Everything about the universe is terrible right now! More work hath been lost!
On with this god-damn chapter… joking I love it already.
Chapter 22: Reunited
I stared around the dimly lit room and stroked Ahri's hair. She purred very quietly so I guessed it would be a bad idea to stop. With that in mind I tried to think of something to do which wouldn't require me to move. Eventually I came to the conclusion that looking around would be the most productive thing.
The room we were in was the main one of the cabin. I was sat on a sofa with Ahri cuddled on my lap. In front of me was a small coffee table that reminded me of the one in our room with an arm-chair on the other side of it. Above us was a small chandelier which provided just about enough light for the room. On the wall behind the arm-chair was a door which led to the kitchen where my mother was making tea for us all. To my left was the door to the outside and the door to our right was probably to my mother's room, though she had made it a point to not tell me. Underneath the coffee table, sofa and arm-chair was a red carpet but the rest of the floor was wooden.
As was tradition we took our shoes off at the door which I wasn't too fond of but Ahri seemed to enjoy for whatever reason. Being in a suit and not wearing the shoes felt wrong.
It was only when I looked down at Ahri did I realise she appeared to be asleep. Deciding to take a chance I stopped stroking her hair for a few seconds.
"You have five seconds before I go and explain to your mother about all the sex we've had."
Instantly I got back to stroking her hair just as my mother walked in holding a tray with three cups of tea on it. Despite five years having gone past since I last saw her she was still exactly as I remembered. She had shoulder high hair which was the same colour as mine but we shared nothing else. Her eyes were a light blue colour and her nose was much thinner than mine. Her jaw was much rounder in shape and she kept in good shape but only did what was necessary to keep her figure. She was wearing a traditional Ionian dress that reminded me of the one Karma usually wore in her matches.
As she got to the table she put down the tray and sat on the arm-chair. For a moment she looked between Ahri and I with an eyebrow raised.
"So should I take it you two are quite close?"
"It's a bit more than that. Love is usually the word people use for it."
"Good to see you have finally found a nice girl. And good to see your father didn't force you into marrying Lita."
"He tried. If not for some good luck and planning on my part I would have had to."
"I always told him it was a bad idea… if you don't mind me asking why did it take you so long to find me? You have been on this planet a few weeks now I think."
"How would you know about that?"
"Everyone knows everyone around here. I heard about a man in armour and a fox-woman murdering their way through the continent a while back. At first I didn't suspect anything of it but now it is clear that it was you two."
"We got… distracted."
"By 'distracted' do you mean that you preferred to go on tour around a bunch of cities?"
"No… sort of… I didn't realise you were on this planet until a fifty year-old me explained it."
"You can't do anything the normal way can you? Do I get to meet this fifty year-old you?"
"Probably. Unfortunately I have no control over when he appears and disappears."
"Ah well… my curiosity is quite something at the moment so I really have to ask, why has she got tails and extra ears?"
"She used to be a fox but then some magic happened and now she is this. I'd say it's an improvement."
"Yeah I agree. I would be concerned if you were dating a fox."
"So would I."
Finally Ahri decided to contribute in the worst way possible:
"Hey Zoh why don't you tell her about all the sex we've had?"
"I was hoping to avoid the subject."
"Don't worry Zoh I would be confused if you hadn't done it a lot."
"Ah well, good."
"Just don't do it here. I have a guest room but I would prefer to keep it clean."
"I didn't plan on doing anything here so no worries there."
"You took her on a moonlight walk and didn't plan on doing anything?"
"Yes but-"
"No if's or but's from you young man! As your mother I demand that you go back to wherever you are staying and have sex with this woman."
"What the hell? I still have a lot to ask you."
"Unless you plan on creating something this planet will still be here tomorrow so we can talk then."
"Why can't we-"
Before I could finish I fell onto my bed and Ahri landed on top of me. She stared at me for a second then gave a genuinely warm smile, much to my surprise.
"I'm not going to make you do anything, so don't worry about that. Unless you want to that is."
"To be honest I don't want another head-ache."
"Okay then. But we are still going to sleep nude just in case."
"I'm fine with that."
The next day (9th May 10:00):
Once again I found myself incapable of leaving Ahri alone while she was sleeping. I simply couldn't resist enjoying her perfect form. Normally I stroked her cheek because that was what she enjoyed the most but she was facing the other way so instead I stroked her hair. As soon as I did that her tails wiggled around on my stomach and she started purring. When she turned around I thought she was waking up but in reality she was still very much asleep. Moments later Ahri hugged me weakly and put her head against my chest.
This went on for quite a while without incident, however when I felt her move her legs around I knew she was waking up. In the interest of starting the day on a high-note I gave her a kiss on the fore-head which made her wake up properly. She looked up at me with a smile which made me quite happy.
"Enjoying yourself?"
"Very much. Even more so now that you're awake."
"What were you doing before I woke up?"
"Stroking your hair. I literally have nothing better to do."
"You could go find something to do."
"If I left the room you would have my head on a stick."
"I wouldn't do that. It would be on a spear or something."
"Exactly. See how difficult life is for me?"
