DILAN'S P.O.V.

It was a few days later, and Levi had stuck to his word. He was decent towards her, but she was just another part of the squad to him. They weren't friends and Dilan couldn't do anything to change his mind. It felt different this time. Levi had blanked her before, but this was intentional, more personal. Levi was in control and he didn't want to be her friend anymore and it was that fact that was eating her from inside.

Dilan didn't mean to hurt him. She didn't even think she would hurt him, but it was obvious from his reaction that what she did cut him deep. If she could go back in time and do things differently, she would but life didn't work that way. If Dilan was honest it felt like they had been working up to this point for a long time. She couldn't hold onto both of them as tightly as she was, she was going to have to choose where her loyalties lied. Levi just made the choice for her. He chose to take that choice away completely and Dilan might have even resented him for it if she didn't miss him so fucking much.

Dilan sighed, sitting up in bed and raking a hand through her hair. She looked beside her at Eld sleeping peacefully and didn't know what to feel anymore. Eld had suggested they stay in the same room, so they didn't have to clean one each. Dilan was reluctant to accept, feeling like she needed her own space from time to time but Eld didn't really give her the time to answer on that one. She supposed it wasn't that different from home.

She just felt really heavy recently, her mind was often elsewhere, and she didn't care either. Whatever was going on with her it was heavy enough for her to feel like shit, not heavy enough for her to be incapacitated meaning slacking off was off the table. She hadn't talked to anyone about it. Who would she talk to after all? Her best friend hated her.

Dilan sighed and stood up, steadying herself on the wall. Great. She felt extra lifeless today. Dilan took a breath and forced herself to move, grabbing a towel and a change of clothes.

Things in terms of the mission had been going well so far. The first night in they sat down and talked it through. Apparently, there was to be an expedition in thirty days' time where rookies were to be their main source of back up. At this point, Dilan wasn't even surprised anymore. It wasn't right but it was Erwin and the man didn't change his mind. There must be a reason he was doing this. That didn't mean the reason was a humane one.

Eren talked to them about his power. He seemed as unsure as them but mentioned the trigger seemed to be hurting himself in some way. Dilan was intrigued and she hoped they would be able to learn more about this ability. How did he get the power? Was he born with it? Was it genetic? Was it transferable?

These were all questions they needed to figure out.

The kid slept in the dungeon during the night which Dilan felt bad about, but she could understand why it was necessary. He had been training with Eld and Gunther. Eren had asked her for some training and he also hoped he could talk to her. Dilan felt bad turning him down, saying she was busy which was a lie, but she really didn't have the energy. She hoped the kid didn't take the rejection too hard. She would have to make it up to him when she got out of whatever the hell this was.

Hanji was supposed to be coming around this evening so she could start her experiments the next day. Dilan was looking forward to seeing her. No one could be depressed around that crazy woman.

Dilan turned a corner and bumped straight into someone. They both stumbled a bit but didn't fall and Dilan looked up to see it was Levi. Her heart clenched painfully, and she swallowed, walking around him and trying to shove down the sudden wave of emotion that came over her.

"Hey, Dilan." Levi called before she got to far. Dilan stopped moving but didn't turn around. She took a shaky breath.

"Yes, sir?" Levi hesitated.

"You alright?" He asked. Dilan closed her eyes and two fat tears rolled down her face.

No. I need help.

"I thought we weren't friends." She managed to keep her voice level. He was just making things harder.

"Well I'm still your Captain, I can still ask how you are." He countered, not an inch of emotion in his voice. Dilan guessed he meant a lot more to her than she did to him because he seemed to be fine. While Dilan on the other hand was fucking falling apart.

"I see. I'm fine, Captain. Don't worry yourself, I'm sure you have work to do." She replied before walking off.

She got into the shower and locked it behind her, stripping herself and turning on the hot streams, she sunk down onto the floor and putting a hand over her mouth while tears dripped down her face.

It was her fault. She knew that. But... she loved him. She loved him and she needed him in her life. Friends was enough for her. It was hard but it was enough. Now... that was taken away too and she wasn't sure what to do about it.

LEVI'S P.O.V.

Levi clenched his jaw as Dilan walked away, trying to ignore the harsh sting from her cold words. He had done that after all. He had pushed her away from him to protect himself, but he had regretted it the minute it was done. Turns out being near her was torture... but separating himself from her completely... it was agonising.

He still didn't think his decision was a wrong one, even if it hurt him more than words could describe. He needed to let Dilan go so she could focus on what was important. That didn't mean he wasn't struggling.

He hadn't slept in two days.

Levi hesitated before continuing on his way. He knew his decision had hurt her so he wasn't surprised she talked to him like that but... there was something else. Something was wrong with her and it had been for a while. She looked like she was going through something and Levi wanted to help her through it, but he was too far away now.

Perhaps she was fine. Of course, the separation was going to hurt her, she just needs some time to get over it. Levi could only hope. She had Eld anyway. If something was bothering her, she should just talk to him.

Even the thought made him grit his teeth in self-loathing, but he pushed onwards, heading down the stairs.

Levi reached the basement and took out his keys.

"Rise and shine, titan shit." Levi said in a bored tone, unlocking the door. Eren yawned, sitting up in his bed and looking at Levi through squinted eyes.

"Captain?" He asked. Levi sighed. The kid was always asking stupid obvious questions like that.

"Yep. Get your ass up, now." Levi warned and Eren jumped, standing up and following him out.

"H-hey Captain?" Eren asked nervously. Levi glanced at him before looking straight again.

"Hm?" He hummed dismissively.

"Well um... I was just wondering... if the Major is okay?" Eren asked, flinching as Levi abruptly stopped moving and turned to face him.

"What about the Major?" Levi demanded. Eren gulped.

"Well, uh, she just seemed down to me and I thought since you are friends that-"

"We're not friends." Levi interrupted. Eren looked confused at that. Clearly, he couldn't even fool Eren with that statement, let alone himself.

"But you-"

"We're not friends." Levi repeated in a low tone and Eren jumped.

"Yes sir!" Eren replied quickly. Levi glared at him for a moment, making him sweat before turning around and starting to walk.

Eren hesitantly followed behind.

There was a moment of silence before Levi couldn't bite back the question.

"Why do you think she's down?" Levi asked. Eren blinked at him.

"O-oh, I'm sure I was wrong, sir-" He started to ramble, and Levi rolled his eyes.

"Answer the question, Yeager." He ordered. Eren swallowed before thinking about it and adopting a more serious expression.

"Well she seems fine around the squad but... sometimes I catch her when she thinks nobody's looking and she just looks so... sad. That and, well, Miss Ral said Dilan would be thrilled to teach me some combat and then when I asked her, she turned me down." Eren replied in a thoughtful voice. Levi frowned slightly. It wasn't like the brat to turn down someone asking for help.

But what the hell was he supposed to do about it?

