As the girls head towards the loft Santana insists on taking a detour. Both girls were surprised when she wanted to sit in Central Park. She sat on a bench and closed her eyes as the cool breeze swept across her face, a small smile playing across her lips as she commented on the great weather.

"Do you come here often, San?" Brittany questions as the girls continue their walk "Not normally Britt but it's such a peaceful place maybe I'll start coming here to read sometime"

Rachel grabs Brittany's sweater as Santana carries on walking "You think she remembers?"

Brittany shakes her head "I don't, she didn't get sad when talking about coming here and you know how special this park is for them." Rachel nods as the girls finally head home.

"Lucy" Her father calls from outside her room

"Go away" The blonde responds grabbing her pillow tighter

Russell inhales deeply before knocking once more "Please let me in, I promise I'm bothering you for a good reason"

Intrigued, Quinn unlocks her bedroom door allowing her father to enter. He takes a seat at her desk "Lucy" He exhales "A few things. First of all, you need to know what I did for this family, at the time was necessary and I'd do it again in a heartbeat, if it meant that you, your sister and mother were safe. The truth is, I tried but couldn't obtain clearance for Santana fast enough and we needed to be out of New York before everything shut down. We had every intention of heading back sooner but then your mother got sick and then Franny took a turn and we couldn't risk it. We had the best doctors here. What was only supposed to be a precaution turned into a five year hiatus."

"I don't understand why we had to stay here for five years? Why couldn't we just go back?"

Russell exhales "Because it was my department that released the deadly agent into the general population"

Quinn's eyes widen as she stands "So this...This was all your fault?"

Her father nods "We've been working around the clock trying to find an antidote or something to help fix this mess, we're on the final stages of a vaccine, hopefully it will help"

"I can't believe you" The blonde furrows her eyebrows as he continues

"That is my cross to bear, not yours and trust me I am paying for it. I truly apologize for handling the moving situation the way I did, for not allowing you to say goodbye or even letting your friends know you were safe. I hope you know that I would never do anything to intentionally hurt you or your relationship with Santana. I know in the beginning I wasn't your biggest supporter but I admit…..She grew on me"

"She has a talent for that" Both Fabray's laugh as Quinn wipes her eyes "I know you've lost five years of your life because of me and I can never get them back for you but hopefully this will...begin to help"

Russell hugs the blonde, kissing the top of her head before handing her an envelope.

Her eyes widen as she pulls out the ticket, card and keys. Quickly packing a bag she heads towards the private plane, hoping that her friends are okay and praying that Santana will forgive her.

With all of her memories of Quinn erased, she almost feels like a new person, carefree with no sadness to hold her back. Santana spends the next few weekends getting acquainted with the city again.

She stops in front of a building, smiling before heading in. It's a strange feeling, looking around, a part of her is almost embarrassed at how long she's lived in New York yet never took the time to come here and then there's the small part of her that feels serious deja vu, almost like she's been here before.

With her headphones firmly in place, she silently walks around, taking everything in from the art hanging on the walls to the tall dinosaur bones constructed together perfectly.

Then she stumbles on one piece that takes her breath away. Taking a seat in front of the art piece she places a hand over her heart. The white swirl of the brush strokes over the blue canvas with the yellow of the moon stirs something inside the Latina.

She's seen pictures of this countless times but to witness it in person, it was almost life changing. She smiles tilting her head.

The brunette turns her head to the side, her breath hitching once again. As the crowds part there stands a beautiful blonde talking on the phone, dressed in a baby blue dress with a white cardigan and white flats, her hair is short and choppy but what truly captures Santana, are her eyes. A deep hazel green almost like sea glass when the light hits them.

Van Gogh had nothing on this girl.

Santana motioned to remove her headphones and when she looked back up from her phone, the blonde was gone.

"Rachel!" Santana yells slamming the loft door before removing her shoes "You won't believe this shit, so I was at the Met walking around right? There was this hot ass girl who was on the phone and when the crowds parted….It was seriously like some romcom movie shit and then….."

The rest of her sentence trails off when she notices the same blonde sitting on the couch with Rachel.

"Santana" Rachel says standing "Come sit down"

"Rachel" The brunette responds moving towards the couch "Who is this? What's going on?"

The blonde sniffles as the tears begin once again, Rachel nods "This is Quinn"

Santana's eyes widen as she studies the blonde "Why is she crying? Is she okay? Does she work with you and Britt?"

