Though it had been several months after the Kaiba Corp Duel Monsters World Championship had ended, Jaden had found that his title continued to follow him wherever he went, finding that amongst the many fans that supported him, there was always a Duelist or two who wanted to face him, to show their skills to the brunette or to try and win his title.
But through his skill, Jaden kept up his victories.
Outside of Dueling, Jaden had moved in with Alexis, moving into the apartment suite she had purchased in Domino City with money wired to her back from Duel Academy, finding that Chancellor Sheppard was still in charge and keeping the funding for their suite.
However, while Jaden knew Alexis was taking a break from her job as to spend time with him, overhearing a private talk between her and Chancellor Sheppard via video calls, Jaden found out that Alexis was even thinking of quitting to be with him, this selfless gesture left Jaden silent and up for a few nights, staring at the blonde and her obvious devotion to him, that she would relinquish her own dreams just to be with him.
With another night passing, Jaden sat in bed, clad only in a pair of green boxers with Winged Kuriboh patterns on them as he looked at Alexis, not only seeing her clad in a flowing and elegant blue nightgown, but the smile she gave as she slept left a little peace in his conflicted mind.
Jaden: (Thinking) I don't want Alexis to quit her job at Duel Academy because of me, it was her Dream. I don't know what to do.
Unsure of what path to take, Jaden found company, finding Yubel appear beside the bed.
Yubel: I know that this is hard for you, but remember that it was her decision. Alexis is doing what she thinks will make both of you happy. She is acting on her love, and its telling her that this is the right choice. I know when I was corrupt by the Light of Destruction and obsessed with us being one, but this is different. Alexis' love is so much more than what I desired
Looking upon Alexis herself, Yubel gave a small smile, adding her continued thoughts.
Yubel. Remember, Alexis is a smart and talented woman, I am sure Duel Academy will always have a position open for her if she does choose to quit. And try not to worry too much, Jaden. Just try to think with your heart and do what you think will make you both happy.
Smiling at Yubel, Jaden did feel a little better, thanking the Duel Monster spirit, though softly as not to wake Alexis, for after the pair had been living together for a few weeks, Alexis decided on one night that they would advance in their relationship, leading to a night of pure passion.
And while it was wonderful, something Jaden would never forget, he found that their exchange in love had given Alexis the ability to hear and see the Duel Monster Spirits herself.
Jaden: Thank you, Yubel. I was thinking I finished traveling, but I guess...
Unable to finish his sentence, Jaden was cut off when he Felt Alexis move closer to him, resting her head on his chest as she moaned lightly in her sleep.
Alexis: Jaden... love you...
Smiling gently at Alexis, Jaden set his arms around her, gently slid his head down and kissed Alexis' forehead, before moving closer to her ear as to whisper a reply.
Jaden: And I love you, Alexis.
.
.
.
Managing to get some sleep, Jaden awoke as the rays of the sun peeked through the bedroom window.
But feeling the familiar warmth of Alexis' body still resting on him, Jaden slowed his movements down as to avoid waking her up, finding that the sun on her skin made her look like an angel as she slept.
Getting out of bed, Jaden approached the dresser in the corner of the bedroom, opening it up and withdrawing a pair of gray pants, a black t-shirt and a fresh pair of boxers, the brunette changed out of his current attire and into the selected items.
After he was dressed, Jaden left the bedroom, not only to give Alexis more time to sleep in, but to surprise her and make her breakfast in bed.
Through his travels after leaving Duel Academy, Jaden had picked up on a whole variety of skills, including cooking, where the HERO Duelist grabbed what he believed needed from the fridge, headed to the stove and got into action.
But before he started to cook, Jaden heard a soft purring and felt something rubbing around his leg, bringing a smile to his face as he looked down to see Professor Banner's (old) cat, Pharaoh.
Jaden: And good morning to you, Pharaoh.
While Jaden had taken Pharaoh into his care after Banner's body crumbled and he remained in the world as a spirit, often eaten by the feline, Jaden smiled as he looked upon Pharaoh, not only glad that the cat now trusted Jaden as to not scratch his face if he got too close, but Jaden knew the main reason for the affection was Pharaoh desiring to chow down on what Jaden was planning to make.
Jaden: Hey, c'mon. You'll get your breakfast after I finish Alexis'.
Sulking away a little, Pharaoh curled up beside the kitchen table, sounding almost as if he was grumbling as Jaden focused back on the task at hand.
