vs Kaminari
"Guess we'll finally have that rematch you've been dying for Bakugou." Todoroki mumbled at Bakugou when the match came up. He was still irritated about him sparring with Kaiya, so this exercise would be good to blow off steam.
"Yeah. don't throw it again Icy Hot." Bakugou snapped before adding, "Fight like you have something to lose." Todoroki's eyes widened as he noted where Bakugou's line of sight fell. He saw Kaiya smiling with Jirou, stretching her palms in preparation for her own battle.
"Don't start that shit again." Todoroki threatened, eliciting a smirk from Bakugou.
"Is Todoroki looking at Kaiya more than normal today?" Midnight asked Aizawa who followed his coworkers' gaze. Kaiya's eyes kept breaking between her conversation with Jirou and the stoic icy teen who was squaring up with Bakugou.
"They haven't really been talking as much in class the last few days." Aizawa mumbled as All Might piped in.
"During the hero assessments, they barely communicate. They still do well...but not so much as a word is shared." Aizawa groaned and realized something must have transpired between the two. He had planned to pair the two up at the end if they made it that far, but now he was definitely going to do it so they could air whatever was wrong between the two of them.
"Good luck girl." Jirou fist bumped Kaiya as she got to the other end of the arena. Kaiya wanted this over quickly so she could watch Bakugou and Todoroki's fight; so she shook the earth the instant Jirou plugged herself into the earth; shattering the girl's hearing. While she was recovering from the sound damage, Kaiya threw a large wave at Jirou, causing the girl to fall out of bounds. "That was sneaky, but well played." Jirou choked out the water in her mouth, as Kaiya helped her up.
"Sorry about that." Kaiya winced, surrounding Jirou in a wind barrier, drying the earphone jack teen instantly.
"That's a cool trick." Jirou laughed, patting her hair down. "Let's watch your boy." Kaiya rolled her eyes subtly but followed her friend to the intense battle already ensuing. Todoroki was using his fire right off the bat, so Kaiya knew he did not intend to lose this fight. She fought herself to cheer for him; she was still furious with him but she cheered in her head. Bakugou seemed to struggle against his opponent, not firing strong enough blasts against Todoroki's fire.
"He may actually win this one." Kaiya mumbled, eyeing Todoroki through his fire. She nodded slightly at him as he met her eyes. He growled and sent a large fire wave against Bakugou's last blast attack, then throwing him down with a large slab of ice; knocking the explosion boy out. The students cheered as Kirishima pulled an unconscious Bakugou off the field. "That was pretty cool." She mumbled, avoiding Todoroki's eyes that burned into hers from the melting ice slab.
Kirishima and Momo squared up as Momo created a strong shield to block the hardening teen's attack. However, his strength won out over her speed and Kirishima managed to knock her out of bounds quickly before she could stop herself from falling out of bounds. She took the loss better than she did at the sports festival, eager to learn new things to create to combat hardness.
Deku and Misa were an interesting match too. Deku didn't pull his punches and challenged Misa on her speed and agility. Eventually her endurance got the better of her and Deku managed to push her out of bounds with a strong kick, but doing so he damaged his arm to the point he couldn't continue. "I wonder if there is ever going to be a way for that not to happen." Kaiya wondered to herself as Deku cradled his broken arm.
Meanwhile, Kaminari blinded Dark Shadow almost instantly and Tokoyami took his loss gracefully; knowing he had to train his monster more with light.
"Even though Deku won the fight, he is unable to continue. So we will continue with these four people." Aizawa explained as the list appeared again. Kaiya gulped loudly and realized if she won against Kirishima, she'd be up against the one person who didn't want to see her right now. "We'll do one fight at a time."
Bakugou vs Todoroki
Jirou vs Kaiya
Momo vs Kirishima
Deku vs Misa
Tokoyami vs Kaminari
Todoroki vs Kaminari
Kirishima vs Kaiya.
Aizawa regarded the next two fights carefully. Todoroki and Kaiya had truly not spoken a word to each other the whole week, barely looking at each other. Something had been said or done between the two to create this tension and he thought this would be a perfect teaching opportunity.
