Hi all,

Another chapter down, and I have officially reached 100k! Well, probably not. It is probably a bit less with all my author's notes. I will celebrate next time. But I have surpassed 500 favourites and 680 followers, so thanks to everyone for the support.

I have not responded to many reviews in the last two days because I have been having trouble accessing the website. I got stuck on the security bot screen and couldn't get through. Has anyone else had any issues, or is it on my end? It was a real effort to get through to upload this chapter.

I have moved my shout-outs for my patrons to my profile page to reduce my author's notes a little. Thanks for all the support.

Chapter 19

July 22nd

Lucas watched Poliwraith train Dante in the basics of martial arts. He had considered training his partner himself but recognised that he was still a newbie to the discipline. Not to mention that he had lost a lot of progress while on the island.

Dante was learning a basic movement technique focused on evading attacks and keeping his distance from opponents. It was like an intricate dance that took time and effort to learn. He could feel his partner's frustration as he constantly tripped over, his short and stick-like legs hindering his movements.

"Don't mind, Dante. Keep it up," Lucas called. It was another problem that had him concerned. Dante had maxed out the progression with the skills he had already learnt and would have to wait until he levelled up some more or purchased more technical machines.

Lucas did not like this aspect of the 'System.' He would rather train his Pokemon the steps to learning a Move than rely on gaining experience.

Unlike his Pokemon, the rest could learn Moves at any level by working hard and comprehending type energy. The simple solution to this problem was to over-level his Pokemon so it didn't become an issue. However, the Junior Championship had a restriction that Pokemon couldn't surpass level thirty.

While he constructed his suggestion, he also considered a few minor changes to the User Interface regarding the Pokemon parameters. The proposal was more than a few lines, so he wrote it down on paper and hoped Arceus didn't mind the minor change.

'Prayer.'

Lucas placed the paper in front of him and genuflected on his knees.

Arceus has heard your Prayer.

The paper disappeared, and Lucas sighed with relief.

"What are you doing?"

Lucas shrieked. He turned to his sister, who had crept up on him and looked at him with a judgemental gaze.

"Don't scare me like that," Lucas complained.

"How could you hear me when you were too busy being silly? What were you doing?"

Lucas reached out and pulled her to the ground. "I was giving thanks to God. Praise be to Arceus."

"Have you feeling alright?" Abigail asked, placing a hand on his forehead.

"Come and bow to the God Arceus. Join me in rapture." Lucas raised his hands to the air in supplication.

Sophia came across the unusual sight of Lucas, Abigail and Maximus genuflecting in the backyard. At some point, the Pokemon joined in on the fun.

"What is going on here?"

"Mother, I have joined the Arceus cult," Abigail cheered, running up to her.

"Don't call it a cult, brat," Lucas shouted. "It's a religion."

Sophia shook her head at her son's silliness. "Don't lead your sister astray. If you want to become a cult leader, then don't involve Abigail."

Lucas hummed. "A cult leader? Not a bad idea. I could have a harem of beautiful girls."

"What was that?" Faith asked, showing up at the worst possible time.

"I was joking," Lucas waved his hands. "You're the only one for me."

"Idiot," Faith walked past him.

{Friendly Narrator} 'Hey, that's not a bad idea.'

"Oh, it's you," Lucas sighed. "What's not a bad idea? A harem?"

{Friendly Narrator} 'No, you moron. A religion based around Arceus. I find it funny that there is no organised religion in the world. Let's change it, so people can start worshipping him as a God.'

"I love Arceus," Lucas replied. "But I'm an atheist, and I have too many things on my plate to convert everyone to a new religion."

{Friendly Narrator} 'I thought you would say that. Don't worry; I have someone else in mind.

Lucas suddenly felt ominous when Max quietened and looked like he was listening to something.

July 24th

Lucas crushed the ingredients with the pestle and combined the ingredients together. He placed the mixture onto the table and began rolling it into a ball. It was the twenty-third attempt at creating a new incense, and he got closer to a result with every failure. Hopefully, this would be the last before he successfully completed the recipe.

Lucas stole a peek at Faith, who was busily creating the incense they would sell at the market tomorrow. It would be a Saturday, the busiest day of the week, so he would get plenty of interested customers.

He paid Faith five Pokedollars for every incense, which she argued was too much. Lucas reminded her that making money was not the goal but a ploy to garner attention from big companies. Besides, if he sold them for twenty Pokedollars, he would still make a small profit.

