Not wanting to be labeled like a freak, wanting her mum and daddy or even Phillips, she started to cry out loudly as she turned invisible, using her force fields to lift her up and out of the playpen to hide under the desk, shivering as she tucked herself in a ball, crying and whimpering.

Sanders snorted, "Hah, the freak is a coward! No wonder why it isn't fighting out there on the battleground, heck, maybe Carter and Rogers would rather dispose of it as it isn't strong or brave enough to destroy stuff like its parents!".

Khelps smirked, "Who would call it anyway? Rogers is Captain America while Carter is Captain Britain...", with a degrading laugh, unknowing that Phillips's shadow is slowly covering them from behind, with Phillips enraged, upset, and clearly not going to put up with all of this, as it's hurting his own ward, no, granddaughter. Hell, he'd be happy to take up the grandfather mantle.

"You want to repeat that again, you two?", Phillips finally spoke before the two of them suddenly went stiff and their blood chilled before they turned to see Phillips. "After all the things that Rogers and Carter have done for this army and you two turns around and say some of the cruelest things that I've ever heard about a fucking baby!?".

Khelps started to protest, "But sir-", before Phillips snarled, "No talking back, Khelps, and same for you, Sanders!", before hearing Susan's echoing cries, and took a deep breath, knowing how she hates loud noise, and spoke in a cold, steel, sharp voice, "That baby you talked about, she's about the most sweetest, incredible, and good-hearted darling girl I've ever come to know, and she is the apple in Carter and Rogers' eyes. And her name is Susan Viola Carter-Rogers, not it, or any of those cruel names you discriminated against her, and if I am playing grandfather to her, I am fucking proud of being her grandfather whether she wants me or not.".

Khelps and Sanders froze, speechless and chilled to the bone, never having heard the tone in their commander's voice before, and Phillips then growled lowly, "I'll personally hand in the reports to your unit chief, but you two, you are stripped of your officer ranks, degraded to the kitchens. I believe they have room for more than one as they are looking for people to clean up mess hall every night, and peel potatoes and such every morning, if they hadn't thought of anything else for the afternoons. And that will be your assignment from this moment on to the end of the war, and before you think of making people pity you, they already are regular favorites of my granddaughter for she has enjoyed their hard work.".

The two men said nothing more; they really couldn't for there really is nothing they could say to get out of their punishment. Both men just reluctantly saluted and marched out, leaving Phillips alone with Susan once more. "They're gone now.", he called out to her. "You don't have to hide anymore if you don't want to.".

Susan had seen and heard everything through a hole in the desk underneath, and realized that Phillips stood up for her, and sniffled as she didn't cry anymore, but tears are still falling. Having an eidetic memory is a disadvantage at times...Those mean men really hurt her...

Susan gave a hiccup, and Phillips heard it, walking quietly around the desk, originating it from under the desk, and he sat down on the chair, seeing nothing, but realized that Susan is invisible. He sighed heavily, "I'm really sorry, Susan.. I am really excellent in almost everything, but I suck in being a family man...I couldn't blame you if you don't want to see me anymore from now on...Your parents deserve to know what happened...After all, if I know Carter and Rogers, they would march down to mess hall, with probably Rogers hitting them down with Carter screaming bloody loud at them, spreading the news to all the command center...They would then know not to mess with the daughter of two captains, let alone two size-changing, powerful giants. A mother's fury and a father's rage are unparalleled, after all.", with an acknowledging chuckle.

Phillips continued to look at the area where he was sure Susan was hiding but didn't want to reach out and frighten her, especially since she was clearly wanting to stay invisible. "You can come out now if you wish, Susan. Those mean men are gone now, and they'll never bother you again, I promise.". He waited for a few moments, to the point it almost seemed to be a whole minute that passed before Susan finally reappeared again.

Phillips gave her a soft, warm smile, "There you are. It's okay.", and Susan gave a small gummy smile, crawling out from under the desk, to Phillips, using her force fields to hover up and gently sit on Phillips's lap as being an Amazonian baby at the time, she's only big as perhaps a 2-year-old toddler.

Phillips rubbed her back as he grabbed tissues, "Let me clean you up, brave one.", with a smile, gently wiping her tears, "Is that better?". Susan nodded, and babbled as she yawned, exhausted from all the fright, and leaned up to hug Phillips around the neck as she leaned on his shoulder, kissing his cheek with a bigger gummy smile before falling asleep.

Phillips was shocked to receive all this sudden affection for she had never done this before, having never came to sit on his lap, to be cleaned up without fuss, to lean into his touches, to kiss him for the first time sloppily yet happily, to fall asleep on his shoulder...Phillips then realized that he had earned her respect and much more, and he smiled softly, for he now would give his life for Susan as she has now permanently a place in his heart.

