Hey y'all I'm back! As a little new years gift I decided to update this darn story! Now I actually have a very valid reason for my nearly 2 year absence which I will get to at the end. So for know enjoy!
(P.S things get a little heavy towards the end so be ready for that.)
"Janja! Get out of here now" Kion called out to threaten the pack of hyenas led by Janja circling around Nala. For some reason today the second in command of the outlands seemed more persistent to bother the prince, but to threaten his mother was crossing a line that was never to be crossed.
Kion felt all his rage buildup in chest, his version turned red with uncontrollable anger, and his mind clear of any distractions that would hinder his mind of any distractions that would stop him from saving his mother from these monstrous haynes. Kion felt the ground rumble around him, as strange storm clouds started to form over the sunny sky turning the blue sky above into a dark gray.
"Let. Her. GOO-"
"NO!" Kion shouted as he shot up from his slumber. His chest going up and down as he took in shallow breaths to support his fast beating heart.
Kion looked around to make sure everything was normal. Thankfully, Taka was culled up in a snoring fit, and the grass on their sacred hill was just as dry as 'that day'.
"I'll be right back, I just need some alone time." Kion told his sprite guarden who just snored back in response. While he was completely used to snores as a response from Taka, Kion couldn't help but feel some kind of annoyance with his guardian this time around.
Making his way down Nyota Clif, Kion felt the rush of the dry air that was normal for the dry season run though his fur, letting out an agitated growl as it did. He hated how rough and dry the air felt. It was like a million little porcupine needles being brushed against his skin. Dry season air was just the worst.
"Hehe what a surprise- anothing thing I hate about this damn kingdom." Kion mused to himself as he neared the empty watering hole. Most water that was left in the hole were small little puddles that glowed soft enough for Kion to see himself clearly in the water. His reflection gave him a good view of his less than favorable body.
Thanks to the lion guard, Kion was very much in shape for a pubescent lion cub, he has lost his cub face, and while his pale yellow fur and his eye bang should be off, in all honestly it combined with the mix of red and black in his mane it made Kion somehow "roguishly handsome" to some of the other younger lioness in the pride he didn't care to learn the name of.
"I hate you so much." Kion growled at his reflection. Save for the black in his mane and the scar over his eye, Kion was practically the splitting image of a younger Simba. Looking into the puddle, Kion felt the world slip away, where soon the only thing he could hear was his own venomous voice.
Simba, the great lion king.
Simba, the noblest lion around.
Simba, the protector of all animals.
Simba, the mate to the great queen Nale.
Simba, the lion who defeated "The Mad King Scar".
Simba, the lion who killed the real mad king Mufasa.
Simba, the lion who ran away instead of owning up to his crimes.
Simba, the lion who helped give birth to the first mad queen named Kiara.
Kion felt his breathing increase in speed as he looked at the small puddle. Soon each breath turned into a growl as his mind raced with every reason Kion hated Simba as his reflection stares right back at him. Seemingly mocking him as his one amber eye was one of the clearest thing reflected in the water.
Simba, the lion who gets all the praise for Kion's work .
Simba, the lion who other animals looked to for false leadership and terrible life advice.
Simba, the lion who tricked Nale into falling in love with him.
Simba, the lion who wasted all of Nale's morning smiles while she was still aloud mornings.
Simba, the lion who killed Taka, his own uncle.
Simba, the lion who killed Kion's true father, his own great uncle.
Soon Kion's thoughts just started to blend together as an unknown yet familiar feeling welled up in Kion. It was very much like anger but Kion was angry most of the time…. this was something much more- primal. This feeling was hotter, more passionate than some common anger he feels on the daily. Kion felt like his blood was turning into lava the more he looked at his reflection. Kion swore the longer he looked at the more of Simba he saw in himself.
Kion, the lion who is cursed with the blood of Simba
Kion, the lion who is cursed with the fur of Simba.
Kion, the lion who is cursed with the eye of Simba.
Kion leaned closer into his reflection as he let out a monstrous snarl at his reflection, falling to notice the sudden pitch black storm clouds covering the sky, or the ground shaking below his paws. It was just Kion.
"I hate you." The lion teen said to his reflection with a nasty, venomous snarl.
"I hate your fur."
"I hate your title."
"I hate your self righteous shit."
"I hate your eyes."
With each deep, cutting hate filled insult to his reflection, Kion got closer, and closer to his reflection until it was just his eyes look back at him with the same pissed off, and murderous look, another more deeper sound escaped his mouth as the low light played a terrible trick on him, as both of Kion's eyes shined with the proud royal amber color.
"I HATE you." Kion yelled with a roar, before slashing wildly at the puddle.
