Revenge of the Bleeding Heart

Chapter 1~ Pirate Versus Blacksmith

I'm Captain Morgan Kelly of the Bleeding Heart...once Natalie O'Connell.

I had just finished changing into my formal clothing...well...it was good enough. I wore a light cream colored dress with gold trim and wore a beautiful red ruby gem around my neck. I had pulled up my hair into a bun and took out a fan to match my dress. As I looked over myself in the mirror, I realized that I reminded myself of my old friend Elizabeth Swann. "Perfect...no one will recognize me," I whispered to myself. If anyone had seen the clothing I wore beneath the dress, I would have been busted. I kept my sword under there...as well as a loaded pistol.

I was a pirate now...a captain of my own ship. Had been like this for six years. I lived a lonely life, but my crew was always there to help me.

My goal was to find someone...a certain Sparrow to be precise. I was going to have sweet revenge on him for ditching me in Tortuga. I wasn't some whore like the rest of them...though many had thought I was.

After Jack left, I sought help from Captain Francis Torrington. He knew more about Jack Sparrow than anyone else I could find. He brought me back to Isla de Muerta and helped me awaken someone from the dead...

My story went on and on after that, and for six long years, I was trained as a pirate, which meant being branded and tattooed. Not that I cared. I was proud of who I had become. If I wasn't a pirate, I would have ended up working as a barmaid or a whore in Tortuga. There was no way that was going to happen to me...especially after dealing with my broken heart. That's what I named my ship after...MY own bleeding heart.

Her sails were a beautiful cream color, but were ragged around the edges. I made her one of the fastest ships in the Caribbean...just so I could find Jack. I had made it known who I was, and most feared me. However, I hadn't caught sight of Mr. Sparrow for so long. He must have heard of my ship by now.

"Captain, we're nearing Port!" Matthews shouted. I quickly ran out onto the deck and looked ahead. There was the first place I had ever laid my eyes upon in this world. I felt a tear come to my eyes, but I held it back. Ever since that morning Jack Sparrow left me, I had never cried. Any tears that formed never left my eyes.

I suddenly felt a hand on my shoulder and looked up. There was the man I loved now. He had shoulder length dark hair pulled back in a ponytail and the greenest eyes I had ever seen. He was only a few years older than I. "Are you okay?" he asked softly.

"I'm fine, Chris...thanks," I whispered as I kissed him gently on the lips and looked back at Port Royal. I regained my composure and climbed up onto a crate with Chris' help. "Alright, everyone, we know why we came here!"

"Aye!" they all shouted back to me with smiles.

"We're here so I can get some information out of William Turner about Sparrow's whereabouts!"

"Aye!" they all shouted.

"You all are to search the island, for Jack could be right under our noses. We are all to meet back here at sundown. That gives you the entire day. Watch out for Norrington though. You know what a bastard he is. Don't forget, if I don't return, meet me in the cove on the other side of the island. So...off ye go!" I shouted as I raised my arms into the air. Everyone cheered for me as I jumped off the crate. The Bleeding Heart docked and we all began our searches.

As I walked down the streets in my formal dress, I felt home. For some reason, it was like I had never left. Port Royal hadn't changed much in six years. I had lived on a ship for so long that I had forgotten what solid ground felt like. My legs felt shaky, but luckily I could keep my balance. "Now I know why Jack was always swaggering around...besides the fact that he was drunk," I mumbled to myself as I walked down the streets.

As I passed by an alley, I recognized it quite well. It was the place I had hidden before I had first spotted Jack. I could just see my innocent seventeen year old form running around in a black dress and cape on Halloween. I grinned at the memory. I had felt so stupid for that, but now I was laughing. "Oh well...that was the past. Now, to find Will's shop," I said quietly.

Sure enough, when I turned around, I bumped into a young man. "I apologize, Sir," I said politely as I curtsied. I really didn't want to cause trouble. "It's fine," he replied with a sweet smile. Just then, I realized who it was. This was William Turner! I had found him. Same brown hair, same eyes, same clothes...everything about him was exactly as I remembered. He gave me a raised eyebrow when he saw me studying his face. "I'm already married to Governor Swann's daughter," he said clearly.

"Oh...oh no...you caught the wrong idea there, Sir. I just..." Okay...I had to come up with something fast. "You...you look familiar, but I must be mistaken."

"I agree, 'cause I don't believe I know you. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go pick up some supplies at the docks," he said as he walked past me and back to where I had arrived. That bastard! He didn't even know who I was. Had I changed that much? "Whatever," I mumbled to myself as I looked at the building in front of me.

J. Brown's Shop

"This is the place," I muttered as I opened the door and crept inside. This place hadn't changed much either. The only difference was that Mr. Brown was not sitting drunk in his chair. I quietly walked to the back of the shop and removed my dress to reveal my real clothing. I wore a pair of tight black pants and a white baggy shirt that showed a little cleavage to distract any opponents I would have in battle. My black boots reached my knees and I had a brown belt around my waist that held my sword and pistol. I keep a dagger strapped to each thigh.

"That's much better," I said as I wrapped my fingers around the handle of my gun before letting my arms fall to my sides. I then realized that my hair was still up in a bun. God, I hated wearing my hair like that. I removed the tie and let it all hang loose in its dark waves. It still reached my waist, so I didn't think I looked too different. Although others felt different about that. I was so distracted that I didn't notice some one open the door to the shop.

"What are you doing in here?" a voice asked angrily. When I looked up, I saw Will standing there, holding a bag of supplies. I watched him glance back and forth from me to the dress that lay on the floor beside me. "You're a pirate!" he shouted as he dropped the bag and unsheathed his sword.

