AN: I am a horrible person for giving you the last chapter then disappearing but its hard to write when you are at a stand still about how to continue. I have come up with a few ideas and I hope you all like them. I would love feedback, good and bad. PLEASE!
Madison had known Happy was oh so very serious about practice and had gone home after another drink with the girls. But now as her alarm had gone off twenty minutes ago she found herself not wanting to leave the bed. She was dozing off again when she heard the bike pull up. Groaning she pulled the blankets up to her chin and waited for the angry biker to come stomping in, and stomping in he did. "What did I tell you?"
"I heard you before and I am up. I am just much too comfortable to get up out of this bed. Why don't you come join me?" She smirked under the blankets without looking at him. Happy's member twitched at the thought of climbing in and replaying last night but shit had to get done. Without responding to her, Happy yanked the comforter right off the bed and snatched Madison from her bed, tossing her over his shoulder. He carried her in to the bathroom and tossed her not so gently down in to the shower and turned it on not caring if it was hot or cold. Madison screamed and tried to climb from the shower only to be pushed back in.
"I told you to be up. That meant to be dressed and ready to go." Happy growled.
"Oh so sorry. Fucking asshole." Madison stood up and stripped her wet clothes off, tossing them roughly at the biker. She began showering right in front of him as if he wasn't there. Madison heard Happy mutter something before stomping from the room to leave her to shower in peace. She very badly wanted to take her time but knew he would come right back in and tear her from the shower. Quickly changing in to some work out gear she found Happy waiting outside in the yard for her.
"So tell me, what do you have planned today?" It was then that she noticed he was in a pair of basketball shorts, tanktop and sneakers.
"Sparring." He walked in to the yard and turned to face her. Madison stood with her hands on her hips and huffed.
"Seriously? Don't you remember kicking my ass before and getting in to trouble?"
"Not the same. Teaching you steps now." Madison rolled her eyes and joined Happy in the yard. He immediately took up a fighting stance. "Copy me." Madison did so but half assed. She could see the aggravation on the biker's face and tried not to laugh. Dropping his stance he walked over and positioned her correctly. "Keep it tight." He growled at her.
"Always do." She teased. Happy released her and took his place in front of her again.
For the next three hours Happy taught Madison simple moves to dodge and follow through with her hits. She had gotten a few good ones in and they were both relatively bruised but okay. Madison had collapsed on the ground once Happy had claimed they were done. She lay in the grass panting, her eyes closed.
"I didn't work you that hard." He grumbled.
"Certainly not as hard as last night." She muttered. Happy heard her and shook his head. Gaining enough strength to get up, Madison dragged herself in to the house and grabbed two bottles of water from the fridge. Happy had moved to the lounge chair. Madison handed him the bottle and plopped down herself. "What made you give in last night?" She asked curiously without looking at him.
"Dunno." Happy muttered before gulping down his water. After a few minutes Happy looked over at her. "Why'd you go for it?"
"Dunno." She answered. She sipped on her water. "Truthfully? I felt the attraction to you for awhile and I thought you did too. Correct me if I am wrong." She was answered with silence. "It's nothing you know. No feelings." Madison couldn't help but wonder if she was saying this more for herself or for the biker.
"Clearly. I don't do feelings so don't get any." Happy didn't like the churning of his stomach when she said this. "Look kid, I gotta go." He stood up and Madison quickly followed.
"Alright then." She was disappointed but didn't want to show it. She quietly followed him through the house and to the front door. Happy opened it and stood there eyeing her.
"Come to the clubhouse tonight. I have something I wanna give you. And no, before you even say it. It's not my dick." He smirked and Madison smiled, rolling her eyes. Happy surprised the both of them by leaning down and placing a kiss on her forehead before turning and leaving.
Madison spent the day shopping, something that always relieved any stress she had. She hated lying through her teeth to Happy but she wasn't up for some relationship that would probably end badly. He didn't seem like the kind of guy to be in one anyway so there was no point in kidding herself. Maddie rushed home to shower and slip in simple clothes; a pain of jean shorts and a A Day To Remember tank top paired with a pair of low top converse, before heading over to Teller-Morrow.
Pulling in to the parking lot she shivered as the cooling air hit her skin and she scolded herself for forgetting a sweater. Wrapping her arms around herself she jogged towards the door, eager to enter it's warm interior. "Hey." Madison heard somewhere from her left. She slowed but kept walking, not liking how no one was outside. Her eyes scanned the darkness until she found her mother walking towards her. Stopping in the middle of the parking lot she let her mother gather her into a hug.
"Hey Ma." She said as she hugged her back. "I thought you would be home with the boys."
"Tara's got them. I was hoping you would come here tonight. I went home earlier but you were out I guess. With Happy maybe?" She gave her daughter the typical mother look and Madison rolled her eyes.
"No, I was out by myself. I know, before you even start, I should have a patch with me but I just needed some alone time. It's been a rough few days." Gemma looped an arm through Madison's and began leading her towards the clubhouse.
"Very rough from these fingerprint bruises." She nodded to the few small dark shapes on Madison's arm. Maddie's face turned red and she cleared her throat.
"Not what I meant." She mumbled and Gemma laughed.
"Be careful baby. The Killer isn't the kind of man that does relationships or Old Lady's. He's all for the club and nothing else."
"I know ma. I'm just having some fun, keeping my mind off all of the shit going on." Once again she was lying but mostly to herself. She was trying to keep it emotion free.
"Alright, better get in there before he throws a table or something." She laughed and hugged her daughter again. "Love you baby."
"Love you too." Madison watched her mother until she disappeared into the darkness before entering the clubhouse. The place wasn't packed but there were plenty of people that it took a moment to locate Happy. He sat with his back towards her in a chair off to the side. Madison thought it was a little weird that he was sitting by himself in a corner but then again, Happy was weird himself. Giving a small wave to her brother she headed towards the burly biker. Jax called her name and she held up her hand telling him to wait a moment. Whatever he needed could wait a moment.
Approaching Happy she saw a feminine hand slide up to his shoulder and the god-awful red nails sink into the fabric of his t shirt. Halting only a few feet away she noticed the movement he was making with his hips and swallowed hard. She didn't need to go any farther to know what was going on or why he was sitting by himself. Abruptly turning Madison ran smack in to her brother's chest.
"I was trying to warn you." He whispered as he wrapped an arm around her and led her away from the scene. She could feel all eyes on her and wanted to disappear. Even with the tears in her eyes she could see a mix of sympathetic frowns and cocky smirks.
"It's fine Jackson. We aren't together or anything. I have to go. I'll see you later." She dove from under his arm and forced herself to walk at a normal pace until she reached the door, ignoring her brother's calls. Once outside she ran across the lot and hopped in her car. As soon as the door was shut she burst in to tears. Madison felt beyond foolish for thinking she could adapt to this life again, to keep a casual thing with someone she was already feeling something for. She sat in her car crying until she heard her name being shouted by a familiar deep voice. Looking in her rear-view she saw Happy coming across the lot. Firing up the engine Madison peeled out of the parking lot and sped down the road.