Kion felt a strange sense of pleasure as he felt the water splash around, sliding through the gaps between his claws. Due to the dry season the water was a little warmer than normal, and Kion enjoyed the feeling of the warm liquid flying through the gaps of his claws. Kion enjoyed how his sharp claws swiped through the water like it was nothing. In his rage, Kion's version slowly blurred as he clawed at the puddle, soon the colorless water turned slightly red, and it began to feel a little heavier.
Then- something shocked in a nearby brush causing Kion to stop his assault on the puddle, but although the puddle was safe, whatever dared now had Kion's full unhinged attention.
With his vision red Kion lowered himself to the ground and began to slowly crawl his way towards the noise bush, trying his hardest to keep his growles to himself to keep himself quite. As he got closer to the bush a smell of an animal Kion had never smelt before. An animal was trespassing. Kion sat up from his hunched stance and sat right down on the ground as a grin spread across his face.
There was a trespasser in the Pride Lands.
"You can come out. I know you're there, trespasser."
"Oh umm- al-alright. Sorry."
Out from the bushes came out an animal Kion has never seen, whatever it was it had the legs of a zebra and a body of a small mini giraffe with brown fur. Whatever it was it was differently not a Pride Land native.
"I'm Ajabu. I-i didn't mean to-"
"Look,I don't care about your backstory." Kion growled, which frightened Ajabu, if it wasn't obvious by his sudden jump. Seeing the mystery animal's fearful reaction made Kion feel something. It made him feel tingly, Kion felt a nice wave run down his back. Like that an idea came to mind, as did a sinister smirk, all with a slight growl in his stomach.
"You know, trespassing in the Pride Lands can end in different ways." Kion's eyes narrowed as his claws came out, each one nice and sharp, as he started to circle Ajabu "Now some idiots would simply leave you with a warning and lead you back to the… where you from?"
"T-t-I'm co-come from the B-B-Backlands." Ajabu stutted
"Right. Anyways, back to the point at paw. Unlike most of the simple minded animals here, I. Prince Kion of the Pride Lands actually will let you off with a gift."
Ajabu stood still for a moment, his nervousness washing away slightly, but still wary of the lion in front of him, whose unnerving smile never left his face as he sat right in front of him. "R-rrealy? I-I mean you don't have to, I much rather be on my way anyway."
Kion smiled a little wider, almost making sure his sharp teeth were in view. "You sure. I promise it's worth your while."
"Nono- I think I'll just go." Ajabu quickly said, obviously very uncountable with what was going on.
"Damn. Well it can't be helped. At least let me tell you what it was going to be." Kion's voice held a scary amount of pep in it, and his smile could't be read with anything but ill intent. Any animal would normally run away from a lion acting this odd on the spot, but Ajabu was practically frozen in place. Unable to do anything but stammer out answers.
"We-I don't really-why-sure."
Kion looked right into Ajabu's eyes, his toothy smirk never leaving his face with his sharp claws bared into the ground. "I was going to give you ten seconds."
"...What?"
"You are trespassing in MY kingdom. Now I know that King Kimba or whatever his name is would have let you off the hook but… he's kinda lost it in the head. So as prince I see the only acceptable course of action is too- well let the circle of life happen." Kion watched absolute fear take over Ajabu's eyes and body as he began to shake uncontrollably, too shocked to move.
" Now the gift I was giving you was ten seconds to run for your pathetic life and give you a slimmer of hope of getting away. But now, you only get five seconds to run or stand there. Don't really matter to me I was going to kill you either way." Kion said casually as he checked out his claws to make sure they were in shape. Kion looked up to find Ajabu still shaking in his hooves, the fear plan on his as Kion's scar.
"Three seconds give or take. It's amazing wh-" Before Kion could finish the sound of frantic hooves hitting the ground, to his surprise Ajabu was already a dot in the dark distance. Kion felt his heart skip with glee as he got into hunting position. "Shit. Though I scared him frozen. Aww well, I could use the exercise."
Kion ran after the backlander, following his scent so as to not lose track of his prey, enjoying the midnight air running between his fur, the thrill of the hunt pusing his legs faster, making his heart pump with adrenaline. As the scent got closer to Kion his grin grew into a smile as his stomach gained a fluttery feeling. It only increased when Ajabu's slowly got closer in view. It was clear by the way Ajabu was running that he was getting tired and seemed though he was in the clear. Kion chuckled to himself as he got closer to Ajabu's blind side.
"Hay! Don't slow down for my sake." Kion shouted, surprising Ajabu who seemed to be at his wits end.
"AAHA! Wa-wait! Maybe we can talk this out!?"
"Aaaaah no. It's only- SHIT!" Kion suddenly felt all of his speed and adrenaline go away in a matter of seconds as he fell on to the dry dusty land of the Backlands. Coughing out the dust that found its way into his nose and month as he heard the clumping of hooves slowly get fainter and fainter into the night.
