Back at the Safehouse, the future version of Astra was currently stirring as she could feel the timeline changing. But the changes weren't enough that the timeline she came from was erased from existence yet.
Only time can tell if they can save their world.
"I'm going out there," Frankie said when she saw what they were going up against. "Give them a hand with these drones and our parents."
"I'm coming with you," Miles said, wanting to help them and keep Frankie safe. "No way I'm letting you out there on your own.
"I'll go and find some help," Ray said as he quickly raced to get the ATOM Suit on.
Back in the city, the mind-controlled Justice League stood at the end of the road. All of them had the same look around their eyes. Purple veins around complete blackness and a small red dot on their iris'. They were all looking toward the Young Justice, they just stood there and waited for them to make the first move.
The Young Justice and Syndicate stared on the other end of the road, just watching as some of their mentors or parents stared back at them.
This was it.
Brainiac's last true line of defense.
If they get through the Justice League, Brainiac won't have anything left with which they can't deal. But these are some of the world's heaviest hitters. The people who not only trained them but also raised them since the beginning. The people who taught them everything that they knew.
Were they ready to deal with this?
"Guys...what's the plan?" Mia asked them, drawing an arrow from her quiver. "Because...I'm not entirely sure what we're gonna do."
All of them were coming up blank. Their confidence had diminished when they saw who they were going to be fighting. But Tommy seemed to have found his voice as he stood and stepped forward of his friends and family.
"Syndicate. Keep those bots busy." Tommy tells the Syndicate members.
They all looked at one another before scattering off as they all began to resume their fight with the robots.
"What do we do?" Roberta asks their self-appointed leader.
Tommy looked over to his twin sister, looking for her approval of his plan. She looked at her brother and had a look of fear on her face. Robots, they were able to manage that in their sleep. But this was the people that had trained them. The people who had raised them.
The same people who have spent years along them and learned their every strength and weakness. Not to mention already had years of experience with the team and their skills. Whatever they have learned, their parents and mentors have already learned and surpassed.
And this group of teens was the only thing that stood in their way.
Tina looked over to her brother and nodded back as if she and he just had a mental conversation with one another. Tommy saw she knew what he was planning and looked over to the Justice League with a goal in mind.
"We fight." Tommy proclaimed as he and Tina were the first two to start walking toward them.
"Well, this is gonna be fun," Anjelica said with a sigh as she fixed her goggles, starting to follow the two of them.
Then, almost robotically (which is ironic considering who's on their side), the entire Justice League start to make their way toward the younger group.
"They're not stopping," Ollie commented.
"Neither are we." Dawn proclaimed.
As they were walking, M'gann was floating behind them with her eyes glowing, showing she was using her abilities for some purpose. It became clear to them when they all started to hear one another's thoughts.
"This isn't going end well."
"We're so gonna die."
"Wait, who said that?"
"Guys, I'm setting up a mental link between all of us so we can talk without the others hearing us," M'gann explains to the group mentally.
"Wait, so all of us can hear each other's thoughts?" Terry asks in worry.
"You can control what you want to say, but until you get the hang of it, I'd be clear of your thoughts," M'gann warns them.
"I'll keep that in mind," Roberta commented in her head.
"How far can this go?" Tommy wonders.
"As far as you wish," M'gann promises.
"Alright, enough chit-chat, let's kick some ass," Armando stated as they were about to collide with their parents.
The moment the two groups collided, it turned into complete chaos in seconds. All of their powers were unleashed in seconds.
Karen went in and punched Superman, the two of them flying into the air and trying to get the upper hand on one another. Superman flew up and uses his heat vision on Karen and sent her flying through two skyscrapers. As she was trying to get a hold of the laser, Roberta flew in and used her wings to reach her and block the beam with her shield.
That in turn caused the beam to revert to its origin, in this case, Superman. When he was hit, he was sent flying and crashing into the front.
"You okay?" Roberta asks Karen.
"I'm good." Karen sighed as she held her stomach. "Mostly."
But before they could continue to search for Superman, he came flying back and slammed into Roberta and sending her crashing. Before Karen could even react Superman was grabbed by the neck as he came flying through and slammed Karen through several more skyscrapers.
