Chapter 15

The words seemed to echo around the cave as Mewtwo's words seemed to confuse the female as she registered what he had said. "Called you?" She asked in a panting and strained voice. "I don't recall reaching out for any kind of help."

Mewtwo blinked as he assessed her words and knew she was telling the truth to him though before he could, the female fell backwards in a faint and he quickly rushed to her side noticing that she was not going to get better if he left her here. From experience, he knew that she probably would be against any type of human help and though he had the necessary knowledge to help recover Pokémon to full health, he did not have any of what was needed to do that here with him. To leave her and try and get the items to help her would be almost asking for a trainer to come and capture her without a single chance for her to defend herself from a Pokéball that even the most novice trainer held. He debated his options carefully as he sat by her side before he noticed that she was slightly waking up and he said to her, "I know you may be confused and frightened but you need to get some help."

"I don't want help." She whispered weakly, her voice betraying what her body was screaming at her to do. "To accept help means that I am weak."

Mewtwo leaned back as her words seemed to reflect how he felt constantly. "I admit that accepting help does make it seem that we have weakness'," he said slowly. "I am not one to accept help so easily either but there are times where though I fight and fight against it, others do it because they care."

"No one cares about me." The female whispered before her eyes landed on the Pokéball around Mewtwo's neck. "A pet like you wouldn't even comprehend what it could be like to feel this way." Her voice turning almost acidic like as she said her opinion.

"I am no ones pet." Mewtwo said pushing his anger from her statement aside to try and reason with her.

"That Pokéball around your neck tells a different story." She turned her head away from him.

Mewtwo almost forgot about the Pokéball that was to hold Mew. "It is not my Pokéball." He said making the female glance at him in disbelief. "I am holding it for a Pokémon. She is more like an obnoxious cousin but she trusts me with her Pokéball as I can protect it better than the trainer I travel with."

"You do not deny that you have a trainer though." She pointed out. "Therefore you are nothing more than a pet for their use."

Mewtwo growled in slight irritation at the female's words. "While I have accepted him as a trainer, he has proven that he would not use me for any type of gain that could be selfish." He said softly. "I unfortunately did not act the same when I escaped my capture." His words grabbed the female's attention immediately.

"Your capture?" She asked turning her head towards him once more.

"I am like you. Created, used, abandoned all for the pleasure of human greed but there were some that proved to me that all humans were not the same. That some just enjoyed the presence of Pokémon as companions and not as tools to use at their disposal."

"And how could they ever prove that to you?" She snorted. "They never proved that to me."

"I will tell you everything if you come with me. You may not have a lot of strength but you can still sense the truth that I say so just let me help you and I will prove that someone will care and never use you for any gain ever again."

The female was hesitant but after what seemed like hours to Mewtwo, she finally nodded her head in agreement. "I sense no lies from you but I will judge everything else once I get the help promised to me." She said in slight defeat.

Mewtwo nodded. "I will not be able to transport you like this." He said gently, carefully summoning his handcrafted Pokéball's he had used at his competition. "This is a specially crafted Pokéball that I made. It will not register you to anyone so you are still a free being but this is the only way I can safely transport you without further injury."

The females eyes showed fear and she whispered, "You will lock me away? Like those who made me?"

"No." Mewtwo gently reprimanded. "Not lock you away, just keep you safe from anything or anyone until I can get you healed. I give you my word that I wont allow you to be trapped away."

The female gazed at him further before she nodded, her eyes closing as Mewtwo carefully captured her in the Pokéball. As he rose, he heard footsteps entering the cave he was in. He froze knowing that he could just teleport away but as his eyes fell upon the boy that entered the area's light and read the thoughts of him along with others hearing and seeing a strong and mysterious Pokémon arriving at the cave, he knew that he would need to fight before trying to escape. "Mew," he telepathically said.

"Yes Mewtwo?" She answered a little bit sullenly.

"I am sending you one of my created Pokéballs. I will try an be along shortly but I need to battle a trainer who has come upon me first."