"She probably just dislikes you." Levi replied, wanting to end the conversation now. He was starting to feel sick.

Eren chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Probably." He sighed.

HANJI'S P.O.V.

Hanji sighed in content as their horses pulled up outside the old castle. It was a little into the evening now and her squad were rightly tired from the long journey. It looked a lot cleaner than she thought it would, but she supposed shorty had been staying here a few days. The kids had probably been cleaning non-stop.

Hanji snickered at the thought and dismounted from her horse, turning to her squad.

"Go stable your horses and grab a drink. Then pick a room and unpack, I expect to be here a few days." Hanji smiled. They nodded in agreement and took off towards the stable.

"Excited to see Dilan, section commander?" Moblit asked with a kind smile.

Hanji grinned.

"Of course! I haven't seen sweet little Dil in so long! I've got withdrawal." She pouted. Moblit chuckled, taking her horses reins.

"Go ahead, I'll sort out your horse for you." He offered, like the sweetie he was. Hanji gave him a wide smile and pinched his cheeks.

"Such a cutie!" She squeaked and Moblit blushed, but Hanji didn't give him the chance to reply as she jumped up and sprinted towards the entrance cackling as she did so. She moved through the hallways in search of anyone. It was a rather spooky place but she didn't care for ghosts. "DILAN!" Hanji yelled, reaching a door that looked familiar she ran full speed at it, ready to break through, yelping as she flew face first into the door. It seemed to be locked from the other side.

Hanji whined.

"Dilan let me in! I miss you!" Hanji wailed, banging on the door. She heard some mumbling and a 'for god's sake' from Levi before the door was unbolted and Hanji gasped, flinging the door open and inadvertently hitting both Eld and Oluo in the face. She didn't have the time to care. "Good evening squad Levi!" She greeted with a grin.

"You're too early." Levi grumbled. Hanji ignored him.

Crazy brown eyes scanned the people in the room before finding her target.

"Dil!" She screamed, jumping on the girl and they both fell of her chair, rolling around the floor. Dilan laughed as Hanji hugged her tightly, kissing all over her face.

"Oi! Just how unprofessional can you get?" Oluo frowned. Hanji grinned.

"Probably a lot more." She admitted and Dilan laughed as Hanji hugged her again. "I missed you." She pouted. Dilan smiled.

"Missed you too, Hanji." She replied and Hanji gasped.

This girl was too cute.

"Dil, stay with me forever!" She wailed, hugging her again. Dilan laughed and hugged her back a lot tighter than usual. Hanji frowned at the observation, pulling back to observe her friend. Her frown only deepened seeing the distant sadness in her eyes.

Hanji stood up and glared at the group of people.

"Who made my baby upset?" She demanded, crossing her arms. Confusion crossed peoples faces one by one until she got to Levi, who was avoiding her eyes and frowned. It seems she found her culprit. "Levi what the hell did you-!"

"Hanji I'm fine." Dilan pulled her back, giving her a desperate look to drop it.

"Dil-"

"I'm fine. I'm not upset." She smiled. It was pretty convincing too, but Hanji knew this girl too well. She knew when she was faking, and she knew when she was hurting. Something had happened. Still, perhaps it wasn't best to discuss it in a room full of people.

Hanji smiled.

"My mistake. You must have just been sad I was gone so long!" Hanji recovered, hugging her again. The room chuckled as Hanji pulled back and gave Dilan a 'talk later' look. She nodded subtly and sat back down.

Hanji sighed and took a seat of her own, observing how Levi and Dilan were refusing to make eye contact. Great. A few days without her and the world was falling apart.

"So! Onto business!"

A long while later and Hanji was embarrassed to say she had gotten a little distracted. In her defence Eren had asked to hear about her experiments and she was just too damn excited to have found someone who possessed a curious mind like herself.

Dilan was normal her best bet when she wanted to rant but the poor girl looked tired, so Hanji decided to leave her be and talk to Eren. But then before she knew it, morning was breaking. She cursed herself, remembering she was supposed to talk to those stubborn children and see what happened.

"Sorry Eren, must dash! I assume you learnt all of this during your time at the training corps anyway." She chuckled, standing up. Eren looked up at her with tired eyes.

"Yep. All of it." Eren grumbled. Hanji cackled and pat him on the head before heading outside and moving up the stairs. She supposed it didn't matter which of them she found as long as she did it quickly before everyone started getting up.

Hanji frowned at the size of this place. How was she supposed to find anyone here?

Then it came to her.

"DILAN! LEVI! DILAN! LEVI! DIL-" Hanji yelled at the top of her lungs, figuring it will either gain her a tired Dilan asking her what the hell she thought she was doing, or a grumpy Levi, telling her to shut the fuck up.

As it turned out her plan worked too well.

"Hanji what the hell?!"

"Shitty glasses you better shut the fuck up right now!"

Hanji looked left and spotted Dilan in her pyjama's, rubbing her eyes. Then she looked right to see Levi dressed in uniform with a clear scowl on his face. Neither of them looked impressed.

She hummed in thought, wondering who she should choose first.

Dilan would open up more, so she was the more logical option if Hanji wanted to figure out what was going on.

"Thanks Levi, but you can go." Hanji waved him off, walking towards the blinking girl.

"Are you fucking kidding me!" Levi hissed, walking back into his room and slamming the door. Hanji rolled her eyes and smiled as she reached her friend. Dilan offered a weak smile back, but it didn't reach her eyes. Hanji sighed, giving her a kind but stern look.

Dilan dropped the smile and took a shaky breath as tears formed in her eyes.

"Okay baby, come on, let's talk." Hanji reassured, rubbing her shoulder as they walked. Hanji found her assigned room that Moblit had popped in to tell her about during her rant to Eren last night.

She took them both inside and she closed the door behind them. Dilan sat down on the edge of the bed, tears dripping down her face as she stared at her feet. Hanji sighed and sat down next to her, taking her hand.

"Talk to me, Dil." She encouraged gently. Dilan took another shaky breath and wiped her eyes.

"Something happened... it was stupid, but I fucked up. I-I honestly didn't think it would hurt him, but I was clearly wrong. He told me he didn't want to be friends anymore and he won't change his mind. I just don't understand! I mean, sure, I was a bitch, but we've been friends for 8 years. We've worked through worse shit, why was this the line?! It makes no fucking sense." Dilan ranted, anger seeping into her tone as she wiped her eyes again.

Hanji pursed her lips.

"What did you do?" Hanji asked. Dilan sighed.

"I kissed Eld in front of him." She admitted and Hanji sighed. No wonder Levi was reacting bad. Seeing that must have crushed him but it wasn't enough for him to cut her off completely. There must be more.

"Why?" She asked. Dilan rubbed her face.

"We... kind of had a moment... and it freaked me out. So, I kissed Eld to set some boundaries." Dilan confessed and Hanji understood now.

