Living Island Part 4
[East Coast: Coastal Military Base]
01:30 P.M.
The coast where the battle against the monsters on the islands was becoming a real battlefield, the dinosaur bodies were piled up in mounds, and that was only the ones that reached the coast.
Without Superman interrupting the advance of the Pterodactyls Ororo had to deal with a warlike amount of monsters, the sky she was in became a true storm, with lightning and tornadoes destroying everything that came close.
But she was already getting tired, she couldn't maintain that level of power for that long without wearing herself out. Logan was no better, with his uniform torn and blood from healed wounds. His claws didn't lose their edge, even after cutting through solid flesh for hours, the soldiers also took losses, with many unable to react to the attacks.
Ross seeing this was getting worried, he had already called for reinforcements, but the superiors were too scared of the situation to think straight, he was furious at having to depend on Individuals who in his conception defied the logic of the world.
He looked at the storm acting as a wall, he wondered what would happen if that power turned against his country, would they have a chance? , the more he thought about it the more he felt compelled to prepare countermeasures , already thinking about accelerating projects with Bruce Banner.
Logan was on the ground alone, Ross had ordered the men to hold the base and shoot anyone who approached, Logan didn't feel insulted, it was a valid strategy since they didn't heal like he did.
He brushed, punched and slashed at everything he was attacking, these beasts did not stop and he felt his old habits returning, he felt his face twisting into a smile, he hated feeling good amidst all this carnage, but his senses were getting worse out of your control.
"Haaaa!!!" He roared as he attacked more and more.
[Living Island]
01:40 P.M.
POV : Nick Fury
"Seven hells." I was in hostile territory and with a partner who was unconscious, damn it when the world decided to spit on logic and send something beyond comprehension.
Focus Nick, you've seen worse things, I took the heavy weaponry I had brought with me, the jet was very well built, even with this impact it was still functional, but I couldn't leave so soon.
The sounds of claws rubbing against the fuselage were telling me that it wasn't a good idea to get out, but he who dares not wins, I pressed a button and one of the hatches opened.
Time to use the Thermopylae strategy, they had quantity, but in such a tiny space that would be irrelevant, when they started to invade I shot them with my weapons.
What surprised me was that they were even being killed, the light from the gunfire covered my face, and the smell of blood was starting to fill the place.
I fired for a few minutes, but I knew I could not kill them all, and then finally it happened , the bullets stopped, and so I took out a machete and plunged it into the skull of the first one that came close, then I took two pistols and shot three more in the eyes were approaching.
Before more of them could arrive the whole area below us shook, it was like the ground was moving, and to my shock it really was, when I found myself in front of the jet there was a huge face made of plants and trees.
"ËGÏKLÖ" Face said in something that sounded like language, but perhaps too ancient to make sense.
The sounds of claw footsteps were filling the jet, and I looked back to see ten what looked like miniature T-Rex, with claws and fangs dripping with what looked like venom.
I aimed my pistols, but when I thought they would make the first charge they suddenly fell to the ground.
"What the..." I was confused but then a little yellow glow came from my side, I looked over to Charles's seat and yellow energy was emanating from his head and it was colliding with green energy coming from the creature's mouth.
"Finally." I say put away my weapons.
POV : Charles
I was on a completely different plane, the psychic world was very different from the physical world, here time, space and even distance were subjective.
When two telepaths clash here the space becomes a mixture of the two telepaths' perceptions, I had already found something similar, but now I would be going against a living Island.I could understand the psychic waves now, when I finally reached your synapse center it was a huge collective of vines acting like veins or nerves, sending out synapses, I learned your story...or part of it.
This island was ancient , older than the dinosaurs having some of its fossils deep underground , and it used that organic mass to produce an army , but what most caught my attention was that it had awakened a more violent conscience after a traumatic event.
A US nuclear experiment in the area near her home, this caused a wave of fury on the Island... no Krakoa was her name, or anything she recognized as a name.
But as I walked for a while suddenly a vine attacked me, piercing my chest, soon more of them came and pierced me, I was just a representative image of my subconscious, but I could still feel the pain of the psychic attacks.Luckily I wasn't a beginner, I grabbed one of the telepathic vines and then sent my own energy to them, that's when our duel began.I managed a small victory and took away his connection to the monsters he controlled, but now we were in a stalemate, nothing less than an event could give me an advantage now, I couldn't keep this tug of war going forever.
POV : Superman
The numbing sensation was something new, that shot knocked me out for a while, I didn't feel hurt but it definitely did damage to my uniform.
But on the positive side, now I know that a nuclear bomb wouldn't kill me, because I'm sure that shot had more power than one, but something else brought me a beautiful surprise.
The sunlight directly on my body was very unnerving, it was like having the most delicious drink in the world and never having an end, but I knew that if I abused it, it could overload my cells, similar to what happened with other versions.
In any case, it was time to go back, my eyes were glowing red, it may sound childish, but I started playing the Superman theme in my head.
With a smile I flew back to Earth, without slowing down, soon I was a comet falling at breakneck speed, and my target was that damned island, my fist was pointed like the tip of a missile.
It was all in slow motion, and then there was a bang.
BOOOM!*
My punch in addition to crossing the entire island caused a huge explosion.
POV : Third
Nick Fury looked shocked by the sudden attack, but wasted no time, he started to fire up the jet and soon departed the sunken island in the ocean.
But something didn't leave his mind, he trusted Superman slightly, but the fact that a single man carried so much power and was not affiliated with any government, it worried him slightly.
At the military base, the weather returned to normal, with Charles neutralizing the Ororo monsters and Logan no longer needed to attack them, a few minutes later Calvin arrived flying with BlackBird coming right behind.
Ororo went to Charles who was all covered in dinosaur blood, Nick looked serious, but the most worn out was Calvin with his uniform almost completely destroyed.
Those involved after explaining their own views, the non-government members withdrew, leaving only the military and S.H.I.E.L.D. agents in the area to handle all the paperwork.
What nobody imagined was that an underwater ship was investigating the remains of Krakoa Island, a man in a military uniform and a type of red prosthesis where his left arm should be.
"How is the situation Doctor?" The man asked in an old voice with a strong German accent.
"The specimen is alive, but its mind has suffered a strong shock, ultimately it is as if it has been knocked out." A silhouette answered.
"I see, so prepare the resources, I want this Island ready for war, you will receive everything you need Doctor." The Man said as he turned around.
"Why exactly are we going to work with something so unstable?" The Doctor asks the man who was leaving.
"Even if she didn't come out victorious against the Kryptonian, she has enough firepower to distract him, the Hydra must have the most powerful resources to keep her at an advantage." The Man finally withdrew.
"Hail Hydra." The Doctor said silently but without much conviction, he turned towards the glass where Krakoa's face reformed slightly.
