Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron - Get Off My Back

Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron - Tied To a Post (chapter ends around 1:31)

Sorry for the years-long wait, for those of you still reading this ^^; This chapter was posted on my DeviantArt ages ago, but I never got around to adding it on other platforms for some reason. Anyways, enjoy (or don't, I won't judge)

Overwatch, Genji (c) Blizzard Entertainment

Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron (c) Dreamworks

AU & Fanfic (c) Me

As Genji was led towards an unfamiliar set of doors, the man's words from before replayed in his mind.

"I think it's time to show this cyborg some discipline."

The cyborg's captors already had, in the most inhumane ways possible, cropped his hair short and - unsuccessfully - tried to brand him as their property. But Genji wasn't going to let them break him any more than that.

If they were going to show him "discipline", he was going to fight back.

A few moments later, Genji found himself in a training arena of some sort.

And he wasn't alone either.

The Japanese cyborg had been brought here by two men and the grey-suited man from earlier, but they weren't the only people here. Word of the "new recruit" had obviously reached other parts of the building, as a fairly large crowd was gathered in the large room before Genji.

Whatever happened next, he'd show these people that he wasn't going to back down.

Genji faced the man in front of him, who seemed to be armed with a short whip or stick of some sort. He was ready.

A nod from the grey-clad man on the sidelines, and the rope around the cyborg's wrists was untied. His hands were free.

Genji needed no further invitation to fight.

His captors had taken his blades from him, but Genji still - quite literally - had a few tricks up his sleeve. They hadn't counted on the shurikens stored in his arms.

The cyborg ninja ran towards the man in front of him and shoved his shoulder into his chest. Winded, the man made to strike back. But Genji was too fast for him. Ducking and rolling, he avoided his opponent's blow and came up behind him. As the man recovered, the cyborg readied a punch, intending to knock the man out. The man spun around, but Genji wasn't going to give up his plan. He aimed a swift blow of his metal fist towards his opponent's jaw. It connected, sending the man crashing against the floor.

Breathing heavily, Genji composed himself once more. As people from the sidelines rushed to the man's aid, the ninja just nodded at his fallen adversary. He looked over at the grey-suited man, who wore a displeased look.

A moment later, another man stepped forward to face Genji. He picked up the previous man's weapon and readied himself. Genji just smirked. He was starting to enjoy the opportunity to fight back.

Taking advantage of the other man's slightly smaller build, Genji ran towards him. Taking his new adversary by surprise, the cyborg grappled him and violently wrestled him to the ground. After a moment of pinning his opponent, Genji tossed him aside. The cybernetic ninja started to walk away when he heard the man behind him.

"Lousy cyborg!"

What did you say?

At this remark Genji ran back towards the man and, unsheathing his shurikens, threw all three of them in his direction. The man ducked out of the way as the metal stars embedded themselves in the far wall. Genji walked over to retrieve his weapons as the man hastily ran back to the sidelines. Withdrawing the shurikens from the wall, Genji threw another smirk in the grey-suited man's direction.

This time, he looked even more unamused. He had obviously underestimated the cyborg's capabilities. Nonetheless, he signalled for another fighter to go forward.

Genji eagerly faced his new opponent, knowing that the man would be no match for him.

Several more people were sent out after that. All of them failed to tame the cyborg ninja's fighting spirit.

After he had taken down yet another man, Genji once more glanced over at the sidelines.

"Get the training dummies. Tire him out," Genji heard the grey-suited man say to some of the others.

The cyborg just narrowed his eyes at him, welcoming the new challenge.

The training dummies did not survive long.

One by one, Genji reduced the metal robot-like dummies to scrap. He threw shuriken after shuriken at them and used his physical strength against them, aggressively tackling, punching and kicking until they were destroyed. Just like the men earlier, the dummies did not stand a chance against the cyborg ninja.

By now Genji had exerted himself so much that his shoulder vents were releasing steam. But he wasn't going to give up yet.

Genji glanced in the grey-uniformed man's direction. This time he really did look angry, but satisfied that his captive was now tired out.

He signalled for another man to go forward, but Genji wasn't done yet.

The next few men went the same way as the ones before them, each one being dealt with slightly differently as the cyborg savoured his revenge. He threw one into the crowd. Shoved another one against the wall. Sent one flying to the opposite end of the room. Finally, angry and steaming, Genji turned and ran full force back to the other end. Unsheathing his shurikens once more, he ran right up to the grey-suited man and held the weapons to his throat. Still breathing heavily, teeth gritted, Genji glared into the man's stern, unaffected face.

After a moment, the man signalled to one of his henchmen, his attention still focused on the furious cyborg before him.

"Put this cyborg in solitary confinement. No food or water. Three days."

Genji saw the other man nod.

"Yes sir."

Genji agitatedly paced back and forth in his cell, still feeling the same hatred for his captors that he had felt all day. He had only been in here for a few hours, but boredom, hunger and thirst had already begun to creep into his system.

He already knew this was going to be hell.

After pacing some more, the Japanese cyborg stopped and briefly looked around his cell. In the centre a metal bench, with a very thin sheet, was the only bed he could see. There wasn't anything else in the cell except for an empty shelf unit at one end, a chamber pot, and a mirror with a small shelf underneath at the other end.

Noticing the mirror, Genji slowly walked over to it.

Stunned, the cyborg didn't recognize the reflection that stared back. He raised a hand and ran it through his shorn hair, unused to the short spiky strands. After a few moments, Genji placed his hand against the mirror. He placed his head against it and closed his eyes, gritting his teeth.

What have I got myself into?

It was now a good few hours after nightfall, and Genji was finding it difficult to sleep. His cybernetic body did not require much food or water, but hunger and thirst still gnawed at his human mind.

That was not the only thing keeping him awake, however.

Turning over from where he lay on his back, Genji looked up. Through the single barred window of his cell, he could see the many stars that illuminated the dark sky. Gazing at a particularly bright one, he thought of Overwatch, and the Watchpoint in Gibraltar. His family. Home.

Genji wondered if they missed him as much as he missed them.

Hanzo... Cole... everyone...

The cyborg couldn't help tearing up a little as he thought of those he had left behind. He sighed, his heart aching. Slowly, Genji rolled onto his back once more and laid his head against the hard bench.

It was going to be a very long night.
