Subaru awkwardly moved on his seat, not being able to sit still due to both his fear of what might hear and a solid dose of excitement. His eyes moved from the figure of his father joined by his mother on the couch and Al who leaned on the wall on their left looking out of place in the modern day japan with his clothing.
"Where should I start?" Kenichi mussed scratching the back of his head while eliciting a groan from the man missing a limb.
"You think about that now OFA? I can't believe that you had months and you only think about that now?" the man said in exasperation more than anything else knowing his friend quite well, he should have expected this.
"Hehe, that's my husband for you. Maybe I should start from the beginning, what do you say dear?" said the woman making her husband smile at how calm and happy she seemed, something she was not from the night their son went missing.
"Yes, explain to our son how awesome his old man is!"
"Shush you, now son I have no doubt you are very familiar with Isekai from all those manga and personal experiences and I'm guessing you experienced it yourself."
"Yeah."
"Your father went through something similar when he was younger."
"Ohhh, you start with that, damn your wife is the same as ever." The helmet wearing man snickered.
"Dear do you think it's a good idea, what if -" Kenchi was about to say until Subaru stood up.
"Hold on! You were isekaied?! how, when, why, where NONE OF THIS MAKES SENSE!"
"Yes, like father like son as they say, now I won't go into many details about how it happened or what your father did during that time. That is his story to discuss when he is ready but until then, please do not pressure him. His time there was not something he remembers fondly."
"I understand...I won't ask." And he really did, he understands that better than anyone else, the man could not quite keep eye contact with his son.
There was too much understanding inside of them, he never wanted his kid to go through any of the things he did, the horrors and the pain yet his kid had a similar experience but did it in a mental state that Kenchi could not comprehend.
'He is not like me he is better.' he told himself. He watched him interact with people who hurt him and smiled as if nothing happened, that is not something he did.
Anyone who hurt him or what he held dear died at his hands.
"You must have many questions Natsuki, in time, I will do my best to answer to all of them, but the time is not just right yet, but I can answer to some of your questions but only a few so think a few before you ask me." the man said deciding he should man up and do the talking rather than leave his wife do it for him."
"All right what in the hell happened to you in the classroom back there? I never seen you act so cold and…. so angry."
"No great power comes without a price; you must be aware of that right? In my case I suffer from a radical personality change whenever I am terribly angry or stressed. I get colder, less emphatic, and less myself but do not worry as it is only temporary, and it is not like some Dissociative disorder or anything. I am just getting more emotionless. The reason why I started to get that radical personality change is...well... let's just say, a lot of blood was shed through my 'journey'." Kenchi hand quotes while the rest of the table went dead silent except for Naoko who was comforting Kenchi.
Subaru finally spoke after thinking about his second question.
"I can relate but I'm sorry what you went through. Now for the second question how did you find me?"
"Like your mother said, I was isekaied to and gained some very interesting powers along the way, one allows me to create portals to anywhere and another power allows me to know the location of the people I 'marked'."
"Marked?"
"What is with that face son!? You think I gave you some invisible tattoo or anything? Nah! There is no sign or anything I just know where people I want are at all times."
"Creepy! That's creepy! But, not that I'm not grateful or anything, why didn't you come after me sooner?"
"I would have if that FUCKING WITCH let me!" Kenchi went into his empathetic persona once again causing the others around him to go quiet.
"Sorry I'm just...the witch of envy didn't allow me to take you back but when I realized that your location moved to yet another world I just had to wait for the right moment when the administrators of that place were busy, and I slipped in."
"I understand." Natsuki did not understand at all but in his defense all this talk about different powers, world crossing and administrators was confusing. He got the jest of it, but he knew there is much more that slipped his mind.
"What about Al then?" He moves his eyes to the one-armed helmet man.
"..."
"Leave this to me boss."
"Alright."
"Long story short pal he is my boss, I worked for him in that world he got transported into, which we will talk about the 'world' your father went into later, and when you went missing, I offered to go after you when was not able to go himself. Sadly, when it comes to witches and old Luganica, things can be very unpredictable and ended up decades before you were transported, and I had to -" Al was going to continue but was abruptly stopped.
"Stop right there! My poor son had enough things dropped on his plate as it is." Naoko interrupted.
"Sorry ma'am." The one-armed helmet man laughed.
Subaru stood up as he felt as if he was going to faint.
"Okayyy, that's enough information for a day, I think I am going to sleep."
"But son you just woke up."
"Then a shower, a long shower sounds good."
"Fine but you better be quick, or I will have my wrestling skills active".
"OK GOING" Subaru ran to the Shower knowing this was just in good fun.
Kenchi was laughing along with everyone else in the room until the laughter stopped and Kenchi's face turned serious.
"Al, when Natsuki comes back down, we have to tell him about my power."
"You mean you are going to tell him your REAL POWER?"
"Yes, I feel as though I can trust my own son to keep this a secret as the latest owner of this power it should be kept a secret."
"Understood, Kenchi-Or should I say, ALL FOR ONE."