"Why would you need to battle him if you can just teleport back?" Mew's voice grew concerned.

"I need to make sure that he won't tell anybody about me. If I wipe his memories of seeing me it might cause an unbalance of why he came here in the first place."

"An unbalance?"

Mewtwo growled in irritation as the human boy gazed at him in determination. "Mew, the Pokémon I went to find has caused a stir among the people here and no matter how many minds I wipe, the word has already spread most likely. I will need to battle this one trainer and get him to say that the Pokémon defeated him and escaped in order to throw off anyone who tries to snoop around."

A sigh was heard through the connection. "Alright Mewtwo."

"And Mew," he said sending the Pokéball to Ash's home safely. "Wait until I arrive to open that Pokéball. She trusts me to hold onto a promise I made her."

"I will Mewtwo." The connection then went away and Mewtwo concentrated on the trainer that was observing him.

He did not like this situation he was placed in one bit.

Albus had awoken that morning, packed everything up after changing into actual muggle clothing instead of transfigured ones, and followed Fawkes out towards the edge of the island before he found his first slight conundrum. Fawkes was easily able to fly over the water to get to the land he needed to get to but Albus needed a boat as a ride and while he still had the card that Blaine had generously given him to use, actually knowing how to use it in this world for a boat ride was a whole other matter. He couldn't apparate to an area he had no sight or knowledge of nor could he just use magic to create a boat that could carry him across and as Fawkes was already disappearing from view in the northern direction meant that he would need to meet him at the land that resides that way.

He sighed and walked over to the docks and ticket booth for a ferry that was to stop there every so often throughout the day. He looked at the map that was on a wood billboard next to the teller and the direction that Fawkes went was towards a small town called Pallet on the map but Fawkes probably would wait for him near the shore. "Excuse me," Albus said to the young male that was in the teller booth, gaining his attention. "May I ask what is required for me to get to the land that holds Pallet Town?"

"Just the purchase of a ticket for the next ferry sir." The young man said.

"So you don't need ID or anything?" Albus inquired.

"Some places to require it but mainly to those with Pokémon or buying adult novelties." The man explained. "Traveling is one purchase where people can relax and unless you are going to another region, ID's are just for emergencies while on board."

"I see." Albus took out the card that Blaine gave him. "One ticket please then."

The teller took the card and, after a few quick beeps of the computer in front of him, he handed the card back with a ticket for the next ferry. "The ferry will stop at your destination after it arrives here in about 15 minutes or so."

Albus thanked the man before walking over to the benches that lines the port walkways and sat down to wait for the ferry to arrive at the port. He went into his pocket and took out the book that he was given by the girl back in town. As he was reading, every so often he looked up and noticed a lot of the Pokémon and people around him give off smiles and kindness that people in his own world wouldn't possess and this made him both sad and happy that this kind of peacefulness could exist but it couldn't be everywhere. Soon he saw the ferry arrive and stood up before walking over to the port that would pick him up and deliver him to his destination. As he boarded, he gave the ticket to the ferry captain who looked it over and gave it a hole punch before returning it to Albus smiling while wishing him a pleasant trip.

Albus sat down on one of the deck chairs as the boarding continued and hoped that when he arrived at the intended port, he would finally get to meet the one he wanted to meet most and hopefully explain everything to him in time.

….

Mewtwo glared at the human before him in the cave. "You have come to challenge me?" He said with a little arrogance seeping through into his tone.

"Challenge you and win!" The boy said confidently not at all faxed by Mewtwo's ability to speak. "Others have heard of the powerful Pokémon that just appeared here out of nowhere and I beat them all by finding you first!"

Mewtwo scoffed. "You're defeat will result in me leaving you and your Pokémon shamed to have taken on a challenger who will have beat you so easily."

"I doubt that!" The boy grabbed a Pokéball and threw with releasing a powerful looking Charizard who roared instantly as he saw his opponent. "Charizard and I have been training together ever since he was a Charmander! He's the strongest Pokémon that I have and he is my best friend!"

