"Hello?"

The sweet sound tears Santana from her thoughts as she walks down the busy sidewalk.

"Hi" Is all she can muster but it's enough to cause a sharp inhale on the other line.

"Hi Gorgeous"

Santana smiles, ducking her head. Normally the brunette was the sweet talker and it took a lot to make her blush but here she was, standing on the sidewalk as thousands of people passed her.

"You always answer your phone like that to strangers?"

The blonde laughs "You're not a stranger besides, I'd know that voice anywhere. To what do I owe the pleasure?"

Santana nods, quickly entering her apartment building "I've been thinking"

"That's scary"

"Stop," Santana laughs. "Maybe I'd be interested in having lunch with you. Not to rehash anything but just because we're both hot and" She inhales "Because I'd like to get to know you"

The other side of the line goes silent as a soft laugh is released "I'd love that San. I'd love to ditch work and meet you right now but I'm about to head into a meeting. Can I please text or call you later tonight?"

Santana smiles nodding, "Absolutely, you have my number now."

"Thank you" Quinn says as Santana takes a seat on her bed "For what?"

Quinn laughs, lowering her voice "For letting me hear your voice and for giving me something to look forward too"

"I'll talk to you later, Quinn"

"Bye San"

That goodbye sent shivers through Santana. She didn't know if it was the tone of how Quinn said it or the thought of her sitting in her meeting thinking of the brunette but whatever it was, she was excited to see where this could go.

Quinn texted Santana the very next morning to set something up but with their hectic work schedules,

Sadly the lunch date had to be postponed for a few days. At first Quinn was disappointed but the days seemed to fly by and the girls would text often, she was grateful for that…

"What?" Santana annoyingly answers her phone catching Quinn off guard

""Hi" She responds softly, papers rustle on the other end before the line goes silent. Quinn double checks her phone making sure the two are still connected "Are you there, Santana?"

"Quinn…umm.Hi. Sorry about answering like a bitch I thought you were someone else"

Quinn laughs "We'll I'm glad I'm not that person. Do you have a minute to talk or should I call back?"

"No!" Santana immediately responds "No, Now is a good time."

"I wanted to see if you wanted to have lunch in central park today? I was hoping we could do lunch before scheduling dinner?"

Santana sits back in her chair "Having second thoughts about dinner with me?"

"No way. To be honest I was being a little selfish. I've been missing you and just wanted to see you sooner"

Closing her laptop she reaches for her coat "I'm in. I can meet you there in thirty? What should I pick up?"

"Don't worry about it, San. I'll grab something and meet you"

Santana arrives at the park first. Leaning her head back she enjoys the warmth of the sun, the seasons are changing and it's been starting to get cold. Her eyes closed, grateful today was a nice, warm day.

Once regaining her composure she begins to walk around the park, debating on calling Quinn to see where they should meet.

After a few minutes, she sees Quinn sitting on a blanket meticulously unloading the food. She smiles reaching the blanket causing Quinn to look up. The sun breaks through the trees at the perfect moment as the rays bounce off hazel eyes. Santana's heart begins to race and her vision blurs, dropping to a knee she squeezes the cups of coffee in her hands. Quinn immediately moves to help her

"Are you okay Santana?"

Santana looks up, brown eyes meet hazel and the world seems to dissolve. She nods her head before handing Quinn her coffee.

"Sorry. I don't know what the hell just happened. Maybe I tripped?"

Quinn smiles, reaching for her coffee. A short time later, after all the Chinese food has been cleaned up, the two lean against the giant tree, enjoying the gentle breeze that surrounds them.

"So" Quinn begins. Santana hums in response smiling, keeping her eyes closed "So?"

"Are you free for dinner this Friday night?"

Opening her eyes, Santana looks to her left "Dinner would be great, Quinn but can we have lunch together one more time first please? I'm not ready and Dinner is kind of stressful."

"That's okay San. No rush. But If I remember correctly You said I only got one lunch with you and not to get too excited….Two lunches must mean I'm special huh."

"You wish Quinn" Santana scoffs standing, collecting the empty containers

"We both know it's true" Quinn winks, throwing her small fist up in triumph which causes Santana to turn and laugh.

Quinn intently stared at the clock for the next two days. Having lunch with Santana on Wednesday was great but it only reminded her that she had to wait another two days before seeing her again. Luckily, work had been keeping her busy and she knew the days would fly by.