And after a few minutes, the kitchen was filled with the sweet aroma of Jaden's prepared meals, which consisted of a fresh stack of pancakes, with syrup and blueberries on the top, the brunette knowing Alexis favoured this on her breakfast.
However, carrying the tray back, before he could even leave the kitchen area, Pharaoh accidentally got in the way and tripped Jaden over, leaving the brunette with a deadpan expression as he lay on the floor, the pancakes now spread all around him, with Pharaoh licking Jaden's syrup covered cheek.
"Oh, man." Jaden groaned, not for the mess or having to remake Alexis' breakfast, but he saw the incident had knocked off Alexis' laptop off of the table.
"Let's just hope it didn't break." The HERO Duelist thought aloud, knowing the laptop was crucial to Alexis and her job, picked up the device and gave it a quick examine.
Looking alright, seeming to have suffered no damage, Jaden was about to set the laptop down and get back to the kitchen, but heard a small beep sound, followed by a familiar voice belonging to Chancellor Sheppard come from the device.
Chancellor Sheppard: Hello, Alexis? Is everything alright?
A little nervous that the incident had initiated an expected call between Alexis' laptop and a familiar figure from Jaden and Alexis' time at Duel Academy, the HERO Duelist was a little unsure on what to do next.
Jaden: (Thinking) What do I do? Should I answer or just leave it alone and wait for the battery to die?
Chancellor Sheppard: Alexis, I hate to sound strict, but we do have a schedule to keep. I'm sure you'll want to get back to that amazing boyfriend you keep talking about as soon as possible.
A little embarrassed by Alexis' continued praise of him, but now knowing that had he not turned off the alarm and allowed Alexis to sleep in, then she would be conversing with Chancellor Sheppard right now,
Jaden took a deep to calm himself as he set the laptop back on the table and opened it up, finding the screen switch from black and display the live feed of Chancellor Sheppard.
Jaden: H... hey there, Chancellor Sheppard. It's been a long time since Duel Academy.
Chancellor Sheppard: Jaden? Though it is good seeing you again, I must confess I was expecting Alexis.
Rubbing his head, Jaden did what he could to explain.
Jaden: That was my fault. I let Alexis sleep in, and accidently bumped her laptop.
Chancellor Sheppard: Well, no harm in looking out for your girlfriend I guess. And while I have your time, I guess we can catch up.
Glad to find Chancellor Sheppard still as understanding and kindhearted as he remembered, Jaden gave a supporting smile as he sat himself down and continued to speak with the Chancellor of Duel Academy.
Chancellor Sheppard: So I'd like to just say first off, congratulations on becoming the new King of Games. Your Duels put on quite a show to all of us back watching at Duel Academy.
Jaden: Thank you, Chancellor Sheppard. If wasn't for my friends cheering and supporting me, I wouldn't be the Duelist I am right now. And though being King of Games has its perks, I am more grateful to have such amazing people in my life.
Chancellor Sheppard: That's the Jaden I remember. I know your grades weren't the best, but I always knew there was something special about you. It was an honour to have you as a student at the Academy.
Though Jaden smiled, finding Chancellor Sheppard's words encouraging, a more serious expression then graced the Chancellor's face.
Chancellor Sheppard: I apologize for dropping this on you, I am unsure if Alexis has told you, but she is thinking of quitting her job so she can spend the rest of her time with you.
The reminder caused some guilt to fill Jaden, feeling almost as if he was stopping Alexis from her dreams.
Chancellor Sheppard: Don't get the wrong idea, Jaden. No matter what happens, Alexis will always be welcomed back at Duel Academy, in fact I even sent some videos of her teaching methods to some of the rivaling Academies and all seem interested in hiring her if she ever wants to return to teaching.
Though knowing Chancellor Sheppard was trying to help, Jaden gave a small sigh.
Jaden: I've heard Alexis say she's happy and wants to spend the rest of her time with me, but I don't want her to quit her job at duel academy.
Chancellor Sheppard: Jaden, listen to me, you two are still young and in love, so just enjoy your time together and let Alexis consider her options when she's older and wants to pass on her Dueling knowledge to another generation of Duelists. Enjoy the time you have right now and try not to worry too much about the future.
Taking in Chancellor Sheppard's words, Jaden nodded in reply, feeling fairly better than he had in the last few days.
Jaden: Thanks, Chancellor Sheppard. You really know how to give great advice.