"You hurt him." She pointed out. Dilan sighed in frustration, standing up.

"I don't know what I did. Because I have no fucking clue what he feels!" Dilan yelled. Hanji looked at her.

"And what do you feel?" She asked. Dilan opened her mouth before hesitating.

"... it doesn't matter. Levi's right. He needs to focus on work, and I need to focus on my relationship." She said firmly and Hanji frowned, standing up too.

"That's utter bullshit, Dil. You love him, I know you do." Hanji accused and Dilan's eyes widened. She had tried to be considerate with Dilan after everything she went through, hoping that Levi would wait until he deemed her ready to be able to start dating before telling her how he felt. Hanji had just underestimated how stubborn he was and how ignorant she is.

Someone needed to point out the fucking obvious to this girl!

"Hanji-"

"Just think about it, Dilan! Think about everything you two have been through together then look me in the eye and tell me you belong with Eld!" Hanji demanded, needing her words to get through.

Dilan looked at her in shock, taking a step back.

"Just stop! Stop messing with my head, I can't handle it right now!" Dilan snapped, storming out the room and down the hallway. "Fucking move!" She hissed in the distance and Hanji raised an eyebrow, poking her head out in time to see Oluo pushed up against the stone wall with a terrified expression as Dilan stomped away.

Hanji sighed.

"So fucking stubborn." She huffed. Maybe she would get somewhere else with the other one.

Hanji walked to Levi's room and knocked.

"Go away four eyes." Levi replied without even checking it was her.

"How did you know it was me?" Hanji asked, curious, as she opened the door anyway and stepped inside.

Levi glared at her from his desk chair.

"Because I heard Dilan yelling at some poor shit in the hallway meaning you were done torturing her and now you have come to bother me." Levi said, monotone.

Hanji sighed and sat down opposite his desk.

"Look, I know what she did must have felt pretty fucking horrible-" Hanji started, seeing him tense. "-but she didn't know it was going to have that effect on you. She wasn't trying to punish you, she was trying to set some boundaries for you and herself." Hanji said logically.

Levi sighed.

"I know that glasses." He replied quietly. Hanji gave him a look.

"If you're not mad then why-"

"I can't be around her anymore, Hanji. I've reached my limit." Levi interrupted, raking a hand through his hair and leaning back in his chair.

Hanji pursed her lips.

"Then do something about it." She ordered in frustration.

"She's happy with Eld-"

"No, she's not!" Hanji exclaimed and Levi looked at her in shock. "Are you fucking blind, Levi? She's not happy and she won't be until you man up and tell her how you feel." Hanji gritted, completely done with these stubborn children.

8 years! 8 fucking years she had been waiting for this relationship! She was not a patient person and she wanted to see it before she was eaten by the fucking titans!

"I can't do that." He replied and Hanji was close to ripping out her hair.

"UGH! Fuck you, Levi! You-you short stubborn coward!" She screamed at him, letting her emotions get a hold of her for a second. They both looked surprised at her outburst and there was a moment of silence before she huffed and stormed out of the room.

Oluo seemed to be returning to his room from the toilet.

"Morning Section Commander-"

"Out of my way!" She hissed, shoving Oluo aside.

Hanji didn't know if she had been more frustrated in her life.

DILAN'S P.O.V.

"Ugh!" Dilan got back into her room and slammed the door with a lot more force than necessary, consequently jolting Eld awake.

"Walls, Dil. What the hell?" He breathed, calming down. Dilan took a breath to relax. She had forgotten Eld was in here.

"Sorry. Stuff on my mind." Dilan mumbled, starting to pace the room. This would have been a good time for her to have her own space.

Eld sighed and stood up, putting hand on her shoulders to stop her pacing.

"Something I can help with?" He asked, his hands moving to her waist to pull her closer.

"Not really." She admitted. Eld smirked.

"Then maybe I can distract you." He offered, kissing her neck. Dilan sighed. She knew he was just trying to help but she wasn't really in the mood.

"Eld, we have to get up soon." She protested, trying to pull back.

Eld ignored her, kissing her neck and stroking his hands down her back, and teasing his hands under her shirt. Dilan jumped a bit at the intrusion, unsure what to feel. Especially as Eld's hands got higher and higher and-

Nope. That's it.

"Eld stop." She pulled away, crossing her arms over herself. He had never gone there before, and she wasn't prepared for it. She certainly didn't like how he didn't even ask or warn her at least.

Eld sighed and rolled his eyes slightly before heading over to the wardrobe and pulling out his clothes.

"Whatever." He mumbled. Dilan was a little hurt at how dismissive he was being. She comes in here, obviously upset and her boyfriend response by trying to feel her up and rolling her eyes when she tells him to stop.

There was a time when Eld would have sat her down and tried to talk through it with her. Back when they were just friends, he bragged about being a great listener. Was that a lie or was Eld a different person now? He never seemed to listen to her anymore. Whenever they were alone all he wanted to do was touch her. It made her feel like an object.

"Maybe we should take you to someone?" Eld suggested while he started getting changed, snapping Dilan out of her thoughts. She blinked in confusion.

"What do you mean?" She asked. Eld glanced at her.

"You clearly have some sort of irrational fear of intimacy. I'll take you to a psychiatrist the next time we're in Sina. Then you can sort this out." Eld explained and Dilan looked at him in shock.

Was she that fucking useless to him if he couldn't have her body? Was she that fucking broken? Even if she did need help. Even if talking to some dusty old privileged asshole about shit he would never understand would actually help her, Eld wasn't even offering her any support with it.

"Then you can sort this out."

Basically, he was saying sort it out and come back when I can fuck you.

"I can't believe you just said that." She stared at him in disbelief.

Eld gave her a look.

"Come on, Dil. You can't expect me to put up with that forever." He pointed out like she was some kind of burden. Dilan scoffed, grabbing her clothes from the wardrobe and walking towards the door.

"My apologies for being so fucking difficult. I'll totally work on that for you, after all what the hell am I here for if not for sex." She snapped, ripping open the door and slamming it behind her before he could reply.

She was fucking done with everyone.

A shower, change of clothes and a skilful avoidance of all people and Dilan was feeling much better. Well... okay-ish. Fine, she felt like shit, but she was choosing to ignore that for now.

Dilan sighed, looking over the fields from her little perch up on top of the shed. No one had found her yet and she hoped she would get a bit longer by herself.

No such luck.

"M-major?" A timid voice called, and Dilan cast her fiery orange eyes downwards seeing Eren at the bottom of the shed. She sighed in relief.

The kid was probably her favourite person here right now.

"Hey, titan boy. How are you?" She asked, swinging her legs. Eren smiled.

"I'm good, thanks. People are looking for you." He informed.

Dilan shrugged.

"They can look a bit longer." She said and Eren chuckled. She looked down at him, feeling guilty for being so distant with him lately. He was part of the team after all. "Want to sit with me, kid?" Dilan asked with a smile and Eren's eyes lit up.