While that was going down, Anjelica was going against her mother as they were duking it out in the air. With the powers of the two of them off balance, Anjelica used Mecha-Vibe to help her out by opening portals around her to help her with escaping.
"Mom, come on!" Anjelica tried to break through to her loving mother. "You have to break through this!"
Kara however wasn't hearing any of it as she then used her heat vision to try and kill Anjelica. But just as it was about to hit her, a breach opened up and the lasers opened up and hit Kara in the back. Anjelica then flew in as the breach closed and slammed into her mother. As they were flying, they ended up crashing into another building office which was filled with people.
The two fought as hard as they could, both using their unique skills and strengths against one another. Kara however had more experience and was faster so she managed to throw several punches at Anjelica, breaking her goggles in the process of the battle. Anjelica then got an idea as she then spun around to use her webbing. Shooting two strands nearby at the office equipment she could get her hands on and spun around to return to face her mother.
Kara wasn't paying attention to her surroundings, which ended up helping Anjelica as she was able to use her mind control to her advantage. Smacking two desks onto Kara, she thought it was someone else who came to attack and spun to shoot her lasers. That's when Anjelica took advantage and grabbed Kara's cape, wrapping it around her head and webbing it there. Since it was immune to their laser vision, it would mean that she couldn't just burn her way through and Anjelica took off into the skies.
And on the rest of the roster, Sub-Zero was currently getting his backside handed to him by his own mother. Frost was faster with her ice blast and was more powerful when she sent her son flying across the street. All she did was clap her hands, but that blast was strong enough to send not only him, but Dawn, Cessily, and April flying around.
Sub-Zero was the only one who hasn't been completely frozen in ice during the process. Cessily was frozen completely and needed to be thawed before she could be able to escape. April was able to protect herself with her skills, but she still needed time to recover. Dawn was also able to survive with her speed, but she needed to start and vibrate to get her heat back to get out of the ice.
Sub-Zero was thrown into a store where he then rolled and slammed into a bar area. Groaning, he started to get back up and look around the area.
"Questions...are you open to a drink?" Sub-Zero asked as he eyed a glass.
"We're underage!" Aster cried in annoyance.
"Didn't technically say no," Zero said as he reached for the glass.
But the second he did, a blast of mist came and froze the drink solid. Zero wined as he turned and saw his mother marching into the bar over the shattered glass that was frozen.
"I was about to drink that!" Zero complained.
Aster then quickly took control of their body and held their hands up. "No, he wasn't!"
Zero then took back control and snarled. "Shut up! You're making us look bad."
"No, I'm not." Aster defended.
"Yes, you are!" Zero proclaimed as he eyed Frost again. "Sorry, mom. Arguing with myself. You know how it is."
Frost rolled her eyes and started to march toward her son. "Oh, you sad, strange little boy. Think you were ever worth my time."
"What?" Zero asks, now getting a bit confused after hearing what she was saying. "What...what are you saying?"
"You were an accident...remember?" Frost asks as she strolled over to her son.
Aster was already aware of this information, but to hear their mother say that, hurt them both. "What? Why would you say that?"
"She's not! It's Brainiac!" Aster promises his double. "We May have been an accident, but mom still loves us."
"All of these years..." Frost sighed as she created an icicle in her hand. "Needing to care for your pathetic whimpering self. This time last year, you couldn't stand up for yourself. Now you think you can take me?"
Zero was sorry to admit she was starting to get through to him and make him doubt himself.
"You're weak." Frost then grabbed him by the neck and got ready to stab him. "And now you're done."
"Wait!" Zero cried out as he raised his hands. "Wait, wait! Because...there's...there's something you forgot. Something you didn't count on."
"What's that?" Frost wonders.
"You may not love me...but I got siblings who do." Zero proclaimed.
That's when Ashley came leaping in, getting Frost's attention away from him as she came in, clawing her in the face and sending Frost skidding across the ice Zero quickly shot out to send her flying.
"Sorry, it took a moment." Ashley sighed. "The others are a bit busy."
"No worries." Zero sighed.
Ashley then walked over to Frost and tried to use her powers to pass on some bad luck to even the odds. To her surprise, however, all that happened was Frost getting up and shooting Ashley backward.
