Memories of the Orimura

Chapter 1: The whims of those who control the universe.

(?)

A dark expanse was filled with stars, there seemed to be a golden door that had 12 seals on it, each with 2 chains on them. 24 bonds to tie down the approacher of the gate on both sides.

In the center of the 12 seals lied a space for an object? It was curiously the size of a human.

"This is….most strange.." a voice calmly echoed into the hollow void.

"I…...I can't deny that." Another voice calmly echoed, but it seemed to have a malice behind it that was palpable.

"I wasn't expecting you to be here, is this your doing, Nyarthelop?" The calm voice rang out. Calling to the other malice filled voice.

"Not at all, it is not my style to make such...strange effigies, Philemon." Nyarthelop seemed confused at such an odd sight.

The two quickly made their physical presence known. Philemon adopted the form of a black haired and blue eyed man with a saber on his right side. Nyarthelop adopted the form of a red eyed and blonde haired man with a staff of pure gold in his hand. These seemed to resemble each other in dimensions and proportionally seemed symmetrical. They had key differences however. One seemed to be angelic, the other demonic. Had strong morals, had one wish.

"Hmm…..perhaps this is the result of those humans working with shadows?"

Philemon mused.

"Humans? Those people are Death itself! Are you really that foolish?"

Nyarthelop seemed to hurriedly yell.

"Perhaps...but I sense that….soon they will gain their Answer." Philemon curiously stated.

"You speak of the boy in 5 years?"

"Indeed."

"I see." Nyarthelop seemed to comtemplate leaving.

"Nyarthelop." Philemon called out.

"What now?"

"I wish to set a condition with you."

"What is it?"

"We both don't affect the boy's life for…..5 years after his birth?"

"Ah….hmm….I agree. He seems to be an interesting being." Nyarthelop left in a veil of shadowy miasma.

"Indeed he is. He is either the pariah or the messiah of this world….." Philemon mused to himself.

He stood staring at the gate for a few brief moments. It had the oddest feeling coming from it.

'The voice of a being calls.'

"Hmm…..no matter. All that is, will be. I'm curious where you choose your alliance, with me or Nyarthelop. Choose wisely, Ichika Orimura….." Philemon smiled briefly and vanished in a veil of pure cosmic filled energy.

5 seconds after his departure, a bang echoed throughout the whole of the void. It seemed as though something…..something tried punching through the gate as a response to the utterance of such a name.

5 years later.

(Orimura main manor.)

A dining room was set up and was inhabited by all of the main members of the Orimura, however the patriarch could not attend due to….certain personal issues.

A boy stabbed his fork into a piece of steak out of pure annoyance, he stabbed too hard it seems, his plate seemed as though it was about to shatter into a million pieces.

After all of the family's eyes shifted on him, he quickly spoke.

"Sorry, I missed the steak a bit. I'll try to make sure that doesn't happen again." Ichika gave a slight bow.

His older sisters seemed to shrug and focus on eating, his mother and aunts quietly went back to whispering.

Soon the boy adopted a look of disappointment and minor sadness. All of this would seem to be unnoticed by his family. But one of his elder sister's seemed to be keeping an eye on him.

Chifuyu Orimura watched her younger brother continue to feed himself with a saddened look upon his face….

'Maybe I should speak to him after dinner is done? I hope Ichika knows we care.'

Ichika continued eating until he was done. He seemed to glance to a chair near his mothers right side, a silver ornamated chair that radiated peace and quiet. He stared for a while, contemplating whether to ask his mother where the owner of said chair is….although he knew the answer already...it didn't seem to upset him too much anymore.

'Dad was too sick this time…..but there is always a next time! My dad's the strongest there is!'

He calmly stood a bit and then sat back down, instead of on the edge of his chair. He chose to sit on his behind while keeping his legs flat in front of him. Making sure to pull back into the chairs embrace.

'Tired…'

He reclined back until his chair was tilted backwards enough to touch the wall behind him. Making him face upwards diagonally. Although it seemed dangerous, and it was according to many a warning from his sisters and aunts. He still persisted, he liked sitting in an angle where gravity seemed to pull on him but not to the degree of topping him over.

He stared to the glass ceiling lining the dining room. A cool starry night. It seemed so wonderful and calm. Like a painting of the heavens peered back into his eyes. He smiled gently to himself.

Chifuyu Orimura saw every move the young boy made, watching like a hawk to make sure nothing happened to her brother whilst he was….reclining. She had told him multiple times that it was dangerous. That he could bring harm to himself or cause serious brain damage to himself. She relaxed herself slightly when she saw him look skyward and smile.

She was a tad alarmed when he turned his eyes and head toward her own eyes. He gently lifted a hand, made a v shape with his pointer and pinky figure.

'My eyes.' Chifuyu's brain auto translated to her. Ichika made sure his signs were clear.