Faith needed the money anyway since she now had a Tangela, although grass-type Pokemon were one of the easiest to feed. But if she wanted to build a strong Tangela, she had to give the Pokemon the proper nutrition.

Lucas set aside the incense to dry and wiped his hands. He stepped around Tangela, who was watching Faith work. The Pokemon had taken a liking to the shed and spent a lot of time there.

Lucas peeked over Faith's shoulder and watched her work. "How many have you got left to do?"

"Seven," Faith replied. "The heater you installed means they will all be ready for tomorrow."

"Cool," Lucas placed a kiss on her cheek. "I'm going to ask Mr Mime to prepare some lunch. Anything you want in particular?"

"Anything is fine," Faith reached up and brushed a stray hair out of her eyes. "I'm nearly done."

Lucas tugged her braid in acknowledgement before leaving the shed. He walked towards the mansion but paused when he spotted a sports car driving up the driveway. Curious, since he hadn't seen the car before, he altered course and headed for the front entrance.

A man stepped out of the car, and Lucas recognised the man instantly. He had seen the man's picture on the orphanage website with the same smarmy expression—the Director of New Hope Orphanage, Ethan Kline.

Lucas eyed the man with dislike. The man was a thief, and it seemed he didn't waste time spending the money meant for the orphans. Kline dressed in a flashy white suit with gold tassels and a pink shirt underneath. The final touch was a white bowler hat that was perched on his head. It looked like the man was trying to look dapper but only ended up looking sleazy.

The man stopped next to Vincent and spoke to him as Lucas approached.

"I'm here to pick up Faith Harper," Ethan said. "She had been gone from the orphanage long enough."

"Have you solved the media problem," Vincent asked, folding his arms and looking at him like he was an insect.

"There's a simple solution," Ethan smiled. "She can do a media interview, denying that she is in a relationship with Mr Walker." He turned as Lucas stopped in front of them.

"But that would be a lie," Lucas said, getting up in the man's face. "Why do you care so much about Faith, anyway? She will be an adult soon. Or maybe you want to make another indecent offer for her to share your bed before she is out of your grasp."

"What?!" Vincent exclaimed, glaring at the man.

"Faith has been telling lies about me," Kline sighed sadly. "Unfortunately, she is a very promiscuous girl who got involved with some of the other male orphans, which is why I separated her from the main house."

"You're a lying sack of shit," Lucas snorted. "You separated them when things turned violent after you revealed that the thirteen orphans were children of Team Galaxy members."

Vincent looked astonished for a moment before turning to look at Lucas. "Children of Team Galaxy members. Is this true?"

Lucas eyed Vincent, surprised by his reaction. "Don't tell me your prejudice against them as well."

Vincent shook his head, a strange light in his eye. "Of course not. I wonder why my friend in law enforcement never told me."

Lucas turned back to Kline. "The most egregious thing you have done is stealing money from the orphans when the old lady left it to them in her will. It seems you have already spent some of it," Lucas sneered, looking him up and down. "No, many how many times you polish a turd, it remains a turd."

"How dare you," Kline exploded. "These baseless accusations are absurd. I'm Faith Harper's guardian, and she has to come with me now. She has been disobedient as of late. First, she enrolled herself in the Pokemon Camp without my permission. Well, she certainly won't be returning to it next week. Now, get her before I call the police."

"Go ahead," Vincent said. "I have plenty of friends in law enforcement. I'm sure they would love to hear some accusations levied against you. They may open an investigation into the Orphanage."

The mad reddened, looking like he was going to expire from rage. "You don't know who you are messing with, bastards. I have friends in high places."

"You mean the mayor?" Lucas laughed. "My granddad is the Minister of Defence and close friends with the Prime Minister. Do your worse."

The man took off his hat and twisted it in frustration. "I expect Faith to be home by Monday, or there will be consequences," he bit out before turning around and storming off to his car.

Lucas remembered he had a quest related to the Orphanage. Well, it had shot up to the front of the list of his priorities after meeting the unpleasant man.

"This is too big for us alone," Vincent said. "We need to get your parents involved."

Lucas shook his head and turned back to look at the garden shed. "Give me a day to figure out a plan for myself. We will go to them if I cannot come up with something."

"Are you crazy?" Vincent said. "Why do you want to solve this on your own?"

"Think of how grateful Faith will be if I take down the Director," Lucas smirked.

"She will punch you if you don't tell her about the Director visiting."

Lucas paused. Vincent was right. As much as he wanted to protect Faith, she would not be grateful if he kept her in the dark.

