a/n: Huge apologies and yes, to the reviewer who pointed out this fic seemed to be missing a chapter or two, it was. I managed to recover this from an old draft. Again, apologies, I had pregnancy brain when this was first published, then baby brain, then I was just exhausted! Anyway , here it is. I may post a final chapter on it to wrap it up when I get a spare minute, but this should give it a fairly satisfying ending. (I would like to return and give it a bt more family life after!)
Nobody questioned where they were walking to. It just naturally came about that they were headed to the mansion. It seemed like they had been doing this for years and, in a way, they had. After every crisis, every celebration, it was where they could gather their thoughts and settle back into daily life. There and Granny's, of course. Emma was tottering slightly in her heels so Regina held out a hand to help steady her. Emma took it and gave a grateful smile. There was a slight blush in Regina's cheeks that nobody had ever seen before. Except Snow. She remembered the first time she had encountered the younger Regina and the glow she had in those days. It warmed her heart that she was finally able to see that again. Snow squeezed David's hand and whispered, "That right there is the hopeless romantic who taught me about the power of true love. I never thought I'd see her again." David squeezed his wife's hand back.
"And our daughter is glowing! Who would have guessed! You know, I think we should take Henry off their hands for the night. Let them erm, have some private time." David was slightly uncomfortable at his own suggestion but was no fool and certainly knew how a true love's kiss affected certain urges.
Snow opened her mouth in shock. "Charming you're right! They haven't had a moment alone!" She bounced up to Henry. "Henry, honey. How about we head over to Granny's and get some of that party food before the rest of the town has a chance!"
"Naa Grams, I'm good. I just wanna take a nap and get out this suit." Henry whined.
Snow tried again. "I think we should give your mothers some time to rest. They probably have a lot of catching up to do and you must be starving."
"Oh. Oh! Ewww! Grandma! Just.. yeah let's go. Ewww!"
Regina caught David's eye cautiously and was about to question where they were planning on taking her son but softened her expression when he nodded towards Emma and tilted his head to the side. She understood they wanted to give the pair some space and she smiled back mouthing 'thank you.' The women arrived at the mansion and Emma turned around panicking.
"I don't understand, Regina. Why didn't that happen the night of the bachelorette party?"
Regina pushed the door open and walked inside shrugging. "True love's kiss is renowned for being unpredictable. Why do you think us villains use it as a curse breaker so often!"
Emma kicked off the heels and plodded into the kitchen like she lived there. She found a bottle of wine in the fridge and poured them each a glass. "Yeah, I think you're gonna have to stop calling yourself a villain. But still, isn't it usually the first kiss that's the most magical?"
Regina swigged the wine thoughtfully. "It can be but it's not a rule of thumb. I think it depends on the situation. Also, we were both quite intoxicated and it wasn't particularly romantic."
Emma blushed crimson and groaned. "I'm sorry. I was so out of line for coming here that night. I shouldn't have put you in that situation. If I suspected for a second that you loved me, I never would have come over." The guilt wracked her. All this time she hadn't realized they were each other's true love.
"I am glad you came here, Emma. I knew what I was getting into and was prepared to deal with the consequences. But don't think I wont make you pay dearly for my suffering." She grinned mischievously and Emma knew she meant it.
"Noted. You have my word. I owe you some real charming brand romance." Her cheeks reddened again. It was awkward standing here now knowing what they did and yet neither really sure of what it all meant. "Will it happen every time now?"
Regina rolled her eyes. "I don't know, dear. You will have to ask your parents. I've only had that happen once with Henry, as you know."
Emma inched closer to the brunette and placed her glass down on the counter. "I didn't know that. I thought you had it with Daniel."
Regina shook her head and put down her own glass. "It's a lot rarer than you think."
Emma stepped closer and gently took Regina's hands in her own. There was no resistance. "I really don't wanna ask my parents about their love life. Can I just try something?"
Regina felt her breath hitch and nodded expectantly as Emma closed the gap between them. They may have had sex, shared true loves kiss and overcome countless battles together, but they hadn't had this. Emma looked intently at the brunette, caressed a palm over her cheek and looked deep into her eyes. She could see the fear, pain and uncertainty there. She could also now see the love and longing that she'd missed before. Her heart pounded and broke a little inside her as she tilted their heads and approximated her lips. She ghosted a faint kiss there and revelled in the tingling sensation up the back of her neck. Regina's lips parted gently and her eyes closed as the tentative kiss lingered between them.
The sensations were difficult to describe. There was hesitation on both sides as the kiss deepened but soon their innate powers combining with that of the true love magic subdued any doubts either had. Waves of pleasure and images of their closest moments together from the last six years flashed in their minds eye. They were aware of the sparks of light dancing around them and now Emma could properly place that feeling of being safe. It was with Regina. Those magical sparks were like magnets drawing them together and she knew she would have a hard time ever being distant from the woman. Regina felt the same magnetic pull and sensed they were having a profound shared experience. One that could not be taken lightly. She felt she should be terrified. Love like this was power, or weakness as her mother would often tell her. But she wasn't afraid. She was content and felt full for the first time in her life.
"How could we not know?" Emma asked as she lifted the brunette by the ass up onto the counter top trying to inch the blue gown up out of the way and failing.