Kion looked back to his back leg to see one of his hind paws got stuck in an up rooted root. Gumbling a color vocabulary of many swears as he tried to free his paw, Kion felt the familiar burn in his stomach as each second passed without being free.
Look at you! Even a newborn can catch that thing!
"Shut Up." Kion growled.
Aaaaah no. It's only right you mess up doing something so simple.
If only you weren't so pathetic then you wouldn't be here Prince Kion.
Kion growly grew in his throat, as his attempt to free his hind paw grew more and more futile. "I'm more then some stupid Prince I'm-"
Kion leader of the lion guard! Ya I know dimwit! Still doesn't mean you're a pathetic nobody that anyone can see is dead weight. I guess it only makes sense that the son of Simba-
Kion felt the small burn in his stomach grow quickly into a volcano, as with a roar Kion unsheathed his claws from and then in mere seconds, Kion felt a hot, heavy, liquid run down his shoulder where his lion guard mark was. His breath slowed down as he smelt the pungent secant of lion blood, and just like that the voice in his head was gone.
"Hehehe, I like to see a pathetic nobody draw royal blood like that." Kion said with a smirk, feeling oddly pleased with himself. Sadly his sensation didn't last as his sight slowly got blurry, and soon the world grew darker than the night sky,
"Am I right…. Kion?" and then silence as Kion felt himself slump sideways.
For some odd reason the dry grass of Nyota was far itchy than it should be during the dry season, almost like it had water to keep the grass from being dead to being mostly dead.
"Wake up cub." A gruff voice said smugly from above. Kion knew the voice of his spirit dad like the back of his paws, and whatever animal woke him up was not his spirit dad.
Within seconds Kion shot up and was ready to face his adversary but as he got up a sharp pain from his marked arm crushed him to sit back down with a frustrated growl. As he muttered a collection of swears under his breath, the gruff voice of his adversary chuckled from above from a tree he was under.
"Hehehe, quite the mouth you got there cub."
"Pssh, show yourself so I can be annoyed with you already." Kion heard a branch shift under someone's weight and watched a leopard gracefully land into the morning sun. The leopard turned around to face Kion, who returned the leopard's cocky smirk with a death scowl.
"Heh. See something ya like cub?" The leopard said as he slowly walked closer to Kion. Kion held his scowl as he watched the leopard. He clear only a little bigger then Kion and combined with his little knowledge of leopard, he had to be no older then Kiara.
Kion returned the smirk at the leopard, but his eyes still held the killer look to them, "tch, even if I did see something, I wouldn't know what to call what I saw."
The leopard extended his paw, seemingly letting his guard down. "Names Makucha cub pleased to meet-"
Makucha was interrupted when Kion pounced on him and pinned him to the ground. At first Makucha was surprised but soon his smirke returned as Kion pained whence gave the leopard the advantage he needed to turn the rock and quickly pinned Kion to the ground with him on top.
"Nice try cub! But you an't doing shit with an injury like yours!"
"Quit calling me a cub! You're not that much older." Kion squirmed under the leopard, baring his teeth to the leopard, who let out a deep laugh, which made Kion feel…. something in his stomach.
"Really, cuz only a cub would try to hunt in the middle of the night in Leopard territory! You're flaking lucky that I didn't let you bleed out when I found your sorry tail."
"So why save me then?"
Kion watched as Makucha got off him before hopping up on a branch to gain the high ground. As he did Kion noticed a strong smell coming from Makucha that cringed to his fur, but much to his annoyance the leopard started talking.
"I noticed the tracks around you were okapi tracks. Now, there is only one okapi who has that size hoof, and I have been hunting that damn okapi. There is no way Ajabu would have done that to you, so even I'll admit you must have some skill to chance him all the way here from the stuffy Kingdom of yours."
"So you want my help to hunt Ajabu, and for what might I add?" Kion asked with a raised eyebrow, as his eyes met Makuchas.
"I dunno, your lion pride or whatever and a nice meal." Makucha laid down on the branch letting one of his paws and his tail hang loosely in the air. Kion figured he must be showing some kind of hospitality.
"I got nothing to prove to you leopard. I have my own crap to do." Kion spat but before he could turn to leave Makucha spoke once more.
"Come on now. I know you lions hate losing their prey. I'm giving you a chance to fix your wounded pride . If you help me, I may actually believe your not some dumb cub. Besides,he in the Back Lands you can be as dirty as you want. No need to keep those repressed feelings down." Kion heard the dry tree branch bounce subtly up and down. Soon, Makucha's hot breath was grazing Kion's ear.
"So how about it?"
Kion went to swap at Makucha, but messier as the leopard dodged out of the way with another one of his deep voiced laughs. Both cats stood on either side of the tree, Kion held as good a fighting stance as he could keeping his hunting face on, while Makucha stood relaxed and ready.
