my first one shot...hope you like!
Love is blind…
Taking place after the events in KH2
Sora dangled his legs over the dock, feeling a touch of water on his shoes. Last time he'd been here, his shoes hadn't been anywhere near the water.
The sunset was beautiful as always…and he thought about how many days it had set…and he hadn't been here…
He looked up in surprise as Kairi plopped herself beside him. Her pink dress was riding low and she pulled it up with an embarrassed giggle. The kind of giggle that almost made him laugh out loud.
"So…any more thoughts on destiny?" she asked.
Sora shrugged.
"I've decided I DO believe in destiny…but that most of the time it's not fair."
Kairi's brow furrowed.
"how so?"
"Destiny took me away from you, kairi…it put Riku through all that pain…"
She put a hand on his arm, moving closer.
"Yes…but it brought you back again…Destiny always comes full circle."
"You think?" Sora asked, scratching his head.
Kairi smiled and nodded. "I do."
I do…
It made him think of another occasion where those words might be said. And as he looked at her closely, he saw it in the clever smile, and the secretive eyes. It had been done intentionally.
As he thought of a comeback to that…he edged a bit closer to the edge of the dock, feeling the worn wood splinters working into the fabric of his magic outfit.
"Well…well I…WHOAH!"
"Sora!"
He paddled uselessly in the water. What an idiot, he thought to himself. They had been so close…
"I'm okay! Yep…I'm good…" he called to Kairi on the dock.
She giggled again, and with the grace of a mermaid (and he should know) she jumped in beside him, laughing at the coldness of the water, spitting arcs of it into the sun, not even caring about her clothes. No doubt those zippers may rust…
"What'd you do that for? Easy now…" Sora steadied her with his arms, kicking furiously with his legs.
She was smiling at him…and it thinned…into a contemplative line.
"To do this…"
And she turned to him, taking his wet cheeks in her soft hands and kissing him…
He soon found his arms making their way around her waist, hugging her closer, loving the feel of her, soggy and perfect against him in the water.
Caressing him, making it more then a kiss…more then a promise…
Finally, she broke away, hugging him tightly, all the paddling making them quite breathless.
"Maybe we…should head back…back to the shore now…" Sora suggested, still quite winded, from paddling or kissing, he didn't know for sure.
And as they headed back, Kairi leaned against him…even in all the cold of the water, Sora had never felt warmer.
They reached the shore, and Kairi stood up, but Sora quickly followed, tugging the sides of her pink dress up. Kairi looked back at him and smiled. "Thanks…" she whispered.
"Sora…destiny is an unsure thing…ever changing…sometimes without notice. But I'm happy knowing that one bit of it will never change…"
"What part?" Sora asked, knocking water out of his ear. Kairi waited for him to finish.
"That we'll always have each other…"
Riku had seen the whole thing, glaring and squinting to see better in the head on sunset. The kiss had been obscured by the dock, but he surmised what occurred. He tried not to make eye contact when Sora and Kairi re-entered the hut for lemonade.
He didn't care…did he?