"Yeah!" He replied a bit too quickly and Dilan chuckled as Eren cringed with embarrassment. "I meant yes please." He recovered and Dilan smiled.

"Sure. Come on then." She encouraged. Eren scrunched up his nose, probably looking for stairs or a ladder or something normal.

"How did you get up there?" He asked.

"I climbed up the wall." She informed. Eren blinked, looking at the wall with barely any cracks to hold onto.

"How the hell..." He mumbled. Dilan laughed. Being with this kid was actually making her feel better. He knew nothing of her issues nor had anything to do with them. He was fresh conversation and she couldn't be happier.

"No worries, kid. We'll sit on the floor." She compromised, jumping off the shed with ease and crouching to minimise the impact.

Eren balked at her.

"Wow... you may have a death wish." Eren pointed out boldly. Dilan smiled. It had been a while since she heard that one.

"Not a bad thing, in my experience." She chuckled, sitting down against the shed. Eren laughed and sat down with her.

"My classmates would say otherwise, they all call me a suicidal manic." He pouted. Dilan's eyes widened and she burst out laughing. "Hey!" Eren protested.

"No, no, I'm not making fun. People used to call me that." She chuckled, composing herself. Eren looked at her in shock, a slow grin making its way onto his face.

"Really!?" He asked in excitement. Dilan sniggered, leaning her head back.

"Yep. Still do sometimes." She admitted. Eren looked ecstatic.

"Ha! I can't wait to tell Jean. I have the same nickname as the titan ripper!" He grinned. Dilan smiled.

"Did I surprise you?" She asked. Eren blinked at her.

"Huh?" He asked stupidly. Dilan rolled her eyes.

"The first time we met you asked me if I was the Titan ripper. You looked surprised." She reminded. Eren made a face of realisation and blushed a bit.

"Well... yeah." He admitted, averting his eyes. "No offense but you just don't look all that... titan rippery." He explained, cringing as he did so.

Dilan smirked.

"That so? What was I rumoured to look like?" She asked, amused. Eren blushed a bit more.

"Kinda mannish if I'm honest." He mumbled. Dilan laughed at that.

"I guess that checks out." She agreed.

"But you don't!" Eren blurted out.

Dilan laughed, poking his forehead.

"How sweet of you to say." She teased and Eren blushed again.

There was a moment of peaceful silence.

"I always looked up to you, you know. It was inspirational to hear all the things you did." Eren pointed out, looking at her with admiration. Dilan smiled.

"I doubt many of them are true." She said. Eren didn't look doubtful.

"You saved 50 scouts from a whole swarm of titans on your second expedition! You did that didn't you?" He asked. Dilan hesitated.

"Well... yes."

"And you were only 20 years old when you were promoted to major and took control of a taskforce to take back wall Maria. What's more you had the best results for titan kills and almost all your soldiers made it back!" He continued. Dilan was surprised his information was so accurate.

"You writing a book, kid?" She asked. Eren blushed and chuckled.

"No. I'm just a fan." He admitted. Dilan smiled warmly. It was nice to be idolised, even if she didn't deserve it.

"Well it's sweet of you, kid, but you don't want to grow up like me." She commented softly, looking out at the horizon.

Eren looked at her for a second.

"Forgive me if I'm overstepping Major but... are you okay? I know I don't know you very well, but you seemed to be upset since we came here." Eren asked kindly. Dilan looked at him in shock. This kid must be observant, I wasn't being obvious. "Sorry, I shouldn't have asked-" He backtracked quickly but Dilan cut him off, cracking a smile.

"No, it was kind of you to do so. Admittedly, I wasn't having the best few days and I'm sorry for being so distant. Thank you for asking Eren, chatting with you made my crappy day a bit better." She replied genuinely and Eren blushed again but smiled back.

"Honestly I feel the same. You're all nice people but I've felt a little out of place here. I kind of wanted to talk to you, since only you and the Captain treat me normally, and I doubted he would want to be my friend. Everyone else treads on eggshells. But hell, I can turn into a giant monster so who can blame them." He mumbled, depressed.

Dilan's eyes softened. She could relate to having everyone looking at you like a monster.

"Savage." She said and Eren looked at her with confusion.

"Sorry?" He asked. Dilan smiled.

"When I came up from the underground, people called me a savage. The truth is a lot of people are shitty and are going to do their best to make others feel shit about themselves. But if it helps, these guys are some of the less shitty ones and I think if you give them some time, you'll see that. Until then, I'd love to be your friend, okay kid?" She offered, ruffling his hair.

Eren beamed at her.

"Okay." He agreed happily. Dilan chuckled and stood up.

"Good. We've probably hidden away long enough. Let's head back, yeah?" She suggested. Eren nodded and stood up too. "So, what other rumours have you heard about yours truly?" Dilan smirked.

Eren chuckled.

"Apparently you can actually fly and the 3DMG is just for show." Eren informed and Dilan shrugged. He balked at her. "IT'S TRUE?!" He exclaimed like the gullible shit he was.

"No comment." She teased and Eren chuckled in response.

LEVI'S P.O.V.

It was another few days later and Levi was slowly crumbling. He didn't know it would be this hard to say away from her. It was mentally and physically taxing. He had only had 3 hours of sleep in the last week and he was pretty sure he hallucinated a titan in his room last night unless Eren decided he wanted to hang at 4 in the morning.

In short, he wasn't doing too fucking well.

He needed his brat but she wasn't here and that was his own fault. He had pushed, more like shoved, her away. It was for her own good but even that wasn't convincing him to stay away anymore.

The worst part was that Dilan seemed to be doing better. She seemed to have gotten over it. Gotten over him. That's exactly what he comforted himself with earlier and now that very same fact was tearing him up on the inside. Perhaps Dilan didn't care as much as he thought. Perhaps he had finally pissed her off enough for her to just let him go. He wouldn't be surprised at this point. He was a mess. She didn't deserve to be burdened with a mess like him.

Levi sighed, rubbing his face tiredly and shrugging on his jacket before stepping out of his room. Hanji and her squad were still around. She had been doing a number of tests on Eren this week focusing on his human form and apparently the results were promising. Levi had taken her word for it, not intending on listening to a bunch of scientific rambles that made no sense.

Today they were going to test his titan form. Levi was going to be there to intervene, as was Dilan. He was confident they would be fine but if Eren did go berserk and they had to take him down they were going to have to chop of his limbs. There was a chance they would grow back but this was not a certainty. Eren didn't seem too happy about the idea and Levi honestly couldn't blame him for that one but with a few threatening words of encouragement he managed to get Eren on board.

Levi got down into the dining room, sitting down at the table with everyone else. The squad greeted him, and he nodded in response, so they got back to their conversations.