And so, since that moment, the granddaughter-grandfather relationship became solid as rock, with Peggy and Steve returning around lunchtime to discover Susan's laughter and Phillips's chuckles as they opened the door to see them in Phillips' office, surprised to see Phillips giving a horseback ride with Susan riding on his back, with a cape tied around her neck.

Peggy and Steve have never seen the colonel looking so happy, so soft-faced, so free, for there's no sign of his grumpy, strict exterior anywhere.

"Are we interrupting something?", Peggy chuckled as Phillips went red faced but didn't stop since obviously the little baby would get upset.

"I thought of giving her a horse ride... but we didn't have a horse...", he chuckled. "Besides, I was trying to help her feel better.".

Steve blinked in concern, "Did something happen?", as Susan then noticed them, and squealed happily with clapping hands, smiling gummily. She babbled, tapping Phillips's head with a finger, and Phillips slowly stopped, and Susan, with her tongue peeking out, creped down Phillips' side, and stood for the first time with her leaning on Phillips's side.

Peggy gasped, "Susan, you're standing!", and Susan babbled with a gummy smile before walking shakily, determined to be brave without using her powers as support. She isn't a coward like those mean men said.

She furrowed her eyebrows as she focused on walking, and only succeeding with five steps before falling back, but Phillips, having gotten up, caught her by the hands, "Got you, brave one. Come on, keep going.", with an encouraging smile.

Susan smiled up at Phillips and kept walking shakily as Peggy and Steve kneeled down, "Oh, that's it, Susan! You're doing it!", and within the last five steps, Susan squealed happily as she let go of Phillips's hands and walked one last step to her parents who hugged her immediately, lifting her up as they got up, with Peggy kissing her cheeks and nose and Steve ruffling her hair.

"I swear, she's more toddler than baby...", Steve shook his head as he nearly started to cry. "Are you crying, Steve?", Peggy asked as he looked at her.

"And you're not having tears of joy for our daughter?", Steve grinned. Peggy chuckled, "Oh, I have them, Steve, but I don't want to worry Susan into thinking that it's bad.", and Susan babbled, kissing her sloppily on the cheek, and smiled gummily before turning her attention to Phillips, pointing with a squeal with a gesture between him and Steve.

"Yes, I see them...What are you saying, sweetie?", Peggy asked curiously, and Susan pouted, wishing to say words, but she feels like that she isn't readily developed yet for it, and trying to remember what Peggy called Harrison, and used some of her force fields to write a short word.

"Grapa?", Peggy blinked, and Susan nodded, squealing happily with her finger to Phillips, and Peggy gasped softly, "You claimed Phillips as your other grandfather?", and Susan babbled, clapping her hands in victory, smiling gummily.

"I think Erskine might be a bit disappointed." Phillips chuckled. "It'll be fine...", Peggy smiled as she cradled Susan. "You're just so perfect, little one...". Now it was Peggy's turn to start having tears of joy.

Steve chuckled, "I think Erskine is fine with being godfather of our Susan.", rubbing Susan's cheek warmly before glancing at Phillips, "So, what happened for Susan to claim you as a grandpa of all things?".

Phillips sighed heavily, "At a half past 10, I had a meeting with officers, talking about last-minute reports of the plans for tomorrow according to Montgomery and all, while Susan was playing safely in her playpen... I was organizing the folders, and as I got closer, I heard them discriminating against Susan, a freaking baby! I would've understood better if it was an enemy or something, but when they called her terrible names, Susan naturally got upset, and went to hide under my desk...I punished them, stripped their ranks, and I defended Susan's name, which she had heard and seen everything, and finally decided to let me earn her respect and more...", with a scowl before glancing at Susan with soft eyes.

"I'm guessing you're not going to give us their names?", Peggy asked. "I'd rather keep that to myself at least, wouldn't do good for the troops' moral if you two did... something drastic to our own men, even if they really deserved it.", Phillips said.

Steve sighed heavily, "Well, as long as our Susan's safe and well, it's all that matters, right, my queen?". Peggy nodded resignedly, "As badly as I wish to pummel those men who dared hurt my daughter with words of discrimination, Susan is clearly feeling better, and she's never going to see them again, right, Colonel?".

Phillips smiled firmly, "Oh, believe me, they are degraded to nothing but potato peelers, and it will be a while to figure out things, so she won't see them again. I ain't going to bring trauma to my granddaughter when they are in sight. And as for pummeling, why don't you use all that anger on the Germans?".

Peggy smiled coyly, "That's about the best idea you ever gave, Phillips.", before sighing, "We better get back to the house. We will eat some lunch before I head out.".

Phillips nodded, "Alright. I'll see you tomorrow, eh, Susan?", and Susan babbled excitedly with a clap of her hands, and Steve laughed softly, "She usually looks forward to spend time with Erskine, and now I think you and the doc would have to split her attention between you two.".

