Not in love

Once Stan started to calm down he and Kenny started making their way towards Stan's house to inform his parents about what just happened. While on the way there Stan looked at Kenny.

"…You're right, Kenny. Cartman will be fine because it's Eric fucking Cartman that we're talking about." Stan said.

Kenny smiled at him.

"Of course dude. He's the most stubborn guy I know so if anyone is going to make it it'll be him." Kenny said.

Stan smiled a little at that but he still had that look in his eyes that told Kenny that something was bothering him.

"What is it, Stan? You look like something is bothering you." Kenny said.

Stan sighed shaking his head.

"It's nothing, Kenny." Stan replied.

Kenny immediately stopped them from going anywhere as he just looked at Stan worriedly.

"Bull fucking shit it's nothing! Stan just tell me what's going on with you." Kenny pleaded.

Stan didn't know what to say as he just looked at Kenny realizing that they weren't going anywhere until Stan told him what he wanted to hear. He hesitated for a few seconds before finally responding.

"…It's just for the longest time I've kind of hated Cartman and wanted him to just leave us alone but now that this happened I can't help but feel guilty that maybe this was in a way partially my fault for wanting him to leave." Stan reluctantly admitted.

"Dude, Stan this isn't your fault." Kenny told him.

"Then why do I feel so damn bad, Kenny? If Cartman dies I can't take any of that back! I can't apologize or even try to be better friends with him!" Stan said as he felt himself start to get emotional again.

Kenny looked at Stan worriedly as the tears once again fell down Stan's face. Kenny immediately pulled Stan into a hug.

"Come on dude let's get back to your place so that your mom can drive us to the hospital." Kenny said.

Stan nodded before Kenny let him go. While they continued to make their way towards Stan's house Stan quickly wiped away the tears that were still falling down his face. The moment they made it to the front door Stan knocked on the door making his mom open the door and look at him in surprise and slightly angry.

"Stanley, what are you doing here you're supposed to be in school!" Sharon said.

"I know but mom there was an accident. Cartman was hit by a car and he's at the hospital now." Stan replied barely keeping his voice steady as he told his mom what just happened.

Sharon's eyes went wide in horror as Stan and Kenny went inside and she closed the door behind them.

"Oh my god I'll call Liane and then we can go." Sharon said before making her way to the phone.

Stan watched as his mom picked up the phone and dialed Cartman's mom's number. He didn't say anything as he heard his mom tell Liane, as soon as she picked up, what happened to her son. He winced when he heard Liane's panicked voice on the phone making him tense up. Stan didn't even feel when Kenny put his hand on his shoulder to try to calm him down as he tried his best to convince himself that Cartman was going to be fine.

'Don't overreact. Cartman is going to be just fine you'll see.' Stan thought to himself.

Stan didn't notice when his mom hung up the phone and asked if he was ready to go. Kenny had to shake him slightly to get his attention. Stan blinked before looking at Kenny.

"Yeah?" Stan asked.

"Your mom asked if you were ready to leave." Kenny replied looking at him worriedly.

Stan frowned slightly wondering how he missed that.

"…Yeah I'm ready to go." Stan said as he turned his attention to his mom.

Sharon looked at Stan worriedly for a second before going to grab her keys. As soon as she was ready they all made their way outside and headed towards Sharon's car. Stan got in the front passenger seat just as Kenny got in the back passenger seat behind him. Sharon got in the driver's seat, started the car and slowly started to pull out of the driveway. After she made sure that no cars were coming she completely pulled out of the driveway and started turning the car to make it face the road. Before driving off she looked at Stan trying to look as if everything was fine.

"I'm sure Eric is going to be fine, Stan." Sharon said.

Stan didn't say anything as he looked back at his mom.

'I have a bad feeling about this.' Stan thought to himself.
