The next morning Wendy woke up early enough to say goodbye to her parents as they left for the winter's farmers market. After they left she started getting ready for her day, she had a little bit before Kenny was going to come over.

She was straightening her hair in the bathroom her phone started ringing. It was Red, she answered it and put it on speaker as he continued with her hair. "Hey, Red. What's up?"

"Hey, have you heard from Bebe recently?" She asked her.

"No, why?" Wendy ran the straightener through her hair. She liked to get her hair done on Sunday, she found it was a lot easier than trying to get up early on Monday to do it. Now that her hair was short she couldn't get away with just putting it up in a messy bun.

"She's freaking out about you and Kenny." Red's voice came through the phone, "She's hella pissed."

Wendy couldn't help but laugh, "Why is she jealous or what?"

"Who knows," Red replied, "I'm just telling you because there are rumors among the girls that she's going to try to stir something up with you."

"God," Wendy groaned, setting down her flat iron. "What is her problem. First, she gets mad about what I'm wearing, then she tries to keep me away from Kenny, she insists she was still hooking up with him— Kenny says otherwise though. I can't figure her out. Kenny was nothing more than a booty call to her, if she wanted him so bad why didn't she go for him. I can't believe she wants to throw our whole friendship away over a boy, how immature."

"I couldn't agree more, Wendy." Red replied, Wendy could almost see her sitting in her room, nodding her head, "She hasn't even been hanging out with me lately."

"She's so absorbed in herself, what is her problem with Kenny anyways? He's so sweet and caring, not like how she describes him." Wendy shook her head and walked over to her small makeup table, bring her phone with her.

"Yeah, she's acting dumb. I don't understand it at all."

Wendy grabbed her foundation and started putting on her makeup. "What are people saying anyways?" She started brushing the powder on her face.

"Lots of things. I heard from Heidi Turner that last night there was a little party at Nichole's house, apparently, Bebe was there. She told me that Bebe was drunk and upset at you and Kenny."

"Damn," Wendy was uninterested in this. Any drunk threats from Bebe meant next to nothing. Still, she couldn't believe that Bebe was trying to throw away their friendship over something as petty as this.

"Yeah apparently, she started drunk texting Kenny. The girls were kind of egging her on." Red continued.

Wendy chuckled, the thought of Bebe making a fool of herself did make her laugh. She felt like she kind of deserved it.

"Well after that, I guess Kenny blocked her because Heidi told me that her texts stopped going through. After that, shit really started to go down." Red started to laugh, "Honestly it's too good. She started freaking out apparently, you know how Bebe gets when she's sloppy drunk."

Wendy burst out laughing, "Yeah she does it messy." She pulled out her eye shadow palettes. She debated going for a copper tone or something more colorful. She decided she didn't want to put in too much work, it was already taking her way too long to get ready. She picked up her palette and got to work on her eyes.

"Well, I guess after they kicked her out Heidi offered to drive her home because she was wasted. They were sitting in the car and I guess Bebe was going off about hating Kenny and also you. She's fucking pissed dude. Heidi told me she wants to fight you."

Wendy shook her head as she closed her eyeshadow palette, "I don't know what good fighting me would do. I'd kick her ass anyways."

"She's just talking shit, Wendy. You know she'd never fight you."

Wendy wasn't so sure. She hoped Bebe was just blowing smoke out of her ass. She did have to wonder why Bebe was so passionate about her and Kenny. This made her rethink the thoughts that maybe Bebe had her back this whole time but just came off a little overbearing. She wondered what else Bebe had been lying about.

"Bebe's gone off the rails." Wendy started to put some clear lipgloss on her lips to finish up her look. She hoped Kenny wouldn't mind. Stan always hated when she wore anything on her lips.

"Yeah, for real. I just wanted to give you a heads up for Monday. I'm not going to be at school tomorrow, so I can't give you a ride."

Wendy groaned, that meant she had to ride the bus. "Where are you gonna be tomorrow?"

"Dentist appointment in the morning, doctors appointment in the afternoon. I like to get that shit done in one day."

