Chapter One
The Hogwarts Express slowly crept into view as it pulled onto Platform nine and three quarters. A tall girl with a short pleated skirt with black tights and a white blouse with a brown blazer stood waiting on the platform next to her parents. When the train's horn sounded, and the compartment doors magically opened, the students slowly said their goodbyes and stepped onto the train.
"Well, I'll see you at Christmas." The girl said to the middle aged couple behind her.
"Have fun darling, we love you so much." The girls mother said as she hugged her daughter, the girl then turned to her father and smiling she hugged him and said her goodbyes to the pair. She then walked down the platform and stepped onto the train, waving at her parents behind her, once inside the train she felt the same eagerness for the year ahead as she had felt for the past seven years at Hogwarts School. She began to walk down the train corridor when a voice cried out from behind her; it was her Head of House and the Headmistress, Professor McGonagall.
"Miss Granger, oh Miss Granger." The woman called out striding towards Hermione
"Professor, how lovely to see you again." Hermione replied, smiling at the woman infront of her.
"Why Hermione, you hadn't forgotten that the Heads stay in the Heads compartment for the train ride to Hogwarts, now had you?
"Um…No, I was just looking for the compartment actually."
"Well, I'm going there right now, I have to instruct you and the Head Boy on your duties before you get to school. You best as well follow me then, it's just this way." The professor said as she quickly turned and without looking to see whether Hermione was following or not, started at a brisk pace to the front of the train, Hermione at times struggling to keep up.
When they reached the Heads compartment, the professor opened the door and gestured to Hermione to go inside. Stepping into the compartment, Hermione was taken aback by the sheer beauty of the room. It was decorated in rich colours of maroon and gold with the Hogwarts Crest above the fireplace, standing beside the fireplace was a dark mahogany trunk and a gold plated cage with an Eagle type owl. Hermione recognized the owl; she knew that the only person who was ever likely enough to become Head Boy was none other than…
"Ah, Mr Malfoy, how lovely for you to join us." Professor McGonagall said as she looked at the tall blonde haired boy, Hermione at the mention of his name turned and gasped at the sight of Malfoy. The summer had done well for him; he had matured and had turned in an amazingly gorgeous hunk.
"Hello Granger." Malfoy said as he smirked at the brown haired girl standing beside the professor.
"Malfoy." Hermione replied, glaring at the blonde, it was going to be an interesting year.