"Just keep it quiet for a day, okay?" Lucas asked, turning back to the shed. "I got to tell Faith, and maybe we can devise a plan together."

{0(((..)))0}

Faith didn't take the news very well. They returned to his room and were now trying to think of a plan to expose the Director.

Lucas watched as she paced, running her hands through her hair in agitation. He didn't like seeing her like this, with the familiar scowl on her face from when he first met her.

"I should return to the orphanage," Faith said, stopping in front of Lucas.

Lucas ran his hands down her arms before grasping her hands. "Why? Because he will make trouble? He can do nothing to you with my family's backing."

"You don't understand," Faith sat down next to him. "If I don't fall in line, he will take it out on the other kids. If he doesn't get me, he probably will go after Zoey next."

"Zoey?" Lucas asked before he remembered. "You mean your second in command? Orange-haired girl with glasses and a lot of attitude? She is even less likely to fall to a predator like Kline."

"It's not a risk I'm willing to take."

Lucas played with her fingers as he mulled over the problem. They had until Monday to find evidence of Kline's crimes before the man retaliated with his threats. While he would like to think the man had been cowed by mentioning his grandad, he wouldn't underestimate him and put Faith or the other orphans at risk.

"Does he sleep at the Orphanage? Or does he have a house he returns to?" Lucas asked.

"He leaves the Orphanage about six in the evening," Faith replied.

"We need to find evidence," Lucas mused. "Where is his office at the Orphanage? Would he keep anything incriminating there? Or will he keep it at home?"

"His office would be the easiest place to look first," Faith said. "But it's too risky. His office is secure."

"Does he have any Pokemon?"

"Only a Raticate," Faith shuddered at the mention of the Pokemon. "He usually keeps it with him. I wouldn't be surprised if a person's personality affects the Pokemon over the bond because I swear Raticate is as evil as Kline. It always looks at me like it's looking at its next meal."

It was a valid question. So far, Dante was becoming more independent as time passes. He wouldn't say that he had any influence on the Pokemon's personality. Max was still timid from his experiences on the island, so he had yet to display much personality.

Maybe the simple answer was that, just like people, there were malicious Pokemon. However, painting them in the same light as humans seemed wrong without evidence to prove otherwise. Yes, Red Energy made them violent and unpredictable, but could you really blame that on them?

It could be because of the split from Balanced Aura that happened so long ago. Maybe both species lost more than he first imagined. Take Pokemon communication as an example. Every Pokemon outside of bonded and psychic-type could not communicate with each other. Was that a result of the break?

However, Pokemon could learn to read and write, so there were always ways for Pokemon to communicate. Dante had finished learning himself when Lucas was gone and was already at Abigail's level in reading comprehension. Lucas had asked Dante to teach Max as a way for them to get closer to each other, and it was working so far.

Lucas shook his head to dismiss his wandering thoughts and focused back on the task. "I think I'm going to break into the Orphanage tonight. Can you draw me a map?"

"What?!" Faith exclaimed. "Are you crazy? You are going to get caught."

Lucas lifted her hand and kissed her palm, and she shivered. "Trust me. I have highly developed breaking-in skills. Even if I get noticed, I can escape easily enough."

Faith raised an eyebrow. "Is there something you're not telling me? Do you break into a lot of houses?"

Lucas stared at her seriously. "I don't give up my secrets that easily. Maybe I can be persuaded with some kisses?"

Faith rolled her eyes. "I think you're full of shit. How are you going to leave the house with security around?"

"It won't be a problem at all," Lucas said confidently.

{0(((..)))0}

Lucas grabbed onto the top of the wall and hoisted himself until he sat on the top with his feet dangling on the other side. The ability - Jumping Jack - he got from the Fitness Guru Skill came in handy. If there had been Olympics in this world, he was sure he would dominate track and field.

With his Aura Sense, he could see a security guard and a Pokemon to his right, about ten metres away, heading away from his location. To his left, there was another pair about fifteen metres out and coming closer.

Lucas jumped down silently, landing like a cat and using Dash to sprint forward, hoping the darkness concealed him enough from the Pokemon's sharp senses. His current Aura capacity was four hundred, so he could use the skill for just over three minutes; he didn't imagine he needed more than half of that to leave the gated community.

He encountered three more patrols before he reached the outer wall, but he almost got caught at the entrance, where a security building and a barrier existed. Lucas heard a Pokemon canine barking behind him as he scrambled over the wall, and the commotion as it alerted security. Floodlights illuminated the area, but luckily Lucas had dashed beyond their range before he was spotted.