Chancellor Sheppard: It was my pleasure, Jaden. And if you really want to repay Alexis for her love, find a way to show it.
Jaden started to think, trying to find a way to show Alexis just how much she meant to him, a gesture to say that he loved her with all his heart.
And after some thought, he came up with something, where he looked back at the laptop screen, wanting a second opinion before he did anything.
Jaden: Hey, Chancellor Sheppard, I was just wondering will Duel Academy be looking to hire a teacher to take 'Lex's place?
Chancellor Sheppard: We are looking for substitutes just in case Alexis does go through and turn in her resignation. But someone with Dueling knowledge and skills such as Alexis does come rarely. Why do you ask.
Jaden: I was thinking maybe I could get a job at Duel Academy.
From what Jaden had suggested, Chancellor Sheppard was taken a little by surprise.
But knowing that despite his grades in the past, Jaden could be a great teacher if he put his mind and his focus upon it, while also knowing he was doing what he could to make Alexis happy, bringing a further pride to the Chancellor.
Chancellor Sheppard: I must admit, that is a surprising move from you, Jaden, but I will support this choice. I suppose we could convert one of the old Obelisk Dorm rooms into a private study for you. Or we could expand Alexis' room, that way you two could see each other after classes are over. But why the sudden interest in knowledge?
Jaden: Let's just say I wasn't just traveling when i had time. I took that time to study, and you'll find I'm not like the old Jaden back then.
Jaden's reply caused Chancellor Sheppard to smile, seeing and hearing the maturity Jaden continued to express.
Chancellor Sheppard: Then welcome to the Duel Academy staff. Just give me a few days to print up the contracts, and you and Alexis can be back and teaching.
Jaden: Thank you, but if it's cool with you, can you keep this Secret? I want it to be a surprise for Alexis.
Chancellor Sheppard: Of course. This will just be between you and I.
Jaden found himself smiling at the surprise set up for Alexis, before finding the smile on his face grow as he heard a slight faint yawning, causing him to look over, seeing Alexis now awake and walking into the lounge room, stretching her body a little, still adjusting to the morning.
With Alexis now up and awake, Jaden closed the laptop, ending his conversation with Chancellor Sheppard, before approaching Alexis with a sweet and endearing smile.
Jaden: Morning 'Lex. Hope you slept well.
Alexis: I always sleep well when I know you'll be around when I wake up.
Smiling back at Jaden, a curious look then appeared on the blonde's face, with a question growing on her mind, worrying Jaden a little, thinking his surprise had been found out.
Alexis: But what happened here? (Tracing her left finger along Jaden's shirt, wiping up and licking the smudge, Alexis's curiosity grew) And why are you covered in syrup stains?
Though glad Alexis didn't suspect anything about Jaden and his call, the brunette gave a light laugh nervous laugh as he tried to explain.
Jaden: I wanted to surprise you with breakfast in bed, but I kind've accidentally tripped over Pharaoh.
Looking at Jaden, then to Pharah, seeing the feline nibbing at the last of a pancake upon the floor, Alexis couldn't hide her smile.
Alexis: That's very sweet of you, Jaden. But what do you say you grab a quick shower while I get myself something to eat?
Jaden: I could use one after what happened. I seriously need to wash the syrup out of my hair.
Wanting to kiss Alexis, but not wanting to stain her clothing in the process, Jaden instead set his fingers on his lips and placed them on Alexis', the action causing Alexis to smile at the cute way Jaden showed his affection.
Heading back to the bedroom, Jaden slid off his shirt as he approached the adjacent bathroom, ready to get out of the rest of his clothing and enjoy the warmth of the shower's water.
However, Jaden stopped when he heard Alexis call him.
Alexis: Jaden, I appreciate you for letting me sleep in, but I have a meeting on my laptop to get to. Let's just hope I didn't miss it.
Jaden: Ok. Sorry about that, 'Lex.
His mind then registering what Alexis had said, Jaden felt a sudden and growing worry fill him, knowing that though he had closed the laptop, he was unsure if he left the video chat function on, while knowing if Alexis saw it, it could bring up further questions from the blonde.
Rushing back into the lounge room, finding Alexis taking a seat on the couch, resting the laptop on her lap, Jaden's nervousness grew.
Jaden: Hold up, Alexis. I'm sure whatever you need to do online can wait. Maybe you'd like to shower with me, you know, save water?"
Smiling at Jaden, Alexis mistook Jaden's hastily nervousness for them to express their love once again.