"Really, I'm offering a pretty good deal here cub! Just hear me out!"
Makucha: Right here, right now
I put the offer out
I don't want to chase you down
I know you see it
You run with me
And I can cut you free
Out of the drudgery and caves you're stuck in.
So trade that typical for something colorful
And if it's crazy, live a little crazy
You can play it sensible, a king of conventional
Or you can risk it all and see
Don't you wanna get away from the same old part you gotta play
'Cause I got what you need, so come with me and take the ride
It'll take you to the other side
'Cause you can do like you do
Or you can do like me
Stay in the cave, or you'll finally see the light
Oh, damn! Suddenly you're free to fly
It'll take you to the other side.
Kion watched as Makucha walked around the tree to him and circled him. Makucha brushed his tail over Kion's, causing the younger feline to jump in surprise.
"The hell was that for!"
"What! You have a tail, you know sometimes they have minds of their own, but let's not get off topic cub-"
"My name's Kion, and I'm not interested in whatever this freeing experience you're talking about." Kion growled before jumping back in defense trying hard to fight back his winching pain, which got a chuckle from the leopard.
Kion: Okay, ' my friend' , you want to cut me in
Well I hate to tell you, but it just won't happen
So thanks, but no
I think I'm good to go
'Cause I won't help your life you are trapped in
I don't admire you, and this whole life you do
You're onto something, really it's something
But I live among the swells, and I don't pick up banana peels
I'll have to leave that up to you
Don't you know that I hate, this up-pride path I got to play
But I got what I need and I don't want to take the ride
I don't need to see the other side
So go and do like you do
I'm good to do like me
Ain't in a cave, so I don't need to take the deal
Oh, damn! Can't you see I'm doing fine
I don't need to see the other side.
Kion was about done with Makucha's game, and finally found the time to turn around and wanted to be on his way. Suddenly, the leopard jumped in front of him, blocking his way and bringing both felines nose to nose.
Makucha: Now is this really how you like to spend your days?
Brooding and misery, and ruling and pride
Kion: If I were mixed up with you, I'd be the talk of the land
Disgraced and disowned, another one of the clowns.
Makucha scoffed at Kion's words and started to circle him, but Kion felt a strange warmth at his thoughts of being disgraced and disowned from the Pride Lands.
Makucha: But you would finally live a little, finally laugh a little
Just let me give you the freedom to dream
And it'll wake you up and cure your aching
Take your walls and start 'em breaking
Now that's a deal that seems worth taking
But I guess I'll leave that up to you
The leopard's last word brushed warmly against his ear, and Kion felt a swell of emotion build in his cheats. Ignoring the ones about how oddly comforting the closeness of Makucha was, Kion focused on how his anger returned from last night, how he enjoyed the feeling of blood dripping between his claws. He needed a way to release all his anger of life, and after all that okapi made him run last night, maybe Makucha had a point, and so he finally put on a smirk and faced him.
Kion: Well it's intriguing, but to go would cost me greatly
So what percentage of the prey would I be taking?
Makucha: Fair enough, of course your get a piece of all the action,
I'd give you seven, we could shake and make it happen
Kion: I wasn't born this morning, eighteen would be just fine
Makucha: Why not just go ahead and ask the okapi to kindly die!
Kion: Fifteen
Makucha: I'd do eight
Kion: Twelve
Makucha: Maybe nine
Kion: Ten
Both cats were grinding into each other's eyes, their noise touching. Each waiting for the other to break. There was some odd tension Kion felt that was more than just basic excitement of the moment.
Makucha pulled back and smirked, before shaking out his fur. He looked at Kion with a smile that made Kion's heart thump a little faster.
"Keep up, hint. You can't" Like that the leopard was off, Kion knew they had a deal, and chased after him. Kion felt his blood pump with adrenaline, as he slowly caught up to the leopard, where both then exchanged a smirk.
Kion/Makucha: Don't you wanna get away
To a whole new part you're gonna play
Kion: 'Cause I got what you need, so come with me and take the ride
To the other side
Makucha:So if you do like I do
Kion:So if you do like me
Makucha/Kion:Forget the cave, 'cause we know how to find our light
Oh, damn! Suddenly we're free to fly
We're going to the other side
So if you do like I do
(To the other side)
So if you do like me
(We're going to the other side)
'Cause if we do we're going to the other side
We're going to the other side
Come midway into the afternoon, the sun was high and both felines could feel some sweat building under their fur as they hid on top of a cliff overlooking the river that led off into a waterfall.
"Are you sure that okapi is going to stop here?" Kion growled, wiping his forehead with the back of his paw.
"Yep! This is the only safe place for the okapi to get a drink, past this mountain is my territory. Past that is a Back Lands filled with even more danger then he could handle." Makucha said the last part with a little disappointed growl, pecking Kion's interest in the leopard.
