Through the clear windows , the runway lights were blinking in the dark . The soothing classical music was being played on the background but nothing could ease the anxiousness she was painfully having . And she never stayed at one place for more than a minute , the waiting , the surge of anxious — it were killing her .

There were plasma screens of both departure and arrival times on the wall not far from her . In any minute , they would be here . Arizona couldn't help it but to pace back and forth in the VIP waiting lobby of the airport . The area was exclusively being occupied by Arizona's security team and police officers . And of course .. Mark , Lexie and Timothy were there too .

Her stomach was churning up and down as the anxiety continued to kick in endlessly . It was terrifying for her to even think of what she should said to the Torres's , especially to Carlos once they all arrived and be in the same room together . To simply just looked into the well respected man's eyes , Arizona felt like she couldn't . And to gave answers to all of the questions they had , the answers and explanations that she didn't have it with her yet — how would she do it ?

And it seemed like the world didn't want to give her a chance to ponder more deeply about it as the Torres's suddenly emerged from behind a wall . The moment was here . Lucia and Aria entered the room with gloomy faces . Edward was right next to Aria , giving his wife a supportive side hug , as they moved forward to the nearby couch . Aria's belly had grown visibly bigger than the last time Arizona saw her , therefore the support she was getting from her husband was very much needed . The last Torres to stepped inside the room was Carlos . His face was all painted with weariness but he still managed to let out a small polite smile as he said 'thank you' to their baggage handler .

Arizona spent a minute to took in the faces of the whole family in front of her . The faces that were full of sorrows . She was taking a deep breath when Lucia suddenly looked up . And that was when their gazes met . It was their first eye to eye moment after Lucia's surprise visit to Seattle — the visit that made Arizona decided that she would never ever see Lucia again for the rest of her life . And it was also the visit that made Arizona jumped to her conclusion about Callie . The visit that caused tension , the visit that changed everything that she thought she knew about her family's deaths and Callie's presence in her life .

The gaze from the older woman , Lucia's facial expression quickly turned bitter .

Aria stopped to look at her mother when she noticed Lucia sudden halt . "What's wrong , Mama ?" She then switched her eyes to shot a glance to whomever her mother was looking at .

"I can't do this , Aria . I have enough hurt in my chest ." Lucia rubbed her chest , feeling the burning feeling taken over inside of her body .

"Mama , are you okay ?" Aria asked , worried . Knowing her mother's history with heart attack , she couldn't help it but panicked whenever Lucia complained about having chest pain . "Ed , hurry help Mama to sit at nearby sofa ."

Edward nodded and did as what he was told . He carefully got Lucia settled on the sofa before finally went back to fetch for his wife .

"Tell your Papa that I can't deal with all of this in one night ." Lucia hissed . "She's the reason on why Callie got herself in big trouble ."

Aria looked at her mother . Just how much she wanted to disagree with her mother's unfair statement but she didn't want to trigger any extra stress during this moment . Aria decided not to say anything to her mother . When she was sure that Lucia wasn't looking at her , Aria looked up at Arizona's direction — raising her hand , silently acknowledged the blonde from a far .

Arizona nodded in response . She knew that Aria was trapped in the middle . Choosing to side between her or Lucia wasn't debatable . It was stupid and that was her mother , Arizona didn't mind , nor taking it to the heart neither . In fact , she was lucky that Aria even silent greeted her at the first place .

Arizona switched her gaze toward another direction as she felt a pair of eyes was looking at her in silent . It was Carlos .

"How was the flight ?" Arizona made her way to the grey haired man , in attempt to made a small talk .

"It was fine . We didn't pack much stuffs . Rushing to the airport just as soon as we heard from the police about ... Callie ." Carlos cleared his throat upon noticing that his voice started to crack when he said his daughter's name . "It made me wonder why the phone call came from the police instead of you . You have my number , Arizona ."

Arizona couldn't reply anything to Carlos's remark . Part of herself knew that she was only trying to sheltered the rest of the Torres from worries and pains but the disappointment that now written all over Carlos's face only made her think that she should had done otherwise from the start . "I'm truly sorry , Carlos . I didn't take care of her properly . I am .. I failed her . And I let you down . All of you ." Arizona glanced over to the other Torres . Lucia , Aria .. Edward .

Arizona took a deep painful breath before she continued . "I have cars waiting for us at the entrance , ready to take us to my house . I figured we should stay together during these tough times ." Arizona suggested .

