Chapter 2
The New Keyblade Wielders
This was not how Molly and Libby thought they would spend their day! They got attacked by shadow creatures called, Heartless, they met a cat-like creature named, Chirithy, and they were now searching for a man named, Yen Sid to help them defend themselves against said Heartless. As they got closer to the Mysterious Tower, Molly and Libby began to realize how tall the tower really was.
The girls stared in awe as they noticed that the tower was so tall, it reached up to the skies. They knew that it was going to take awhile for them to reach the top.
"I don't know about this, Molly! It seems that this is going to be a long climb to the top!" Libby pointed out.
"It does look that way!" Molly said as she was still surprised by how tall the tower was. "We don't have to worry though! As long as we stick together, we can get through anything!"
Right as Molly was about to reach the front door of the tower, a Heartless suddenly appeared right in front of her, causing her and Libby to back away in fear. More Heartless appeared soon after and surrounded the two friends.
"Oh no! Not them again!" Libby gasped before she held onto Molly's hand in fear.
With nowhere else to go, all Molly and Libby could do was watch in fear as the Heartless stepped closer. One of the Heartless then got ready to jump and pounced at Libby.
"Libby!" Molly realized what was going on, so she stepped in front of her girlfriend to protect her from the Heartless.
It was at that moment when a flash of light emitted from Molly's hand. As the light dimmed down, Molly realized that she was carrying some kind of sword that was in the shape of a key. Not thinking to much about it, Molly swung her key-like sword at the Heartless that tried to attack Libby, causing the Heartless to disappear as a heart appeared out of it and floated to the sky.
Molly couldn't believe what just happened. Whatever that sword was helped her protect Libby. She took a closer look at her key-shaped sword, which was pink in color and was decorated with symbols of various hearts and ghosts.
Molly was so distracted that she didn't realize that a Heartless was getting ready to attack her. Upon noticing it, Libby wasted no time in protecting her.
"Molly, look out!" This time, Libby stood in front of Molly before that same light emitted once again.
Just like Molly, Libby realized that she was wielding a key-shaped sword as well. This one was light-green in color and the end part of the sword resembled a turtle shell. Libby took a swing of her sword as well before the Heartless that tried to attack Molly disappeared.
Seeing that they were now able to fight back, Molly and Libby raised their blades as more Heartless surrounded them. They both swung their swords at the Heartless, causing more of them to disappear. Once the last of the Heartless were defeated, Molly and Libby took a breather as they tried to process what just happened.
"Are you okay, Molly?" Libby asked.
"I'm fine, Libby!" Molly assured. "What about you?"
Libby nodded. "Yes. It seems that these sword-like keys just saved us." Libby said as she observed her blade.
"I wonder what they are." Molly replied, taking a look at her on sword. "I don't know what this sword is, but I think I like it!"
"Me too! Holding this sword makes me feel like a character from A Song of Snow and Humidity!" Libby exclaimed as she was reminded of her favorite book series. "Whatever they are, I think that Master Yen Sid might be able to tell us when we meet him." Libby pointed out before bringing her attention back to the tower.
Once they were ready to continue, Molly and Libby walked through the front door as they made their way up the tall tower. They both had to climb flights of stairs while dealing with Heartless that already snuck in.
After climbing several flights of stairs, Molly and Libby finally made it to the very top of the tower. They opened a door, where they found a wizard in a blue wizard's hat and matching robes sitting behind a desk.
"Ah, you must be Molly McGee and Libby Stein-Torres!" The wizard spoke.
At that moment, Molly and Libby shared surprised looks with one another, shocked that he knew who they were.
"You know our names?" Libby asked.
"Yes, I have been expecting you! I am Master Yen Sid!" The wizard introduced.
"It's nice to meet you, Master Yen Sid!" Molly smiled. "Libby and I are wondering if you can help us get back to Brighton!"
"I am well aware of your plight, but Brighton has been overrun by the darkness, as are worlds other than your own. If you wish to return to Brighton, you must free other worlds from the darkness." Yen Sid explained. "By now you two should have realized the power that had awoken in you. You have done well fending off the Heartless with your keyblades."
"Keyblades?" Molly repeated, confused before realizing what Yen Sid was referring to.
Once again, the blades that Molly and Libby used before appeared right back in their hands.
"Are these the keyblades that you are talking about?" Libby asked.
Yen Sid nodded. "Yes. They will help you fight back against the darkness. Unfortunately, simply wielding them won't be enough. As you begin your journey, there is no doubt that you would encounter various dangers. I will send you to another location, where you would meet a wizard named, Merlin. He will teach you magic that you can use to aid you on your journey."
Hearing this surprised Libby. Even though Libby lived in a fantasy world herself, given all of the fantasy books she read, she never would have guessed that magic was real. But then again, she was also surprised to learn that ghosts were real after all.
"Wow! I never thought they we would be doing magic! This is exciting, right, Molly?" Libby exclaimed.
While Libby was excited, Molly had a skeptical look on her face.
"So, is this Merlin guy an actual wizard?" Molly asked in suspicion. "He's not one of those fake magicians who do closeup magic, right? Because I will not let myself get tricked again!"
Libby sighed as she remembered about Molly's hatred for closeup magic. She had a bad feeling that Molly's meeting with Merlin might not end well.
"I can assure you, Ms. McGee, that Merlin's magic is very real." Yen Sid calmly replied. "In fact, he is one of the most powerful wizards who ever lived! I will use my magic to send you to Merlin."
With that, Molly and Libby were suddenly teleported outside of the tower. After recovering from Yen Sid's teleportation spell, Molly and Libby looked around to realize that they were standing in the middle of an open field.