Ashley slammed into the wall and groaned as she feels she broke something. "Okay...bad luck powers no effect on mind-controlled people."
Roberta was getting off the ground with a groan after being punched by Superman. She gets up and tapped a device on her suit that called the shield back to her as it attached itself to her arm.
"Okay..." Roberta groaned as she stood up. "I'm alive. Don't send anyone to check up on me or anything."
V.I.V.I.A.N. was currently using her head crystal to fight Superman's laser vision. "We're a bit busy!"
"Gah." Roberta groaned as she popped her arm into place. "Eeah! Yeow! That hurt! Okay..." she then sighed and tried to use her wings, but all they did was spark off. "Great. Lyla, what's wrong with my wings?"
"It would seem that your wings were damaged in the fight with Superman. Automatic repair is already at work to repair them, but it'll take time." Lyla informed the hero.
"Great." Roberta sighed. "Guys, it seems like I'm grounded for the time being."
"You heal up, we'll try and keep these guys down!" Tina said as she was jumping and trying to fight off Batwoman.
"Roger," Roberta said as she looked around. "What now?"
But then she saw a projectile heading her way and quickly raised her shield to block it. That's when it came to her, and she realized it was a shield. When the shield returned to its owner, that's when she realized she was dealing with Captain America.
"You thought that you could be a hero?" Morg'Ann asks her. "You thought you could replace us?"
Roberta didn't answer her and just went for a fight. Morg'Ann was quicker with her shield and raised it to block Roberta's attack and sparks fly off of the two shields. Morg'Ann then grabbed Roberta's shield and pushed it out of the way to try and swing the shield at her face.
But Roberta was just as fast as her as she used her shield to block Morg'Ann's attack this time around. Roberta went for a different approach and tried hand-to-hand combat against her, going to hit her in the face. That ended up being the wrong move when Morg'Ann grabbed her fist and blocked the hit. Then Morg'Ann did a spin to try and hit Roberta, but she managed to duck and dodge the attack.
Roberta did a similar attack as she spun and went to shove her shield into Morg'Ann's chest. But Morg'Ann managed to use the attack to her advantage as she kicked the incoming attack and sent Roberta flying backward into the ground.
Morg'Ann stood over her with a smile seeing she was winning the fight. "I can do this all day.'
"Yeah, yeah," Roberta sighed, knowing she was going to say that while she was getting back up. "I know. Everyone knows."
Roberta got back up to her feet and threw her shield just as her alert went off. "Wings restored."
Morg'Ann then threw her shield and the two of them met up in the middle. The two shields collided and bounded off, skidding off onto the ground. But when Morg'Ann went into a fight, she wasn't expecting Roberta to run up and her wings to sprout out of her back and the two to take off into the air. Before she could even fathom what had occurred, Morg'Ann was slammed into the nearby brick wall.
Roberta watched her unconscious form slide down and sighed just as she noticed Iron Spider coming in and she flew away.
Racing through the streets, Barry Allen was chasing after his daughter, Dawn, as they were both trying to fight one another. Barry was faster, but Dawn was more agile and quicker at stopping and turning.
But when they collide, that's when the true battle begins. Barry was the first to get hit in and punched Dawn in the face, causing her to slam into the back of a car, shattering the trunk of it in the process.
As she tried to get over the attack, she raced down the street and waited for her father to follow. When he did start to chase after her, she suddenly stopped and swung her fist to punch him in the face. The force of her hit was strong enough to send Barry flying and slamming the engine of a transport nearby that harmed him.
Dawn then stopped using her speed when she saw Barry was currently standing still and was worried. Running over to him at normal speed, she was worried she had killed her father. But when she reached him, she was then yanked into the air and slammed against the wall.
"Such disappointment. You thought you could be a hero?" Barry asks as he raised his left hand and started to vibrate it. "You're nothing."
But just when he was about to embed his fist into her chest, Violet stopped him when she came in flying at high speed to smack into him. And while she was at it, Violet kept Barry off the ground so he couldn't start to use his speed to get away and punched him in the face. Dragging his head against the ground, allowing his powers to heal to not kill him, Barry wasn't stopping as he was still trying to phase out of her grasp. Thanks to her newly found powers, Violet was able to keep him in her grasp and throw him far into the ocean.