"Don't go easy on me now." Kirishima smiled, hardening himself as Kaiya lit her hands up in flame.
"Bad move Kiri." She whispered, sending flame attacks his way, weakening his hardening with every blow. "I have the endurance now."
Todoroki noticed the determination and confidence in Kaiya's eyes as she wielded her flames with ease. A surge of pride coursed through him as Kirishima weakened drastically. Kaiya had worn Kirishima out to the point that when she threw her earth attack at him, he was knocked out. She stood tall and proud as Kirishima was carried off the battlefield, proud that she didn't feel tired or sore from her attacks. "I'm getting stronger."She thought to herself.
Next, Todoroki and Kaminari took their place and braced themselves to start. Todoroki dodged multiple shock attacks from Kaminari, sliding around the arena away from the lightning. "You're quick dude, I'll give you that. But I can catch you." Kaminari smirked, eliciting a large bolt of energy towards Todoroki. However, a large ice wall blocked the attack and provided enough cover for Todoroki to trap the electric teen in an ice block. "Good fight Todoroki, I'm honored to even fight you." Kaminari shuddered in the ice while Todoroki melted his attack.
"Thank you Kaminari. You were a good opponent." Sudden realization hit Kaiya as the ice melted easily.
"God damnit." She whispered.
"Now you have to fight your girlfriend. I would not like to be you right now; she looks mad." The electric teen smirked, seeing Kaiya glare at him.
"You have no idea." Todoroki mumbled.
"Right, before we start. I would like to point out how perfect this matchup is. These two have been friends since day one, easily the top students of this class, very good fighters, strong and smart; and they have an emotional connection. But now they have to fight. They have to fight through whatever they are feeling to get the job done. Just like every hero, every day has to leave behind their personal lives and get their jobs done." Aizawa explained, judging the two teens in front of them. "Please begin."
Kaiya started first with a large earth attack while combining it with water; throwing mud at Todoroki who dodged it. He skated on an ice slide around Kaiya, throwing fireballs at her but she deflected them with wind attacks and lit her left side up with fire. "If you want me, do better Todoroki." She snapped, her words cutting deeper than the others around them knew. Todoroki's eyes widened as anger coursed through him as he lunged at her, fighting her hand to hand; his left on fire too. They fought furiously, their eyes burning into each other until Kaiya cut across Todoroki's face then threw him back a few feet.
"Did you learn these moves with Bakugou this week?" Todoroki challenged Kaiya who sent a wave of fire his way.
"Get over that Todoroki. Jealousy is not a good color for you." Kaiya retorted and jumped out of the way of a spiked icicle by her foot. Jumping back into Todoroki's space, the pair punched and kicked at each other with increasing speed.
From the side lines, the teachers were analyzing the fight intently. "I didn't know they knew hand to hand combat styles." All Might mumbled curiously.
"It's not a bad idea, heroes need multiple skill sets." Midnight answered him.
"They relied on their Quirks too much before; they must have realized that and began training a bit differently." Aizawa explained, his eyes burning into the impressive fight before him. They were definitely fighting from the heart right now, no punches were pulled. "Kaiya especially can be exhausted by her Quirk since there's multiple factors to it, so I'm glad she's using practical skills in place of her abilities."
"I love her powers and how she uses them; she's extremely powerful. I have to say though, I haven't seen combat skills like hers in a young hero for quite some time." Midnight mused, impressed by the elemental teen.
"Todoroki is quick too. I would think he would be the one to hold back; but they're both fighting intensely." All Might nodded, feeling the tenacity between the couple. "A lovers quarrel, you think?" He asked Aizawa, who froze at the accusation.
"They're dating?" He asked quietly to a shocked Midnight and All Might.
"You're kidding right? They've been dating for months. A little after their I-Island trip." Midnight informed the teacher. Aizawa looked sicker than usual as his heart thumped out of his chest. "Way to keep an eye on your kids."
"She's not my kid." Aizawa snapped a little too quickly.
"That is so not what I meant...interesting that you say that though." Midnight winked knowingly. Aizawa growled and returned his focus to the battle.