Before they could question where they were, Molly and Libby noticed that they were being approached by an elderly wizard, who they assumed was Merlin.
"Hello! You must be the new keyblade wielders Master Yen Sid asked me to train!" Merlin guessed.
"Um, yes. My name is Libby and this is my girlfriend, Molly!" Libby gestured towards Molly, who still didn't trust Merlin.
Still, skeptical, Molly walked over to Merlin and said, "You know real magic, right? If you are a closeup magician who is trying to trick me, I'm onto you!"
Embarrassed by Molly's actions, Libby approached Merlin to apologize for her. "I'm really sorry about Molly, Mr. Merlin! She is usually skeptical when it comes to magic."
"Oh, that's quite alright!" Merlin chuckled. "I can assure you two that my magic is very real!" Merlin then took a look at Molly and said, "Your name is Molly, correct? I see that you need some convincing. Please, summon your keyblade."
Curious with where this was going, Molly summoned her keyblade.
"Now, let's try a simple fire spell. I want you to aim your keyblade and chant, 'Fire.'"
"Um, okay!" Molly soon raised her keyblade and aimed it at a nearby target Merlin summoned. "Fire!"
At that moment, a fireball was shot from the end of Molly's keyblade, hitting the target. This startled Molly and Libby as they couldn't believe what they were seeing.
"M-Molly! You just did magic!" Libby gasped, surprised by what just happened.
"Wow! I can't believe it! I did actual magic!" Molly had a huge grin on her face. "I'm sorry for doubting you, Merlin!"
"Think nothing of it! Now it's your turn, Libby! Aim your keyblade at the target and chant, 'Freeze.'" Merlin instructed.
With a nod, Libby summoned her keyblade and aimed it at the target. After taking a deep breath, Libby used a blizzard spell as a gust of frost hit the target. Once she got over her surprise, Libby smiled, feeling pretty proud of herself.
Throughout the past couple of days, Merlin had been teaching Molly and Libby various spells that would help them on their journey. They learned various spells like lightning spells, gravity spells, and spells that can heal wounds.
Their training went on until Merlin had nothing left to teach them. Tired from several days of training, Molly and Libby sat down on the grass as they watched the night sky together.
"The night sky looks beautiful from here, doesn't it, Libby?" Molly asked, happily staring at the stars.
"Yes. We'd better enjoy it while we can because tomorrow is when we would begin our journey together." Libby pointed out.
"Well, I'm sure that we have nothing to worry about!" Molly assured with a smile. "As long as we are together, I'm sure that we have nothing to worry about on our journey!"
Libby gave a silent nod before she suddenly let out a silent sob. Molly looked over to Libby and was surprised to see tears welling up in her eyes.
"Libby, what's wrong?"
"I'm just so scared, Molly!" Libby sniffed. "We're far away from home and Brighton is being overrun by these monsters! What if I never see my mom again?"
Molly would be lying if she didn't say that she was worried for her family as well. Despite how bad everything turned out, she knew that she couldn't lose hope.
"Libby, I don't know what would happen next, but I promise that we will find a way back to Brighton!" As Molly said that, Libby turned to her with a soft smile before Molly smiled back and held her hand. "Please don't cry, Libby! Once we save all of the worlds from the darkness and return to Brighton, we can finally have our date together like you wanted!"
"Molly, thank you!" Libby felt lucky to have Molly by her side.
As they held hands, Molly and Libby leaned in close before they shared a kiss with one another. Once they eventually broke from the kiss, they decided that it was time for them to get some sleep. They both laid down under the stars together before closing their eyes.
The next morning, Molly and Libby returned to Yen Sid's tower now that they were finished with their training. As scared as they were of the idea of fighting more Heartless, Molly and Libby knew that they couldn't turn back now. After all, they were fighting for their friends and family.
"You two have done well in completing your training! Now you are ready to fight back against the darkness!" Yen Sid explained. "Before you leave on your journey, I have something I would like to show you! Follow me!"
It was at that moment when Yen Sid stood up from his desk and walked down a nearby hall. Curious, Molly and Libby began to follow him, wondering what he wanted to show them.
It wasn't long before Yen Sid stopped at a nearby window and Molly and Libby were surprised to see what was outside the window. Right in front of them was a vehicle that looked like some kind of spaceship to them.
"This is called a Gummi Ship! You can use it to travel to other worlds!" Yen Sid explained.
"Oh, wow! This is amazing!" Molly exclaimed. "Just think about it, Libby! Who knows what kind of worlds we get to explore! The possibilities are endless!"
As exciting as this was for Libby, she knew that she should not let it distract her and Molly from their mission. "It is pretty exciting, Molly, but let's not get too distracted! We need to remember why we are here!"
"Libby is correct!" Yen Sid spoke up. "You must not let the idea of traveling to other worlds distract you from your fight against the darkness! As you travel to other worlds, you must search for a keyhole in each world. Seal the keyhole and you can save the world from the darkness that plagues it!"
"We understand! We will make sure to save the worlds from the darkness, right Molly?" Libby asked.
Molly nodded. "Yeah! We won't let you down, Master Yen Sid!"
"Then go forth, keyblade wielders! May your hearts be your guiding key!"
Once they were ready, Molly and Libby got in the gummi ship. It took them awhile to figure out how to drive the ship, but soon got the hang of it.
The gummi ship soon took off into the sky. Even though Molly and Libby didn't know where their journey was going to take them, they were certain that as long as they had each other, they could get through anything.
AN: So, that's the end of the second chapter of this crossover story. The next chapter would be the chapter where Molly and Libby would be going to their first Disney world of the story, but which world would it be? That would be a surprise! I hope everyone is enjoying the story so far and I hope to publish the next chapter soon!