Wendy just sighed. She hoped tomorrow wouldn't be a shit show with Bebe at school. She still couldn't figure out what her problem was. Her phone vibrated, it was text from Kenny saying he was on his way. "Well thanks, Red." Wendy couldn't really say she put her mind at ease or anything though. "I've gotta go. Kenny is coming over."

"Ohh, have fun. Don't worry about Bebe. I'm sure she'll forget about all this shit soon. She just needs to get laid by someone new. But I did hear she sucked Kevin's dick recently."

Both of them giggled.

"I'll talk to you later, Red." Wendy said as she stood up from her desk. She hung up the phone and took a deep breath. She was worried about Bebe, she did have to admit. She felt sad she was doing this, did Bebe really hate her because of this? She just shook her head. For now she needed to focus on just her and Kenny.

Kenny pulled up to Wendy's house in his truck. It was another nice day where the sun was shining and no snow was falling from the ground.

Kenny walked up to her door feeling confident, for once he knew he didn't smell like cigarettes or weed. He figured it didn't really matter though because he wouldn't be seeing Wendy's parents, he hoped Wendy appreciated it though.

He knocked on the door and Wendy answered it almost instantaneously. "Hey," Kenny smiled warmly and Wendy pulled him in for a quick kiss. Her lips were soft and sticky, Kenny didn't mind getting gloss in his lips though, just as long as she kissed him.

He felt a warm fluttery feeling in his stomach as he walked inside. "Hey, I was thinking we could make pancakes." Wendy suggested, leading him to the kitchen, "I even have blueberries we can add."

Kenny couldn't help but smile down at her. She looked so excited and happy to see him. He felt like it had been a long time since anyone was genuinely happy to see him. "That sounds delicious, but I should warn you that I'm a terrible cook."

Wendy laughed, her voice was so so soft and light. "It's okay, I'll be there to help you anyways."

She started to pull down the ingredients from her cupboard. She stood on her tippy toes trying to each something that seemed just out of reach. Her shirt rode up slightly giving Kenny a peek at her fair skin. Any sight of skin was a rare treat in South Park.

He walked over, "Here, let me help you."

"Thanks, I just need that baking soda." She pointed in the direction as Kenny grabbed it down for her.

The pair stood at the counter and Kenny handed Wendy ingredients as she asked for them.

"I think they're ready to cook." Wendy grinned happily. Kenny smiled back and watched her light the griddle and put some butter on it.

"You know I feel bad, I barely helped," Kenny said, the butter sizzling on the skillet was almost peaceful.

"I thought you made a great sous chef." Wendy giggled and plopped down the first pancake, quickly followed by the second one. She stood over the stove and watched them.

Kenny came up behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist and resting his head gently on her shoulder. "How do you know what to flip them?" He asked her. He could smell her hair, it smelt like flowers, Wendy had always smelled good though. Strangely comforting.

"See those bubbles? When the pop you know it's time to flip it." She replied, Kenny could hear the smile in her voice.

"How do you know when it's done?" He questioned after, kissing her neck softly. It felt nice to be holding her in his arms again. The sun streamed in through the kitchen windows and everything felt still and perfect.

"You just have to go off of looks at that point." She replied, but Kenny wasn't really paying attention anymore. He'd started to leave a trail of kisses down her neck, listening closely to her breathing.

"Hey, remember that night in the hotel on New Year's?" Wendy asked Kenny, her hand reaching up to cup his face as he peppered more kisses on her neck.

"Mhmm," Kenny mumbled letting his eyes flutter shut. He remembered that night fondly, after not being able to get laid all night it was something he really needed. Her hands-on his face now felt better than that night though, he wasn't exactly sure why.

Wendy flipped the pancakes making them start to sizzle all over again. "I can't believe we're where we're at now," Wendy said softly.

Kenny briefly thought about it. It was a strange turn of events. "I don't think I'd have it any other way."

Wendy pulled the pancakes off the griddle and before she proudly put more Kenny turned her around and had started kissing her.

She kissed him back, resting her small hands on his face and pulling him closer. Kenny could feel her lip gloss getting smeared all over his lips. He didn't mind it though, all he could think about were how soft her lips were.