"We already have the car and hotel ready for us . That is a nice offer but thank you ." Upon seeing the changes in Arizona's face , Carlos immediately continued . "I hope I didn't offend you , Arizona . I have to stand tall , be a strong man for my family . They all need me and honestly we could use a bit of family privacy right now ."

"No , it's okay . It's understandable ." Arizona quickly shook the sad expression from her face .

"The police has been keeping us updated with the case . They told us about what happened on the day one of investigation until today ." Carlos stared at Arizona longingly , his penetrating gaze was stabbing into the blue eyes . "And in my personal opinion .. Never ever I had any thoughts that you could done that to my daughter . I didn't trust their theory and thank God , it is proven now that they are absolutely wrong about you . But I can't assure you that the rest has the same opinion as mine . Hence , the distance is quite necessary for now . Until everything clears up . We don't really need to add the tense to what we already have . It doesn't make any good for anyone right now ."

Both Arizona and Carlos stopped speaking . Their eyes wandered toward Lucia . Arizona could only nod , knowing exactly what that meant .

"I would never hurt Callie . But I am really sorry for what happened . I am truly sorry . It's my fault . I should had her protected better ."

"Mija , stop blaming yourself ." Carlos pulled Arizona into a short hug . "I can see pain in your eyes . At the end of the day , we all are in pain and we all want Callie to comes back safely ."

Arizona nodded , silently agreeing to Carlos's words .

"I heard that they failed to trace back the number that contacted your for ransom money ?" Carlos asked .

"It was a burner phone that he used ." Arizona replied , quite disappointed . And Carlos seemed to be disappointed too .

"It's getting late ." Carlos brought the hand watch to his view . "We better get going now ." He patted the blonde's shoulder .

"Let me know if there's anything that you or your family need while staying in the city . I'd like to help in every way that I could ." Arizona sincerely spoke .

"Thank you ." Carlos simply said to Arizona . He made his way to his family as Arizona could only watch the whole family starting to leave the lounge .

"Carlos , let me help with those baggages ." Mark walked pass Arizona , straight toward the family .

"Mark ." Carlos simply called before pulling the taller man into a brief hug . Mark was not a stranger to their family . He was a really good friend of Callie . At one point , Carlos and Lucia both thought that Callie was dating the army major .

Arizona watched the scene in front of her unfolded . Mark was chatting away with the rest of the Torres and she never felt just how of an outsider she was right now . It hit her like a dejavu . The dream she had of attending Callie's funeral where nobody welcomed her presence there , where Mark told her to leave the family alone . It hit Arizona . Her airway felt like closing off , Arizona did nothing but her eyes were still glued on the family , sending them off using her gaze until they disappeared behind the door .

"Mark is like a family to them . Don't take it personally ." Lexie gently patted her shoulder .

"I'm alright . What matters now that everybody is here , is to get Callie out of danger ." Arizona hided her sad facial expression .

"It's totally okay to feels thing . It's okay not to be alright . It what makes us human . The feelings ." Lexie spoke . "I have noticed that you haven't really speak to anyone about yours ."

"I am totally fine , Lexie . I have been here before . Not in the same exact situation but the feelings were almost just as same as right now ." Arizona dismissed whatever Lexie was suggesting . The same as what people around her been saying .

The Next Morning

Unknown Place

The sound of keys jingling did nothing to scare off the other man . After all , he obviously knew who just got back from a breakfast run . His eyes were trained on the cheap screen , watching the news as Callie's disappearance still hit the main headline . It had been for few days now . This time , the senior family members of Torres were dominating the press conference , pleading the safety of their daughter .

He took the pleasure in knowing that he was the one that caused the chaos on the screen but mostly , he was the one that shaken up the life of Arizona Robbins's , again . Speaking about the blonde , the fact that the reporters weren't focusing on her today was making him kind off pissed off . He lived for the pain of Arizona . It was frustrating for him for the fact that Arizona wasn't that much on the news today .

"Damn it ! Don't sit in the dark like that !" The other man almost dropped his paper bag on the floor . The warehouse was eerily enough for him . "You should give me a call before you came ."

"Have you send out the package yet ?" Jack said straightforwardly , ignoring other small talks .

"I did . I sent it out yesterday right after I got it out … right after our phone call ."

"Good ."

He glanced at the small screen . "I don't think we have to go to this length ." He mumbled .