"Oh, trust me, I and the doc will figure something. Now, git. I have papers to look over.", Phillips smiled, and dismissed them, and the family nodded, leaving Phillips in his office.

About an hour later, after Peggy was satisfied with lunch, and Susan was fed, Peggy was so ready to spread chaos to the Germans everywhere as she's still in full mother's fury mode, and Steve barely managed to pacify her, but only a tiny bit when he promised her a full night of multiple rounds of lovemaking, intending to play with Susan lots this afternoon and evening to tire her out to have a full night's sleep for the first time.

"I'll be sure to make us a big meal for dinner since we'll be jumping into Holland tomorrow morning. Those airborne troops are dropping in broad daylight and will need all the help.", Steve told Peggy as she played with Susan not too long after lunch.

"Make something nice for Susan too, will you? At least something she can eat.", Peggy smiled as she heard Susan burp from her lunch. "She's certainly a big eater...".

Steve nodded, "But of course, Peggy. I was thinking about roasted bananas & cinnamon baby food
puree, next to apples puree.", and Susan blinked in surprise, and clapped her hands happily. Peggy laughed, "You'll have to wait, my little miracle. I'll come back in time to see you try them out, okay?".

Susan pouted before babbling and nodding in understanding, and Peggy smiled, kissed her forehead, "Atta girl.", before getting up from the playmat that Susan's on, and walked to Steve, kissing him, "And for our meal, trout or something, along with veggies, and maybe a fruit salad.".

Steve smiled, kissing her back, "I can do that, and I will even make a dessert surprise too, if I have time. And speaking of time, I know you, Peggy. You will be making quick work of the Germans this afternoon, pummeling them down with all your fury. Just be careful while you do chaos, okay?".

Peggy nodded with a huff, "I'm all pent up of fury, if I can't pummel the two men who hurt our baby girl's feelings, I can pummel the Germans down.", and Steve nodded, "I won't stop you there. I'd hate to get on your bad side. But if you are still pent up afterwards, ", before whispering into her ear, "How about four rounds of lovemaking before cuddling up for sleep at midnight?", with a small smile.

"Certainly sounds like a good idea to me...", Peggy chuckled as Steve gave her a few kisses on the cheek before she playfully swatted him away. "Steve, not in front of Susan!", She laughed.

"She's a smart girl, she knows that her parents like to have some fun with each other. It makes her happy when we're happy. Besides, who knows when we might get that sort of chance again for the time being? If Monty's plan does work, we'll probably be finding ourselves on the front for a while again.", Steve said.

"They can't have us continually on the frontline, can they? Not with Susan and all, she still needs us to help take care of her at times.", Peggy gave a concerned look.

"I don't know yet. I've heard from Phillips that maybe it might be better for us to make our temporary home in Paris or even closer in Antwerp; at least so you don't have to fly long back and forth." Steve explained.

Peggy pursued her lips thoughtfully, "I'd feel better with Paris. But Antwerp is out of the question as the closer we are to the frontlines, Susan would notice more, and I don't want her to get in danger so close.".

Steve nodded, "That makes a certain lot of sense. The safer Susan is, the easier we can get back to her. Now, you better get going, my queen.", and Peggy smiled, "Yes, Captain. I'll see you for dinner, luv.", kissing his cheek a couple of times before heading out and flamed on to fly on over England, over the Channel, and all, glad that her top speed is really fast, as close to Mach speed when she tops it.

"Mama flies faster than those new Messerschmitt 262 jet fighters or our Gloster Meteors.", Steve chuckled as he tickled Susan's cheek, causing the baby to laugh. "Be safe, Peggy...", he said to himself as he waited for her return from the Channel ports where she was assisting in clearing them of German resistance.

The Allies were happy to see Peggy, but they realized that she was literally acting like a lioness this afternoon when she went hard and furious, making quick work on the Germans in every Channel port which is Dieppe, Ostend, Le Havre, Boulogne, Calais, and Dunkirk.

That afternoon, once she was finished, the Nazi lost over 40,000, with another 40,000 captured. The Germans who survived, and got captured in the process, they were terrified of Peggy from now then, with a few veterans recognizing a mother's fury in her eyes.

And the Channel ports were returned to the right hands, freed for Allied shipments once again which meant good news in changing the tide of the war even more on the side of the Allies. And if Steve and Peggy would do the same in Holland tomorrow, oh, boy, Germany will be dwindling to low numbers in a strategic perspective.

Peggy was calmed down once she was finished, getting quite a bit of the aggression out when she broke the port garrisons, before she flew her way back to England. It was past sundown by the time she arrived back and was already smelling dinner ready outside the home.

Peggy flamed down and smiled as she heard Steve making airplane sounds when she opened the door, seeing Steve sprinting through the kitchen and living room with his arms up above him, holding Susan in his hands, and Susan was squealing happily, her arms out.
