I Am Emma Swan

Chapter 17

Archie knew he had to do something and fast or he was a dead man, with his hands on the gravel he gathered up the sandy ground and rocks and threw it back at the gunman's face as he rolled to the left. The man blindly took a shot but missed Archie who then got up and plowed into the man knocking him down onto the ground. Struggling Archie was finally able to knock the gun out of the hitman's hand and with a few good punches to the man's face he knocked him unconscious.

Archie took a moment to catch his breath, his back and left side felt as if they were on fire now that the adrenaline was wearing off. He picked up the gun and tucked it in his waistband then checked the man for any other weapons and took the phone from his inside pocket.

Not wanting to leave the man and have him come after Archie later he went back to the car and checked for something to tie him up. He was surprised and fortunate that he himself wasn't bound or he would probably be a goner right now. In the back seat there was a duffle bag, looking through it he found zip ties and a file with photos of him, it seemed the man had been following him for quite some time.

Getting in the car he backed up close to the unconscious man, got out and tied the man up before dragging him up to the car. Archie was not sure where all this strength was coming from but he was thankful for it as he was able to get the man into the backseat and onto the floor. Once he accomplished that he checked the phone for service and of course in the middle nowhere there wasn't any. Unsure of where he is, he turned the car around and headed back the way they came hoping to hit a highway so he could continue to Maine.

Detectives West and Dracona were speeding their way to Maine when West's phone rings.

"Shit, it's the captain." She said to her partner then answered her phone, "Hey Cap, what's up?"

"Where the hell are you and your partner?"

"Well, you see sir, we got a lead that our suspect is in…. uh Maine." West replied with a grimace, knowing how her captain was going to react.

"You're what? What the hell possessed you to think you could do that? You have a job here in Boston! You don't have jurisdiction in Maine! Get your asses back here now!" The captain yelled loud enough that Dracona heard it.

"Can't do boss, we're halfway there now, we've already contacted State police and we're trying to reach the local sheriff in the town we're going to. We know we can't make any arrests but we're going to be there to take him down. Plus, we need to find…uh that investigator, Hopper, he's been abducted."

"Come again?"

"You remember the guy Archie Hopper? Well, he left us a message early this morning that he knew where the Swan woman was and before he made it back to the precinct he was abducted, we have it on camera from his hotel; we believe he's being taken back to Maine as well or…"

"Or being killed as we speak?"

"That unfortunately could be the case, sir."

"I'm going to have both your asses in a sling when you get back! You better contact the sheriff before you get there. You do not do anything without their say. They are in charge, not you. Do you understand me? If the suspect is there, you will do this by the book, you cannot arrest them. Don't do anything to jeopardize this, and if you are wrong and this is a wild goose chase consider yourselves back in uniform and walking the beat."

"Yes sir, thank you sir." West responded then ended the call. "Well, that could have been worse."

"We better be right about this; I don't want to be a beat cop again." Dracona said.

"We're right about this, I know it. I just hope Hopper is all right."

Neal made his way up to the storage room after Eugenia informed him that Gold would be there later, he needed to make sure Emma would do as he said and pretend to be Judith and sign the will. He unlocked the door and pushed it open. The room was dark; he just figured the bulb had blown and no one bothered changing it since the room wasn't being used much.

He stepped in and was hit on the side of the head with a lamp. He stumbled but caught himself on a box the light from the hallway aiding him. He turned around quickly blocking another hit of the lamp with his arm. Growling he grabbed the lamp and pulled the woman towards him grabbing her by the hair.

"You bitch! You're going to pay for that!" Neal roared as he slapped Regina across the face.

Emma came up behind them put her arm around his neck and pulled him away from Regina.

Neal elbowed her in the stomach and pushed her off him and to the floor. He reached out and grabbed Regina before she could pick up whatever she was going to use against him. He pushed her against the wall then pulled her around to face Emma who had gotten up and was about attack again, but he had his arm around Regina's neck holding her close to his body then put a gun to her head.

"Step back or I will kill her, Emma. Stand back!"

"Do what you want to me, just let her go." Emma pleaded.

Regina fell as she was pushed hard out the door. Neal closed the door locking Emma inside he then grabbed Regina by the arm and roughly pulled her up to her feet.

"Let me go!" Regina hissed as he gripped her arm digging in painfully.

"Neal? What's all this? What are you doing with her?" Eugenia chastised her son.

"I'm going to put her out of my misery that's what!"

"Neal!"

"I'm separating them, the bitches attacked me!"

"Fine but take her to my room, tie her up and keep her quiet! What if Mary Margaret heard you? We're too close for you to screw this up Neal. Now go!" Eugenia commanded.

Neal did as his mother said and tied her up and tightly tied a scarf around her mouth to keep her from yelling. "If you try that again or anything at all, I will kill you do you understand me? I will kill you and your kid."

Her eyes wide in fear Regina gave a nod to accept her fate.

Neal was heading back to the storage room to get Emma when he received a message from Hatt, letting him know that the kid is still on the loose possibly in the house by now.

"Fuck! FUCK FUCK FUCK!" He yelled outside the storage room.

He pulled open the door and pointed his gun towards Emma, "Come out, don't say a word and act like Judith. We're going to your room, you need to change and get ready for the lawyer."

Emma wordlessly came out of the room and walked towards the one she had been staying in for the past what seems like years now but had only been a couple of months. Since she and Regina were caught and put into that storage room, she'd been having flashes and believes they are her own memories and not Judith's.

She knew that they need her to get away with this and that was leverage she would be able to use but now they have Regina and possibly Henry so she's not sure what to do. If she doesn't go along with them, they will hurt them or worse kill them. Although deep down she knows they're going to kill them all after the will has been signed. She needed to get help without alerting the mother/son team, but she didn't know how.

She wasn't sure who she could trust; Mary Margaret had been here all along, was she in on it? Is the lawyer that's coming a part of this too? The doctor she met a couple of times at the beginning most certainly was.

"How much money are they getting anyway?" Emma mumbled to herself.

"What?"

"Huh? N…nothing talking to myself."

"Shut up and get in there!" Neal commanded pushing her into the room then locking the door behind him. He then stood in front of the wardrobe-passage way.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm not leaving you alone in here. I'm not stupid. Now get yourself cleaned up and put on something nice to meet with the lawyer."

Henry waited a few minutes after the voices faded away and then pulled the door open, he was behind a bookcase, so he pushed it and it easily slid to the side. He pulled the door closed, moved the bookcase back and checked around to see what room he was in.

He looked for a telephone but didn't see any, so he quietly walked to the entrance way and looked around. He heard loud voices above him, so he took off into Judith's art room and hid behind the door. He heard a scream and he yelled out "mom!" then immediately covered his mouth with his hand to keep himself quiet so he wouldn't be found.

He peaked out the door again and saw the old lady going upstairs. He took that opportunity to get out of there to find help.

He hurried down the hallway close to the kitchen where he knew there was a phone the cook used for placing food orders. It wasn't far now, he just needed to go around the corner and he could call 911.

Just as he rounded the corner someone grabbed his arm.

"Who are you and what are you doing here young man?"

Notes:

I wonder what Henry has got himself into this time? Can you tell that I like cliffys? I'd say that I was sorry but I'm really not. Hehehe
