I Am Emma Swan

Chapter 20

David could only stare at his girlfriend in confusion then gently grabbed her shoulders to keep her from pacing. "Hey, hey calm down, Mary Margaret I don't understand what you're trying to say."

"I…I can't David, don't you see? Henry was telling the truth! He said my mom and Emma. EMMA! That's who Judith said she was when I first started. How would he know that? He wouldn't! He called her Emma, she told me her name was Emma Swan and to stop calling her Judith! And...and did you see how dirty he was? Well Mr. Cassidy was just the same a few minutes ago and he wouldn't let me see Judith. He became really angry and stopped me from going to her room. Henry was telling the truth!"

David pulled her in for a hug and soothingly rubbed her back, "Hey now, it's okay just calm down a bit."

"I can't David! We…I need to call the police!" Mary Margaret insisted and pulled away from David and went for her phone.

"What? No Mary Margaret, you can't call them!"

"But I have to! Don't you get it? They must have taken her or something. She said she applied for a job and woke up here. They must have … oh my God, they kidnapped her!"

"Mary Margaret, get a hold of yourself and stop this."

"And…and I just thought she was ill, that she had a nervous breakdown and I ignored her, I didn't believe her…I…"

"Mary Margaret Stop! Get a hold of yourself and think for a moment." David interrupted. "You don't have any real proof to call the police, the Cassidy's would be upset if you did and it was all wrong. And if what you say is true, then don't you think you'll be blamed too? I mean you helped them with her. The police could think you were in on it."

"Oh my God! What are we going to do?"

After his run-in with the nosy maid, Neal went to his room and had a drink. "It's almost done, just a couple more hours and I can get the hell out of here."

After he showered and dressed, he thought about checking on the Mills woman before getting Emma. As he was straightening his tie his hands began to shake and he felt dizzy. He went to his bedside table, opened a bottle of pills and took two chasing it with two fingers of scotch. He bent his head and took a deep breath. "Just a couple more hours."

Forgetting all about Regina, Neal grabbed his gun and tucked it into his belt under his jacket and proceeded to the storage room for Emma. He had heard the doorbell before showering so he knew Gold was there and he needed to get down there with 'Judith'. He took out the large ring of tagged keys and unlocked the door, before opening it he took out his gun and stepped back. "You can come out, I'm armed, so no funny business."

Emma who had been pacing ever since she was put into this room the second time finally succumbed to what was going to happen next. She just needed to find a way to let the lawyer know she wasn't Judith Cassidy without anyone getting hurt. She had no idea where Regina and Henry were or if they were okay. If it weren't for that she wouldn't hesitate to run or to tell the lawyer everything. She'd fight the bastard and his mother if she had to.

She doesn't know about the Mills' but she does know that she needed to walk out of this room and be Judith Cassidy which shouldn't be too difficult, even with some of her own memories coming back to her.

"I'm coming out and I won't try anything."

"Good, now get going, Gold is here already and we need to be down there." Neal demanded as he grabbed Emma's arm and pushed her along. "Now make sure you convince him you're sane and that you are Judith Cassidy because if this signing goes south, I'm going to kill you, Regina and her kid. I'll make you watch them die so know it's all your fault."

"All right! I got it, just let me go I can walk on my own." Emma growled as she pulled her arm away from Neal.

"I don't trust you so you and I are going to walk down these stairs arm in arm and into the library, greet Mother and Mr. Gold as the happy married couple that we are. Don't push me or else." Neal grabbed Emma's arm again, linked them and proceeded towards the staircase.

Eugenia saw them first and smiled. She was a bit worried with all that has happened today with the Mills woman and her son but as they are both safely locked away and Emma is here with Neal things can only go up from here. "Neal, Judith so glad you're here so we can start with your wills. First though, Judith this is Mr. Gold and Mr. Gold this beautiful young woman is my daughter in-law Judith Spencer-Cassidy."

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Gold." Emma grasped the man's hand and shook it but held on a little before letting go.

"And you Mrs. Cassidy."

"Spencer-Cassidy." Emma corrected him with a small smile but widen her eyes hoping he caught it.

"Mr. Gold and I have already gone over my will; I just need to sign and have it witnessed. I thought it better to have Mary Margaret witness them all at once instead of one at a time." Eugenia chimed in interrupting the awkwardness between them.

"Sounds wonderful, Mother."

"Yes, it does, Eugenia."

"All right then, Neal we should go over yours first and then Judith's as hers is more in depth and more to go over."

"No! No, go over Judith's first, I insist."

"Very well, please have a seat, Judith. You can read the will over but when we go over it you two," He gestured to Eugenia and Neal, "will have to leave as you are beneficiaries and I cannot have you here."

Neal and Eugenia look at each other, leaving Emma alone was a complication they knew would occur but they were certain Emma wouldn't do anything to endanger the woman or the boy. Their silent conversation confirmed this with a nod from Neal.