"What's beyond this mountain?"
"None of you business cub !" Makucha spat out venomously.
Kion rolled his eyes at Makucha but unnaturally let the moment go instead of poking at it like he would have done with any other animal. Looking over at Makucha, Kion noticed how well-built he was for someone only a little older than him. He looked like a rugged child of Fuli and Mshzuri, but ya know, a leopard.
"So… Do you have pride or something?" Kion asked semi-consciously, keeping his eyes on the river bend for the okapi. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Makucha shrug his broad shoulders.
"We leopards have leaps not prides. Not that I have one of my own anyway." Makucha said quietly, but Kion knew he heard him mutter a "not anymore" but chose to drop the subject yet again.
Why am I being so to him? Maybe Dad would know if he was here. I'm sure he's worried about me. I'm sure the guard is running around being useless. I bet Simba thinks I finally offed myself.
Kion let a smirk grow on his face, I'm sure he'd enjoy that. Kion smirk fell as that thought crossed his mind. Damn it, he would enjoy it! That mean I can't-
"What did I tell y'a Kion!" Kion was brought out of his thoughts as he felt Makucha's wrap one of his legs around Kion, as he pointed towards the riverbend and sure enough there was a brown, white, and black strapped okapi cautiously stepping out into the sun to get a drink of the cool water.
"So what's the plan o'great leopard?"
Makucha shot him a smirk that Kion had to admit was pretty... attractive in the moment, all he did was extract his claws and lightly poked one into Kion's chest.
"YOU, are going to prove how much of a Lion you are and keep him occupied and when he's nice and spooked then I'LL get him from behind."
"You want me to play with his emotions?"
"What? Don't you know fear gets the blood running, and it just makes the meat better! Or are you above hurting someone's feelings?"
Kion pushed his claw away, and gave Makucha his wicked smirk known through the Pride Lands, and placed his claws on the leopard's chest, pretending not to notice the slight blush Makucha grew.
"Ooh, I can do SO much more then make him scared! Watch and learn leopard." Kion's tail rubbed Makucha back much like how he did this morning, before slowly climbing down the cliff watching his self injured shoulder.
Kion watched from the shadows from the trees as Ajabu drank up his last gulps of water. Makucha wanted him to scare the okapi, but Kion was far below simply scaring an animal before going for lunch, he had something more scummy in mind.
"Hey Ajabu! It's been a while hasn't it." Kion shouted casually, opting to use his mocking royalty voice but hid it with a layer of authentic belief in what he was saying. How to fake his feelings was one of the first things he picked up from Taka.
Unsurprisingly, Ajabu was up in a second as his eyes winded with fear, his legs shaking before rendering him unable to run.
"Wh-wh- How did you find me!?" Ajabu stuttered out.
"Honestly, this was all luck. I've been looking for a safe haven all night after some leopard attacked me when I lost you." Kion limped closer to the river bend while keeping some distance from Ajabu who had slowed his shaking form. Getting a few laps of water, Kion could feel Ajabu scared graze on his left, and Makucha watching from above.
"Sorry about last night by the way. It was…. Unruly of the Prince of the Pride Lands to hunt under the influence of my own anger." Kion flipped his ears down to make himself look sorry. He felt the air change as both other animals were hit with the new information of Kion's true title.
"Wait! Your-Your the prince of the Pride Lands! Wh-Whatever are you doing here in the Back Lands!?"
"While last night was a total mistake to be here, once again I shouldn't have chased you down out of anger, and I was just about to head back before I was attacked by a… savage leopard, and while long story short, here I am alive with a new scar to add to the list." Kion proudly showed off the three scaring slashes over his guard mark, motioning for the slowly claiming okapi closer. Kion watched as Ajabu gulped down his fears and slowly walked over, seemingly unaware of the trap that awaited him.
"Wow your majesty, that leopard really did a number on ya? What… happened with the leopard?"
"I fought and well-" Kion keeped his natural smile as he looked over his claws "-there's a reason we lions are royalty." Kion gave Ajabu a kind smile, and knew by the way the okapi shoulders relaxed he was nearing his goal.
"Oooh that's good I guess, I mean there's this one leopard that lived where you chased me though. His names was Makucha if-if you fought him then-"
"I didn't really try to get a name from the leopard that tried to kill me, sorry." Kion said a little dryly.
"It's okay." Ajabu said with a slightly happy smile "I will just believe it was him and move on. Makucha has been after my hind for as long as I can remember. Although-" Ajabu started with a hint of worry in his voice "-why didn't you go back to the Pride Lands and get it looked at."
"Well it's my princely duty to make up for my wrong doings, injuries be damned and so here I am."