"So, is this the entire plan?" Mia asked as she ran to dodge the blasts coming from Iron Spider. "Because I feel like we're not gonna be able to win this round!"
"We need to use what we know to our advantage!" Tommy cried as he shot two webs toward Morg'Ann, but she managed to grab his web and yanked him, and slammed him in the face with her shield. "Ow!"
"We need to switch partners!" Tina was understanding what her brother was trying to say. "We all have skills that can help us fight off the others."
"She's right." April agreed as she looked around at the battleground. "If we're gonna win this, we need to divide and conquer."
"Just like with the Syndicate!" Dawn understood as she ran around the city.
"Exactly." Tina saw they were getting it.
"Yeah, and thanks for that." Ashley decided to throw in some sarcasm.
"Not the time!" Zero cried as he shot out ice to freeze Ralph.
Ralph however stretched and avoided the attack and went to attack him. But that's when April came in and used the Symbiote to wrap itself around him.
"Let's see you stretch your way out of this." April mocked as Ralph was fighting back. "I've got him, go!"
Daniel saw she did indeed have this covered and raced to help someone else.
Dawn was running around the city to charge up some lightning and tossed it directly at the Kryptonians as they began to surround her. Once she was charged, she sent out several bolts of lightning toward them all. One hits Superman whilst another hits Supergirl, but neither of them was injured or even phased.
Dawn saw her plan didn't work and was starting to worry when Superman flew down and held her by the throat. He then raised her off the ground whilst dawn did all she could to get out of his grasp. Phasing didn't work out as his grip and powers were too strong for her to fight against.
That's when Ashley came running in and revealed her claws had a kryptonite setting that she used to claw his face. Superman started to become weak and Dawn was able to get out of his grasp. But their victory was short-lived when the ground they were on was frozen by Supergirl's heat breath.
Supergirl then grabbed the two of them and kept Ashley out of arms reach by grabbing her leg. Flying the two of them off of the ground, she was getting her heat vision ready to end the job.
"This is the fall of Young Justice," Kara tells the two of them.
But just when she was going to blast them, something came flying and attached itself to Kara's cape. She looked down at what came in and it looked like a small hockey puck with a green countdown on it. She was curious as to what it was just when it counted down and went off.
Once the device exploded, it released a green gas and Kara started to become weaker. Dawn and Ashley were able to put together that the device was filled with kryptonite.
But who had kryptonite?
It was the last person that they ever expected to come to their rescue.
A figure came in leaping from a nearby skyscraper and flipped around as she came flying in. Kicking the Kryptonian off of the kids, she was able to shoot a grapple, attach it to her belt, and grab the kids before swinging to safety.
Kara fell and impacted the ground, the kryptonite just being enough to weaken her so that the fall wouldn't injure or kill her. But the fall did render her unconscious on the way down, meaning she was out of the game.
When they landed on the building, dawn and Ashley looked up at the woman who came in to save them. She wore a black domino mask and a black-latex jumpsuit with white fur around the top half of the suit and on her sleeves and legs.
"It's been a while since I've worn this old thing." Felicia Hardy said as she felt her hips and fixed the fluff around her shoulders. "Yet again..." she then spun around to face the confused kids. "Someone did steal my suit."
Ashley was still looking in complete and utter shock when she saw that her mother was there. Fifteen years since the last time the two of them were face to face with one another, and here they stood. Felicia looked and couldn't help but smile at how much her daughter has grown, and even a slight of guilt came into her when she remembered what she did.
"Mom?" Ashley was the first to speak as she walked closer to the original Black Cat. "Is it...?"
"It's really me, kid." Felicia sighed as she walked over, caressing Ashley's cheek. "And I'm so sorry. You have questions, and I'll willingly answer them. But..." she then looked out and saw the chaos. "We've got to stop Brainiac."
"Yeah, who told you about him?" Dawn wonders. "And how'd you get from New York to Central City?"
"A little Frankie picked me up." Felicia shrugged.
Just as Kara was trying to stand up, a few dozen chunks of metal came flying and wrapped up around her. Frankie came flying down and landed a few feet from her, instantly sending metal over her eyes and mouth to stop her from using her powers.