"Call it what you want, Jaden, but I really need to check my laptop." Alexis replied, slowly sliding the device open, before looking back at the brunette. "Maybe after I'm done here, I'll take you up on your offer."
Feeling his gut sinking as Alexis opened her laptop, with the programs starting up, there was a fair confusion on the blonde's face.
"What's this?" She questioned, Jaden believing he had been found out, but felt himself able to breathe again when Alexis added. "I was expecting a video chat, but all I got was a letter."
Without Alexis noticing, Jaden started to calm down, before he walked around and took a spot behind the couch, looking over Alexis' shoulder and at the screen of her laptop.
Jaden: I guess that person you were supposed to video chat had a meeting to get to. But it looks like they sent you a message.
Noticing the letter icon upon the screen, Alexis clicked on it, opening up the most recent file, which Alexis read silently.
My sincerest apologies, but I cannot make our discussion today. Other appointments have conflicted with my schedule. Give me a few days to find a better suited time and we can talk.
-Chancellor Sheppard.
Staying behind the couch, Jaden set his arms around Alexis in a small and comforting embrace, making sure to keep up the charade/masquerade and not to move too close as to avoid getting any syrup stains on Alexis' nightgown.
Jaden: Oh, it's from Chancellor Sheppard. How's he been since Duel Academy 'lex?
Though he had a great talk with the Chancellor, Jaden had to keep up his acting to ensure Alexis didn't expect anything.
Alexis: He's doing pretty well. He says that the Academy and things haven't been the same since you graduated though. Of course we all can't have an exciting life without someone as sweet as you.
Facing Jaden, Alexis herself moved up, kissing Jaden, finding the familiar love and warmth from his kiss, while enjoying how passionate Jaden could be, feeling him immediately kiss her back with a matching love.
But as much as Jaden wanted to spend the day with Alexis, finding the time they shared to be wonderful, the HERO Duelist still had other things to do.
After having a quick shower and changing, now wearing a pair of jeans, a black top and a red jacket, Jaden took his Deck, which rested on a small table beside Alexis', set his Cards in the holder attached to the belt of his pants and headed out, making sure his Duel Disc was fastened to his arm, certain there would be a fan or two out in Domino City who would want to throw down against him.
Jaden: Hey, Alexis, you want to visit Yugi's grandfather's game shop? It's the location where Yugi and I first threw down.
Alexis: I'd love that. Just let me shower and get changed.
Heading back to the bedroom, Alexis grabbed at the straps that held her nightgown up, about to lower them, only to face Jaden with a mischievous grin.
Alexis: No peeking.
Knowing Alexis was just being playful, maybe even a bit feisty, Jaden made himself comfortable on the couch, turning on the TV as he waited for Alexis to wash up and slip into some fresh clothing.
Finding he didn't have to wait too long, Jaden turned off the television when he heard Alexis' voice.
Alexis: Well, how do I look?
Turning to his girlfriend, Jaden found himself silent as he took in Alexis and her attire, seeing the blonde now wearing a pink top with a line of blue hearts running along the chest, a white skirt covered her legs, while a pair of red stiletto heels adorned her feet.
And though Jaden knew Alexis wasn't too big on going too girly, he found he couldn't take his eyes off of Alexis' face, noticing the red lipstick and the light blue eyeshadow she had included.
She looked irritable.
After taking in her appearance, Jaden managed to speak, giving an encouraging smile to his thoughts.
Jaden: Wow. 'Lex, you look amazing.
Alexis: Thank you, Jaden. I just figured that the King of Games should have a beautiful Queen by his side.
With Alexis' reply and her wrapping herself around his side, Jaden rubbed the back of his head and gave a modest laugh.
Jaden: I'm still getting use to being call the King of Games. It still feels like it was only yesterday I entered Duel Academy to follow my dream.
Alexis: I know how you feel, but I'm glad things happened as they did, namely because I got to be with you.
Leaning in, Jaden and Alexis shared one final kiss, Alexis then withdrew her Deck and her Duel Disc, thinking like Jaden and believing there would be inspired female fans and admirers of her own that would want to Duel, before the duo headed out and into the streets of Domino City, knowing that despite being left alone, Pharaoh could take care of himself, having plenty of food and cat toys to keep him entertained.
And though Jaden and Alexis were still getting used to the changes in their lifestyles, they had no idea what was to come that day.
.
.
.