Forty minutes later, he stood outside the main building housing most orphans. Security was a lot laxer here, as who would steal from an Orphanage? A pair of security guards patrolled the grounds, but they didn't have any Pokemon with them, so they were easily avoided.

Lucas took out the map Faith had drawn him from his inventory and rechecked to ensure he was in the correct position. It was on the top floor, and usually, he would have to navigate the first three floors to gain access. However, why not just access the office from the outside?

First, Lucas found an isolated place and Meditated. It would be prudent to have his Aura maxed out in case of an emergency.

Standing on the west side of the building, Lucas looked up and traced a route with his eyes. There was a drainage pipe in the corner, so the first part of his climb would be a piece of cake. Then he had to jump across two gaps to reach the office window.

Before climbing, Lucas tested the drainpipe to ensure it would take his weight. He grabbed onto the pipe and utilised the cracks in the brick exterior to secure his feet before beginning his climb. Making quick work of the ascent, he now faced the most challenging part of the climb. It wasn't a huge jump, but it would be awkward. He had no secure way of launching himself across the gap, so there was the potential for him to slip.

Lucas considered using Telekinesis to levitate himself over the gap, but then he reconsidered. Although he could easily lift his weight, he had never tried it on himself, which was a significant oversight and a great idea. However, it would be expensive as it required more control to levitate his own body.

Eventually, he committed to the jump and launched himself across the gap. He cleared it easily and quickly gripped the wall to stop his momentum from tipping him off the ledge. Lucas jumped the next gap and grabbed onto the window edge to secure himself. He was facing the window, which revealed a large office on the other side.

It was time to utilise the new ability he gained when he levelled his Telekinesis to level fifteen.

[Telekinesis 1] (Active) [Lv:15] (Next:3%) [Cost: Variable]

Description: The player possessed the power of Telekinesis, enabling him to move and manipulate massive objects and matter with his mind.

Aura Density +14%

Total Lifting Weight: 750 kg

Range: 150 metres

Manipulate objects through solid walls

It was undoubtedly valuable in situations where he could see into the room. Maybe there was a skill for that? He looked at the window carefully, worried that the man had an alarm system set to the windows, but it was unlikely. Even if he set off an alarm, he could jump down with his Armament skill protecting his fall and quickly escape the grounds.

Using Telekinesis, he manipulated the lock on the other side until it clicked. He pushed the window inside and climbed into the office. Lucas quickly moved towards the door, but there was no alarm system. The man was too cheap to spend on security and relied on a thick wooden door and heavy-duty locks.

Lucas turned back to the room and scanned the room. He considered searching the computer but didn't think he could manage the password. Where would he hide evidence?

He began searching the office, using his heightened Sight to its full capabilities. If Kline wanted to hide evidence, he would try to hide it well.

Thirty minutes later, he was about to tear his hair out in frustration as he had yet to find any secret compartments. He sat down on the office chair, idly spinning around as he thought of his next Move. It felt like he had searched every inch of the office. Was there nothing here? Maybe he kept the evidence at his house?

Lucas slammed his fist into the chair in frustration. He paused as he felt something off with the seat cushion. Standing up, he pressed down as hard as possible on the cushion and felt a hardness in the centre. Flipping the chair onto its side, he began removing the buckles holding the cushion in place.

He ripped the seat cover off and tore at the foam underneath until he discovered a wooden compartment. Removing the lid, he found a small leather diary and a slim folder.

Lucas opened the diary to a random page and began reading.

August 1997

The orphans from the Sinnoh region are strutting around like they own the place. How dare they go on as if they were nothing but innocent kids when their parents were monsters? Because of them, I lost my daughter. How did my sweet Laura become a member of a criminal organisation? What drove her to commit such heinous crimes?

Why do I have to put up with those devil spawns in my Orphanage? No, I won't have it. They have to be punished. I am the arbiter of justice. Laura, are you watching from up there? See how I make them suffer for their sins.

Lucas shook his head in disgust. Whilst the man's story was undoubtedly sad, that gave him no reason to treat the orphans like he did. The man sounded like he was losing his mind, so the sooner he was off the streets, the better.

He closed the diary and opened the folder. The first page was a statement from Kanto Trust, the organisation responsible for distributing the estate of Gloria Wyndham. Incredibly, it was for a sum of two million Pokedollars to be split between the thirteen orphans. After administrative fees, they would each receive one hundred and fifty thousand to give them financial security.