"No Santana, she's a friend of ours, you know her too"

"Me? I know her? Rachel. Trust me, if I knew her, I'd remember. You wouldn't be forgetting a face like that"

The blonde laughs wiping her eyes "Still a sweet talker"

"Hey guys!" Britt smiles entering the loft before her eyes widen "What's…..Whoa"

Santana laughs as Brittany sits next to her on the couch, staring at Quinn "San, you know how this is?"

The brunette shakes her head "Rachel seems to think I do but I can't place her. Was she on the Cheerios with us, Britt?"

Quinn sits back watching this all unfold, unable to believe that the love of her life does not remember her or what they had. Before she gets an idea, quickly standing she retreats to Santana's bedroom. When she emerges, the blonde hands the brunette a picture

"This is us, San" The blonde sniffles as Santana looks at the picture.

It's them in Central Park a few months later, Quinn wanted to surprise Santana with a picnic in the same place they had met. The photo shows Santana laying in the blonde's lap, her eyes partially closed as the sun blinds her, meanwhile Quinn's eyes are almost glowing as she snaps the picture of the pair.

Santana smiles before handing it back toQuinn "It's a cute picture no doubt and I'm not sure where you got this in my room but I'm sorry I don't remember you. What was your name again?"

"Quinn" The blonde whispers as Santana nods, repeating the girl's name as if trying to place her "Quinn...And how did we know each other exactly, did we meet at Columbia maybe?"

Rachel begins "Santana, that's what I was trying to tell you, Quinn and you…."

"Sanny" Brittany interrupts "Can I talk to you for a minute?" She nods as the two head towards Santana's bedroom "What's up Britt?"

"San" Brittany begins, taking a seat on Santana's bed "You and Quinn we're together all through college. You got engaged a year after graduating and the morning after you proposed, Quinn was gone. When the world went on lockdown her family took her and none of us could find her"

Santana lays back in complete shock, how could she just forget a huge part of her life….Wait a minute

"How?" She breathes out and Brittany nods

"Mike. He was running a study at the university and you wanted to forget everything about her and your relationship. You were so hurt and lost when she left…."

Santana throws herself back onto her bed holding her face "That is a lot of information to get in thirty seconds…..How the hell could I do that to her B? To me? We're you guys with me when I did all that?"

"We were Sanny, Mike made sure we were there, everytime. You were such a sad panda. Rachel tried to talk you out of it a lot of times but you know how you are when you get an idea stuck in your head." Brittany smiles as Santana sits up

"Hey I have an idea why don't you spend some time with her. Maybe she will tell you why she left"

Santana smiles "Thanks but that's a little too fast and a little too much for me to take in right now. If she did hurt me as badly as you're saying why would I want to see her?"

Brittany shrugs as if it is the most obvious thing, "Because you love her, silly"

"No" Santana shakes her head "Britt, the old me might have but this me doesn't know or remember anything about her. Can you please go out there and tell them I'm sorry but I'm just not interested?"

Brittany nods, sadly as both friends embrace before heading back towards the living room

A few hours later Santana merges from her room only to find her two roommates huddled on the couch watching a movie

"Hey, there you are'' Rachel says, pausing the movie as Brittany lifts the cover for Santana. She smiles before taking a seat in between the two.

"You okay?" Brittany asks as Santana shrugs, laying her head on the girls shoulder

"I guess. I mean, it's a lot to take in, it's almost like I had another life, a great one from what everyone has told me but I can't remember it. Quinn seems great and sure she's hot as hell"

Both friends laugh "But if she just up and left me and our life together how do you say fuck it let's be together and forget you ripped my heart out"

"I understand Santana" Rachel exhales deeply "But believe it or not, we know Quinn and we all know how much she loved you, loves you? Anyways, from what she's told me, she was forced to leave in the middle of the night. Trust me, I'm sure she gave them hell. Russell is…."

"Evil" Brittany says absentmindedly playing with the throw pillow.

"Yes" Rachel nods "He can be but he loves his family and I'm sure he just wanted to protect them"

"Are you defending her for leaving?" Santana sits up

"No" Rachel says shaking her head "I'm just trying to help you see her side, she didn't choose to leave and from what she's told me she left as soon as she could, to come back to you"

"Sanny" Brittany tugs on the girl's arm "You and Quinn were the most beautiful unicorns together. I know she hurt you real bad but maybe you can think about giving her a chance you know? To explain what really happened?"

"Maybe" Santana nods, turning her attention back to the tv, both friends sense the conversation is over for now and not to push further. Rachel hits play passing the popcorn towards Santana as Britt snuggles further into her.