Heading through the streets of Domino City, with many civilians turning their attention to Jaden and Alexis, some being Duelists who were just starting off in the game, some being more advanced and others being fans of Jaden and Alexis, glad to see the couple together and in love, the sight of the King of Games and his beautiful girlfriend left many smiling.
However, the atmosphere between Jaden and Alexis changed when they noticed a pair of kids, a young boy with black hair that was mostly hidden under a cap and goggles and a girl with short orange hair and green eyes, who had downcast expressions as they were throwing away a handful of Cards.
Curious, Jaden and Alexis made their way over to the kids.
Jaden: Not that it's any of my business, but why are you throwing away perfectly good Cards?
Looking at Jaden, the boy, spoke for first.
These Cards aren't as great as you think.
Showing Jaden and Alexis one of the Cards he had yet to throw out, the HERO Duelist took the Card into his possession, finding some confusion to find it was Super Polymerization, one of the most rarest of Spell Cards.
But noticing the top right edge peeling away, Jaden carefully grabbed it, finding a sticky adhesive at the touch, before pulling down, finding that the Spell was merely a sticker and covering up Basic Insect, a Monster Card with very little Attack power.
And looking upon the other Cards filling the bin, Jaden and Alexis saw that amongst the low Level Monsters were a handful of Spells and Trap Cards, all sharing in the lacking power and seemingly very weak.
Reaching in, Alexis withdrew five Cards, peeling off the remains of the stickers, finding she was now holding Bite Shoes, Fake Trap, Hinotama Soul, Rainbow Flower and Remove Trap, all Cards that beginner Duelists could purchase from starter packs.
Alexis: They're fakes, every last one of them.
Confused by this, Jaden looked at the kids and had a few questions to ask of them.
Jaden: Where did you get these?
The boy in googles, seemingly the lead of the group, then answered for his friends.
There's some Duelist in the park. He promised if we gave him one of our rarest Cards, he'd trade us five rare Cards. It seemed too good to be true, but it was only after we got a better look at the Cards, we found out we had been tricked.
Sighing solemnly, the girl then added her own information.
We headed back and demanded our Cards back, but he said he'd only give them back if we could beat him in a Duel. However, with the Cards we have, none of us stood a chance against his Insect Monsters.
The mention of Insect Monsters lead Jaden and Alexis to a likely suspect, but wanting to make sure, Jaden kept up his questions.
Jaden: What did this person look like?
Thinking carefully, the girl replied.
We didn't get a good look at him because he was wearing a disguise, a cloak and a creepy spider mask, but his voice made my skin crawl.
Knowing one specific Duelist obsessed with bugs, to the point of dressing like one, Jaden felt his anger grow, now certain he knew he was going after.
But before doing anything else, Jaden slid the shoulderbag off his back, set it down and began rummaging through, withdrawing a map to Domino City, alongside a pen.
And after leaving a circle upon a specific part of the map, he handed it to Alexis.
Jaden: Here's the address to the game shop.
Nodding in reply, Alexis took the map, but stayed by Jaden's side, knowing the brunette had more to give, where he withdrew a wallet and handed it over to the blonde.
Jaden: And get some new Cards for these future Duelists.
Though Alexis already knew Jaden's selflessness, the kids looked at him with a growing respect, amazed that a stranger would not only help them with their problem, but he would also allow them the chance to improve their Decks.
And seeing how good he was with kids continued to bring a smile to Alexis' face.
Looking toward the kids, Jaden gave them an assuring smile.
Jaden: Don't worry. I'll get your Cards, and that's a promise.
Following the information that the kids had given him, Jaden started to walk off, making his way toward the park as to find and confront the scheming Duelist, finding that making his way deeper was the hooded figure that the kids had told him about, his back to Jaden as he looked upon all the rare Cards now in his possession.
Jaden: Hey, you!
Hearing Jaden's call, the figure stumbled and freaked out, hastily grabbing at the Cards before rising and turning to face the HERO Duelist, their face/identity concealed by the mentioned spider-like mask.
?: Well if it isn't Jaden Yuki. What brings you into my web of the woods, perhaps you could benefit from a few rare Cards for your Deck?
Jaden: Save the sales. I'm here to stop you and Get the Cards you stole back , Weevil.
His name revealed, the figure dropped the cloak and mask, revealing to be Weevil, who gave a annoyed expression.
Weevil: I am curious, how'd you know it was me?