He held the hand up and dropped the pinky to his palm, pointing his pointer finger skywards.

'Up there…...wow' Chifuyu's face adopted a slightly shocked expression to the view. Even though she had an ice queen persona, her face still melted into a gentler smile.

Ichika watched his sister Chifuyu show a rare smile. He slowly chuckled to himself, this brought on the attention of her and his other family, he simply shook his head but shot a brief wink at Chifuyu.

Chifuyu winked back while grinning in amusement. The two watched the sky right next to each other. Ichika grabbed Chifuyu's hand and lightly squeezed it. She knew the action well. It was the physical manifestation of his words:

'I can't believe how awesome that is!'

She firmly squeezed back.

'I know, quite a shocker, am I right?'

He tapped his pointer finger into her palm.

'Too right!'

Speaking up first, Chifuyu uttered:

"Let's go outside into the gardens, would you like that?"

"Fine by me." Was the reply to her question.

The two excused themselves easily from the table, they were finished eating so there was no point in sticking about.

They made their way to a koi pond alighted by lanterns on the walls of the compound. They held hands and layed down. Chifuyu briefly enjoyed the calm and quiet of the outside world while closing her eyes.

"Chifuyu-nee." Ichika called out.

"Hmmm?" Chifuyu's eyelids fluttered open.

"L-Look over there!" Ichika pointed towards the south.

Chifuyu started to look to where Ichika was pointing…..it seemed to be the city of Kyoto….but its general air space was occupied by fireworks of different colors and sizes.

"T-That's fireworks right! That means the festival will be in -"

"A week" Chifuyu finished his sentence. Ichika happily nodded along.

"Do you want me to take you?" Chifuyu suddenly quipped.

"Ummm….if you aren't bus-" Ichika shyly glanced to his right. Only to be met with white snow colored eyes that pierced his soul. His sister usually had a chocolate brown gradient in her eyes…..he must have really made her mad enough to use her reiki. He slowly started sliding to his left, to avoid his sister's wrath. But he was pulled back into her side. He feared the worst.

"Nonsense, I'm never busy when it comes to you." His sister smiled at him with pure joy and affection.

"Yes please, i would like to go with you to the festival!" Ichika smiled and nuzzled her cheek into hers.

The two slowly relaxed and watched the fireworks, slowly but surely, they both felt dormant and tired. They cuddled closer for warmth and slept under the starry night sky.

(Main manor balcony)

Izanami overlooked the pair with her sisters. Her son slept like an angel. She could make out his head gently rising and falling while he laid on his sisters shoulder. It was the cutest thing she could ever picture, the boy was lucky to be asleep otherwise she would pinch the mother loving hell out of his cheeks.

"They seem to be well, they might catch a cold with no blanket however."

Shizuka pointed out while snapping a finger.

Two attendants appeared behind her in black shrine priest clothing and followed her command. They took a large red blanket of cotton and fur and draped it over the children.

(Ichika's subconscious.)

A beautiful garden was in front of him, bathing his feet in the gentle streams of a pond.

"This is….really nice." Ichika muttered to himself.

The bushes to his left shook a bit, seeming to be startled by his voice.

Out of the bushes came two….bunnies? They were really cute. But they had such…..odd colors of fur, gold and silver? They twitched their ears at him and ran off to...someplace down the trail? Ichika felt a strange compulsion to chase them down, after all they were so...bizarre and different from everything in the area. He chased them until he reached where his home was supposed to be, but instead of Shiro Yashiki standing triumphantly there in its gentle presence. There was a door? The bamboo forest started fading into pure darkness.

Ichika could make out a door…..no….2 doors? One red and one dark blue?

"Do you….." He heard a voice? A calm one.

"Promise to…." Another voice? This one was scary. Like his sister when she first saw him trying to use her bow.

'Maybe that was not a great idea, I could have broken it from how hard i tugged the drawstring….man she was angry for 3 seconds but that was really scary' Ichika shivered slightly at his memory with Chisaya Orimura, a long ranged user of the Orimura arts. She wasn't angry at him though, she was concerned for his safety. Drawstrings snapping back at the user is a great pain.

His musing was cut dry after both voices rang at the same time.

""Take responsibility for your actions?""

'What….?'

Ichika was rapidly confused and just wanted to go so he uttered a simple:

"Sure."

""SWEAR BY YOUR NAME!""

'Who in the he-'

""SWEAR BY YOUR NAME!""

"Ok Ok, I get it."

He got nothing but contemplating silence. After clearing his throat, he finally spoke.

"I, Ichika Orimura, swear by my name to take responsibility for my actions….whatever they may be."

""Very well…...we shall see to it that you have aide during your Journey."" The two voices echoed again.

"Journey? What journey?"

"That is….for you to understand on your own." The calmer voice stated.

"Wait…..wait what do yo-"

"Enough! Just know that you need to find an Answer in the coming years. That is all."