Levi sighed and poured himself a cup of tea, his eyes glancing over to Dilan. She was sitting next to Eren, talking with him. The boy looked kind of nervous and Levi could only assume Dilan was comforting him. She rolled her eyes and smiled, ruffling his hair and the kid perked up a bit.

For a second Levi was mesmerised. She had such a beautiful smile.

Then Dilan looked at him and he immediately looked away, internally cursing himself for his decisions. He wanted her back but what could he do? Yes, she had hurt him, but it was unintentional. Levi had hurt her more by doing what he did, and it didn't seem like he was going to be forgiven anytime soon. Although he hadn't spoken to her so he had no idea what she was thinking.

Maybe he should talk to her, try and clear the air. But was he being selfish by thinking this way? Perhaps she was finally happy. Perhaps he had made the right call.

Ugh, I have no fucking clue anymore.

"Eren! How are you feeling this morning?" Hanji smiled as she came through the doors. Eren smiled back.

"Kind of nervous." He confessed.

"You'll be fine, kid." Dilan reassured and he took a breath, nodding. Levi had noticed Eren and Dilan had become a lot closer in the last week. They seemed to have adopted the rolls of brother and older sister. In fact, Dilan was always with Eren. Weird, Levi hadn't seen her spend any time with her boyfriend. Sometimes Petra, Gunther and Oluo but never with Eld.

Did they just hang out in their room or was something going on?

"Of course, he will! He passed with flying colours on all of his other tests." Hanji grinned.

"I didn't know you could fail a blood test." Oluo snarked and Petra elbowed him in the side.

"Don't listen to him Eren, you'll be fine." Hanji assured, resting a hand on his shoulder. Eren nodded.

Levi hoped for everyone's sakes that Eren was fine.

They were all staking their futures on him.

DILAN'S P.O.V.

Dilan sighed as they rode on their horses towards the well. The last few days had been better, plenty agonising but better than the last and she had managed to come over her dark spell.

Of course, the nights were the worst.

Eld had tried to apologise for what he said but Dilan could tell he didn't even think he had said anything wrong. They had recently stopped talking altogether and Dilan was pretty sure their relationship was hanging by a thread. Dilan wasn't exactly sure why she was still with him. They were both clearly miserable.

She just couldn't believe this had happened to them. They used to be such great friends. Dilan was scared that if she broke up with him she would lose him completely.

She had lost Levi already; she didn't know if she could lose anyone else.

Hanging out with Eren during the day always helped to brighten her spirits. He was a good kid and Dilan liked his company. He was so innocent and excitable about everything. He hadn't seen the cruelty of the world in full form yet, he still had that spark for adventure, for change. That spark that realistically had all died in them a while ago. But with Eren around, with this new hope that he brought, Dilan liked to think perhaps her spark could relight.

Perhaps she could hold hope for the future.

Still no matter if the future held titans or not, it still looked dark without her best friend. She was starting to believe he was going to keep this up forever. He was just so... far away. Dilan felt so lost without him that every time she looked at him, she felt a sharp pain in her heart. It's why she had been trying not to look at him at all recently. It was just too hard. What's worse was that Hanji wouldn't shut up about it. Always encouraging Dilan to go and talk to him but Dilan didn't think she was stable enough to be shut down right now.

They got to experiment base, and Hanji's squad started scrambling around, setting up the equipment. Levi squad was just around for protection purposes, so they didn't have much to do. Still they all got off their horses and look to their Captain for orders.

"Tie down your horses and stay alert. Eyes on Yeager. Understood?" Levi asked, glancing over to Eren who was being pulled along by Hanji.

Everyone nodded.

"Yes sir!" They replied, leading their horse over to some posts, their Captain heading off in the opposite direction.

"Do you think this is going to work?" Petra asked.

"It has to otherwise the whole scout regiment is in deep shit." Eld commented.

"Not to mention Eren would be killed." Dilan pointed out. Petra's eyes saddened at the mention.

"I would not want to be in his situation." Gunther emphasised.

"Tch. He's still a greenhorn brat. He should watch his mouth, or I'll put an end to him right here." Oluo snarked and Dilan rolled her eyes.

"Stop trying to talk like Captain Levi, you don't sound like him!" Petra said for the millionth time.

Oluo scoffed.

"I don't know what you're talking about Petra, dear, I just- ow!" Oluo choked on his tongue and Dilan stopped paying attention.

She looked outwards, grazing her eyes over the land until they caught Levi's from across the field and her heart started pounding. For once, he didn't look away, so she didn't either. Her heart jumped in hope and she took a step forward, intending on going to talk to him. She saw Levi take a step towards her to and her lips twitched upwards on the way to a smile before she felt a hand on her shoulder and turned to meet Eld.

The ghost of a smile was immediately gone.

"What?" She asked, glaring at him. Eld sighed.

"Dil, you can't keep this up forever. Talk to me." He whispered, not wanting the squad to hear. Dilan scoffed, shrugging his hand off her shoulder.

"So now you want to talk? What an inconvenience, surely it would be easier to pawn me off to a psychiatrist." She snapped and Eld clenched his jaw.

They glared at each other.

"Everything... okay?" Gunther asked slowly, sensing the tension.

"Fucking fantastic." She mumbled, turning to leave. She looked back at Levi, but he was talking to Hanji. The opportunity was lost, and her heart sunk.

She was on the verge of ripping her hair out.

"Alright everyone, let's get this thing started!" Hanji yelled. Dilan rubbed her face and walked towards Eren, needing a break from her life.

"Hey kid, how you doing?" Dilan asked. Eren fidgeted nervously.

"Um... okay, I guess. But what if something goes wrong? What if I do something? What if I hurt someone?" He rambled. Dilan gave him a reassuring smile and put a hand on his shoulder.

"You're going in a well for a reason, kid. But I don't think you could ever hurt us. You'll learn to control it; I know you will." She comforted and Eren breathed out, calming down.

"Okay. Thanks Dilan." He smiled. Dilan smiled back and nodded in approval.

"You're welcome. Let's go yeah?" She suggested and he nodded. They walked over to the well where Hanji and Levi were standing.

"So how does this work?" Levi asked, crossing his arms.

"We'll lower Eren into the well and after I fire my flare gun, he'll do his thing. The size of the well will trap him, and I can start my experiments!" She squealed.

The three nodded.

"You'll be fine, Eren." Dilan said, offering one last piece of encouragement. He gave her a grateful look before walking over to the well and climbing down the ladder.

"We better stand back a bit." Hanji suggested and they nodded, moving to a safe distance. Hanji waited until Eren would have gotten to the bottom of the ladder before plugging her ears and firing the flare.

They waited in a tense silence.

Nothing happened.

"Shit." Levi mumbled. Dilan was in agreement, if he couldn't pull this off, it was over.

"I'm going to go check on him." Dilan muttered under her breath before walking towards the well.