Jaden: When I asked about you, the kids told me they faced an Insect Duelist, and no one as slimy as you comes to mind and there no one who owns a bug mask who love insect.
Weevil: Very smart, but I hold all the cards, quite literally, so one more step and you can say goodbye to them all.
Knowing Weevil wasn't bluffing, knowing all too well about Weevil throwing away Yugi's Exodia Cards, Jaden kept his distance, staring down the Insect Duelist, who kept a growing grin on his face.
Weevil: Perhaps we can come to a deal. If you can defeat me, I'll give back all the rare Cards I have gathered, but if I win, not only will you publicly announce your defeat, but you will give me your entire Deck.
Wanting to help the kids, but not wanting to risk everything, Jaden looked at his Duel Disc, looking at his Deck, wondering what to do.
But seeing the spirit of Winged Kuriboh then pop out from the Duel Disc, looking at the trust that the petit sized Monster held for him, with it cooing encouragingly, Jaden smiled and faced Weevil.
Jaden: You have a deal, but show me some of the Cards. I want to make sure you're not trying to trick me with anymore fake Cards.
Obliging to Jaden's conditions, Weevil displayed five Cards, revealing to be Mobius the Frost Monarch, Dark Ruler Ha Des, Mirror Force, Soul Exchange, and surprising to Jaden, a copy of Yubel.
Weevil: I practically have an entire Deck of rare Cards, but they'll be worthless after I win your Deck.
Setting the Cards in his jacket, Weevil activated the Duel Disc on his arm, the Cards shuffling within as he prepared himself against the new King of Games.
Jaden: Dream on. The closet you'll get to my Deck is having my Monsters take out your Life Points. (Activates Duel Disc) So Get your Game on!
Weevil/Jaden: Duel!
Their match now starting, both Duelists drew the top five Cards from their Deck, where Weevil gave a sinister smirk.
Weevil: You might be the new King of Games, but don't expect me to show any manners to his majesty. I'll start off this match. (Draws) And I'll start by playing a Monster in Defence mode and ending with one Card face-down.
Jaden: After all that big talk, I was expecting something well... bigger.
Weevil: (Thinking) Don't you worry, Jaden, my bugs will soon be swarming at you and your Life Points.
Jaden: Alright then, my go! (Draws) And I'll start off by activating the Spell: Pot of Greed. (Draws 2) Next up, I Summon Elemental HERO Bubbleman. (DEF: 1200)
Weevil: Thanks for Summoning that useless Monster, because you just set off my Trap: Worm Parasite. Not only does this Destroy your Monster, but you take his Attack Points as Damage.
Smirking as the worm-like creature emerged from his Trap Card, slithering and constricting around Bubbleman, to the point he shattered apart, Jaden groaned, not from the loss of his Life Points or losing the chance to draw extra Cards from his Deck, but he felt the empathetic pain of his Monster.
Jaden: Sorry, Bubbleman.
Weevil: Don't worry, you'll see Bubbleman eventually, only when he's part of my new Deck.
Jaden: Keep dreaming! I throw two cards face down and end my turn.
Current Scores:
Weevil: 8000
Jaden: 7200
Weevil: (Draws) Since you have no Monsters to protect you, it's the perfect time to Summon my Arsenal Bug. (ATK: 2000)
Weevil: Normally, Arsenal Bug would lose 1000 Attack Points if he was the only insect on the Field, but luckily I left him a friend.
Revealing his face-down Monster, revealing it to be Pinch Hopper, the Attack reduction had no effect upon Weevil's stronger of Insects.
Weevil: Now prepare yourself for my bugs as they feast on your Life Points. Attack!
Doing as per Weevil's command, Pinch Hopper, being the more mantis-like insect it was, leapt at Jaden, while Arsenal Bug flew at Jaden, its blade drawn and ready to slice at his Life Points.
Jaden: i activate my face-down: Mirror Force, so say goodbye to your bugs.
Striking the barrier now protecting Jaden, Pinch Hopper and Arsenal Bug gave agonized hissing sounds as both shattered apart, the sight seemingly shocking Weevil.
Weevil: you just Destroyed my bugs... (Grins wickedly) Thank you for that. Since you were foolish enough to Destroy my Pinch Hopper, I can Summon any Insect from my hand, and this Monster will put my other bugs to shame.
Jaden: Let me guess, you're Summoning your Insect Queen?
