Foreword: Alrighty. Glad to see people enjoying Julie. But as always, this is a train of thought story. Just hope people will continue to do so.

Arthur woke up with his pip-boy screen pressing into his face, with a noticeable lack of hard ridge. After pulling it away from his face, he saw what looked like a reinforced scroll attached to a wristband. Then he remembered last night. His Pip-boy 3000 seemed to have modified itself to conform more to the world's technology. That was one thing he couldn't explain properly. Or at all. Sighing and rubbing his face, the screen shut itself onto the wristband and he felt the weight difference.

"That feels off…and it's morning." Arthur stretched and looked down. Julie was curled up with a small puddle of drool formed on the pillow. He smiled and got down quietly, and put on his helmet. Walking over to the door, he opened it and the noise woke Julie up.

"...Marshmallow! What? Where am I?" Julie said with a line of drool connecting to the puddle, her ears drooping slightly as she stirred.

"The staff bunks. Do you not remember much of last night?" Arthur said as he leaned against the doorway.

"There was that bomber we caught?"

"Oh shit. Right. Damn, was it a late night." She stretched as Arthuyr left the room and entered the break room. As he started the coffee maker, he double checked the Pip-Boy scroll for lack of better terms. There didn't seem to be much change of function outside of it being able to come off and act as an actual scroll.

The Sheriff walked in with a mug and a donut, and sat at the table in the room, reading something on his scroll. Arthur grabbed the finished coffee and refilled the Sheriff's, and then filled up a mug for him and Julie. She stumbled in a few minutes later, grabbed the mug and shuffled over to the table. Arthur took sips after removing his helmet. "Any word on the ticket?"

"Yeah. You got a scroll?" Arthur pulled the scroll off his wrist and waived it. "Got a number here." Seemed similar to a normal phone number to Arthur. Surprisingly it was a Vegas area code. After sending it over to the sheriff, he got a message that had a golden rabbit symbol.

"Just so that way you have someone to ask questions. Make sure to call if you are heading back this way." She said with a small smile. Arthur blanked at that for a moment before he nodded, smiling.

"Of course." The next message he received was from the Sheriff, with a travel ticket attached.

"Bullhead will leave soon, so you may wanna go ahead and head out."

Arthur nodded, and said after he finished his coffee "If you guys ever need help, just give me a call."

Arthur boarded the Bullhead after examining it for a moment. Admittedly the Bullhead design wasn't so bad. It had a decent cargo space, but seemed primarily designed as a personnel transport. After getting in, Team NDGO arrived and sat on the other side of him. The girls said hello, and sat down. It seemed as if the previous night's activities were forgotten, or they didn't care that much about it aside from the initial commotion.

As they sat there, and the Bullhead started to rise, one of team NDGO, the red one who he never really caught the name of, started to look like she wanted to say something, but didn't. After a moment, Arthur decided to be the one to open the conversation. "So you four know my name, but I'm afraid I only know Nebula's. May I ask the rest of you yours?"

After a short moment, with the four girls looking at each other, they looked back at Arthur with the yellow one going first amongst them. "I'm Dew Gayl."

The other purple one spoke next. "Gwen Darcy. Nice to make proper acquaintances." Arthur responded with "A pleasure."

The last one, the red one, spoke next. "My name is Octavia Ember. If I may ask, what happened to your equipment? When we first met, you had a high caliber rifle, then next you had a pistol and a…shock baton, I think. Now you have two revolvers. But you don't seem to have any luggage."

Arthur laughed and gestured to his pistols, holstered on his thighs. "I can…store extra gear into my body without much issue. I can't explain how aside from that it gets added to my overall mass. I have more than one weapon, and am quite proficient with all of them." Arthur demonstrated it by quickly equipping the anti-material rifle, and then putting it back, causing it to materialize in his hands and then disappearing shortly after.

