The feds were already at the bar when Division arrived. She planned to sneak right past them, but Ari was gone; he had spotted the agents and ran. Nikita immediately called Birkhoff and had him scan the surrounding areas. Ari couldn't have gotten far. As Nikita ran back to her car and opened the door, she realized how true that thought was. The former head of Gogol was hiding from the feds in a Division vehicle, and was asking to go to the bunker. No one hesitated to bring him in and cuff him in the interrogation room. He stayed compliant the entire time. He even smiled at Nikita when she was left alone with him, "I'm glad that we can finally talk."

"You said you wanted to be safe. From who?" Nikita got straight to the point. Ari had mentioned in the car on the way to the bunker that he had nowhere else to turn to, and he needed to run somewhere to be safe. Nikita continued to wonder why he didn't run to Amanda. Division had scanned Ari for weapons when he came in. He had nothing. He appeared as pathetic as he sounded during the phone call. Maybe he wasn't planning anything with Amanda. He was absolutely up to something, but it probably wasn't what the team feared.

"Amanda," Ari answered most of Nikita's questions with that one word. Amanda wasn't hiding him from the feds because she had also turned against him. Honestly, Nikita wasn't surprised by that fact. Of course Amanda would eventually abandon Ari. their relationship had always been built upon what they could provide for each other. The second Ari wasn't a use to Amanda, she dropped him. It was no surprise either that she tried to get rid of him just as the feds were after him. There was no real love between them. She had no reason to save him.

"Oh. Trouble in paradise?" Nikita couldn't help but scoff. Having her interrogate Ari probably wasn't the smartest idea. Yes, compared to the rest of the team, she had interacted with Ari the most; they had some sort of relationship. Also, her skills in getting the information she wanted most was top notch. However, she couldn't lend any sympathy to Ari; everything he said would be met with sarcasm and the inability to care. The situation he was trapped in was completely his fault. If he had never teamed up with Amanda, he could be living free and happy- whatever that might look like for him.

"We're not together anymore. She doesn't know I'm here," Ari tried to stay very matter of fact about the situation, yet Nikita could hear how dejected he felt about being abandoned. That was definitely not a part of his plan. Although Nikita wasn't surprised by what had happened, he was. She was starting to think that she had misjudged their relationship. She still didn't believe there was true love between them. Amanda definitely wasn't capable of that emotion. But there had to be some feelings if they had been willing to stay together for so long, especially when the world had turned against them.

"Let me guess: You became a wanted man, and she no longer wanted you," Reclining in the chair across from Ari, Nikita smirked. She was maybe having too much fun rubbing the shitty situation in his face. It was just hilarious to her that the once powerful head of Gogol was being hunted by multiple federal agencies and had been dumped by his 'girlfriend'. He had fallen so far, turning towards the enemies that had once tried to kill him for any semblance of help. Nikita would taunt him for that for as long as she could.

"That's fairly accurate," Sighing, Ari admitted. There was certainly more to the story, yet Nikita would fish for it later. It was possible that getting him as downcast and dejected as possible would force him to open up. If he thought he had nothing else to hold onto, nothing else to fight for, then there would be no point in holding back the truth. He could tell her everything she wanted to hear. Nikita might not have to break Ari physically to get him to talk, just emotionally. She was going to enjoy that.

While Ari shrank down in his chair, Nikita scoffed and folded her arms over her chest. Again, she could feel no sympathy for him. Yes, she had fallen under Amanda's spell when she was a naïve recruit looking for any kind of validation. But she had learned not to trust the bitch's words or kindness. She always had an ulterior motive that destroyed others and lifted herself higher. Someone as smart as Ari should've realized that long ago. Just because Amanda had helped him in the past didn't mean she was always going to help him. She had always planned to burn him, "Oh, boo hoo. You shouldn't have gotten in bed with her in the first place."

"Yes, well, that's the trouble with Amanda, isn't it? She makes her bed, and then one is forced to lie in it," Ari huffed. Although he was annoyed with Amanda and with the situation, he did seem genuinely upset about what was occurring. Nikita didn't have a sarcastic comment in reply. She simply sat and listened to his story, "A few days ago I returned from Europe to learn I was being sought by every major law enforcement agency on the planet. I was understandably agitated. And one might say I came home to find another man in my bed."

"Who?" Nikita didn't need the rest of his story. She sat up in her seat, ready to race out of the room and track down the new lead. If Amanda had replaced Ari with another asset, the team needed to know immediately. They had to search for every bit of intel on the new man. They needed to know who he was and why Amanda would want to work with him. It could have something to do with her various evil schemes that the team couldn't quite pin down. Hopefully, the new asset wasn't as smart and experienced as Ari. Division could track down the man and have him lead them to Amanda. Then whatever plans she had would end.