Weevil: So close, but this Monster has evolved even past her. I Summon Metamorphosed Insect Queen! (ATK: 2800)
Jaden was shocked at seeing the new variety of Insect Queen, seeing this one was different when compared to the one he knew Joey had faced, finding this alteration to the Insect Queen seemed bigger and more viscous.
Weevil: And now to feel the wrath of her majesty. Metamorphosed Insect Queen, Attack!
Holding nothing back, Metamorphosed Insect Queen gave a almost deafening screech, before releasing a great stream of dark green flame from her mouth, the sight of the flames causing Jaden to give a nervous expression.
Jaden: This is going to hurt.
Consumed by the flames of the Metamorphosed Insect Queen, Jaden groaned, feeling the Attack having a devastating effect on him, alongside his Life Points, which dropped to 4400.
Weevil: I'll end with two Cards face-down. My turn might be over, but my improved Queen now leaves behind a reward.
A little confused to Weevil's words, Jaden watched with some disgust as the Metamorphosed Insect Queen's abdomen expelled an egg, leaving a mess of purple sludge around her and her unhatched creation.
Current Scores:
Weevil: 8000
Jaden: 4400
Weevil: You've lost nearly half your Life Points, and I can see you just squirming in my web, why not make it easy on yourself and give up now? If you do, I'll only take half your Deck as my prize.
Jaden: Sorry, Weevil, but I'm not giving up anytime soon. (Draws) i activate face down heavy storm!
With Jaden's Spell taking effect, Weevil groaned against the winds, watching as his face-downs, Liar Wire and Infestation were revealed, before shattering apart.
Weevil: You'll pay for that!
Jaden: Before we get to the trash talking, I play Polymerization, so now I fuse Elemental HEROs Clayman, Sparkman and Avian to summon Elemental HERO Core (ATK: 2700)
The three HERO Monsters combining their powers, the HERO that helped Jaden win against Kaiba made his appearance, awaiting Jaden's command and to assist his Summoner as how he desired.
Jaden: I'll throw one Card face-down and end my turn.
Weevil: (Draws) It's time to pay you back for Destroying my cards, and what better way than to use your own Monster to Destroy you?
Confused to Weevil's words, Jaden was confused further, watching as the egg Metamorphosed Insect Queen had hatched last round was switched to Attack mode. (ATK: 100)
Weevil: I play the Spell: Creature Swap. Now we each select a Monster we own and hand it over to the other player, so take my Metamorphosed Insect Queen's egg, while I help myself to your HERO Core.
Jaden:i activate my face solemn judgement on your spell by giving half of my life points
Lowering his Life Points to 2200, Creature Swap shattered apart, keeping HERO Core by Jaden's side, irking Weevil.
Weevil: You might've stopped my Spell, but nothing can stop my Queen. Destroy Elemental HERO Core!
Obeying her Summoner, Metamorphosed Insect Queen cast out a secondary stream of intense green flames at Elemental HERO Core, the sight causing Jaden to grin.
Jaden: that won't happen i activate core ability when he targeted for a attack he attack points get a bonus equal to his original attack points. (ATK: 2700 → 5400)
With Jaden's Monster supporting over 5000 Attack Points, not only did HERO Core repel the flames released by Metamorphosed Insect Queen, but he was able to retaliate, gathering his energies through the red lines of his body and releasing it as a series of thin beams, cutting through and Destroying Metamorphosed Insect Queen, dealing 2600 Points of Damage in the process.
Weevil: No! My beautiful Queen! What have you done!?
Jaden: Every HERO defeats evil in all its forms, even your oversized bug.
Weevil: You might've Destroyed her, but my Deck still crawls with powerful Insects, each more fearsome than the next, so I'll place this Monster face-down and end my turn.
Current Scores:
Weevil: 5400
Jaden: 2200
Jaden: (Draws) I activate Card of Sanctity, so now we draw until we both draw six new Cards.
Finding a familiar situation with his Spell, Jaden drew his six Cards, watching as Weevil did the same, Weevil grinning at the Cards now in his hand, while Jaden smiled at the Cards he held, knowing his Deck had provided for him and assisted him once again.
Jaden: Next up, I play Miracle Fusion. I fuse Elemental HERO Neos with the Rainbow Dragon in my hand to summon Rainbow Neos! (ATK: 4500)
The Spell taking effect, Weevil found he had to shield his eyes as an intense light filled Jaden's side of the Field, his Monsters combining to form the radiant figure, who floated by his Summoner's side, awaiting Jaden's next move and commands.