"Now, if I could ask you all a question. What is the city of Vacuo like?" The girls thought for a moment, and then Nebula spoke up. "There is the kingdom which is mostly desert, but there are also multiple oases in the desert where towns and cities are founded. The city itself was found on the largest oasis, which also had several naturally occurring dust deposits, and a vast underground aquifer. Sadly due to the great war, alongside prior actions, most of the kingdom is…adverse to human or faunus life. The government is weak and most ignore them, but they have some power in the city itself."

"Most people look to Shade academy as the true government, but they can only do so much, due to the lack of manpower." Nebula trailed off, unsure what else to say before Dew spoke next. "You asked for the city, so there are districts to it that are different. Think of it like rings, with quality of life being on the downslide the further from the city center you get to. The interior of the city is similar to Vale or Mistral, from what I have heard, anyway. Towards the walls you will feel the sandstorms more prominently."

"Not to mention the growing unrest from the Crown." Gwen said. "Not helping the current Council Government is the Crown, who claim to be descendants of the ancient warlord Malik the Sunderer. The teachers at Oscuro say not to give them too much credit and to focus on our education, but still."

Octavia didn't seem to want to add anything else, but Arthur knew he would have to see what the situation on the ground was like. "How about I tell you ladies about where I came from. Wonderful place known as the Mojave, and this little town known as Goodsprings."

After about an hour, the group landed in Vacuo with Arthur wrapping up his tale. "...and after stomping out the local Powder Gangers, the town decided to celebrate. I can't say how it went, as I left shortly after the party started to start my own journey. Stopped by there after everything, and it seems to be that they were doing good. Managed to help again by managing to lower the taxes for the town."

The four girls, having been Vacuan grown, were used to death. But not the casual disregard for others lives that Arthur had. Him describing walking in and shooting Joe Cobb for disrespecting Trudy and seemingly treating it as if it was just taking out the trash. Feeling the Bullhead touch down, they got up and quickly moved out of the vehicle. Arthur got out shortly after, with the girls already moving down the street.

"Maybe I shouldn't talk about life in the Mojave casually…" Arthur rubbed the back of his helmet and sighed. And then looked around the bullhead's landing pad. He was in what looked like a middle class portion of the city, on a sort of artificial hill. Looking around, he saw that the value decreased towards the exterior of the city, and it seemed as though it got more developed on the interior.

Making sure he didn't leave anything near his seat, and then thanking the pilot for the ride, he set off into the city, and began to explore. As he walked, he saw the occasional person dressed in colorful clothes, and carrying a weapon on their back, waist, or hip. Checking his lien amount, and comparing it to the prices of most stores, he grimaced behind his helmet. Whilst he may be able to buy some items, he would quickly lose a lot, if not all, of his cash. So he set out to find a jewelry store, hoping to find a proper buyer for silver and gold. After an hour of searching for a proper store, he headed in and set his helmet on his waist as he looked around.

There seemed to be a few patrons, such as what looked like a female huntress wearing a red dress, and two short swords on her waist, and arrows as well. Raising an eyebrow at it, Arthur went to the counter and spoke to the attendant. "Howdy there. Do you fellas buy gold or silver?"

As he bartered with the attendant, he saw a girl with dark skin and Green hair, what looked like dual pistols holstered on her waist, walk in and ask about rings. As he finished and went for the door, pocketing a few thousand more Lien as he left, he saw the green haired girl do something that made the attendant seem to be distracted, smiling even before she took a fancy looking ring and walked out the door, with Arthur and the red dressed woman watching her. Seeing someone that had the word "interesting" written all over them, he followed, blending into the crowd as he followed.

Eventually she turned down a side road, and Arthur followed, following her down several alleys until eventually he arrived at a dead end, with the green haired girl looking around her before he coughed into his hand, helmet still at his waist. She turned with her hands going to the handles on her waist. "I wouldn't do that unless they're suppressed. I don't hear gunshots elsewhere."

"What do you want?" She stayed tense as she took a step towards Arthur. He looked at her and gave her a proper look. "For you not to shoot for one. And two, how you stole from a man whilst he smiled right at you. Not many thieves or sleuths can do that."