"Dil wait. It's dangerous." Levi protested and Dilan stopped for a second to look at him, curiously. That was the first time he was even a smidge informal with her in the last week.

"EREN!" Hanji yelled, ignoring Levi's instructions completely to run to the edge. When she gasped Dilan snapped her head around, worried. She ran to Hanji's side, as did Levi and their eyes widened in horror at Eren's bloodied form at the bottom of the pit.

"I-I'm sorry..." He choked out, blood dribbling down his mouth. Dilan gasped and climbed up on the edge to jump down into the well before anyone could stop her. She got to the bottom and pulled the boy into a much-needed hug. "I'm sorry." He repeated, fear in his tone. Dilan couldn't blame him.

If he couldn't turn then they were going to kill him.

"It's okay. Come on, let's get you cleaned up, alright? It'll be fine, we'll try again." She reassured gently. Eren let out a shaky breath and nodded, calming down.

Dilan got Eren out of the pit and calmed him down, cleaning the many bite marks on his hands and bandaging them up. They looked so painful; Dilan hoped there was a more humane way for him to change but Eren didn't seem to mind for the moment.

Hanji went off to talk to her squad somewhere, probably about the next plan of action if Eren couldn't transform. The rest of the squad were currently drinking tea at a bench on the side and Dilan hoped they would be able to keep Eren calm for the minute.

She had someone she wanted to talk to.

Taking a few deep breaths and gathering some courage, Dilan walked over to Levi who was standing by his horse, stroking its neck. She swallowed down her fear and walked over to him, not bothering to be casual and tending to her own horse.

She wanted to talk to him.

Now.

She needed her best friend back because it felt like she was falling apart. Levi looked at her as she stopped walking and Dilan relaxed a bit as his eyes softened. He didn't look mad that she'd come over. She opened her mouth to say something when lightning struck down and an something exploded behind them. The strength of the explosion sent a gust of hot steam and Dilan stumbled into Levi. Their eyes widened in surprise and they looked to see a massive titan hand, a very scared Eren connected to the top.

The others reacted fast, unsheathing their blades and surrounding him.

"EREN! WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING!" Eld yelled.

Dilan's eyes widened and she reached for her blades but Levi stopped her, giving her a look to calm down, which she did so instantly before he walked towards the scene, stepping in between Eren and the squad.

"S-sir please..." Eren tried but they werent listening.

"NO ONE GAVE YOU PERMISSION TO TRANSFORM, DID THEY!?" He asked.

"Calm down." Levi ordered. Dilan's heart was beating fast, unsure what to do. Of course, she trusted Eren, but she couldn't blame the squad for reacting the way they did. It was her first impulse too. Right now, as much as it made her stomach twist in guilt, he was a titan before he was a person.

He was a threat.

They had to act now and ask questions later.

"ANSWER EREN! WHAT GOT INTO YOU?!" Oluo demanded, their fear outweighing their order to calm down.

"LEAVE IT! EXPLANATIONS CAN COME LATER. RIGHT NOW, YOU NEED TO CONVINCE US YOU ARE NOT A THREAT TO HUMANITY LIKE YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!" Gunther yelled, advancing towards him. Eren's eyes widened in fear. "PROVE IT!"

"TWITCH AN ARM AND YOU'RE AS GOOD AS DEAD, GREENHORN! I CAN END YOU IN A HEARTBEAT, UNDERSTAND ME BOY!" Oluo continued and Dilan's eyes were flicking back and forth, her hands inching towards her blades.

"Calm down! How many times do I have to say it!" Levi interfered but they weren't listening to him.

"CAPTAIN! I NEED YOU TO STEP AWAY! YOU'RE TOO CLOSE!" Petra yelled. Levi glanced at her.

"I believe right now; you are the ones too close." He answered calmly and Dilan's breath hitched.

They weren't just pointing their blades at Eren but Levi too. They needed to calm down before an accident happened.

Eren could regenerate. Levi couldn't.

She unsheathed her blades and walked towards them. But she didn't join the squad's side. She stood in front of Levi.

They looked at her in shock.

"Dil what are you-!?" Gunther yelled but Dilan cut him off with a look.

"I believe your Captain told you to back off." She warned, not liking where their blades were pointed.

"DILAN YOU-" Petra looked at her with fear and horror.

"Now!" Dilan ordered and they faltered, sensing her tone. She was not to be trifled with. Three of them backed down a bit, lowering their blades slightly but Eld stayed firm.

"Dilan get away from that creature right this fucking second!" Eld said in a low tone.

Dilan glared at him.

"Eld... get the hell back before I restrain you." She warned. Eld lowered his blades slightly, looking between Dilan and Levi in disbelief. There was a tense silence interrupted by Hanji's shrill screaming as she raced towards them.

"EREN!" She squealed, shoving past Gunther as she got right up close. "I WANNA TOUCH THE ARM! LET ME TOUCH THIS GLORIOUS ARM! PLEASE!" She begged, drool escaping the side of her mouth.

"I-I don't think that's a good idea- Wait!" Eren warned but Hanji paid him no attention, touching the steaming arm and her face twisted in pain.

"ARGH! THAT MOTHER IS HOT!" Hanji screamed. "THIS IS THE GREATEST DAY EVER! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!" She cackled.

"Section commander!" Moblit yelled, worried.

Dilan sighed, shaking her head in disbelief, she sheathed her blades. Looking at Levi, he nodded, and they turned their attention to Eren as Hanji started throwing various unanswerable questions at him. Suddenly Eren started pulling at the arm and everyone stood at attention again.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING? HEY! ARE YOU IGNORING ME?!" Oluo yelled, clearly displeased he wasn't at the centre of attention.

Eren let out a yell of effort as he managed to pull his arm out of the structure, toppling to the ground and the titan arm started to combust.

Hanji screamed.

"NO! NO! NO! I WANTED TO PUT IT UNDER THE KNIFE!" She wailed. Dilan paid her no attention, crouching down by Eren's side. His head was hanging, and he was breathing heavily.

"S-sorry..." He panted. Dilan shared a look with Levi.

He didn't look good.

"So, you alright or what?" Levi asked. Eren collapsed slightly.

"...not... really..." He admitted quietly. Dilan pulled him into a hug, rubbing his back while calmed down. He dropped his head on her shoulder and managed to loosely hug her back.

It wasn't long before Eren passed out from exhaustion.

"Get him on a horse. We're going back." Levi ordered before walking away.

"Yes sir!" They replied.

LEVI'S P.O.V.

The squad got Eren back and Hanji tended to him while Levi lectured his subordinates on their disobedience, reminding everyone that he was in charge of not only Eren but themselves and fear was not an adequate excuse to disobey orders.

Dilan was the only one who behaved like a proper soldier and he was thankful that the brat had stepped in when she did. If she hadn't calmed them all down the situation could have turned out a lot worse. It was at times like these when he was thankful Dilan was his second more than usual. The girl seemed to always know what he needed. But that was inside and outside of work.

