Not in love

Just as his mom started to drive off Stan found himself looking out of the passenger window as he watched the houses that they passed by. During the car ride neither Stan or Kenny said anything as they both were too busy worrying about Cartman and wondering how he was doing right now. Sharon noticed immediately the tense feeling that was surrounding both boys as she just looked at them worriedly. After a few minutes of just looking out the window Stan found himself thinking about memories that he had with Cartman. The first memory that came up was when they got trapped in a cave and Stan, Kyle and Kenny thought that Cartman was dying. They had heard him throwing up and it wasn't until they left the cave that they realized that Cartman had just swallowed fake treasure. Stan winced at the feeling he felt when he thought that Cartman was going to die. He remembered saying 'Cartman, seriously you need to see a doctor' in a panicked filled voice. The fear that he had felt in that moment felt so real and so traumatizing that if it hadn't of been for Cartman farting out the treasure he was sure that he would have started crying. The next few memories that he thought about were the ones where it was just him and Cartman. Stan remembered one time when he and Cartman stole a boat and accidentally drove it into a dam breaking it. Stan was horrified by what they had done but still despite that Stan found himself feeling happy that he had shared that experience with Cartman. Another time that Stan had alone time with Cartman was when they were playing the tiger woods game. To Stan that was one of the few times that he could honestly say that he enjoyed his time with Cartman. The next memory that came up made Stan feel extremely guilty. He remembered when he invited Cartman and a small group of his other friends to go stay at a cabin in the woods. The plan was to break all of Cartman's electronics because they thought that he was the one who was harassing the girls. It turned out that it wasn't him so they ended up destroying his stuff for nothing. Stan was too afraid to face Cartman after that for awhile because he was scared that Cartman wanted revenge and also because Stan was afraid that Cartman might not want to be friends with him anymore. Somehow instead Cartman ended up with Heidi as his girlfriend and he wasn't angry at them at all. Stan had been completely shocked when he saw that Cartman and Heidi were dating as well as relieved when he heard that Cartman wasn't angry at him. It still felt awkward to approach him though for awhile. Stan's thoughts kept going through different memories before they eventually made it to the hospital. Stan barely heard his mom say that they were there pulling him out of his thoughts. Stan looked out the window and saw that his mom had already parked the car making him turn his head to look at her who was looking at him worriedly.
"…Are you ready, Stan?" Sharon asked.
Stan swallowed and nodded.
"Yeah I'm ready. Kenny, are you ready to go?" Stan asked.
Kenny hesitated for a few seconds before responding.
"…Yeah we can go." Kenny said before unbuckling his seatbelt and opening the door.
Sharon and Stan quickly did the same thing and got out of the car. As soon as they each closed the door to the car Sharon locked the car and they all started making their way towards the hospital. Stan had a nervous feeling in the pit of his stomach which only grew as they got closer to the hospital. At that point the only thing that Stan was thinking about was the look on Cartman's face just before he got hit by the car. He swallowed nervously as he tried to calm the feeling that he felt inside of him.
'Relax dude. Cartman has been in the hospital numerous times now and he's always been fine. He's even been run over before and still he managed to survive. There's nothing to worry about." Stan thought to himself.
Despite telling himself that there wasn't anything to worry about he still couldn't shake the feeling that it was bad this time. Stan closed his eyes for a second as he saw Cartman's lifeless body in his mind making him stop in his tracks. Kenny immediately noticed that Stan had stopped walking as he turned to look at him having just about to enter the hospital.
"…You okay, Stan?" Kenny asked.
Stan simply shook his head not saying anything. Having heard Kenny talk to Stan Sharon turned around to look at her son worriedly.
"Come on, Stanley we need to see how Eric is doing." Sharon said.
Stan started to shake slightly as he once again felt himself start to get emotional. He opened his eyes as his eyes started to become blurry from the tears that were starting to form.
"…I don't want to go inside mom." Stan softly said.
Sharon just looked at her son sadly.
"…It's going to be okay sweetie." Sharon told him.
Stan shook his head again as the tears started to fall down his face.
"It's not mom I don't think Cartman…"
Stan was cut off when he heard someone behind him.
"Oh my god, Sharon how is my son? Have you seen him?!"
Stan winced when he heard Cartman's mom behind him. Sharon shook her head as she looked at Liane sadly.
"I'm sorry but we haven't seen him. We just got here ourselves." Sharon told her.
Liane was in tears as she hurriedly went inside the hospital making Sharon, Stan and Kenny follow right behind her. They watched as Liane quickly made her way to the front desk and demanded for them to tell her where her son was at. Sharon, Stan and Kenny quickly found a place to sit down just as the entrance doors opened again and in came Kyle and his family. Kyle immediately saw where Stan and Kenny were at and immediately walked towards them and took a seat next to Kenny.
"Did you guys just get here?" Kyle asked as he looked at Kenny and Stan.
"Yeah dude we just got here." Kenny replied.
Kyle swallowed with a look of worry on his face.
"…So then you have no idea about what's going on with Cartman?" Kyle asked.
Kenny shook his head sadly.
"No idea, Kyle." Kenny said.
Stan was shaking as he kept clenching and unclenching his fists as he just looked at the floor praying to god that Cartman was going to be okay.