She stayed tense as Arthur heard movement from down the alley heading their way, and Arthur motioned for her to stay quiet, and approached slowly, drawing a stealth boy. Emerald took a step back before he handed her one, and pushed his own after showing her what to do, and he disappeared from sight. She hesitated for a moment before she activated it and she herself disappeared from sight, but was still there.

Seconds later the same woman in red rounded the corner and looked for someone, and after a few seconds continued on. Waiting for a few more seconds, Arthur deactivated the Stealth-boy and spoke into the alley "Please come here, I'll deactivate it early for you."

A few moments later, Arthur felt a hand grab his, and feeling the wrist, he pressed the correct buttons on the Stealth Boy and deactivated it. "Now, I know I haven't earned your trust, but how about a meal and a few questions on me?"

"Why?" She asked, confusion written clearly on her face.

Arthur shrugged. "Answer me this. How old are you exactly?" She shrugged. "Don't know exactly. Close to 16 or 17 maybe."

"Alright. Then consider it this. You're street smart, but clearly need help when it comes to money. I'm relatively well off, and I'll make sure you don't go hungry regardless, but I'm…new around here and could use some help."

She gave it some thought before she nodded, and seemed to relax."Name is Arthur Kane. You?"

"Emerald Sustrai."

A/N:

Alright. It's almost the end of november. And I spent more days on this than most other ones, and realizing that this is probably for the best. Yes, the previous ones were cranked out in a day. About 3 pages in word doc, 1964 words or so. This is closer to what I want to make. As always, please leave a review to let me know how it is going.

Omake:

On Earth, in New Vegas's very own Lucky 38, ED-E lost track of a signal. After 48 hours of the signal not being re-established, a failsafe program was established. ED-E left the penthouse's computer suite and sought out Raul, who was almost done packing for his move from the Lucky 38 to the old H&H Tools Factory, to establish his own little workshop. When ED-E found Raul, He beeped several times to get the old man's attention.

"Eddie? What do you want? The Boss not back from his trip or something?" When he was met with silence for a second, he gave ED-E his full attention, and then he heard Arthur's voice, but it didn't sound happy. "File Codename Vaquero." A deep shuddering breath was heard before it continued. "Raul, Please make sure you are alone while this is playing. This is important."

At that, Raul said "Hang on little amigo. Let me close the door." After doing so, he sat down and ED-E resumed the playback.

"Alright. This is important, and you're the only one I know for a fact that can ensure these get to those who they are intended for. These are the last words, and my audio will. Recorded about…9 months following Benny putting a round in my head. June 28th." Raul realized this was recorded less than a week ago, if his math skills were not rusty. "For you Raul, you will get access to the entirety of the Lucky 38 for parts and research, but it'll be shared. So please don't scrap it until the others get their share." Raul heard the small laugh in Arthur's voice, and smiled to himself.

"Also you get any weapons from my stash you need to do this task. I'm sorry, my friend. But this may be the only way to get closure for everyone. And Eddie got a rifle round through him once, and didn't want to risk it again. Raul, you yourself may shoot yourself down, and think you are not good enough to be your younger Vaquero self. But I know that outside of you, few others could do this task. You truly are one of the best gunslingers I know, and I am proud to have had you be my friend. Even if you never saw it yourself, you were happy to be back on the road. If you turn this down, I'll understand, but please my friend. I know Cass should probably be nearby, but she shouldn't need to hear this until everyone has heard theirs."

Raul could hear the pain in him asking, but was wondering something. "Eddie, amigo, how many recordings did The Boss make before this?" ED-E's beeps told him that there were about 16 prior versions of this recording, each time Arthur was heading out on a mission where they likely wouldn't hear from him for a long time. If Raul could still trust his memory, then that would mean this started after his walking of The Divide. "Fuck…" Sighing, Raul dug back into his stuff and found his old Vaquero attire, and started to change.