"You having some kind of regret now ? You seemed to be all in when I first laid out my plan ." Jack narrowed his eyes down to the other man .

"Because you were so objective when you first laid it out on the table ! You made me believe that we will be doing this for money . Now , I think you are just doing it to torment her family . Which is just so fucked up . And really , does sending out the package really necessary ? Jack , I am no sadist ."

"We will get the money soon ." Jack made no effort in his voice to support his emotionless assurance .

"Really ? When ? Because we should have her traded with the money by now . But it seems like you are getting all personal . And you know what will happen when a simple plan gets personal ? The feeling will get in the way , Jack ! That's when a plan fails . And I am not intended to go back to the prison ."

Jack turned around to face the other man .

Bang !

He casually threw the gun on the nearby wooden table after he shot his accomplice in cold blood .

"Oh , Doug . I should have known that your years in prison would definitely make you chickened out ." He crouched down in front of his now – former accomplice .

The other man was barely moving , the unexpected shot , the bullet he just taken probably landed near to his heart or maybe it had punctured straight to his heart , or maybe not – he wasn't sure as he clearly wasn't in the best shape to tell where the bullet was for sure .

"I'm saving you from all the troubles and worries , buddy . You may rest in peace now ." Jack gently slapped the other man's cheek before leaving him to bled out on the floor .

But that was when Jack realized that the woman that they had held captive for days wasn't on her usual chair anymore . The creaking sound of the warehouse main door left Jack a little clue as he quickly ran toward the door .

"Shit !" He hissed , starting to chase after the brunette . Afraid of losing her in the nearby forest located behind the abandoned warehouse .

When he got out of the warehouse , he automatically noticed the brunette was desperately trying to walk as fast as she could to one direction . And that direction was redirected to a small river .

Callie turned her head when she heard the sound of footsteps coming in to her direction . When she turned her gaze forward again , that was when she accidentally kicked a dead branches – resulting her to fell down face first . She frantically crawled forward in attempt to got herself back up but her knees felt weak . And the dizziness got herself at disadvantage .

Jack – being the strong , overpowering man took this opportunity to lunged forward after Callie , grabbing handful amount of Callie's hair only to pushed her back to the ground again . Crouching on top of the Latina , the man rolled Callie forcefully to face him .

"Let me go !" Callie spitted out .

Anger seeped into him even more as Callie continued to struggle eventhough he already had her pinned down to the ground . Jack gave a hard slap on Callie's left cheek . Before giving another two on the right .

"It hurts .. It hurts .. Please , just let me go ." Callie pleaded .

Jack ignored it as he wrapped his hand on her throat , threatening Callie with his strength that was now focused in both his hands . Callie grunted . She tried to remove the hands but to no avail , it was just a useless effort , his hard grip on her neck defeated all her struggle easily . Jack applied the pressure just enough time and before Callie's face turned overly pale , he finally released the tight grip .

Instantly , Callie coughed up for the air . She was breathing even more heavily now as she realized that the man on top of her wasn't the usual man . The brunette's thoughts were now only clouded with unknowns ; this man seemed to be extra violent than his friend .

She was weak . She knew better now not to fight this man – she would surely lose if she did .

"Bitch , don't try to run away again ." Jack hissed , pulling Callie up by the hair . "Fucking get up !"

Without resisting , Callie did as what she was told . The pain that she felt all over her body – she had to put it aside . Pissing off the unknown man wasn't an option right now .

"Keep walking , quickly !" Jack suddenly yelled into the silence when he felt like the brunette was slowing down both of them . "Back to the warehouse !"

The first thing Callie saw when she entered the damned warehouse was a body – lying on the floor , face up . The blood was still flowing out from the chest .

"Is that the usual guy ?" Callie

Callie quietly sobbed . All she wanted to do was actually cry . During the early time of the abduction , she wanted to cry because she was afraid . She was scared . She didn't know where she was and what was happening . And now she still wanted to cry – only the tears of fear had now been expanded to exhaustion . She was just too tired . The days she had been held here by force – it all had taken tolls on her , physically and mentally .

"Don't worry . I will clean that mess ... after he properly bleed out and eventually die ." Jack said while securely tying up the brunette on a chair . "Or .. maybe I should let you have a tiny bit of power to make the decision since you had no control over everything around you for the past few days , what do you think ?"

Callie said nothing but she kept her gaze only on her now - pale former abductor .

