THE HOUSE

Once Taiyang parked the car in front of the house he saw Summer waiting on the porch the girls all got out happily and rushed to her. Taiyang was glad that despite everything, Charlie was still a relatively happy girl. Summer let the girls inside while Taiyang got out to go inside himself. Once he made it to the door he stopped and looked to the forest nearby. He narrowed his eyes as he scanned the tree line. He saw nothing but he wasn't convinced. That's when he noticed a raven perched up on a branch. When he looked at it, it flew off.

He sighs before going inside putting on a small smile. The girls were all in the kitchen with Summer. As he approached he spoke up. "Alright girls. You know the drill." He says. The three had recollection on their faces. Ruby and Charlie immediately got into the backpacks grabbing their report cards. Yang however was much slower to do that. Ruby was first to pull out her report card as she ran over to Taiyang in excitement practically shoving her grades to him. Summer and him laugh at her surprising energy. He grabs the paper and inspects it. Ruby was great at most subjects though her language arts and history were usually the ones to falter on occasion. Mathematics on the other hand he'd never seen lower than a B.

"Hey! You finally got your grade in history up!" He cheers. "Good job Rose Petal!" He gave her a high five and she started giggling. "Charlotte?" She gave him her grades. Straight A's... again. "Nice job as always Charlotte." He gave her a fist bump and she smiles. Then he turned his head to Yang who had a major grimace on her face. "Based on your expression I can expect yours aren't too great." He says bluntly. She hands him her grades and he understood why she was grimacing. Her grades were mostly B's and C's except for P.E which was and A, and Math which currently sat at an F. He sighs. "Yang you have two sisters that are way above their classes in Math skills." He explains calmly. "I'm sure they wouldn't mind helping you out if you asked."

"I can help!" Ruby offers immediately earning a surprised laugh from Taiyang. She sometimes caught him off guard during a serious conversation with her desire to help others. He wished he wasn't so easy to make laugh sometimes. It was hard to keep a straight face when he had to talk with any of the girls when they were in trouble. Mostly Yang. They often said things that he couldn't help but laugh to.

He was quick to compose himself and he saw that Yang had relaxed a bit knowing that he was still in a pretty decent mood. Charlotte looked over to Yang with a smile. "If you need help Yang you just have to ask." She says.

"Thanks." Yang says with a frown. She then returns her gaze to Taiyang. "Sorry Dad." She apologizes.

Taiyang shrugs. "It's alright, you have plenty of time to get your grade back up before the end of the year." He says before kneeling to her level and placing a hand on her shoulder supportively. "I know you can do this Yang. Your my Sunny Little Dragon. All you have to do try."

She smiles with her spirits lifted up. "Thanks dad."

"Your welcome." He says before getting up. "Alright girls, go do your homework."

The three rush out of the room as he heard Ruby say. "Come on Yang! We can help you with math!" Taiyang chuckles before turning to his wife who was walking over to him with a loving smile.

"That went well." She comments. Taiyang smirks to her as he pulls her in for a hug causing a slight gasp of surprise before she began giggling. "Mr. Xiao Long!" She says in playful tone.

"What?" He says innocently. "I just wanted a hug from my lovely wife." Summer giggles to that response before kissing him lovingly. "Score!" He exclaims causing her to giggle some more. After a moment her look turned into a worried expression. "Hey what's up Sum?"

She sighs. "I have to go on a mission." She says.

"Is it from Ozpin?" He asks carefully with a raised brow.

"No." She says. "It's..." She hesitated. "Henry left me a message. I hadn't read it till today. Apparently he wanted me to find and burn all of his notes and blueprints if he died."

"Oh." He starts. "I assume your going now."

"Yeah." She says. "His house is Grimm Territory now so I don't know how late I'll be."

"That's fine." Taiyang says with a casual smile. "Just keep me posted, and if you need help give me a call."

She smiles before giving him a second kiss. "I'll see you when I get home." With those words Summer made her way to the door while Taiyang went to keep an eye on the kids. Once outside she glances at the car before shaking her head to herself. Henry's house wasn't too far. She would just walk. Before she did though she reached behind her to pull out her weapon. One of them anyways. The one she had with her was created by Henry. It was a glaive that also functions as a sniper rifle. She found herself using it more often as of late. More so than her own weapon which was siting in the closet in her and Taiyang's room. With a sigh she unfolds the weapon and begins her walk to Henry's house.

The walk to Henry's house was uneventful much to the growing concern of Summer. That usually meant one of two things. One the had chased after a large Source of negativity, or they had been cleared by someone. When she finally came into view of Henry's house she got her answer.

There she saw a woman named Raven standing on the pathway to Henry's house. Raven Branwen was once a member of Team STRQ, and Qrow Branwen's twin sister. She was also Yang's biological mother. "I was wondering why I didn't see any Grimm." Summer says. Summer had noticed that Raven jumped slightly at her voice. Raven turned to her mildly glaring at her with her piercing red eyes. She had long wild black hair and wore a V neck black and red wrap style top with a black pleated skirt that has black shorts underneath. She also had a series of beaded necklaces. What Summer found odd though was that Raven was not wearing her usual Grimm style mask.

"What are you doing here?" Raven asks calmly.

"Mission." Summer says simply. "You?"

"Just visiting." Raven responds vaguely. Raven turns to walk away, but stops. "The air is different." She says. "Something is happening. I don't know what, but something bad is going to happen soon."

"What do you mean?" Summer asks in concern.

"I told you I don't know." Raven says. "But I intend to find out." Without another word Raven unsheathes a large blade and slashes the air leaving a red and black portal before waking in.

Summer sighs for what felt like the hundredth time that day. She glances back to the house and nods to herself. When she got to the door she tried the handle only to find that the door was opened. She let go of the door and patted her pocket. The fire dust she had brought was still there. She then lifted her weapon into both hands in a fighting stance before kicking the door open. Once inside she began glancing around. The atmosphere was vary different. It was almost like she could feel the agony of Henry's tragedy in the air. She quickly made her way to Henry's work space which was literally just his garage. Carefully checking her corners as she enters she quickly spots his collection of note and blueprints.

She wasn't sure but she couldn't help but remembering the stack being bigger when she last saw it. She shoved that thought to the side before looking over to two large jars of fire dust which Henry had apparently stored in the garage. She wouldn't complain about that though. It just made the next step easier. Summer then opened the garage with a bit of effort before grabbing Henry's documents and walking outside with them. She set them down on the dirt path and dropped the fire dust crystal she'd brought with her onto the before activating it with her aura causing the crystal to shatter and turn into a fire.

Once the documents were burned she looked to the house with a grimace. There were so many memories she had in that house. Team STRQ all having a drink in the living room with Henry. The time Qrow fell down the stairs after misjudging a step. Even a time where Henry and Taiyang had tried to see who could keep an entire spoonful of salt in their mouth the longest. She even remembered seeing Charlie running around the house when she was younger.

It was enough to make tears fall from Summer's eyes. Despite that she lifted up her weapon aiming the barrel at the jugs of Fire Dust. With a shot the jugs exploded violently setting the house ablaze. She then stood there and waited. Watching the house burn as Henry wanted. When it was all said and done all that remained of the house was charred up rubble and two walls which had mostly survived the fire. With the job done she waited a roughly a half hour to make sure nothing come crawling out from the rubble as Henry wanted before finally heading home.