Dilan always had his back no matter what.

While the explosion was an inconvenience, Levi found himself resenting Eren for choosing that very moment to lose control. Dilan was about to talk to him; he was about to talk to her.

While he started this whole no friend's thing, it wouldn't take much to persuade him out of it at this point. If Dilan wanted to be friends again Levi didn't have any intentions of rejecting her. He missed his best friend and he missed talking to her. Sure, it was hard to be around her and keep boundaries, but he would just have to ensure he wouldn't break them again . Being friends was much less agonising than not being friends at all.

He needed his brat.

Eren woke from his exhaustion a few hours later and came to the table where everyone was sitting waiting for him in silence. He looked nervous and sad and was refusing to meet anyone's eyes. Levi knew he was hurt by the squad's distrust in him since he had a talk with him just after he woke up. Levi had explained that as soldiers they had to react first and ask questions later. It's how they were taught and how they had stayed alive so long. Thankfully, Eren seemed to understand.

That didn't mean he wasn't still hurt, that much was clear from the distant expression on his face.

When he came inside Hanji proceeded to explain that Eren needed a purpose to transform. And that his titan ability was activated when he tried to pick up a spoon. Eren seemed as baffled by this as the rest of them, reaffirming Levi's original belief that his fuck up was not intentional.

"So, from what I understand, you didn't mean to transform?" Gunther asked after a moment of tense silence. Eren looked at Dilan for support and she gave him a small smile of reassurance before he turned back to Eld.

"No sir." He replied. Eld sighed and shared a look with the rest of the squad. Levi looked at them curiously, wondering what they were planning to do.

They lifted their hand to their mouths and bit down hard. Levi was surprised but he said nothing, same as Dilan.

This must be their way of apologising.

Eren's eyes widened, obviously not understanding.

"What are you-?!" He flustered. The squad winced, pulling their hand away.

"Damn, kid. That fucking hurts." Eld mumbled.

"We made a judgement call today and it was wrong. We're sorry." Gunther apologised.

"We have to make spur of the moment decisions okay! We have to keep you in check!" Oluo raised his voice slightly and Levi resisted the urge to roll his eyes.

"The fact is we were scared. We're doomed if we can't trust you and that works both ways." Petra said seriously and Eren's eyes widened. "Eren, I'm asking you to trust us." She repeated.

Eren nodded in understanding, cracking a smile.

Levi looked at Dilan remembering a similar conversation between them once. The day Levi gave his trust to her and she gave it back to him. There had been unwavering trust between them ever since. Even during their ups and down's Levi had utter faith in her and Dilan had the same in him. Whether they were friends or not currently was regardless. They would always have trust. That's not easily broken. Dilan looked back at him and he could tell she was thinking the same thing. It gave him some comfort.

Even if they never made up they would always have trust.

DILAN'S P.O.V.

It was later that evening and Dilan was sitting on the edge of her bed, tapping her foot. Eld wasn't back yet and she wasn't sure what was going to happen when he came back. She was going to talk to him. She didn't know what would happen, but she knew she would be able to live with it. They couldn't go on the way they were. It was time to address the problems they were having.

Dilan looked up as the door opened and Eld came through. He closed it behind him, and their eyes met.

"We need to talk." Dilan said seriously. Eld nodded in agreement, crossing his arms. She took a breath. Guess they'd start simple. "Are you happy?" She asked. Eld hesitated.

"No." He answered. Dilan bit her lip and nodded.

"Because I won't have sex with you." She inferred.

Eld sighed.

"Honestly, yes. I know it's shallow, but intimacy is part of a relationship, a big part that I don't think I can cope without." He admitted. Dilan swallowed, nodding in understanding. She didn't think it was something that would change. No matter how much she wanted it to. "Do you really not trust me enough to take that step?" Eld asked.

Dilan looked at him.

"No." She confessed, as long as they were being honest. Still, she didn't miss the look of hurt in Eld's eyes. "But I doubt I could trust anyone with that. Look... I probably should have told you this a while ago... but um..." She took a breath, looking down. "I... I was raped. Once when I was 14 and again when I was 18. I-It's why I struggle with intimacy." She said shakily, wringing her hands.

Eld's eyes widened in shock and regret twisted onto his face.

"Shit. Dilan I am so sorry." He apologised, sitting down next to her and taking her hand for support. Dilan let out a breath, giving him a weak smile and squeezing the hand back.

"Don't be, you didn't know." She reassured but Eld shook his head.

"It doesn't matter. I said such horrible things. I was such a fucking asshole. Oh god, I called you irrational." He choked out, his eyes watering up a bit.

Dilan smiled sadly.

"I won't lie, that was a dicky thing to say. But you didn't know, don't beat yourself up." She assured. Eld sighed, rubbing his face. "We're running on fumes, Eld. I don't think I could ever want that-"

"But now I know-"

"It doesn't change anything." Dilan cut him off kindly. "You need what I can't give you. There's no point being in denial and dragging this out." She pointed out.

Eld sighed.

"You aren't happy either then." He interpreted. Dilan gave him an apologetic look and shook her head.

"I feel like I'm pretending. Pretending to be the person you want me to be. I'm not that person Eld. I can't be who you need me to be and I don't like what's happened to us." She admitted, a tear spilling down her face. Eld smiled sadly and wiped it away.

"I know. I wish things were different, but they aren't. We aren't right for each other, maybe we never were. I mean look at us. We were driving each other crazy." He smiled and Dilan chuckled.

"That we were. I missed my friend. I missed Greenie." She smiled. Eld laughed a bit, nodding.

"I missed you too." He admitted.

There was a moment of silence.

"So, we're done?" Eld asked for confirmation. Dilan gave him a sad smile.

"I think so. You're not mad at me, right?" She asked. Eld smiled and shook his head.

"I'll always love you Dil, but you're right. I need to let you go." He replied. Dilan smiled and pulled him into a hug. She took a deep breath, sighing in relief. She hadn't felt so much like herself in a long time. "As your friend, can I tell you something?" Eld asked.

Dilan pulled back to look at him.

"What?" She asked, tilting her head.

"You should be with the Captain." He informed reluctantly and Dilan's eyes widened.

"Eld-"

"I know you love him. Honestly, it fucked with me for a while. Probably why I got so jealous and possessive and became a general twat." He cringed, rubbing the back of his neck. "But today I finally understood. Back there with Eren. Between me and the Captain, you chose him. You will always choose him." Eld said and Dilan blinked out another tear.

He smiled for reassurance.

"It's okay, Dil. It'll hurt for a while, but I love you and I want the best for you. You should be with the Captain." He repeated. Dilan bit her lip, unbelieving of what he was telling her to do.

She hadn't seen this side of Eld in a long time.

The selfless side.

"Eld." She whispered, stroking the side of his face. Eld smiled and kissed her forehead, pulling her into another hug.