"You didn't have to-"
"I have been through worse Ajabu, trust me. So for your forgiveness I offer the one thing I could give." Kion moved forward to Ajabu who moved one leg back out of reflex. Seeing this Kion stopped in front of the okapi.
"I offer you a place in the Pride Lands at my personal request. There you can live under the protection of the… great royal family."
Kion had to resist the urge to gage as he said 'great royal family' but he needed to butter Ajabu up so he held it in. Ajabu himself seemed flabbergasted as the offer before shaking his head to clear it up of his confusion.
"Re-re-really! Your majesty I-"
"Please Ajabu just call me Kion. I didn't invite you for you to be another subject, no I hope if you take my offer to me and you could become friends." Kion watched as Ajabu's eyes light up, and a sick joy filled Kion as he was getting excited to see those lights drain from his eyes.
"Friends? Your majesty I-" Kion held out his paw to stop any more words leave his mouth with a smile on his face, while his tail waved lazyly back and forth hoping Makucha got his signal, before closing in on Ajabu.
"Ajabu, I don't think you quite realize what I'm offering here! So, why don't you just ruminate, while I illuminate the possibilities!"
Kion: Well, King Scar, he had 40 fellow hyenas
And Mufasa had a thousand tales
But, Ajabu, you're in luck because up your hooves
You got a lion that never fails
You got some power in your corner now
Some roaring power in your camp
You got some punch, pizazz, yahoo, and how?
All you gotta do is come to the Pride Lands
And then I'll say
Mister Ajabu sir
And live your wildest dreams,
Just take my paw and trust in me"
You ain't never had a friend like me!
Kion slid into Ajabu's side and flushed his smile up at the okapi who was opening up to Kion, unaware that only a couple feet away a leopard slowly made his way down the cliff.
"So what do you say Ajabu? It really is a one time offer."
"I-I mean I would love to your majes- Kion but-"
"Hay hay! No buts about it! Trust me the Pride Lands is all for someone like you trust me!"
Life is your rest spot there
And I'm your princely pal!
Come, join us under that big old rock.
You ain't never had a friend like me!
We pride ourselves on service
You the boss, not the king, but still!
Say what you wish, it's yours! True dish
Just remember Hakuna Matata!
Explore the rolling plans
Or the sprawling groves!
I'm in the mood to help you, dude
You ain't never had a friend like me!
Kion can't believe he just said that but whatever. Needless to say Ajabu was kinda confused about what he said.
"Hakuna Matata?"
"It means no worries, but trust me that's a whole different song and dance. All you need to know is that I will be honored to be your first friend when you become a Pride Lander! Trust me!"
Kion playfully shoved the okapi a little and began to circle him in a non threading way, to keep Ajabu unaware of Makucha who hid in the shadows.
"I mean after a performance like how could I say no! Honestly Kion after last night I never thought I would be offered a place in the Pride Lands, but are you sure you can just do that?"
Kion once again leaned himself on one of Ajabu's legs, his smile going down to a smirk. "I wouldn't be a prince if I did something without the approval of the king. Besides, who doesn't want a lion as a friend! There is a reason we are feared around other animals."
Ajabu let out a nervous laugh as his body relaxed. "You beat. Gosh after last night I would love it to have you on my side!"
Kion smirk grew more sinister without Ajabu knowledge, "How right you Ajabu. How about I show you just how capable I am at protecting you!"
"Sure, but how-AHH!" Ajabu glee was cut short as he released a sudden shriek of pain as a deep cut appeared on Ajabu's heel, and at the moment Kion swore he heard the okapi heart drop with fear.
"Just like that Ajabu, I can slice anyone who dares to run away from me." Kion made sure to show Ajabu his own blood on his claws, as he kept his kind royal act up with his grin. Kion enjoyed the betrayed look on Ajabu's face.
"Aww cheer up Ajabu! How about I show how else I can protect you?" Kion said in a low sickening voice.
"No-no please. I-I
Can your friends do this?
Ajabu was silenced as Kion swiped his claws on another heel causing another deep cut.
Can your friends do that?
Kion then sliced a line on one of the hind heels but to Kion's dismay Ajabu was still standing, but was wobbling. Ajabu was crying now, and if anything Kion was getting annoyed by the okapi resilients, which chased Kion to look at the last leg standing.
Can your friends break this!?
Kion bit down hard on Ajabu's last working ankle, and that was the fang that broke Ajabu's strength, as he finally fell to the ground.
Finally able to look at each other face to face, Kion lifted Ajabu face with his clawed paw, smirking down at the scared okapi. Kion felt a well of sick joy in him as Ajabu was too scared to speak.
