A/N: May be another chapter, I'm not sure at this point. Or I could jsut leave you to speculate, which seems like a much better, and highly enjoyable, idea.

He tapped a beat on the steering wheel, to music only he could hear. This, predictably, drew the attention of his partner. "What happy bug bit you?"

He glanced at his partner. "Aren't I allowed to have a good day?"

"No."

"Well, you can't stop me."

"C'mon man, you either got laid or you're high."

He laughed, offering up no response other than that.

"You trying to tell me John Munch gave in to the pleasures of the flesh last night? And not just his own flesh?"

Still smiling, John said, "Nope. Slept all alone in my own apartment."

"Then what'd you smoke before you came into work?"

"The glory of happiness, which last time I checked was still legal."

Fin stared out the windshield, trying to figure out just what was making his partner so goddamned happy. "The government finally admitted that they killed JFK, not Lee Harvey Oswald."

Faking surprise, and seriousness, John replied, "They did? When?"

Fin only glared at him.

"Aw, what's da matter wid poor iddle Finney-kins?"

This only served to make Fin glare more and John to burst out laughing.

"Face it, partner. I am a closed door to which you do not have the key. When I feel like trusting you with said key, you shall find out, but until then," John imitated an evil laugh.

Fin glared some more, then turned to glare out the windshield. With his partner like this, it was going to be a painful day.