Regina turned Emma around by her shoulders and started uncorseting the dress. It bothered her more than she cared to admit to herself that Emma was still wearing her wedding ensemble and there had been no wedding. Not that she wanted Emma marrying Hook, but because she'd fantasized about undressing the woman in this very gown the night they'd chosen it, only in said fantasy, it was their honeymoon. "I think we knew but we are both stubborn and afraid of getting hurt." She yanked a little harder than necessary on the ribbons and Emma huffed.
"Just poof me out of it."
Regina shook her head and leant in to whisper, "I want to undress you at least once."
Emma shivered as the words tickled her ear. She turned her head to steal a kiss over her shoulder. "I'm not planning on going anywhere, Regina. Not now I know I have you."
The brunette chuckled darkly but understood there was still a possibility of all this ending. The black fairy might be contained for now but nothing was ever easy. "I believe you and I don't plan on going anywhere either. It's just this town has a habit of interrupting precious moments. I'd like one day to savor every inch of the Savior."
The gown dropped to the floor as the last ribbon loosened. Regina noted the white lace tanga panties and matching strapless bra. Her eyes trailed down to silk stocking covered legs with a lace garter trim and her heart fluttered. "You are such a beautiful bride, Emma. I feel guilty that you didn't get to have the wedding."
Emma stepped out of the dress and took Regina in her arms. "Hey, don't do that. If anyone should be feeling guilty it's me. I messed up so bad and nearly lost everything. If you hadn't been the bigger person and made the first move, we wouldn't be here now. I love you Regina. I have done for a long time but I didn't think I had a chance with you, let alone that you might love me back. I know it's not exactly normal the way we came together and that the outfit is a bit of a slap in the face, but it's just material shit. If you want, we can do this properly at some point. I would do anything for you."
"And I would for you. To hell and back, although I'd prefer it if we kept out of there for the foreseeable future."
"Agreed. I love you."
"I love you."
They kissed again and Emma found the zipper on the blue gown. Regina shuffled out of it without breaking the kiss and the pair embraced in their underwear for what felt like an eternity. Regina cast a spell and Emma felt the magic in the air.
"What did you do?"
"I just put a shield up. I'm sure Snow and David will keep Henry occupied but you know what he's like for sneaking off. I don't want to take any chances." She took the blondes hand and led her up the stairs.
"Good call." Emma smiled to herself as Regina led them away. The sight of their hands entwined and Regina's ass swaying in a navy g string made her feel warm, fuzzy and ridiculously horny. "Damn. So that's what the set looks like. I always wondered."
Regina paused on the stairs not sure at first what Emma was referring to then it clicked. A smug grin pulled at her cheeks. "I've only used this set once before."
"Oh I know. I remember it was under your navy silk blouse and pencil skirt about four years ago just after Neverland. You only ever use black usually and that's why I remember it. It's actually the first thing I thought when I saw you pick out the dress."
Regina pushed open her bedroom door and grinned with her hands on her hips. "Considering you never thought you had a chance with me, you seem to have spent an unhealthy amount of time wondering about my underwear choices."
Emma shrugged. "Insanely unhealthy. I'm sick. But you know, I think you get off on turning people on with your risque outfit choices and top buttons that always seem to be missing."
"I may have worn a few of those things on the days I knew we were scheduled to meet. I was never quite sure you were looking but it amused me to imagine you were." She perched on the edge of the bed and crossed her legs. "Strip."
Emma stood defiantly at the foot of the bed. "I thought you wanted to undress me."
"I changed my mind after your last omission."
Emma sensed that wasn't entirely true but the way Regina was already undressing her with her eyes was enough to make her obey. She placed one foot on the bed and slowly began the process of removing her first stocking. Regina watched intently willing herself not to touch. Oh, the fun she was going to have with this woman. The games they would play. She was certain Emma would be a mindblowing lover now they knew where they stood with each other. Not that their first time together was bad, just filled with fear and anger. The second stocking rolled down smooth pins and Emma removed her leg from the bed. She turned her back on the woman watching her and unclasped the bra. Holding it in place, she turned again and revealed her bare breasts with a coy smile before dropping the fabric to the ground. She hooked her thumbs through the waist band of her panties and swayed her hips from side to side before coaxing them down her legs and throwing them at Regina.
Regina caught her eye and bit her lip. "Good show. Just one tiny detail..." She stood and reached behind Emma's head and unpinned the mass of curls. Blonde locks fell messily framing Emma's face and Regina allowed herself to swoop in for another kiss. She pressed herself against bare skin and pulled the blonde towards the bed. Emma made quick work of removing the navy lingerie and lowered herself carefully until their skin made contact.
Immediately sparks of excess magic charged the space around them. Regina grabbed Emma and pulled her impossibly closer, clawing at her back as a knee came to meet her mound. They fit together like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle and the magic only served to heighten every single brush of skin, light touch and butterfly kiss. Love was the mutual sentiment as Emma's fingers slipped between their bodies and found a soft, slick nub. Love was the mantra repeated as Regina curled two fingers up inside the savior. Love fluttered their stomachs and floated them off the bed as they slowly edged towards the first of many orgasms for that evening. But "fuck" was the only word either of them screamed for the next two hours.