"You're not going anywhere, Kara." Frankie proclaimed as she tapped her comm. "You guys like my present?"
"You brought Black Cat to help us?" Armando asked as he opened a breach to block the incoming Flash and breached him to the Arctic. "What's she gonna do?"
"You forget who survived these heroes for fifteen long years?" Felicia asked as she watched them struggle to fight from the rooftop. "I know all their weaknesses. All their strengths."
"Any tips then?" Terry asked as he ducked behind a car to escape Batwoman's oncoming batarangs.
"They like to fall into a pattern." Felicia gave some advice. "Once you get them into that pattern, you can predict what they're gonna do. But also don't fight fire with fire. Fight fire with dirt."
"What the hell does that mean?" Tula asked as she sent a blast of water toward Dreamer, who conjured up a shield to block it.
"Fight with their weaknesses, not their strengths." Tommy understood what he was saying. "Dawn, lead Flash to Zero, Zero get ready to freeze the ground and take him down."
"On it!" Dawn said as she saw what he was planning.
"I think I see where you're going with this," M'gann said.
"The rest of us...scatter," Tommy said as everyone understood what he was saying and followed their instructions.
V.I.V.I.A.N. was in a fistfight against Superman as she was the only one who was capable of fighting him and surviving. Karen was a close second, but she was currently taking down others.
"Superman. Last Son of Krypton. Might we resolve this peacefully?" V.I.V.I.A.N. was trying her best to reason with him as she stopped using her laser.
Superman however didn't respond as he flew over too fast for her to process (which is amazing) and grabbed her by the neck. "The Young Justice must be destroyed."
Superman then reached and grabbed the diamond on V.I.V.I.A.N.'s head. She saw there was no talking sense in the Man of Steel as of this moment and reacted.
"I will take that as a No then," V.I.V.I.A.N. said as she then phased and allowed Superman to fly through him.
Superman was set off balance by the sudden phasing as he's never met V.I.V.I.A.N. before and she had that to her advantage. Grabbing Superman by the cape, she increased her density, so that she could immediately be sent crashing into the Earth. Since she had a hand on Superman, she also sent Superman falling and crashing into the Earth.
When the two of them slammed into the ground, they left a giant crater in the streets. But that didn't stop either of them as Superman flew and slammed into V.I.V.I.A.N. before the two were back into the air.
Sending punch after punch at one another, V.I.V.I.A.N. was doing much more than just fighting him. She was trying to identify what was happening to them. If she could pinpoint the cause of all of this, there could be a way that she can stop it.
But Superman wasn't making it easy on her as she was punched and blasted with heat vision. The combined strength of his powers left V.I.V.I.A.N. flying and crashing into a car, rolling in the streets, then smacking into another building.
But V.I.V.I.A.N. was able to do a complete body scan on him and managed to pinpoint exactly what was happening. There was a device that was currently planted on his neck, which was using his mind against him.
"Guys, I've got the solution to breaking them free!" V.I.V.I.A.N. mentally contacted everyone. "There's a small device implanted in their necks, once that is broken, their connection to Brainiac might be broken."
"Got it!" Mia cried out.
Mia was currently going up against Iron Spider and skidded against the ground as she took cover behind a car.
"But I might need some help against those weapons." Mia pleaded for some form of help.
"Already on it!" Maggie reported in.
"Maggie? Where have you been?" Cessily wonders as she hardened her Mercury form around Elongated Man.
Iron Spider then pulled out a Decimator missile to finish off Green Arrow when his systems went offline. All of his weapons were powered down and he looked around.
"What's happening?" Iron Peter questions.
Deep inside the suit, Maggie was currently using the form of an ant to make her way around and morphing herself to send shocks of energy around the suit.
"Ooh, looks like you're gonna have to take this into the shop!" Maggie mocked.
"Who's...speaking?" Iron Peter wonders.
"It's...your conscience." Maggie decided to joke. "We don't talk a lot these days."
"I got him!" Mia finally had an opening and shot an arrow, completely short-circuiting the suit. "Now find that device!"
Maggie was doing just that as she made her way up to his neck. Once she got there, she found a small device that looked like it was injecting something into Iron Peter's head.
Exactly what she was looking for.