"We'll get to that. Just know this: Like Naomi, he is an asset that Amanda has taken and twisted to her own ends. She is arming and teaching him," Ari reminded Nikita that he had been in the KGB. He knew all the interrogation tactics she did, and then some. He'd give her just the right amount of information that'd make her feel satisfied, all while holding back the most vital piece. His story about barely surviving Amanda's attempt to kill him did have Nikita on the edge of her seat, yet she was still dying to know who Amanda was working with. Ari would continue to hold that over her head, however, "I barely made it out of there."

"And you ran straight for Division? That's pretty desperate, especially for you," Frustrated at having to wait for her intel, Nikita snarked. She was still trying to get under Ari's skin, make him feel awful about himself, but she doubted it was working as well as she had previously thought. He was going to tell her what she wanted to know eventually; it was just going to be on his terms. Although that was annoying, it was good to know that Ari would always be Ari. He could at least be predictable.

"Yes, well, you'll thank me for that once I tell you who she's working with. Amanda's gone too far this time," Ari responded gravely. Not only did he run to Division to keep him safe from Amanda, the FBI, the CIA, and Interpol, he also wanted to help them. Nikita thought that was weird. Ari had never done anything that wasn't self-serving. Sure, he had his soft spots. But he didn't care for the greater good like the team did. There must've been a lot more occurring than he was willing to share.

Nikita couldn't stop thinking about the way Ari phrased his reasoning. What did he mean by stating that Amanda had gone too far. Had she not gone too far previously. She had raged wars against people just to climb the ladder to success. How had everything she had done previously not been too far. Where did Ari draw that line, and what could the bitch be doing to cross it. Although Nikita desperately wanted to know, she held back that question. That would reveal itself in time, especially if the team knew who the new man in Amanda's life was, "Alright. Who is this mystery asset?"

"Terrorist. And the answer to that question depends entirely on whether or not you're willing to make a deal," Ari corrected sternly. Amanda didn't have a new asset, or even just new agents. She had a terrorist working for her. Nikita went still for a moment. Amanda and a terrorist together definitely wasn't good. The amount of destruction they could bring would destroy the world. No wonder Ari believed that the bitch had gone too far. She had only been raging her wars against Division, Oversight, Zetrov, and the rogues. Starting a world war was completely different. And it'd lead to far more innocents' death.

"Well, how did I know that was coming?" Shaking her head, Nikita only replied to Ari's stipulation for helping the team. It was the one thing she could wrap her head around. Even though he didn't like that Amanda was working with a terrorist, he still wouldn't help Division stop him unless he got something out of it. There was his predictive attitude that Nikita could rely on. She was going to need that while the world crumbled around her as Amanda teamed up with a terrorist. Hopefully, a deal could be struck before anything disastrous happened.

"No, Nikita, believe me. You have no idea what's coming," Normally, when Ari threatened her, Nikita just rolled her eyes and fired back with a snarky comment. In fact, the majority of their conversations had gone like that. But something about the way he warned her made her shut up. It was almost as though he was scared of what was about to happen. After all, he had claimed that Amanda had done too far, "I'll give you a hint. The first attack will seem like a random act of violence. Small. Isolated. The target will be innocent, average Americans. You'll know it when you hear about it. But you won't be able to stop it. Not without my help."

"And how much is that gonna cost?" Nikita had the feeling that Ari wanted some sort of amnesty. In exchange for intel on Amanda and the terrorist, he'd get to evade the agencies coming after him and retire peacefully on some island somewhere. Ari wouldn't have to pay for his crimes; all he had to do was relax. That was what Nikita would've asked for if she was in that position. If she had information that people desperately wanted, she'd demand a happily ever after for her, her husband, and her friends first.

Unfortunately, Ari wasn't going to make an easy deal with the team. Despite his hatred for what Amanda was doing with her new terrorist, he still wouldn't do anything simple or straightforward. Amnesty and retirement weren't his goals. He was aware of the life he had led, and he knew there was no true rest from that. The only happy deal he could make involved money and lots of it, "Fifty million, electronically transferred to the J.S.L. Partner bank of Switzerland, account number…"

"Fifty million dollars? Not Monopoly money? That's awesome," Nikita chuckled in disbelief. She wasn't surprised that Ari wanted to be paid for his service; he would never just do the right thing. However, the price he stated was outrageous. No one needed fifty million dollars. He could hide from the feds and retire from his life of crime for way less. Asking for fifty million was simply his way to get under Division's skin. He had all the power in that situation, and he knew it. He could ask for anything he wanted. But Nikita wouldn't give in. One way or another, she'd force him to share all he knew.

"Nikita. Got a sec?" While Nikita laughed at Ari, Michael poked his head into the interrogation room. The expression on his face instantly caused her smile to drop. Something horrible had happened; there was no doubt about it. Nikita left Ari in the interrogation room and quickly followed Michael to Ops. Various news reports filled the screens. They were all reporting on the same thing. A bomb had been tossed into a random elevator full of civilians. There were no survivors. It was just extreme violence on a small, isolated, innocent group of people. Nikita stared in horror. Ari was right. Amanda and her terrorist had just struck.