"You'll go for it, yeah? You deserve to be happy." He whispered. Dilan hugged him tighter.

"You'll find your happiness too, I know it. It's just not with me." She comforted. Eld chuckled.

"Hmm... maybe I'll find a nice florist, settle down, pop out a kid or two." He mused.

Dilan chuckled.

"Sounds lovely." She smiled. Eld smiled back, squeezing her hand one last time before standing up and taking a breath.

"I'll bunk with Gunther and pick up my stuff tomorrow." He suggested. Dilan stood up too and nodded. "I'm glad we talked, Dil. It sucks but it's real. I missed being real with you." He admitted.

Dilan smiled and hugged him one more time.

"I'm glad we talked too." She smiled after pulling back. Eld said goodnight and left her room. Dilan sighed out in relief, sitting back down. That was one weight off her chest. She was glad they were going to remain friends.

She sighed and sunk into her covers looking up at her ceiling.

I wonder what Levi would say... if I told him I love him?

A/N: GUYSSSSSS! WE ARE SO FUCKING CLOSE! ONE MORE CHAPTER TO GO!

We all knew Levi blanking her wasn't going to last long. The idiots in too deep. It would be impossible to stay away from her. And Dilan... well she made a fucking mess but she's determined to clean it up.

The talk with Eld was really needed. Not only because they weren't right for each other but to set everything on the table. About Dilan's past and the reasoning behind Eld's possessiveness. They both got stuff of their chests and it was clear in the end why they weren't working out. They both needed support that the other couldn't give them. Some people are just better off as friends.

But guys. Think about it. By the end of the next chapter Dilan and Levi will be together. It's crazy that I've only been writing this story for a few months. I mean with 56 chapters, it feels a lot like the 8 years that these characters have gone through. Weird.

Also by the way, I wanted to make it clear that the story doesn't end after the next chapter for anyone that thought that. I am not that cruel as to make you wait 56 chapters, give you a taste of their relationship and then end the story. No. Even I feel like I need more and I'm writing the damn thing lol.

I also wanted to say that I am aware it was very confusing but Nile Dok is not the Nile that tormented Dilan all those years ago. It was unfortunate that they shared the name and it was poor forward thinking on my part but if you go back and read it again you'll see that Nile Dok is not Nile Maynard. Maynard is the subordinate to Dok, first lieutenant and the bastard that Dilan taught a lesson. I think I'm going to go back and change his name to something different so it's a lot less confusing for everyone since i'm not sure if Nile will appear again in my story yet. If I do plan on it and i've changed the name, i'll let you know the chapter before in the A/N so no ones confused. Totally my fault, I'll be sure to fix it when I get the time.

The next chapter will be a bit shorter. Around 7K, and a lot of it will be more light hearted than the others. The last few chapters have been pretty dark and just drenched in frustration. I hope this one will be a bit of a break from that.

I've actually already written it. God, I must have edited the confession at least 10 times. It needed to be perfect, you know? Yes. I am borderline obsessive with my own FanFiction. In my defence, it's lockdown and writing calms me, lol.

And like I promised I wanted to respond to those who commented on the last chapter.

MordredVisor: I'm so glad you liked my last update. It's good to know you think the cannon aspect of the story is going well. I didn't want to make it boring but I didn't want to go completely off script either. It's hard to find that balance but I'm trying my best. I hope I'm doing okay so far! Dilan really is dumb, lol. I think probably deep down she knows but she's scared. Because she knows being with Levi is real and it's what she really wants and she's scared to get that because Dilan's the type of person that'll worry about fucking up her relationship with her own problems. Aren't we all, lol. Sorry about the cliffhanger on the last chapter. And this one again. I just can't resist. Good to know I'm not alone in my procrastination, lol. Thanks for commenting, I love hearing from you!

vain-gl0ry: Hey! I feel like all I do is apologise about how much I torture you, but again, sorry. Lmao, you've been with this story so long and I'm so grateful for all your comments! Seriously, you are an amazing motivator, lol. Dilan is totally Eren's big sister. It's adorable. And I know, Dilan was a bitch in the last chapter but she's really made up for it in this one. The girls getting her priorities straight and starting to decide what she really wants. Originally I was set on having Levi be the one to confess first but honestly I just don't see it happening that way now. He's been hiding it for too long, it'll be near impossible for him to make the first jump. Besides, I actually really like the idea of Dilan confessing first. Now that she knows what she wants, it makes sense. She's independent after all. She doesn't need to wait for Levi to make the first move now. But yeah, sorry for ranting. I'll make sure to update soon. And Dilan will have a 'decent fucking apology and confession to Levi', I'll make sure of it, lol. Thanks for commenting as always! Hope to hear from you again!

Sodabo: Hi! Thanks for commenting! Do not worry! Dilan and Levi will go on. I'm not stopping at the confession. We're going to the end of Cannon season 3, maybe 4 depending on my inspiration for the last season. But I do have some big plans. I hope you keep reading along! Loved to hear from you!

Mia: I know! They are so frustrating! But hey, just one more chapter! And thank you for saying that but I am a massive procrastinator, lol. The only thing I don't procrastinate on is my writing. Whenever I'm stressed, i just open my computer and let all my frustrations out on my keyboard. It's why I upload so much, lol. I'm literally always writing. But heres the thing... I write even when I'm supposed to be doing my actual work. Hence my procrastination. I am so behind with school, but no regrets lol. Doing this story has pretty much saved me from a breakdown and I have all of you guys to thank for that! Thanks for commenting!

Angie200116: Yo! I'm so glad you are liking the Dilan and Eren, I hope I made you proud with this chapter. It was always the plan from the beginning to make them super close. Eren needs that support and I honestly don't know how he survived three seasons without a Dilan-like character backing him up. Of course, he had his friends and Levi and the others but I feel like he really needed a big sis. Dilan will provide. I actually think they are really similar in a way. Not the same way Dilan and Levi are similar but both her and Eren are very caring about people in general. They try to save everyone and always focus on the people rather than the orders. Plus they try to take on the world with no back-up. Suicidal maniacs. The only difference is that Dilan is a lot more skilled than Eren, lol (if you don't count titan form). I think we were all a bit disappointed in Dilan last chapter but she's made up for it, I think. And don't worry. There is definitely going to be a gap before the confession but I'm not going to say anymore than that. Sorry, no spoilers. And I love the name! Dilvi, it's cute. Very them, lol. Thanks for reviewing! I really appreciate it, especially since you're busy. I hope your test went well! Thanks again for reading!

SaraphinaK: Hey! No way, what a coincidence, lol. I felt Missy was a very kind name and would suit the nurse well. Thanks for commenting and for reading along with my story all this time. I appreciate it. Hope to hear from you again some time!

As always, thank you to everyone who is reading my story and thank you to those who comment too! I hope you are all well! Stay safe! X