Jaden: I Summon Card Trooper, but he won't stay too long because I activate Rainbow Neos' superpower. By sending Card Trooper to the Graveyard, all your Monsters go back to your Deck.
Stunned by Rainbow Neos' power, Weevil could only watch as his Monsters were removed from the Field, with the Token forcefully sent to the Graveyard, having no place in Weevil's Deck, while his face-down, Gokipole, was placed back within the Deck and shuffled, mixed with the others of Weevil's Insects, Spells and Trap Cards.
Though his Field was empty and believing he could beat Weevil, knowing of his scheming ways, Jaden took a moment to converse with an old friend.
Jaden: Let's go, Rainbow Neos. Share your power with core, and core, use that power to wipe out Weevil's remaining Life Points!
Working as (one/a team), Rainbow Neos shone with a renewed aura of light, the power from which increased the energies residing within Elemental HERO Core, who then released the pent up energy from his chest, shoulderplates, hands and legs, casting out several streams of pure light, blasting Weevil with such force that it threw him to the ground, where he lay defeated.
Ending Scores:
Weevil: 0
Jaden: 2200
With the Duel over, Jaden approached Weevil, finding the Insect Duelist sit up and looking at the HERO Duelist with nothing but shock.
Weevil: I can't lose! I'm Weevil Underwood! This isn't fair!
Jaden: Sorry, but a deals a deal, so hand over the Cards you took from those kids.
Keeping a calmness to him, Weevil reached behind himself, before drawing out what looked like a fake spider attached to the top of a toy blaster, grinning as he held his handcrafted weapon at Jaden.
Weevil: The only one sorry around here will be you, so enjoy your consolation prize!
Pulling the trigger and expecting a thick strand of web-like ooze to pour out the pretend spider's mouth and trap Jaden within, Weevil then cried out as the back of his weapon broke open, having suffered a moderate amount of damage from his previous fall, leaving the stored ooze to splatter out the abdomen and all over him, trapping the Insect Duelist in place.
And while he hadn't planned it this way, seeing Weevil wasn't moving anywhere soon, and noticing the Deck box containing the rare Cards, Jaden took it into his possession, before leaving as to meet up with Alexis, leaving Weevil thrashing against the webbing now binding and restraining him.
Weevil: Get back here with my Cards! I earned them fair and square!
Ignoring Weevil's yelling, Jaden returned to his planned day, heading on to the Turtle Gaming shop, where the HERO Duelist smiled, not only seeing Alexis, but before her, the two kids were in the middle of a Duel, with the boy with having Gaia the Dragon Champion his side of the Field, while the orange haired girl had two familiar Monsters defending her, Cyber Tutu and Elemental HERO Sparkman.
But noticing Jaden return and smiling, this caused the kids to deactivate their Duel Discs and approach the HERO Duelist, their faces lighting up as Jaden handed the box of Cards to the pair, who searched through the Cards, taking the ones they knew belonged to them, making sure those that were stolen from other Duelists would find their rightful owner.
Jaden: here you i got your cards. Back i always keep my promise.
Taking back the final Card that belonged o her, being the copy of Yubel, the orange haired girl smiled as she looked at Jaden.
Thank you so much. Your kindness is also a reason why you're my hero and why I hope to grow up to be as good a Duelist as you and Alexis.
Jaden: I'm just glad I could be an inspiration. Remember to follow your dreams and never give up. It's like an old friend told me 'Always believe in the heart of the Cards.'.
Nodding in reply, the kids continued to look upon Jaden with respect, feelings Alexis shared, her pride and love for her boyfriend continuing to grow.
Jaden: Since you got some new Cards to go with your Decks, what do you say to a little match? We can make it the girls take on the boys?
While excited to have a chance to Duel with and against the King of Games and his girlfriend there was a polite interruption.
?: That does sound like fun, but we've got a rematch to settle.
The voice drawing them, Jaden, Alexis and the kids all saw Yugi Muto approaching, a confident smile on his face and his Duel Disc already fastened around his arm and activated as he approached the group, the sight of the retired King of games bringing a similar smile to Jaden and Alexis' faces, while the kids were left with a continued amazement, to see another of Duel Monster's most famous Duelists.
Jaden: It's good to see you again, Yugi. We haven't much time to talk since Kaiba's tournament.
Though sharing Jaden's sentiment, Yugi kept his more confident smile, drawing up his Duel Disc.
Yugi: We can catch up later, but for now it's time to Duel!