"Look at me !" Jack held Callie's face using his hand , forcing her to looked up to him - the devil's eyes . "His breathing is getting shallow but that doesn't mean he isn't suffering , is he ? Hey , are you okay down there ?" He asked to the man on the floor , mocking .

"So what do you say ? Should we shoot him again , maybe this time in his head , ends his suffering ? Or do we keep him like that until he bleeds out all of his remaining blood ?" He only got silence from the brunette . "It's really your call . Whatever you say , I will follow . I'm here to take order ."

Callie moved her head in disgust , freeing herself from the man's hand grip . She kept staring at Jack , her eyes filled with hatred . Silent hatred .

"You seriously are fucking sympathizing on him now ? He was the one that abducted you the night when you were out in the small alley outside the bar !" Jack widened his eyes . "Choose either one that will make you happy . He deserves either one from you ."

Both men did terrible things to her . But at least , the other man that was on the floor , whom she didn't know his name even until now .. that man never tortured her emotionally . He hit her , sure but only when she was being difficult . Usually when Callie sat quietly on her chair , he would sat on the shabby sofa , watching the television while his eyes just subtly watching her . Sometimes he just stared at her for hours with a cellphone in his hand . Sometimes she could sense that he was tired too . He was waiting for a call from someone , she could tell . Callie took the opportunity to asked him the basic questions like ..

Who are you ?

Why are you doing this ?

What do you want ?

But the man wouldn't engage in any conversation . It almost like he was trained not to talk to people . He was better , absolutely better than the man that was standing in front of her . The only thing that she didn't like about him was , he tend to use needle to knocked her out whenever he felt like she was suffocating him with many questions .

"Am I boring you here ? Yeah ?" Jack dragged another chair , situating it just five feets away from Callie's . He took out his gun before he sat on the chair , staring back at Callie - face to face . "Let's play a game then . Staring game . If you are the one that blink first , we will shoot him in his head . If I am the first to blink , we will just leave him on the floor . The game starts now ." He simply said , not giving any chance for Callie to response .

It was a stupid game . Either way he got what he wanted in the end , Callie knew that . As she silently thought about it , she blinked her eyes .

"You blinked ." He smiled cockily , standing up and aiming his gun at the helpless man . He walked forward .

"No ! No , no ." Callie yelled in distraught . "Please , don't shoot him . I'm begging you , please don't ."

"So you finally made a decision ." Jack looked over his shoulder , smiling wickedly at the brunette . "It wasn't that hard , was it ? So we choose to left him to die in peace of a suffer ?"

"No of course not ! I don't want that for him either . I want you to save him . Get him to the hospital or ... or do something !" Callie shook her head . "I mean , he is at least .. maybe a friend to you . Help him , ..." Callie paused in search of this man's name .

"Jack ." He revealed his name . "And you are no fun . I gave you only two options . Saving him isn't one of it and trust me , Doug will thank me later in hell for doing this ."

"Why are you doing this ?"

"Honestly ?" He walked back to the empty chair to occupy it again , leaving his word just simply hanging there . "Are you afraid ? Of what's happening ?"

Callie remained tight lip , refusing to give him the upper hand . Admitting her fear would only favour him or not – probably satisfying him . And for those reasons , Callie wouldn't admit that she was of course – afraid of him .

"Do you think Arizona is scared to death about you right now ? Is she worrying about you ? Does she still sleep at night in peace now that she still doesn't know where you are ? Do you think she's in pain ?" Jack shot her with a dozen of questions .

"Really , who are you ? Why does she bother you a lot ? Just leave her out of this mess . Don't drag her into this ."

"You really are clueless , aren't ya ? You don't know me ? Recognize my name ? You weren't surprise at all when I said my name . She never talk to you about me ? At all ?"

Callie held her breath . Came to think again , Jack – his name .. It did ring a bell . She kind of heard the name being brought up few times when Arizona was speaking on the phone to someone on the other line . "How you and her related ?"

"That's not really important ." He ignored the question . "What matters now , how much of pain could she endures before she finally breaks apart her sanity ? You are her girlfriend , tell me ."

"You are holding a huge grudge against her . Whatever she did to you before this , please don't hurt her because of it . There must be some other way to solve whatever is going on ." Callie pleaded . Not her Arizona . She was already deep with painful messes . Eventhough she knew that they had problems with their relationship right now – the thought of Arizona getting hurt again was killing her . The brunette would never wish the worst for the blonde . "She's been through a lot already . Please spare her ."