"And you use him first out of all your other Pokémon?" Mewtwo smirked. "Pitiful to try and do that so early in our battle."

"Don't worry," the boy smirked back. "He's just out to observe how you battle my other two strongest Pokémon!" He released a pointed blob looking Pokémon that had large red eyes, a constant smile on its face, two nubby hands and feet which went by the name of Gengar suddenly and shouted, "Gengar use-"

Mewtwo let out a roar before the command was finished and the power of it blew Gengar back harshly against a rock pillar making it faint on impact. "Choose your next opponent." Mewtwo said as the boy returned his downed Pokémon.

"Go Articuno!" The boy shouted making a beautiful blue bird Pokémon appear that shined like it was made of pure ice with two long feather tails trailing behind it as it flew above him. "Use blizzard!"

Articuno did as was commanded and a huge array of icicles and snow impacted the area where Mewtwo was but he was unfazed as his psychic shield deflected the attack. Mewtwo released a shadow ball, hitting the legendary Pokémon causing it to faint instantly as well. "You need to do better than that to defeat me, human." He said bored.

"Charizard, you're all I got left!" The boy shouted causing the Charizard to fly into action. "Use fire blast!" The Charizard released a fireball at Mewtwo and while he blocked the attack, it rattled his shield making Mewtwo slightly unnerved at how strong this Charizard was. Immediately he fired back with the move Swift which released a bunch of stars at Charizard, impacting him and causing him to fall. Mewtwo's eyes widened as he saw the trainer run and get under Charizard as he landed on top of the boy. After a second, the boy got up and spoke to Charizard before the Pokémon nodded and turned to face him once more. "Use slap!" The boy yelled making Charizard charge at Mewtwo at a rapid pace that even when Mewtwo brought up the shield, the pure strength thrown managed to shatter it though Mewtwo used this to his advantage and took the remnants of his shield, wrapping it around Charizard, and throwing with into a pool of water using his psychic unfortunately hitting the human trainer as he stood up in the pathway of the throw unintentionally.

"They'll never learn will they?" Mewtwo mused as he turned and thought on humans and their stubbornness. Suddenly the water erupted and when Mewtwo turned, a black Charizard was flying there with blue highlights, blue flames coming out of its mouth, a blue flame on its tail, its wings were in three segments instead of the single one meaning it had a more maneuverable way of flying, and its eyes were now a blood red with a yellow pupil. "What's that power?" He asked out loud as he readied for more of a battle.

The boy appeared on the Charizard's back and they flew over to the dry land before the boy told his partner to use another fire blast. The Charizard did as his partner said making a huge blue flame head towards Mewtwo making him try to put up a shield quickly as the flame impacted and shattered his shield for the second time making him cringe with the effects the flame had upon his body. The boy threw an ultra ball at him but Mewtwo batted it away with his tail knowing it couldn't capture him even if it did hit. Mewtwo quickly grew irritated with this boy and his Charizard and he used a powerful swift to hit the Charizard with only for the same attack to be thrown back at him making Mewtwo retreat and try to escape the following stars just to feel the impact of the swift as he went around a rock pillar. He landed on the ground when the boy ordered his Charizard to use slash and quickly started to block and evade the Charizard's attacks on his body the best he could.

Mewtwo felt his energy waning as the attacks continued to come his way yet the Charizard did not seem tired in the least. Suddenly he heard the boy yell out for a mega punch and all he felt was an impact in his abdomen before he was thrown against the cave wall with such force that he swore he could hear his ribs crack. He fell to his knees and panted as exhaustion started to take its toll on his body when he suddenly felt an impact of a pokéball on his head making him wince. He watched as it just rolled away on the ground of the cave floor back towards the human and his Charizard. "What the?" The boy said frowning making Mewtwo smirk.