Maggie then crawled her way inside the device and quickly expanded. Taking on the form of a rhino for the way out, she managed to shatter the device and crush Iron Peter.
"Ow." Iron Peter moaned as he looked around the area. "What the hell?"
"Looks like he's back." Mia was happy to report. "What about Manhunter?"
M'gann was currently in the air trying her best to fight her alternate uncle as the two tried to fight the other.
"I and my uncle are currently trying to get reacquainted." M'gann joked as she tried to get ahold of the device on his neck.
"You will not prevail," J'onn promises her.
"He's right." M'gann was sorry to say. "We're both equally powered."
"But we know what all Martians fear." Ollie proclaimed as he flew up and used his newly added weapons to shoot fire at the Martian.
She was able to use just enough that it cause the Martian to become weak and fall. But before he could hit the ground, Ollie managed to shoot a net made out of webbing to catch him.
Then before the Martian could recover, Dawn sped over and ripped the device off of his head. "Three down. Took care of Kara's on the way over."
Tommy was swinging around when he had his webbing cut and ended up falling. He was able to catch himself and skidded to a halt to find he was face to face with Deadpool.
"Really? We're doing this?" Tommy asks.
"Buddy..." Deadpool reached back and retrieved his katana swords. "The fans have been waiting for this showdown for a while." Then he quickly turned around and faced the reader. "FYI, totally mind controlled. Just in case you're confused. I mean, what'd you expect? Me to come in silently and start to fight the hero without talking? We tried that. Nobody liked it."
Then he reached up and drew two katanas out of his suit. Tommy got ready for this and knew he was ready to take him on.
Hopefully.
Wade then came in swinging and went to slice Tommy in the head. But Tommy was able to jump out and shot out a web to yank Wade's sword out of his hands.
"Hey! Don't break that! That's a collectible!" Wade cried out.
"My god, you are even just as annoying mind controlled as you are not." Tommy proclaimed as he threw the sword back toward Wade.
Wade took the blade head-on and allowed it to embed into his chest. "Hey, it's just like that scene in Frozen! Quick, is Frost still mind-controlled?"
"Are you insane?!" Tommy asked as he charged up a blast of mist.
"You're only getting that impression now?" Wade asks as he watched the ice. "Oh, this is so much better when this happens to someone else."
Cessily removed the device off of Ralph as she had him contained as Terry glided past her. He was on his way to help his sisters until he dropped nearby an area he saw Kate disappear. He started to try and use his scanners to try and locate the woman.
"For a girl with a broken leg, you sure can move," Terry commented as he looked around. "Now, where are you?"
"Here," Kate called out.
Terry turns around and was punched in the face by Batwoman as she dropped from the ceiling. Her punch was powered by an electrical gauntlet on her wrist.
"You truly thought that you could be a better Bat than me?" Kate asks as she walked over to him. "If you wanted to make a difference, you should allow Brainiac to control this world. He is order."
"Yeah. The order that is followed by a fiery inferno that decimates the planet." Terry snarled as he tossed smoke bombs and discarded them into the darkness. "What did he do to you, Kate?" He asked in the darkness, causing Kate to look around the area. "What did he do that broke you as badly that you have gone this far?"
"I resisted Brainiac's control long enough. But all it did was cause more suffering. When I gave in, I was free." Kate proclaimed as she tried to pinpoint where he was. "He might just spare your life, too. If you cooperate."
"And end up some mindless drone doing nothing but take orders?" Terry recapped what Brainiac did to her. He was standing over a clearing and had gotten his systems targeting her device. "I choose death first."
"Then so be it," Kate said as she pulled out a Batarang, knowing what he was planning.
Then Terry threw a Batarang to try and crush her device. Kate spun around and tossed her Batarang towards his own. But when the two of them met, Terry's Batarang set off an electrical explosion and was within reach of both of them.
Terry was hit backward as was Kate. The difference was that their suits were disrupted, but so was the device on her neck.
"Oh, god." Kate cried as she looked around the area. "What the hell?"
Felicia and Ashley went back to back and were able to use their combined abilities against the Man of Steel. V.I.V.I.A.N. softened him up, but there was still a lot of ground to cover. Luckily Felicia brought along her stash of Kryptonite, especially for him.