They continued to kiss, passionately and slowly. Kenny was taking his time feeling his way around her body. It was a position he'd been in many times, but this time it felt different, more comfortable. He relaxed into the kiss.

•••

Kenny and Wendy were laying on the tile floor of the kitchen, half-naked breathing heavy. The two pancakes from earlier were cold on the counter and butter had burned its way into the griddle.

Kenny looked over at Wendy and grinned, brushing her hair out of her face. She looked back over and giggled at him. "Look at us." She shook her head and sat up, pulling her shirt back over herself.

Kenny sat up and pulled his pants back up along with her. He had to admit that this wasn't even the weirdest place he'd had sex before, but the sliding glass door from the kitchen to the backyard made him wonder if someone had been looking in on them.

Wendy stood up and Kenny watched her. He was feeling that warm feeling in his heart again. He stood up too.

"Let me clean this griddle and we can make fresh pancakes." Wendy started to clean it off and Kenny just watched her. Smiling as she started to put more batter on the clean griddle.

"Thanks for making us breakfast," Kenny said softly, watching her flip the pancakes. "Sorry I didn't help you more."

Wendy just laughed, "I don't mind." She insisted, flipping the pancakes. Kenny imagined him and her in the future making pancakes together every morning and probably getting distracted and having sex in the middle of it every morning too. He just smiled in response to her.

Eventually, Wendy finished the pancakes, and this time she turned the burner off so they wouldn't have another burnt mess on their hands. She handed him a plate of pancakes and they sat down at the kitchen table.

Kenny watched as Wendy poured syrup all over her pancakes before handing them to him. He poured half the amount of syrup she did. He wasn't in the mood for anything too sweet right now. He cut into the pancakes and popped a piece into his mouth. "Holy shit, this is so good." He mumbled.

"It's just pancakes, you're too sweet." She replied, eating her own pancakes.

Kenny grinned, "I think they taste better made by you." He pointed out, taking another bite.

Wendy kept her eyes on him for a moment and then she laughed, "You barely put any syrup on yours." Wendy's laugh carried through the air and Kenny couldn't help but smile either. It was so infectious, she seemed so genuinely happy. It was making him happy too.

"Yeah, I told you that I don't like sweet things." He shrugged, he recalled many times in his childhood eating toaster waffles plain. He never thought there was anything weird about it. "Syrup is too sweet."

She giggled again, tilting her head back. Her hair fell softly away from her face. She looked beautiful. "I do think I remember you telling me about that when we went to Olive Garden on New Year's Eve."

Kenny nodded, staring at her briefly. She was smiling as she ate her pancakes. Kenny wondered if this is what heaven felt like- real heaven, not the Mormon hellscape heaven really was. He felt so at peace, so warm inside. He wanted her to keep laughing and making pancakes together.

He felt a knot in his stomach as he thought about it. Nervousness was starting to build in his stomach. He wanted to tell Wendy how he really felt, but he was worried. Just a month ago he was sure he didn't believe in love but now, he wasn't so sure.

When he watched Wendy laugh and smile at him he felt something like he'd never felt before. His heart started beating faster in his chest, he opened his mouth. "Wendy, I have to tell you something." He felt like the words coming out he didn't have control over anymore. He let his heart take the lead even though his brain was telling him to stop before his relationship turned out like his parents.

"Yeah, what's up?" She looked up at him with her big bright eyes. She had a piece of a pancake on her fork, caught in the air between her plate and her mouth.

Kenny inhaled and broke eye contact for a moment before looking back at her. He had no idea how nervous he would feel trying to admit his feelings for someone for the first time. He wondered if he was making a mistake but when he turned his gaze back to Wendy he knew he wasn't.

"Wendy, I love you."

Wendy looked at him and smiled, reaching out and grabbing his hands. Her hands were so warm and he knew his were ice cubes.

"Kenny, I love you too." She smiled softly, "I've been really happy since I've met you."