"Aww don't be scared Ajabu, after all friends are supposed to help out each other. It just-" Kion brought a claw to Ajabu check, stabbed it into him before dragging it down slowly. "-I just offered my services to Makucha first." As Ajabu's eyes widened as he realized the trap he just walked into. Makucha's pleased growl echoed off the cliff walls as he approached from behind.
"Kion. Please." Ajabu asked with one final attempt at life. Kion smirk only winded before slamming Ajabu head back onto the dirty.
"He's all yours Makucha!" Kion shouted happily and within seconds the leopard was lunching himself onto the okapi back. Ajabu pained cried were loud in Kion's eyes but the lion was far more interested in how the okapi eyes stayed fixed on him. So Kion tried to offer some comfort in his last moments
So don't sit there buggy-eyed
I'm here to answer all your midday prayers
You got me bona fide, certified
You got a lion for your charge d'affaires
I got a powerful urge so help me out
So what's you say? I really wanna know
Your part of the circle of life, no doubt
You were just dumb to trust me so!
My pathetic Ajabu, sir!
Come on and trust in me.
Well, I hope you had fun, you big nabob
You ain't never had a friend, never had a friend, you ain't
Never had a friend, never had a friend
You ain't never
Had a
Friend
Like
Me!
You ain't never had a friend like me!
"OOOOOhh MAN! I gotta hand it to ya Kion-" Makucha exclaimed happily as he took a another bite of okapi leg, as he and Kion feasted in a cave hidden behind the waterfall made by the river above, "- ididn'tthfinkyouhannditiny'all-!"
"Do you have to talk with your mouth full?" Kion asked smugly as he took another bit of his leg. Makucha smiled with a full mouth, which made Kion roll his eyes. Makucha playfully swallowed his food with a long gulp.
"Oooh I'm sorry your majesty! How dare I, a lowly leopard, disrespect the freakin' prince of the Pride Lands!" Makucha playfully lied down in mock embarrassment. "Please forgive me for my disrespect."
Kion decided to play along as soon as he got wind of the slightly attractive smirk he had back on the cliff. Growling low and stood up tall to make himself more intimidating. "Well, I guess I have to punish you huh?" Kion brought his muzzle to Makucha's, their noises only a few inches away from each other.
"Really?" Makucha challenged the lion by pushing their noses together. Both young felines' faces grew hotter and redder but neither backed down. "I'd like to see you try prince!"
To his surprise, Makucha quickly attacked Kion with a tackle that caused both to roll across the cave floor, where Makucha ended up on top. Kion winced a little as his injured elbow hit the floor a little too hard. Makucha either didn't notice this or didn't care, which Kion kinda liked, Makucha knew he didn't need to be coddled.
Makucha growled close to his ear, and Kion swore he felt Makucha grumble as he did. "That's all you got, prince? Or are you going to show me your 'lion pride'." He purred, his voice steering something in Kion.
Kion smirked and brought his own muzzle to Makuchas ear and said with a similar purr in his voice, "You have no idea."
Using his back paws Kion kicked Makucha in the stomach, and immediately the leopard was off of Kion and on his back. Kion had little time to appreciate his victory as Makucha tackled him once again but Kion fought back this time. Both felines fought for dominance over the other, growling, swiping at each other in this small cave behind the waterfall. If any other animal were to walk in right now there would be very confused to see both a leopard and a lion rolling around play fighting with each other, but at the moment neither Kion and Makucha didn't see it as strange, Kion was having so much fun that his pained arm didn't bother him.
As the two rolled around the cave, the scent of lion and leopard was spread out into the cave. However Kion smelt something stronger than 'just leopard' on Makucha as they rolled around the cave floor. It was heavy and musky and a smell Kion couldn't pinpoint. All he knew was that Makucha's scent was having some weird effect that caused his stomach to feel strange and his heart beat a little faster. Kion should think about why he is feeling strange around the gruff attractive leopard, but he was having too much fun to care.
After who knows how long the felines rolled around the cave, Makucha finally pinned Kion down, both out of breath as they took in the heavy smell that filled the cave. Both held a smug smile on their muzzle as they simply breathed in each other's scent and breaths, looking in each other's eyes.
"See, you can't beat a leopard Kion." Makucha said between breaths. "But I gotta say you gave me quite the run."
"Wow a compliment out of you! If I didn't know better I think you were trying to impress me." Kion purred, poking Makucha in his chest.
"Oh ya? And what if I am?" Makucha's voice grew deeper as he placed a paw on Kion's heart, feeling it beat fast.
Kion's eyes winded as everything clicked. Makucha hospitality, offering a meal to him, and the heavy, musky smell that was all over him, and now all over Kion's body.
Makucha wanted, no need, to feel the love tonight.
Thankfully the leopard must have noticed Kion's shock, and immediately stumbled off the lion. Kion watched in a little awe as Makucha for the first time seemed unsure on what to do next. It was kinda cute to be honest.