Ashley came in swinging using her grapple hook whilst Felicia made her way up, wrapping her legs around Superman, using her heels with Kryptonite inside, weakening Superman.
Ashley then came in and used the opening to leap and land on Superman's back where she used her claws to keep him weak. With his powers taken care of, she reached to his neck and clawed the device out of his neck.
"Wha...?" Clark was starting to come to his senses and looked around to see the two Black Cat's. "Uh...Spider-Man?"
"Oh, come on, Boy-scout, you nervous about little old me?" Felicia asked him seductively.
"Hi." Ashley quickly stopped whatever was happening. "Child here. Your child, mind you."
"You're no fun," Felicia tells Ashley.
"More like I'm not willing to listen to my birth mother flirt with the Man of Steel."
"Hi, that Man of Steel can hear everything." Clark reminded them.
"So you can." Felicia sounded disappointed at that comment.
Zero was still in a battle against Frost as they were in a battle of ice. Nobody could come too close because they lowered the temperature too much that it would kill anyone.
Frost sent a blast of ice flying towards them as Zero blasted to the side, sending him flying across the ice. That gave them an opening to then shoot Frost and send her flying backward.
"Honestly...thought you'd be harder." Zero commented as he got up.
"Why would you say that?" Aster asks his double.
Frost wasn't down yet when she got back up and sent a clap and sent Zero flying through the air. Zero smacked his head against a mailbox and was rendered unconscious. Aster however woke up and looked around in worry.
"Uh...Zero? You there?" Aster asks as Frost got up, creating a fist out of her ice over her hand. "Because I could really use you!"
Frost then made it over to him and grabbed Aster by the shirt. "You were always pathetic." She then punched him, sending Aster dropping to the ground. "And weak."
But before she could punch him again, a giant blue orb of energy appeared nearby. When it vanished, it left a familiar figure behind.
Cable.
As soon as he appeared, Cable charged up his gun and sent out a sonic blast. The blast didn't touch Aster, but it did send Frost flying and smacking her head into the light post.
Aster looked towards Cable as he started to march his way over. Sub-Zero took this opportunity to pop back up and aimed at him.
"Relax." Cable said as he put his gun away and kept going. "Not here for you."
"Yeah? Well, last time we saw one another, you tried to put a bullet between my eyes!" Zero cried in anger.
"Yeah, fair enough." Cable said as he ripped the device out of Frost's head. "How many are left?"
Roberta was currently helping Tina as they were trying to take down the first hero. Peter wasn't taking it easy on them as he was shooting them onto webs or entrapping their arms so they can't use their ice.
"This is becoming annoying." Roberta cried as she and Tina were thrown onto the street.
"You're right. We gotta think outside the box." Tina agreed as she looked around. "You got anything?"
"Something." Roberta sighed as she looked over at her. "But..."
"What?" Tina wants to hear her idea.
"It's gonna hurt." Roberta groaned.
Black Lightning was blasting the streets as the others couldn't get close and he was allowing the robots the necessary space to do their work. But that work was interrupted when a blast of yellow electricity came in and revealed Electro coming in.
"Hey, old man. There's only enough city here for one electrical figure." Francine mocked the old hero. "I suggest you stand down."
"That was going to be my advice to you." Jefferson mocked as he charged up more power.
But the moment he fired toward Electro, it was blocked off by a chunk of metal that came in and Frankie follows soon after. "Hello again."
Electro then took this time to send a blast of electricity toward Black Lightning. But he was fast enough to block the attack with his abilities and protected himself and the device. Just as he was getting ready to retaliate, someone came from behind and shot him in the neck.
Rebecca stood tall as Black Lightning dropped to the ground with a groan. "And that's called bait and switch. I think."
"You're thinking of misdirection," Misty stated as she flew down. "Not bait and switch."
"Ow," Jefferson said as he looked around at the mixture of heroes., young and old, as well as the criminal. "What happened?"
Spider-Man shot out a web and grabbed onto Roberta's shield. But she managed to use that to her advantage and copied Captain America's move and smacked him in the face. Before she could manage to get to the device, Spider-Man leaped off the ground and kicked Roberta in the face, and tackled her to the ground.