Kenny felt a relief lifted off his shoulders after hearing her reply. Wendy was about the fifth person to ever tell them that he loved him in his life. The others being Karen, and Kyle, Cartman, and Stan in passing when they were kids— but even that was rare then. He couldn't recall a time his parents uttered it to him or Karen or Kevin for that matter. He felt good knowing at least one other person had his back.

"I've been really happy too." He tightened his grip on her hands as if she'd escape if he loosened up. "I've never felt this close to anyone before." Kenny still felt nervous talking to her about these things. He felt like if he laid his heart out it would get shattered.

"Aww, Kenny."

A moment of silence passed between them. Kenny couldn't stop staring at Wendy. "Can I ask you something?" He asked softly.

"Anything." She replied.

"Why did you like me? You know, you're so smart and popular and I'm... well I'm basically an orphan with a nicotine addiction two seconds from flunking out." Kenny chuckled somewhat painfully, trying to make it lighter than it was. In the back of his mind, he shuttered at how true it was.

Wendy just laughed at him, "Kenny, you're a lot more than that. You're so hard on yourself."

"I guess. Maybe it's just hard to see the good aspects of myself because..." he trailed off, glancing at Wendy. "I guess that people haven't always been so nice to me." He shrugged it off. Deep down, if he was being honest with himself, he had somewhat of wrecked self-esteem. He'd never say it out loud but his parents' constant berating cut deep sometimes, and it didn't help that he'd spent the last couple of years of his life trying to find fulfillment through random hookups.

Wendy's eyes were glowing as she stared into his. "You deserve all the great things the world has to offer."

"Do you really think so?" He questioned, smiling crookedly at her. He didn't know if he quite agreed.

"Of course, you're always there for everyone else." She replied, softly. "It's one of the reasons I like you."

Kenny wondered if Wendy was seeing a good in him that wasn't there.

"You're so sweet and thoughtful. You're always doing things for other people. You're looking out for Karen all the time." Wendy continued, "You're a good person, and I like that about you. You're always there for your friends."

Kenny squeezed her hands softly, "That's really sweet of you to say, Wendy." In the dark corners of himself, Kenny was still doubtful. In the back of his mind, he wondered if eventually, Wendy's view of him would change. He supposed most people hadn't taken the time to get to know him as well as her, maybe there was something worth loving inside him.

"You know, you're the first person I've really opened up to about anything." Kenny mused absentmindedly, "I mean, I guess I've shared personal stuff with Craig, but this is kind of different."

Wendy stood up and started gathering the dishes, "Yeah well, I always knew you had a lot of pent-up emotions."

"Let me help you with that," Kenny stood up and took the dishes from her, "You shouldn't have to cook and then clean up after." He walked into the kitchen, slightly relieved he'd dodged a conversation about his pent-up feelings. He was worried that one day they would all spill out, but for now, being with Wendy was enough.

•••

The next morning Kenny rolled out of bed at the sound of his alarm. The good memories of the night before rolled through his head as he got ready for the day. He stood in the shower a bit too long, imagining that it was Wendy's hands rubbing soap all over him instead of his own. Only snapping out of it when he heard knocking on the door and Kevin telling him he was going to be late.

Kenny just sighed, he hated having to be a good student. He turned off the water and dried off, wrapping his towel around his waist as he returned to his room to get dressed.

Kenny grabbed a joint he'd rolled a few days ago and stuffed it into his pocket before heading out, Kevin told him to have a good day and Kenny just nodded in response, pulling up his hood and tying the strings.

He got in his truck and started it, the engine cranking to life but not without a funny noise emitting from under the hood. Kenny decided he'd deal with that later as he threw his truck in reverse and began the drive to school.

Once he was out of sight of his house he lit up his joint and took a long drag. Hoping to be sufficiently stoned by the time he got to school. He sang along to Judas Priest as he floated down the roads to school. It was times like this Kenny thought Colorado was truly beautiful. When the sun was peeking from behind the mountains and the snow sparkled a brilliant white Kenny almost didn't yearn for a beach a million miles away.

As he drifted further into his mind and closer to the school he heard his phone begin to ring. He glanced over it on the seat next to him, it was Craig calling. Kenny assumed he was going to ask him to ditch school and go to the planetarium, or something.

