Title: The weird thing is ...
Fandom: Alias
Character(s): Will/Sydney
Prompt: castle with a mote
For Sars
AN: So I'm not really into Syd/Will but I thought this was kind of cute and because I'm not into them romantically my brain automatically added a little bit of a vaughn undertone. Heh, I totally didn't mean to, but hey i think it's still pretty good. Obviously this is at the start of season 2, semi-au I guess.

She grinned at him and raised her brow just waiting. He took his shot and missed. She tried to hold back her laugh, really, but she couldn't. Will looked up at her with a mock glare and hit the golf ball quickly to make the extra two inches into the hole.

"Let's see you what you've got Bristow."

Sydney laughed again and stuck her tongue out at him playfully. She set her ball down on the worn grass and scanned the turf and the angles – took her shot and shook her head at the loud groan from Will's lips.

"How do you do that?"

She shrugged as she approached him, she was sorry Francie hadn't been able to come but at least she could spend some quality time with Will. Ever since he'd lost everything she felt horrible and then worse because she was glad he knew, even with what it cost him.

"Come on, the castle is next."

She took his out stretched arm and suddenly realized this was more like a date than she'd realized. And the weird part? It wasn't weird.

"With the moat? I hate that one, my ball always goes in the water."

Sydney shook her head and smiled, "It's not so bad. One of these days you're sure to master this course."

He gave her a look and rolled his eyes, "Is there anything you aren't good at Syd?"

She shrugged, caught sight of a familiar suede jacket and then turned back to Will.

"Hockey."

He gave her another look, the kind she used to get before he knew what she really did on her trips and then she shrugged and smiled at him.

"We should do this more often," she said with a smile.

He nodded and looked at her carefully, that familiar pang in his eyes, Syd took his hand, "Maybe have dinner afterwards too."

Her eyes drifted to the street and then back to Will. It wasn't weird at all.