Emma looked at the papers in front of her then to Neal and his mother then to Gold who was rummaging in his briefcase. Knowing she will have time without the two in the room she pretended to read the will while trying to figure out a way to get out of this without anyone getting hurt.

It had been a while since Regina heard the doorbell and since no one had come up to rescue her it must have been the lawyer. The friction Regina was using for the rope was not working. She knew a way to bring her hands in front of her but wasn't sure if she was nimble enough to try it. She did start wringing her hands back and forth hoping to stretch the rope so she could slip her hands out. It was taking time, something that wasn't on her side.

Nimble or not she had to try to get her hands in front of her. To do so she knew to sit on the floor and moved her hands under and forward. Now the hard part, she leaned over and folded her legs so she could get her hands past her feet. It took a bit of time but she managed to get her hands in front of her.

She got back up and went over to Eugenia's bureau. She found a pair of scissors and manoeuvred them to cut the rope and get free. "God, why is this taking so long?"

Finally free she put her boots back on and made her way out the door but it was locked. "God Dammit!"

Sheriff Booth watched as a number of vehicles and a van pulled up to his office. Two men got out of the State Police SUV and two women got out of a dark blue sedan. The tall skinny one held out his hand introducing himself and the others.

"Welcome, I'm Sheriff Booth and my deputy is inside, shall we?"

The officers go inside and are greeted by Deputy Eloise Gardener. "I would say it's nice to meet you but under the circumstances…." She trailed off and gave a small smile to the Sergeant.

"So, what do you have? How do you know this woman is being held against her wishes?"

Zelena began with the murder of Belle French and Archie's search for Emma hired by Judith Spencer, his abduction and then the voice messages from Regina Mills.

"And you believe Ms. Mills? Because I gotta tell ya, I have had a talk with her and she's somethin' else. And I've been reading her books, she's got quite the imagination on her." Booth questioned as he sat on the corner of his desk.

"What were you talking to her about?" Maleficent asked not really liking the sheriff.

"Mr. Cassidy expressed his concern with her boy, that he was trespassing on his estate and wanted it stopped. It was Ms. Mills, after getting an earful that suggested that I investigate Cassidy and not her son."

"And what did you find out?"

"Not a whole lot, he was married before but widowed. Other than that, nothing, no charges, arrests, no speeding tickets nothing. I did get his picture and his mother Eugenia Cassidy's picture from their license."

"Let's take a look at those. West, send that to the captain maybe the witness can identify them." Dracona told her partner as she handed the pictures to her. Then turning back to the sheriff, "Do you know how his spouse died?"

"It was an accidental drowning." Booth answered.

"We need to go there now; Archie Hopper was only an hour behind us and should be on his way. He'll have his abductor with him. Can you have one of your officers stay here and take care of that?" West pressed not wanting to wait any longer.

"It's usually just Gardener and I but I do have someone who fills in once in a while. I'll call John Little in and he'll take care of the prisoner." Booth replied taking out his phone.

"Sheriff Booth filled me in after your call and I was able to find an aerial picture of the estate. I also found out there was a documentary on the Spencer's awhile back and they had some footage of the interior on the internet." Eleanor informed the others.

Dracona smiled at the deputy, thinking this woman should be the actual sheriff, "Great job! Let's see what you got."

Sergeant Scarlet studied the picture of the estate and began calling out orders. "Okay, we need to surround the area. Philip, you take the troopers, split them into two teams and secure the east and west side, we'll be in front with Sheriff Booth. Deputy Gardener and the Boston team, you guys can secure the back and on the beach. Remember you two cannot make an arrest so take it easy out there."

"Now we'll have Sheriff Booth go to the door, just a friendly visit. Try and get inside we need to know how many people are in there and their locations. It's a large estate we may not be able to locate everyone, it would be good to be able to get inside." Sergeant Scarlet trailed off.

"Here's a picture of Emma Swan, it's not great but in case you see her." Dracona held out her phone then sent the picture to the sheriff and his deputy.

"We really should get going; I don't like how much time has passed since Mills sent Hopper that message."

"Okay team, check your weapons put on your vests let's go!"

Checking his surroundings, Jefferson saw a chair with pieces of duct tape around it and on the floor. Then he heard a gasping sound, with his gun drawn he walked over towards the desk knowing someone was there.

Henry could hear footsteps coming towards him so he backed around to the other side of the large desk, taking a peek above the desk and saw the man with a gun. He quickly ducked down and continued to crawl as quietly as he could to the other side with the fireplace shovel in his hand. He heard the man stop, so he stopped and held his breath.

Hatt stepped quickly to the side of the desk and pointed his gun but no one was there. He leaned over to see if there was someone on the other side but didn't see anyone. He knew he heard something earlier. He looked back at the chair; someone was definitely tied up there but where are they now? Hatt wondered.

Before he could turn around, he was hit on the head and he fell to the ground. "Fuck!"

Henry brought the shovel back and swung at the man again; he then dropped the shovel and ran towards the secret door.

"You little shit, I'm going kill you!" Hatt yelled and ran after the boy.