Kaiya swept a wave of water under Todoroki who mistimed the attack by a few seconds and slipped within the water. "I guess you're still angry with me." Todoroki managed to huff out, gaining his footing. Kaiya lunged and began punching Todoroki who barely blocked her attacks. Kaiya breathed heavily, trying to catch her breath from their hand to hand fight as anger coursed through her.
"What gave that away?" She snapped as she kicked Todoroki away and then trapped him in a tornado. "You hurt me Todoroki! I am not one to forgive easily."
"And yet you asked me to forgive him!" Todoroki snapped back, lighting up Kaiya's wind tunnel with his fire like he did at the exam with Aizawa. Kaiya gasped as she saw him walk through her tornado, his hand engulfed.
"Holy shit…" All Might cursed as the fire painted the arena.
"That's terrifyingly beautiful." Midnight gasped.
"Try being stuck in one of those; not so beautiful then." Aizawa growled.
"I did not say forgive him! You can't forgive and forget, but this anger will eat you alive if you don't put it to bed. I know that much! My anger almost killed me. I won't stand by and let it happen to you!" Kaiya screamed over the roaring fires. She threw a tidal wave Todoroki's way but he froze it easily.
"I can take care of myself." He snapped at Kaiya, lunging at her with flames.
"So can I and yet you continue to protect me! That's part of being in a relationship, we protect each other even if it's from ourselves!" Kaiya snapped, tripping Todoroki by shaking the earth and jumping on him to subdue him. "If you refuse to let him in your life, to prove that he loves you, that he's proud of you, you will regret it. I would kill for the chance to be with my parents even for a minute." Tears threatened but she refused to let them fall. Todoroki threw a fire wave at Kaiya, causing her to jump back, arming her hands with water.
"You're projecting again! Your parents didn't abuse you or push you to be someone you didn't want to be!"
"No! They just left me!" Kaiya screamed as she flooded the arena trying to trap Todoroki in mud, but he jumped onto an ice sheet away from the mud trap. Fire balls formed in her palms until Todoroki spoke again.
"You're on his side. He's taking you away from me. Just like Bakugou! I'm losing you!" Todoroki screamed back from his higher level. Kaiya gasped at Todoroki's new confession and let her fire dwindle . That's what he is so scared of.
He lowered himself down to the ground as Kaiya let her fire die. "I will always be on your side, Shoto. Always. I'm not going anywhere." Kaiya said simply, anger melting in her eyes as the shade of green returned. Todoroki's eyes grew wide with understanding but he threw an ice attack her way and she barely dodged, but the ice cut her leg, causing her to lose balance. "Damn it Shoto!" Kaiya floated higher up before he could attack again and she beradded him with earth. "I am with you, and nothing your father says will ever change that!" Kaiya's voice erupted over the many attacks flying around.
"You're lying!" Todoroki bellowed through the large ice wall erupting from him as Kaiya counter attacked with earth, causing both teens to be thrown back just before the out of bounds line.
"I'm not! Look at me!" Kaiya retorted and caught him in a wind tunnel; forcing him to meet her eyes. Through the anger and pain coursing through him, her green eyes met Todoroki and felt an overwhelming feeling of calm fall over him as she smiled."I am here."
"You're here." He sighed and shared a calm look with the girl in front of him. Silent moments passed as they shared a calm moment together, basking in the affection. Realization hit Todoroki as he felt many pairs of eyes burning into the couple and realized that there was still a fight to be won. Kaiya's eyes widened as she saw Todoroki's face twist into an evil smirk and felt the increasing temperature around her.
"Wait...wait!" Kaiya called out but before she could protect herself, a large fire wave pushed her just outside the arena, while Todoroki was still inside, catching his breath as the dust settled.
"And the winner is….Todoroki." Aizawa announced, shocked at the sheer power he'd witnessed from his students. The class was stunned silent, but they clapped and cheered after a few silent beats.
"That was amazing!" Kaminari cheered, followed by Shoji.
"I had no idea Kaiya was in so much control of multiple elements at the same time." He said, clearly impressed.
"They deserve to be top of the class after that." Jirou mused, Momo nodding next to her.
"They were in an actual fight while fighting. That has to be a first." Kirishima winced next to Mina.