Before the hero could hit her again, Tina came swinging in, invisible to his senses and sent a blast of ice to freeze both Roberta and Peter. Taking an extra minute to make sure it was a thick layer of ice, she stopped when they were completely frozen.
Luckily they knew Roberta and Peter could survive in temperatures like the ice was putting them on. Strolling over to her father, Tina grabbed the back of his neck, punched the ice to create a hole, and ripped the device out.
"Hey, Viv, when you have a moment, we have two members that need to be thawed." Tina jokes.
Dreamer was a lot harder to take down as she was currently holding both Armando and Karen in her grasp of powers. When she started to choke them out, ATOM came flying in and punched her in the face. It didn't seem to affect the powers however and he saw he needed to go again.
Dreamer wasn't however going to give him the chance and trapped him in a bubble. "Was that your whole plan?"
"nope. I was just the diversion." Ray admitted.
"What?" Dreamer asks.
That's when Miles de-cloaked and came charging a Venom-Blast and punched her in the back. That chased her decide to break and send her flying, and all of her nerves shocked in the process.
"Whoo. She's gonna feel that tomorrow." Miles joked.
Getting an idea with a spark of inspiration from Felicia, Dawn was once again speeding down the streets to try and avoid Flash who was right on her tail. But that's when she turned the corner and her plan was put into play.
Dawn then ran down an alley as Flash went around and Dawn came out just to slide and dodge a punch Flash was throwing. Back into the race, the two of them were running all around the city trying to best one another.
But when they were racing up the side of a building, that's when Flash learned he wasn't chasing Dawn. That was confirmed when she stopped running on the side of her building and Dawn morphed into Sub-Zero.
Mosaic.
Maggie created an ice wall just before the Flash could stop, ending with him running head-first into it.
Flash was left lightheaded after his collision with the ice wall and was sent falling. On his way down Violet opened a portal that sent him skidding against the ground and slamming into another vehicle.
"God, people are going to have a field day with this much destruction." Violet could predict as April came in and webbed the Flash to the car.
"Who cares? They can bill us later." April scoffed.
Carolyn then came and reached into the back of the car and dislodged the device connected to Barry. "That's another superhero down."
Tula was currently in a fistfight against Morg'Ann as she was using all of her abilities to counteract the soldier. Morg'Ann swung her fist and shield as Tula went down and ducked to avoid the attack. Then as she got her opening, a fire hydrant caught her eye and she got an idea.
Morg'Ann smacked Tula with her shield whilst she was distracted and sent her flying. But that was precisely what Tula wanted her to do. When she got back up, she could feel the water pulsing through the hydrants, begging for release.
Channeling her powers, Tula burst the hydrants open and water surrounded the two of them. Sending a blast of it flying towards Captain, it sent her flying upward and smacked her into the building. When the water passed her over, Dawn sped in and ripped off the device.
And then there was one.
Ghost-Spider was the only one who seemed to use her senses since she had a highly unusual ability to sense just about anyone. So no matter who came running in, she was always able to detect and dodge it.
All but for one.
Armando opened a portal and ran through it to go behind Gwen, shooting a Vibe-blast at her from behind. Gwen leaped out of the way and shot a web to join his gauntlets so he couldn't try that again and looked around.
She was surrounded, but no heroes knew how to get past her sense. That's when they played their final card.
Gwen was about to get ready to strike again when the ground suddenly came alive. The sand at her feet suddenly grabbed ahold of her and burst up to hit her in the face. The sand then started to take shape and reveal to be Sandgirl.
"Didn't see that coming, did you?" Keemia asks the last mind-controlled hero.
With her bound to the ground with the sand, V.I.V.I.A.N. came in through the ground and yanked the device off.
Freeing the last of the Justice League from the control of Brainiac.
Brainiac was watching everything through the eyes of the heroes as the Young Justice foiled his last attempt.
"Impressive. They managed to thwart them faster than I predicted." Brainiac commented while he looked towards Brainy, who was hooked up to a giant machine as his last signal was cast. "But no matter... I've won."
Then a beam came down from his ship and it started to consume the major cities around the world. The heroes watched as they realized Brainiac tricked them. He was using the Justice League not as a defense mechanism, but as a distraction.
"Oh, man..." Armando said when he saw they were seconds away from losing.