He picked up the phone and put it on speaker, before he could even open his mouth Craig started talking, "Dude, are you almost at school?" He sounded kind of nervous, which was strange for Craig.

"Yeah, why?" Kenny turned into the parking lot, "I just got here." He replied. He put out his joint and scanned the lot for Craig's car, "Where'd you park?"

"Dude you gotta ditch school today, Bebe is going to go crazy," Craig replied, his voice still surprisingly monotone.

"What? You know I can't ditch." Kenny pulled up next to Craig's car and looked over at him and Clyde sitting in the front seat.

Kenny hung up, turned off his car, grabbed his backpack, and slunk over into Craig's backseat. "What the fuck were you talking about?"

"Dude everyone that's seen Bebe today has said she looks pissed as hell. Token and Nichole saw her and Nichole asked her what was wrong and she was saying that she's pissed at you." Clyde explained, he was more enthusiastic than Craig.

"What's she even gonna do?" Kenny asked, glancing between them. "It's not like she's going to kill me," Kenny said, almost bitterly. He figured that was the worst she could do, but even then it was meaningless.

His friends just looked worriedly between each other, "Yeah well, that's what we were thinking too, but she's not just mad at you..." Craig continued after a strange moment of silence, "She's mad at Wendy too."

Kenny suddenly realized what they were grabbing at, "What, you think she'll hurt Wendy?" He asked them.

"Or her reputation." Clyde replied, "She wants you two to break up, dude. She's going to try to get one of you to leave the relationship. She's a manipulative bitch, our theory is she'll try to hurt Wendy and pin it all on you."

Kenny just shook his head, "Have you guys been smoking weed?"

"Well yeah, why?" Craig raised an eyebrow.

"You guys are crazy, that's why. Bebe's not that smart," Kenny laughed, "This is just some conspiracy bullshit."

"No, dude! We're being serious, Bebe is mad at you. She looks hella pissed, dude." Clyde started to get defensive and Kenny just continued to laugh.

"I don't doubt that part, I doubt all the other stuff you're saying. Bebe could never break me and Wendy up."

"Not to be a dick, but how do you know?" Craig was deadpan.

"I just know... me and Wendy, we're so good together." Kenny responded, "When we're together it's like life isn't a bleak meaningless void, what we have is so special."

"Whoa, we've got Kenny the romantic here." Clyde began teasing him, causing Kenny to blush and Craig to chuckle.

"I think that's the deepest thing I've ever heard you say," Craig added on.

Kenny just shook his head and then rested it in his hands. "Okay, but if we cut the bullshit, no way Bebe can make me and Wendy break up."

Clyde looked over at Craig, "Yeah, now that I hear it from another perspective I hope that's true. I'm a bit of a romantic myself."

Craig and Clyde quickly locked lips and Kenny adverted his gaze. Those two could never keep their hands off each other.

Kenny told them he'd see them later as he left their car, not getting a word back as the pair engaged in a make-out session.

Kenny began walking up towards the school, his boots crunching in the fresh snow from the night before. Once he made it up to the door he felt a hand on his shoulder, he turned around to see Wendy smiling up at him.

"Hey," he said, she wrapped her arms around him and pulled him into a warm embrace.

"Do you want to go get lunch today?" Wendy asked him as she let go of him. Kenny just smiled and nodded in response, he opened the door for her as they walked inside the school.

A blast of warm air hit Kenny in the face upon entering the school. He began to follow Wendy to her locker, he barely used his anyways.

He leaned against the lockers as Wendy dig through hers, "I have a test in chemistry today, I'm not looking forward to it. I'm so tired of hearing about Avogadro's number and all that bullshit."

Kenny chuckled, "Hey, I bet you'll do great-"

"KENNY FUCKING MCCORMICK!" A voice rang out across the halls interrupting him followed by a deafening silence.

He turned his head and his eyes met some that looked enraged, he quickly realized it was Bebe, and Clyde was right, she did look hella pissed. She was walking towards him.

"I'm gonna fucking kill you." She growled, Kenny gulped.
