Author's Note: So we're back to the Italian Brothers. I couldn't decide between writing about them and Hungary this week. So someone on Discord said that I should do all three. Add that with a miniseries of pictures from r/Creepyart and here we are. You know something? I am enjoying writing soulless!Italy. I want to see where his storyline goes next. This was a fun match to write. I have no idea where this story is going next week. For now, enjoy this week's match.
Match Thirteen: Diana:
"I have something I want to show you," Feliciano said. Lovino stared at him at first.
"What?" he asked. His brother sat across from him at the table.
"I really want to share this with you," he said. "You are going to love it." Lovino raised his eyebrow. Where was Feliciano going with this rabbit hole?
"And why would I love it?" the older brother asked. Feliciano had no emotion on his face. His eyes looked frozen. Lovino felt his back break into a sweat.
"I can't explain it, really," the younger brother said. "You really have to see it." He said that as so matter of fact. Lovino wanted to say no.
"What if I say no?" he asked. Feliciano shrugged.
"That's up to you," he said. "I'm not going to force you to." The Southern Italian frowned. The expression on his brother's face didn't change. Lovino clicked his tongue.
"Fine," he said.
"Come with me," Feliciano said. He got up from the table and walked out of the kitchen. Lovino waited a few seconds to follow behind.
Feliciano led him down to the basement. Lovino looked to either side of him in the darkness.
"This better not be some creepy prank," he warned his brother. Feliciano didn't answer or turn around. Lovino puffed up his cheeks.
"Feliciano," he said. No answer. They walked further down the stairs. Feliciano led his brother over to the wall. He knocked along the wall.
"What are you doing?" Lovino asked. His brother listened along the wall. He slowed down his knocking. Finally, Feliciano stopped in his tracks. He knocked on the wall. The hollow sound echoed through the room. Lovino made a confused face.
"Ah," Feliciano said. He pressed down on the wall. It started to give under his touch. Lovino's jaw just dropped.
"What the hell?! Where did this come from?" he asked. His brother didn't answer as he went inside.
"Hey, wait up!" Lovino shouted as he ran after his brother. The Italian men walked around in the dark.
"Why is it so dark in here?" the Southern Italian man asked. Again, Feliciano didn't answer. Lovino puffed up his cheeks.
"Answer me, you stupid bastard!" he shouted. Feliciano stopped in his tracks. Lovino felt his stomach turn.
"Feliciano?" he asked. The younger brother didn't answer. Instead, he pointed up to the ceiling. Lovino tried to look up in the darkness. A low rumbling filled the air.
"What… is that?" he asked. The Southern Italian man turned around. A bright light filled the room. A cold smile spread across Feliciano's face. His brother's eyes opened wide. There she was. She floated before him with no emotion on her face. Lovino's heart pounded against his chest.
"What… What… What is that?" he asked. Feliciano walked up next to him.
"Isn't she beautiful?" he asked. He put his arm around Lovino's shoulders.
"I named her Diana," he said. "Go ahead. Ask her anything." His brother looked at him with a worried look on his face.
"Feliciano," he said. "Do you know what you have?"
"Yes," the younger brother said. "And she is a glorious gift." He nudged Lovino forward.
"Go on," he said. "Talk to her." His brother looked at him with discomfort on his face. What was he trying to pull? Feliciano just stared at him. Almost like he was waiting for something to happen. Lovino dropped his shoulders. Like he had a choice. He walked up to the floating creature. Her red hair floated everywhere. Her empty green eyes stared into the Southern Italian man's soul. Lovino began to tremble.
"What are you?" he asked. She didn't speak. Still, the man moved closer. It was like something in his body kept pushing him forward. Lovino reached out to the Witch of Inferno. She didn't move as she kept her eyes on him. Something about her was all wrong. Diana wasn't supposed to exist in this world. By her being here, she has violated some unspoken rules. By her being here, she destroyed the nature of this living world. Diana wasn't allowed to be in this living world.
Lovino froze in his tracks and shook his head.
"No," he said. But she was already in front of him. Her fingertips caressed his cheek. The world vanished into ringing darkness.
Lovino felt like he was floating in a dark sky filled with clouds. He didn't have his body. Despite this, he could still see and feel things. His eyes scanned the empty darkness. No matter how hard he looked, there was nothing in sight. He couldn't feel anything at all either. Lovino felt his heart pounding against his chest.
What… What is this?
A low groan filled the sky. If Lovino could turn his head, he would've. He looked up above him. A giant eye opened in the dark sky. The soft grey started looking around. Lovino tried in vain to dodge. That damned eye could see everything.
"No! Go away!" Lovino tried to scream. His voice got sucked up by the void. The Southern Italian man found that he couldn't breathe. Suddenly, the dark clouds broke around him. The loud caw caused him to whip around. Ravens and crows were flying desperately away from the giant eye in the sky. However, these birds began to take on odd shapes with their bodies. Their heads began to warp into more human-like shapes. Each bird had three eyes above their beaks. Some of them looked like humans screaming in agony. One of the humanoid birds shielded its face from the ever-present eye. Suddenly, that eye turned to Lovino. The Italian man froze.
Stay away from me! Stay away! Stay away!
Suddenly, a faint voice whispered to him. You can leave, it told him. You just have to say the words. As if on cue, Lovino knew what he had to say.
"I want out!"
Suddenly, Lovino felt himself being yanked from the sky.
He came back into reality with his body. Lovino fell to his knees before Diana. She stared down with an empty look in her eyes. Feliciano put his hands on his brother's shoulders.
"You saw it too, didn't you?" he whispered. Lovino looked up at his younger brother with a new sense of fear.
Sometime later, Lovino pounded on Elizabeta and Roderich's door.
"Open up! I need to talk to you!" he shouted. The Southern Italian man pounded on the door. He backed up when it opened. Elizabeta stared at him looking confused. She saw the haunted look on his face.
"Lovino? What's the matter? Are you… okay?" she asked. The Southern Italian man trembled. His voice barely came above a hoarse whisper.
"My brother has lost his mind," he said. "He has a witch in our house." The Hungarian woman blinked at first.
"What?" she asked. Lovino nearly fell over.
"Whoa! Take it easy!" Elizabeta said. The Southern Italian man looked up at her. The look in his eyes looked so haunted. He managed to whisper one more thing before she dragged him into the house.
"I have seen what hell looks like… and she's going to kill us all," he said in a loud whisper. Lovino suddenly passed out in Elizabeta's arms. He could barely hear her shouting his name.