"Yeah that's tough, but I think they've made up. Look." Mina said, pointing at the pair. Todoroki ran over to Kaiya who was regaining her feet. He offered his hand and she took it after a beat.
"Good fight." He mumbled, not meeting Kaiya's eyes.
"Great fight. I'm proud of us. And proud of you." Kaiya smiled finally.
He froze and found a smiling Kaiya looking at him. "Proud of me?" He asked.
"You beat Bakugou. And with your fire." Kaiya said, stretching her palms out. Todoroki blushed intensely. "I don't like fighting with you; like as a couple."
"Me either. Can we stop now?" He asked innocently as Kaiya chuckled slightly.
"I guess we will never see eye to eye on this; I won't push you if you're not ready for your father. I'm sorry I stepped over the line." She said, her eyes meeting Todoroki warmly.
"I'm sorry I snapped at you; you were only trying to help." He relented back, rubbing his neck shyly. "Just...be patient with me. I'm not as strong as you; I can only take on so much." Kaiya blushed at her boyfriend's compliment.
"You are strong. You'll get there. And I'm here if you need anything." She smiled, tucking her hair behind her ear. Todoroki kissed her temple softly, pulling her in for a hug.
"I missed that smile." He whispered, causing Kaiya to giggle.
Aizawa and Midnight stood off to the distance, the latter smirking. "Young love is so sweet." Midnight mused as Aizawa grunted. "Oh come on Shouta, lighten up."
"I guess she is basically my kid at this point. I just wish she had told me they were together. But it turned into a pretty good teaching moment anyway." Aizawa explained quietly. "I mean, look how happy she is now."
"Aizawa, you will make a great father one day practicing with your students." Midnight teased, leaving the teacher to call to his trailing students.
"Come on, it's getting late; you need to clean yourselves up." Todoroki and Kaiya joined their teacher quickly. "Feel better kids?"
"Yes." They both smiled knowingly. Aizawa crouched down to Kaiya's level and lowered his voice.
"We'll talk later, young lady." Aizawa whispered to Kaiya, who shared a worried look with Todoroki.
After dinner that night, Todoroki and Kaiya snuggled in her bedroom. The air was light and happy again which made Kaiya smile. "Hey Shoto?"
"Hm?" He replied through half closed eyes.
"Why did you get jealous over Bakugou? I've been meaning to ask you, but I didn't want to spoil the mood." She mumbled into his chest shyly.
"Truthfully? I didn't like the idea of you relying on another guy to be happy. Especially since I was the one that caused your unhappiness."
"Other people will make me happy in my life; it won't always be you."Kaiya reminded him.
"I know that. I was being stupid before. Just a lot of emotions I'm not used to bubbling up and screwing with my brain. I'm sorry."
"I mean..Bakugou is surprisingly a good listener." Kaiya mumbled and felt Todoroki tense under her. "But...he's not you."
Todoroki grumbled while an idea formed in Kaiya's head. "I wonder how good of a kisser he is? Like with his temper? Maybe it'll be...intense." She teased, circling Todoroki's chest with her finger.
"I'm already jealous, Kaiya…" Todoroki growled, tightening his grip on the girl.
"Bet he really knows how to take charge. But he is sweet too…" Kaiya continued, moving herself onto Todoroki's lap.
"I know what you're doing." Kaiya smirked and feigned innocence at Todoroki's exasperated face. Her lips claimed Todoroki passionately as the tension from the past week melted in their kiss. His hands found Kaiya's waist and ground her into him, eliciting a groan from her. Kaiya broke the kiss first, desperate for air as Todoroki turned his cooling temperature on himself.
"A little hot and bothered?" She breathed, fanning herself slightly as well
"A little. I got carried away." Todoroki replied, a creeping blush on his cheeks.
"I want more too. It'll happen." Kaiya smiled and pecked Todoroki's lips sweetly. "When we're ready." She added, bopping Todoroki on the nose.
"I should go before Aizawa finds me. Don't want to piss off your dad." He joked as Kaiya smacked him playfully.
"He'd kill you if he heard you say that."
"I wouldn't be so sure."