"And so are you," I retorted as I unsheathed mine. He slowly walked toward me with his sword pointed at my throat. "Get out before I call Commodore Norrington!"

"That guy is still Commodore? Gee...some things never change," I said with a sly smile as I raised my blade to meet his.

"How do you know I'm a pirate?" he asked.

"I have my ways of finding things out, William," I said sweetly as I ran my blade along his, creating a screeching sound of metal against metal.

"What else do you know?" he asked, giving me a glare that he had given Jack a long time ago. I almost laughed. "Only a little," I said with a whisper as I lunged at him. He blocked my blow and stared at me, his eyes wide. "You remind me of another pirate I knew once...Jack Sparrow. Do you know-?"

"Of course I know him," I said as I attacked again. Unfortunately, he blocked me. "That son-of-a-bitch just ruins everyone's life." Will swung his sword at me, but I did a back flip and landed on one of the wheels. I jolted slightly as I felt it start to move. The donkey had been startled and was moving them. "Stupid jackass," I muttered as I let the wheel take me in a circle. Will just stared at me, keeping his sword raised. This reminded me so much of the fight that Jack and Will had shared when they first met. I had always wanted to fight like this. Surprisingly, it was much more fun than I thought it would be.

"You fight well for a eunuch," I stated with a smirk. Will's dark eyes seemed to darken as he jumped up onto the wheel with me and knocked my sword out of my hands. I watched it fly to the other side of the room and land in the fire. I looked back at him and noticed a slight smirk on his face. "Mr. Turner, you are quite daft to think you could fight with Captain Morgan Kelly!" I yelled as I kicked his sword out of his hand and took out my daggers. I positioned them at his throat and kicked him in the stomach, knocking him off the wheel and against a wall.

"AH!" he screamed as his head hit the stone. Oh my God...I didn't want to actually hurt him. He was such a good man. I immediately sheathed my daggers and jumped off the wheel. I kneeled down in front of him and lifted his chin. He had a gash on his forehead. When my eyes met his, I saw fear and confusion. I had scared him. I stood up and extended my hand to him. He just eyed it questioningly. "Will, just take me hand. We need to get you cleaned up." He nodded slightly and took my hand. A smile crossed my face as I helped him over the moving wheel and out into the open area of the shop.

I sat him down on a stool and walked over to a bucket of water that he had by the fire. I ripped a piece of cloth from my sleeve and dipped it in before walking back over to him. As I brought the cloth to his forehead, he moved back. "Come on, whelp...I'm just gonna clean ya up," I said gently.

"No one calls me a whelp but Jack!" he shouted as he stood up. I glared daggers at him and pushed him back down onto the stool. "Don't piss me off, Turner. You don't wanna mess," I said calmly as I brought the cloth to his forehead again and began to clean up his cut. What I didn't notice was that his eyes were studying me as I concentrated on his wound.

When I finally finished, I looked at him and smiled. There was no more blood and it seemed to be fine. "Okay," I said nicely as I turned away.

"Wait," he stated. I reluctantly turned around to face him again. He had taken a few steps closer to me. "What is it, Mr. Turner?" I asked.

"You're very familiar to me," he said, "And so is your language."

"What do you mean?" I was completely confused. Did he know who I was now? How was that possible? "Do you think I wouldn't remember you...Natalie...?" My body felt limp almost immediately. He knew...he remembered me. "You actually remember me, Will?" I asked.

"Of course," he said with a smile, "You were the only one who ever really got underneath Jack's skin and stole his heart, Natalie."

"The name's Morgan Kelly...CAPTAIN Morgan Kelly," I almost shouted as I pointed my index finger in his face, "Natalie O'Connell is gone!"

"I apologize, Nat...Morgan. You know I didn't mean it," he said sweetly. I could only smile at him. Will had been such a great friend to me in the past...even though I hadn't seen him in six years. I looked toward the fire and saw my sword still lying in it. "Oh great," I groaned as I walked over and took a look at it. It was burning brightly in the vibrant flames. I then felt a hand on my shoulder and noticed Will standing next to me. "I can always make you a new one," he said gently.

"Thanks, mate," I replied as I took a step away from him and sat down in a chair, propping my feet up on the table, "So...how ya been?" He just laughed. "What?" I asked confusedly.

"You're so much like Jack. Same language...same attitude...same fighting style..."

"Who cares about that bastard? He ditched me!"

"What?" Will asked, his voice filling with obvious questions. I stood up and grabbed an apple out of the bowl on the table before sitting back in the same position. I began running my nails over the crimson red skin. "We were in Tortuga," I began, "About a few weeks after we left Port Royal." I took a bite of the apple as Will pulled up a stool and sat forward, folding his hands comfortably. "Jack and I really knew how much we were in love. At least...I thought it was love. Well...we kinda went up to a room...and we-"

"Okay...I get it!" Will shouted, "I don't need those kind of details." I took another bite of the apple and smirked at Will. "Sorry about that, Will," I said as I held back a laugh, "Anyway, I woke up the next morning...and he was gone. I searched the entire island, but he wasn't there. I got the hint once I noticed that the Black Pearl was no longer docked. I gave myself to him...and he vanished from my sight." I could feel tears welling in my eyes, but I pushed them back. I was a pirate now. I didn't have feelings for anyone. "I thought he was in love with me," I said quietly.

"I don't think Jack would seriously hurt you, Morgan. I know how much he loved you. It was clearly visible in his eyes. He even told you he cared in front of Commodore Norrington."

"He probably only did that so he could have sex with me. That asshole had to hurt me, rip my heart in two, and let it bleed."

"Is that why you named your ship The Bleeding Heart?" he asked. I nodded and then looked around the shop. "I'm leaving at sundown, Will...and I need your help..."