"Unbelievable ! You still love her . Even after seeing how much of a pathetic asshole she could be toward the person that she claims she loves so dearly ." Jack snorted , laughing sarcastically . "You are both so pathetic that you suit each other . But it wouldn't take long for that love to turns into hate , speaking from my own experience ."

"Callie , I have loved someone before . Someone that I knew I could never have . She was somebody that I could only look at . I would oftenly fantasized how perfect we could be as an equal couple . But she treated me like a freak , she looked at me like I was a disgusting object even until she died , in a tragic accident that I planned and orchestrated so … beautifully . And perfect." Jack dysfunctionally smiled as he thought about it . "You see how love turn into hate – just like that ? How it consumes us that we would do almost anything for it or in my case , to get over it ? It's stupid but I think maybe I would be with her in another lifetime . Just not this one ."

"What was her name ?" Callie asked .

Arizona's Penthouse

Arizona walked into the lobby in hurry , trying to escape from all the crazy reporters that were camping outside of the tall building just like every other day . But truthfully speaking , it was getting worst each day – those crazy reporters . She had been minimizing her in and out from the building and besides doing it for safety reason , this was also one of the reason . Although she had been practicing the safety precaution but the morning visit down to the precinct was inevitable today .

She wanted to be there eventhough it wasn't her time to go live today . Arizona wanted to show her support for both Carlos and also Lucia , even if one of them didn't seem to appreciate much of her presence over there .

Aria and Ed both were absence during the press conference today . Arizona had received a phone call from Carlos super early this morning to informed her that Aria's water just broke .

The couple was now in the hospital as the doctor advised for the young woman to be warded for further monitoring .

"Not a good timing to welcomed a newborn baby but when the time comes , it just comes . There's no delaying ."

Arizona remembered Carlos's words this morning . He was chuckling over the phone when he said that but Arizona noticed the tone . It was a sad chuckle . A joke that was probably to calm oneself down .

Would Callie even make it just in time to welcomed her niece ? Arizona thought to herself . She already had the money ready . Five million dollars . All she needed right now was for the kidnapper to call her again .

She sighed to her own thought .

Arizona just wanted to go up to her suite and probably pour herself some more Whiskey just like yesterday and the day before that . After all , she was basically prohibited from doing any unusual activity – an advice that first came from Tim . And it wasn't too long before her lawyer advice her the same too .

"Miss Robbins , you have a package ." Howard called from behind when he noticed the blonde walking pass the lobby counter .

Arizona muttered a soft 'thank you' as she placed her trench coat onto the counter , just right next to her package . The package – it came in a square shaped box . "Is there any card attached to it ? Sender name ?"

"There's nothing , I'm afraid ." Howard replied politely with a smile .

Upon touching the box , Arizona felt like she was being hit with another pang of dejavu . The box seemed like the same box she had received before this when she was hospitalized due to the car accident . On instant , she moved her hand away from the box . Arizona just looked at the box anxiously but never ever blinking away from it . The bad feeling she had earlier in her heart had invaded her stomach by now . As odd as it may sounded , she felt like the box didn't belong here . It shouldn't be here . And it couldn't stay here .

To Be Continued ...

So ... it's Jack ? What do you all think inside the box ? Is Arizona getting too paranoid ?

A/N : Whoa , I guess my last A/N wasn't encouraging to most of you here .. based on the respond in the review section . I wanna discuss more about this , probably give assurance but then I am afraid that the more I talk about the ending - the more I will accidentally reveal it before it finally comes out . So , I am zipping up my mouth or .. fingers here .

And I do appreciate everyone that been following this story since 4 years ago . Since I first started it , through my ups and downs . Altho that some of them are no longer actively writing reviews on this story , I still recognized those that still been commenting and following this story since day one .

Special side note to smiley714 , I do hope that you will still wait around for the ending . But if you won't stay around , I understand that . Butttt , if you decide to read this one till the end - I hope you will like the ending . P/S : I have few people in my life that are just like you . They read the ending first !

Lastly , I hope you all are doing okay out there . With everything been going on right now , I think it is important that we live our lives like there is no tomorrow . Tell those that matter to you of just how much you love them . Today . Right now . This second . Because tomorrow is not promised .

I'm honestly still having a hard time to wrap my head with the news of Naya Rivera's disappearance . I hope she is found soon .
