Chapter 4: Things Get Weirder

It was a beautiful fall day, and light was shining through the windows as Harry, James,

Sirius, Ron, Remus, and Hermione walked through the halls of Hogwarts on their way to dinner.

As they neared the end of the third floor, they heard a giggle.

"Hey, I know that voice," James said. "It's Lily!"

Just then, Lily Evans emerged from around the corner holding hands with none other

than Draco Malfoy!

"Malfoy," Harry and Ron muttered under their breaths in unison. James, Sirius, and

Remus turned to them, then stared back at Lily and Draco.

"Hey everyone!" Lily exclaimed, coming up to meet them. "This is Draco!"

"Hey, Potter," Malfoy sneered. "Breaking the rules and getting into the Triwizard

Tournament is one thing, but cloning yourself is the worst idea of publicity I have ever

heard of!" He looked back and forth at Harry and James with a smirk on his face.

"Isn't he the funniest!" Lily squealed.

"Oh yeah, a real comedian," Ron snarled under his breath.

"So, Potter," Malfoy laughed. "I see you've added three more doofuses to your fan club."

"Shove off, Malfoy," Harry growled.

"Gladly!" Malfoy replied. "Come on, Lily. I have to introduce you to my friends." With

that, they walked off together, Lily with a big smile on her face.

"Is he related to Lucius Malfoy?" James asked as soon as the "couple" was out of sight.

"Yeah," Ron said with dislike in his voice. "That's Lucius's son."

"Do you guys remember Lucius?" James asked, turning to Sirius and Remus. "He was

in seventh year when we were in third."

"Oh yeah," Sirius replied. "He was evil. We always said he would become a Death

Eater."

"Is Draco a Slytherin as well?" Remus asked Harry.

"Yeah, the worst of them all. And you guys were right; Lucius Malfoy is a Death Eater."

"And Lily likes that guy's son?" James cried. "He must have jinxed her. She's not in her

right mind."

"I don't know, Prongs," Sirius said. "She didn't look jinxed to me, considering we've

jinxed about half the school at some time or another, so we pretty much know the effects."

James was about to reply, but Remus, who saw that there was going to be an

argument, broke in, "Let's just go to dinner. Maybe we'll see Lily there."

"Yeah, sure," James said, and slumped off towards the stairs. Harry, Sirius, Ron,

Remus, and Hermione followed after him.

When they walked into the Great Hall, several pairs of eyes turned to stare at them.

But James, who clearly didn't notice this, asked quickly, "Do you see her?"

"Who?" Sirius teased.

"Lily!" James yelled back. The others could tell that James was not taking the news of

Lily's new "boyfriend" very well.

"Hey, I'm just kidding, Prongs," Sirius laughed, placing a hand on James's shoulder.

"Hey, there she is," Ron said, pointing at Lily, who was running up to them with, to

James's dislike, a huge smile on her face.

"Oh, you guys," she sighed. "I just met the man of my dreams."

"What do you mean?" James asked with confusion on his face. "We've known each

other for over five years.

"Not you, Potter!" Lily replied harshly in James's face. "Draco Malfoy! Doesn't it have a

nice ring to it? And you know what has an even better ring?"

"What?" Sirius asked curiously.

"Lily Malfoy!" Lily replied happily with stars in her eyes. She really did look like one of

those anime characters.

"Oh God, Evans," James lashed out. "Just shut up!" And he stalked off towards the

Gryffindor table.

"What's his problem?" Lily asked, but with not a lot of concern in her voice.

"Oh, he's just had his heart broken, that's all," Remus replied with a small smile on his

face. "Are you eating with us, Lily?"

"Yes, I suppose," she replied. She and the others walked after James.

"Hey guys," James said sadly as Sirius sat down on one side of him and Remus sat on

the other.

"Hey Prongs," Sirius said cautiously. "Feel better?"

"Yeah, a little," James replied, poking at his dinner with his fork.

Harry sat down next to Sirius, and Ron sat next to Harry. Hermione and Lily,

meanwhile, had sat across from Remus and James.

"So, what do you guys think of Draco?" Lily asked excitedly.

"Can we please get off this subject?" James asked hotly.

"Sorry," Lily replied. There was a funny silence within the group for a few seconds,

then Sirius leaned over to Harry.

"So, your Prongs' son, right?" he asked.

"Yeah," Harry replied somewhat hesitantly.

"Well, who's your mom then?" Sirius asked excitedly.

"Ummm. . . ," Harry said, not sure if this was the right time to answer this question.

"Who?" Sirius asked again, this time sounding impatient. Even Remus had perked up,

interested in who the mysterious woman was.

"Actually, it's Lily," Harry replied with a small smile on his face.

"Wait," James said, his expression unreadable. "Say that again."

"Lily Evans is my mother, and your wife," Harry replied.

"YES!" James screamed, making heads all through the Great Hall turn towards them. "I

knew it! I knew this obsession would pay off!"

At this point both James and Sirius stood up and slapped hands.

"Did you hear that Lily?" James continued. "I don't care if you like that Malfoy kid,

because eventually you will realize that you love me and you will drop that blond git like a

wet sponge and come running to me! What do you think of that Lily? Lily-?" He looked across

the table and saw that Lily had fainted. Her face had gone straight into her plate of mashed

potatoes and chicken.

"What happened to her," Sirius asked.

"Oh, my love!" James exclaimed, acting as if he were in a play and running to her side.

"What has become of thee? Thou must be so happy that thou fainted. Oh please, my love,

awake from this dreadful sleep!"

"We better take her to the hospital wing," Hermione said, getting to her feet and

taking one of Lily's arms. "Madam Pomfrey will be able to fix her up."

Remus grasped Lily's other arm and helped Hermione drag Lily towards the hospital

wing, the other four following close behind. Hundreds of pairs of eyes followed them as they

left the Great Hall, including those that belonged to Albus Dumbledore.

Author's Note: Ok, chapter 4 is done! A little shorter than the previous one, but good all

the same, right? Sorry for the long wait; had to wait for school to be through to put it up on

fanfiction. Well, onto the "Thanks For Reviewing!" section.

Silvercrystal77: Wow, I never even thought about the war back in 1976. That's a good

thought! I was just having Sirius give James a reason for laughing so hard, but I really

like your idea of relating that comment to the war. Thanks for reviewing again!

The all mighty powerfulM: Well, now you know where Lily was! I hope you liked it, and

thanks for another good review!

girlknight: Hehe! Don't worry, I won't turn it into one of those fics. I don't like those either.

Thanks so much for reviewing!

can stop bothering me! LOL!

maikafuiniel: I'm glad you like the fic so much, but I don't really want it getting to other sites.

Thanx for asking me first though. If you really want other people to read it, I wouldn't

mind if you put a link on your site that goes to fanfiction.net. That would be fine.

Bailyy: Really? That's cool! Did you go with school, or just a vacation?

Tamsin: Thank you so much for adding it to your favorites!

I'd also like to thank my friends Erin, Bhavna, and Angeline for giving me some ideas on

where to go with this fic, especially Angeline's idea of having Lily faint! Thank you Eric, Bobby,

and Edward (a.k.a. GiGi!)!