But they did not hold the money in trust for the orphans but deposited it into Ethan Kline's account. He flipped through the folder more and discovered evidence of a collaboration between Kline and a Kanto Trust senior staff member.

This was the smoking gun. Lucas placed the two items in his inventory and restored the chair to its previous state. It was a little ragged, but he wasn't too worried.

Walking over to the window, he climbed out, stood on the edge, and carefully closed the window. Lucas looked down to ensure the coast was clear before retracing his steps to the drainpipe. He shimmied down and soon was back on solid ground.

Time to go home and tell Faith the good news.

July 25th

The market square in the shopping district was a weekly event that had existed since the town's founding, and it never missed a weekend. Locals gathered to sell or trade their wares while the population descended in mass.

Lucas has hired a small stall to sell his incense. Abigail had created the sign, which looked fantastic in his unbiased opinion. Faith had helped set up the stall and would help sell the incense. Their three Pokemon sat at the back, watching the hustle and bustle with interest. Max was peeking over the counter with a cautious eye, but at least he made an effort.

"Are we ready," Lucas asked Faith.

She looked around and shrugged. "I guess so. It's not like we have much to set up. It's only one product."

"Alright, I will take the first hour," Lucas said. "You keep the Pokemon entertained. Especially Tangela, she is likely to go molest the nearest female."

"She is not a pervert," Faith argued. "That is just your hentai brain thinking wicked thoughts."

"Did Tangela not assault mother by grabbing her breasts when they first met," Lucas asked mockingly.

Faith flushed and looked away. "You imagine things. Pokemon don't even have a sex drive. Your thinking is twisted."

Lucas pointed at Tangela, who was running towards a woman operating a stall a dozen metres away. "Really?"

"Tangela," Faith shouted, running after the mischievous Pokemon.

{Dante} 'Why am I surrounded by weirdos?'

{Maximus) You're the leader of the weirdos, though?

{Dante] 'You sure have grown confident in your smart-ass responses. Aren't you afraid I will teach you a lesson?'

{Maximus} 'Daddy will protect me.'

Lucas rolled his eyes. He was too young to be a father. Well, technically, that wasn't true.

Faith returned with a wriggling Tangela, and she sat in the chair in the back. "So, how long will it take for the story to be released on the news?"

"Tonight, hopefully. If not, then tomorrow morning. It's explosive news, so I imagine they are working overtime to get a prime spot."

Lucas had gone to his parents with the evidence, and they had passed it on to Henry at the Pallet Town Tribune. According to his mother's publicist, it was the same reporter that was at his interview and one he could trust. Since Kline was buddies with the mayor, then there might be spies within the newspaper that would stop the story from running. Henry was a senior reporter with a lot of influence, so he would see that the story ran.

It wasn't just a newspaper but a news station with a television segment that aired three times a day. Hopefully, when they watched the news tonight, it would soon lead to the downfall of the Director.

Lucas watched as the crowd grew as the morning passed. They had set up early, just past dawn, so they expected to see many people until mid-morning.

Finally, they got their first interested customer a few hours later. It was a man in his twenties, dressed in overalls and gumboots, looking like he had just come from the farm.

"They are some pretty interesting claims you make," the man said, pointing at the sign. "How do we know if the incense works?"

"Do you have a Pokemon who needs to learn some grass-type Moves?" Lucas asked. "How about you try it for free and only pay if it's effective?"

The man thought about it for a second. "It won't harm my Pokemon?"

"I guarantee it. It's made from all-natural ingredients. I have already used it on my Ralts here," Lucas pointed to his partner.

The man nodded and released a Grotle, who let out a yawn before lying on the ground lazily.

Faith almost climbed over the counter to greet the Pokemon. "A Grotle. I'm so jealous."

The man scratched his head in confusion, bewildered by the girl's enthusiasm. "I got him to help on the farm, but he has difficulty learning anything beyond the weakest Grass-type moves. He also serves as a protection as well, but he can only do so much with a low aptitude for sensing grass energy."

Lucas brought out a folded wooden contraption to create a barrier around the Pokemon. He set the wall around the Grotle and placed the incense down. He lit the incense and stepped back out of range.

"Remember, this only enhances the Pokemon's natural aptitude to sense grass-type energy by at least thirty per cent. Grotle should be able to tell you if it's having an effect almost straightaway."