"Humans will never change it seems." Mewtwo said standing up shakily and glaring at the boy in front of him. "Always rushing towards things instead of sitting down and taking the time to observe what's around you." He chuckled weakly.

"What do you mean?" The boy demanded as his Charizard returned to its normal state of evolution. "Why didn't the Pokéball work on you?"

Mewtwo raised his paw and pulled the Pokéball hanging around his neck into view. He knew it was Mews Pokéball but the human didn't and would just assume that his owner just left him to do what he wanted for a bit. "You never even noticed that I wore a Pokéball." He said making the boy deflate.

"Another trainer already captured you?" The boy whispered though Mewtwo still heard it. "Then why did you accept the battle?!" He yelled angrily.

"I battled because I want peace." Mewtwo said. "I want you to have seen me battle with the fierceness that others have warned you about. And I want you to tell everyone that I have already been captured and that I will never return to this cave ever again."

"You used me?" The boy growled as anger flared into his eyes with Charizard growling as well.

"Only because I needed to." Mewtwo said in a no nonsense tone that screamed to the boy that he meant business as he carefully sat down onto a rock to rest his body. "I am tired of all the humans chasing me and hoping that they would be able to catch me. I only accepted my trainers Pokéball because he promised me freedom. I hold on to my Pokéball and I can explore and learn everything from this world without worry."

"And if people don't believe me?" The boy growled. "It's not like they would automatically believe a kid!"

Mewtwo smirked. "No but when they come here and see that there is no mysterious Pokémon to be found due to being previously captured, it will lessen the curious humans about me and onto only those who have entered the cave. The greediness of humans will only allow them to look at the obvious and I want to be less obvious than their puny minds will allow." The boy frowned as his Charizard roared making Mewtwo scowl in its direction. "You will not speak of what you will not understand." Mewtwo said in slight anger. "Your Charizard reminds me of my trainers. Untrained in speech, letting its emotions control it though you have better control over its actions."

""Don't speak to him like that!" The boy yelled. "He was my starter and my first friend! His personality is his own and no matter what others think of him, I will not change him!"

Mewtwo observed the boy and huffed. "I constantly am flummoxed by you humans." He said making the boy confused. "One minute, you are greedy and wanting a wild Pokémon who does not always want to be caught just to be locked away and used only for battles and the next you defend your Pokémon so intensely believing they are your friends even when they are torn away from everything they knew before." He shook his head in bewilderment.

"You really think that Pokémon don't want to be friends with humans?"

Mewtwo sighed as he felt some of his energy come back to him. "I said some do not want to, human. Not all Pokémon." He glared at the Charizard. "As for your statement earlier, I may be a manipulator in some ways but what I do is not for stupid reasons nor will I tell you what the reasons are for they are none of your business. I do what I need to so that I can live peacefully without the constant harassment from humans and that is all you need to know."

The Charizard growled lowly before starting to load up a roar but the boy interrupted before his Charizard could get a sound out. "Fine. We will do what you ask but only this once." He glared at Mewtwo. "Because the next time we meet, I want a fair and honest battle because I feel that you are the challenge I need to overcome later in my journey and I promise, I will beat you again."

Mewtwo nodded. "Very well human," he said smirking as he gathered his power to teleport back to Ash's home. "I very much doubt you will find me but I will uphold that promise of yours if you do." He then teleported in a bright flash leaving only the boy and his Charizard in the slightly lit cave.

"Why do I get the feeling that this Pokémon will be harder to beat later than I think?" The boy asked his Charizard as they walked out of the cave into the brightness of the outside. His Charizard looked at his trainer and humphed his opinion at him. "Well, next time we will be stronger too right Charizard?" That earned a smirk from his Pokémon before he roared into the sky at the claim. The boy returned his Charizard before telling everyone who was in search of the mysterious Pokémon that it had already been captured and disappeared from the cave entirely and that he only saw the bright flash of a Pokéball being used before running footsteps pushed him to the ground and by the time he rose up, there was no Pokémon to be seen.