Makucha sat with his back to Kion with his tail curled around him. What little light that it made though the waterfall illuminated Makucha's face as he looked down at the ground clearly slightly embarrassed as his face was red.
"Sorry." He said bluntly "-I-I shouldn't have assumed you swung that way." His voice was low, but still held that gruffness to it. Kion approached him slowly.
"Lucky you I do." Kion felt his heart warm up as Makucha's face lit up and looked at him. "But I have to know if the only reason you helped was for a fling."
"That was the goal. Honestly when I found you I thought you were going to be more of a lioness."
"I guess I proved you wrong then huh?" Kion's voice has a bit of playfulness to help smooth the tension. Which was odd, he would have attacked out of rage for someone underestimating him, but he liked Makucha just not like that.
It didn't work as Makucha still seemed tense.
"Hell ya you did! I was impressed the minute you talked back to me! Every lion I ever met was always so irritatingly 'high and mighty' it pisses me off!" Makucha's voice grew a little in volume but still kept his back to Kion. "Then along comes you, talking back to me, challenging me, and you make the okapi believe your friends only to back stab him! To top it all off you're part of the stuffy royal family, yet you act like a dirty bag."
Kion smirked a little. "Like you?"
"Like me ya." Both felines let the sound of the rushing waterfall fill the cave that still stunk of Makucha's need and Kion's growing want was what the second smell in the cave.
"You kinda cool Kion." Makucha said softly, his eyes returning to the floor. "I-I wouldn't say I want to ya know." Kion watched as Makucha blush grew on his face, his eyes shifting to look at Kion, who nodded his head in understandment.
"Doing that with you would be too awkward now that I want to be your….. acquaintance. So I'll just head back to my tree." Makucha finally lifted his who head to look at Kion, he held a weak smile showing Kion a seemingly rare point of honesty from him.
"See ya around Kion." Was all Makucha said before he made his way to a narrow ledge that led out the cave.
Or at least that's what Makucha was going to do before he felt a pair of teeth clamp down on the back scruff of his neck just hard enough to grab him and not draw blood. Makucha was pushed backwards and before he knew it he and Kion were rolling backwards deep into the cave.
When both felines stopped rolling, Kion was once again pinned under Makucha, but this time at his own choice.
"You kinda cool too Makucha." Kion said lowly, his smart ass smirk gave off a much different effect on Makucha, it didn't help that Kion's slightly lidded eyes were making it hard for Makucha to control himself as the cave grew slightly hotter.
"I'll admit I found you a little good looking when I first met you, and it was nice to talk to someone who wasn't up their ass. You gave me a chance to let my aggression out and drop the depressed prince act. So I guess it is my princely duty to help you in return." Kion boldly touched his nose to Makucha, before giving the leopard a long, slow lick on the side of his neck. Kion pulled back to study Makucha's face as it slowly gained back that attractive grin that caused so many feelings in Kion's stomach.
"You sure about this Kion?" Makucha asked with a seductive purr as he leaned closer to Kion's neck. "I've been holding out for so long, I can't promise I'll be able to stop if you continue." Makucha playfully licked Kion's neck, slowly making his way up his check and to the corner of Kion's mouth. With each lick Kion would squirm after each lick, letting out purrs of delight as he did.
"Is that a yes lion?" Makucha's voice low and grumbly, his breath hot against Kion's ear.
Kion spent a few seconds too really think about this. He liked the feeling of Makucha's strong paws over him, he liked it even more when his tongue was rubbing against his fur. Still, he was the leader of the Lion Guard, it would be dishonorable if he was to have a one night stand with anyone. Especially with a lowly Back Lander like Makucha. What would the Pride Lands think if word got out? What would his guard mates think? How about Mshzuri? How about Simba.
What would Taka think?
"Kion?" Makucha's voice brought him back to the moment, who looked slightly concerned. It was at this moment Kion knew his answer.
Who fucking cares, what happen next will be his choice, and his choice alone and he'll deal with the consequences.
"Think you can make my first memorable Makucha?" Kion challenged as Makucha grin returned much to Kion's delight.
Makucha brought their noses together, both gazing into each other's eyes basking in the moment.
"You on Kion." Was the last thing Makucha growled before the lips of a leopard met the lips of a lion, and with nothing more both felines went on to enjoy their music of the night.
It's me again, and things got a little heated! So long story short on my absence is that honestly I had and idea of where I wanted to take this story, but to do that I had to really think on how Kion is going to develop from here on out, as the type of character he is now, at least too me, requires a lot more effort to keep him still the protagonist and not a pure antagonist. So I really wanted to do resource on how to keep this poor lion on that line and do it well. (Not to mention also personal stuff and lack of honest interest) but I'm back now!
So here's hoping not another two years come by for the next chapter, and of course plz review.