The man nodded and crouched down to avoid the incense smoke escaping the top of the wall. A few minutes later, the man's eyes lit up, and he turned his head to Lucas. "Grotle tells me it's working. He can sense more grass-type energy."

"He may as well stay there for the two hours to get the full benefits," Lucas suddenly had an idea. "Tell you what, since you have to wait, why don't you go around the market and promote the product? Not only will the incense you used be free, but I will give you another three for your efforts."

The man's eyes widened before rapidly nodding his head. "You got yourself a deal." He turned and communicated silently with Grotle before trotting off to promote the incense.

Over the next few hours, the stall started gathering more interest. The sales climbed, and Lucas and Faith were soon busy taking orders. Dante, the oldest and the leader of his party, kept an eye out for the Baby Pokemon.

At two in the afternoon, they had sold over six hundred incense. Word of mouth travelled fast, so people kept coming to the store in droves. Lucas could have sold out by now because a man in a business suit had offered to buy out his stock. But Lucas refused, ultimately limiting the purchases to five per customer. He reckoned that the more people who brought the incense would be more beneficial in the long run.

Finally, after an exhausting day, they had sold out just before five in the evening. Lucas and Faith packed up their stall and left it there for the servants from the mansion to transport back to the mansion.

"I have sorely used you." Lucas apologised, then winced at his choice of words. "What I mean is, let me take you somewhere to get some dinner."

"Sure, why not," Faith shrugged.

{0(((..)))0}

"Is the popcorn not ready yet?" Lucas complained. "The news is almost on."

"You just came home from dinner," Sophia poked him in the shoulder.

"Yes, but you need popcorn when watching a show."

Faith sat on his other side. She grabbed his hand nervously. "Do you think it will work?"

"Of course," Lucas squeezed her hand before turning his attention to the television as the news started.

"Welcome to the six o'clock news. "I am your news anchor, Sydney Price, and joining me is my co-anchor, Bruce Jenkins. Our top story tonight is an incredible story of corruption and thievery at the New Hope Orphanage..."

"Everyone in Kanto will know about us by tomorrow," Faith commented.

"Have some faith in people. No pun intended," Lucas smirked. "They will not care too much about your origins. There will be a few outliers, but they don't matter."

"Are the police on standby to arrest Kline?" David asked.

"Yes," Vincent replied. "But he is going to lawyer up pretty quickly. However, he will not keep his job while the investigation continues."

"If someone had bothered to tell us the problem," Sophia said, glaring at her son. "It would be a lot easier without going off and getting the information illegally. Why do you have to take on everything by yourself? It's like you have a hero complex. Or a death wish. What if they had caught you?"

"You're not convincing us of your maturity," David added. "What makes you think you are ready to join the Pokemon Circuit? You can't go off half-cocked every time to rescue someone in distress."

Were they right? Did he have a hero complex? It was not a characteristic he considered himself to have in his old life. So what had changed? Did the old Lucas influence his decisions? Or did it have something to do with the 'System?' Was he being influenced by Arceus for a specific reason? It would be easy to control him with the quest's function. Giving him a few rewards ensured he wouldn't question it too closely. It was something to think about later.

"You may be right," Lucas said. "Maybe I have a hero complex. But I want to ask you this. Why hadn't something like this come to light before? Are there no checks and balances to stop others from abusing power like Kline? Why did it take a teenager to expose his crimes?."

Nobody had a response to that. They returned their attention to the news, where they were reading snippets from the diary and exposing Kline's horrible thoughts to the world.

"The media are going to descend on the Orphanage with a frenzy," Faith worried her lip in anxiety.

"The police are on standby to protect the Orphanage in the short term," Vincent reassured her.

"We will go see them tomorrow," Lucas said.

Lucas sat back, put his arm around Faith's shoulders, and watched the unfolding drama. A few disquieting thoughts prevented him from truly enjoying the show.

July 27th

"So we are here again," Lucas said, looking outside at the Pokemon Camp. He could tell right away that it was more occupied than last time, with many cars lined up outside and several Rangers patrolling outside the walls.

"Hopefully, it will be less dramatic than last time," Jason smirked.

"I don't think we have to worry about anything," Faith said.

Lucas got off the bus and smiled. He, too, felt that everything would be okay this time. Now, he could concentrate on nabbing himself a Charmander.

So what do you think? I'm going to stop myself from estimating the chapter where Lucas finally starts his journey cause it probably will end up being a lie. We will get there eventually.

Cheers.