"Shut up you have an incredibly easy life now. I barely ever tell you what to do and your job is the same as mine which, by the way, is very easy."
"What about all the stuff I make? Do you think that is easy?"
"Looks pretty damn easy."
"Oh is that so? How about we go have breakfast then we can put that to the test?"
"Okay then. Since this is basically a bet I say that you have to give me another massage. I'm not saying you were good at it but… you weren't bad."
"Hmm, if I win… uh… I don't know. I'll just say we go to Ziggs' pool party for a while."
"So it's a win-win for me?"
"If we both get blown up by whatever you make then it's not a win."
"That's not going to happen."
"It might."
"You have to put more trust in me Zoh."
"Funnily enough that is what I said to my teacher when I did my first science experiment in school."
"What happened in the experiment?"
"I was supposed to make ammonia but instead I made a nuclear reactor."
"If I knew what that was I'm sure I would be impressed."
"Yeah you would. Although you would be less impressed when you found out it went critical and exploded the day after. Thankfully I made it on a Friday."
"How big was the explosion?"
I put my hands in front of her and moved them about ten centimetres away from each other.
"Imagine the school was about that size."
I moved my hands another ten centimetres away from each other.
"The explosion was about that."
"I would say you suck as science but that is obviously un-true. When your stuff doesn't explode it's quite good."
"Thank you."
Just as I was putting my hands down the door burst open and Shen jumped through. He drew his swords and looked around the room for a moment before he saw us.
"Oh… shit. Wrong room."
"Whose room did you think you were jumping into?"
"Doctor Mundo's. I have this thing where every month I jump into his room and throw a sword at him."
"Why?"
"Because I can."
"Very well then."
"I'll just be off now. Sorry if you were having a moment or something… actually I don't really care if you were having a moment. Bye."
He back flipped out, closing the door as he went. Ahri looked back at me from the door and put her head on my chest.
"For a minute I thought we could actually have a day without him being annoying."
"I have a plan for how to do that but it's going to take a while so I suggest we just go have breakfast and then I can enjoy watching you fail to do what I do."
After breakfast (11:30):
Ahri POV
Already I was regretting making this bet with Zoh. He had even gone so far as to give me the main components of what I said I would make but even with those I was getting no-where. How he did this every day mystified me.
When I realised I was day-dreaming I shook my head to regain some focus. Looking down at the components I decided to finally start making something. I threw some of them together in a very make-shift way then pressed every button on it. It buzzed and whirred for a few seconds before stopping, a small plume of smoke appearing out of it just after. Zoh got up out of the arm-chair and picked up a small metal box from the coffee table as he strolled in my direction. He got down on his knees next to me and inspected my invention for a second before opening the box and putting what I had made inside it. Immediately after he closed the box, put it on the ground and sat on it. I stared in confusion for a second before an explosion noise came from the box and it jumped in the air by a few centimetres, taking Zoh with it. He landed back on the ground and smiled at me.
"Are you going to admit it's not easy yet?"
"Yes. How the hell do you make whatever you want like this?"
"That's like me asking you how you use magic. If you can't do it nothing is going to change that. I'm not saying you couldn't be a scientist. But I am saying you can't be the same kind of scientist as me."
"Can you show me how to make something? I really don't want all of the time I have spent on this to be a waste."
"I'll guide you through making an RNG button. Don't worry it will not take long."
He got off the box and knelt down next to me. After picking out some parts he swept the rest aside and stretched his legs out. He patted his lap so I shuffled over and sat on it facing to Zoh's left.
"This is a nice way to learn something."
For a while we worked our way through how to build an 'RNG button' as he called it. I understood most of the process but near the end I got distracted by my increasing desire for Zoh. Quickly I decided such things could wait but by then I had missed how to finish the button. He held it up in front of my face so I used my curiosity to blank out lust.
"Why is it you can do this yet so many other people can't? Me included."
"More work than I want to admit."
"Oh just tell me how much I won't judge."
"To put it simply I didn't have any friends or hobbies until I was seventeen or so."
"…What did you do in your spare time?"
"I didn't have any spare time. If I wasn't working I was eating or sleeping. That said I didn't get much sleep. The eight AM to twelve PM work day is very good for getting stuff done."
"A lot of people put in the same amount of work and get no-where near as smart. The mage who made me human did just as much yet he wasn't nearly as good with science."
"I'll be honest I did basically cheat at one point. I came across a substance in my research of a certain planet which devoted more of the brain to knowledge and less to hand-eye co-ordination."
"How come you still have good hand-eye co-ordination then?"
"Once again, cheating. I added some devices to my spine which correct the messages from my brain before sending them on to my limbs. Although I wouldn't advise anyone ever to do the same thing. It hurt. A lot. Looking back I really wish I had found another way around it."
"How much could such a thing hurt?"
"I drilled a chunk of metal into my spine! How could that not hurt?"
"Unfortunately I haven't ever drilled anything into my spine so how about you give me something to compare it to."
"Like getting kicked in the balls and having man-flu at the same time."
"Still a woman here."
"Hmm… I guess it's like getting hit in the face by a sledgehammer while giving birth."
"Haven't given birth here."
"This is impossible! You have never been hurt by anything!"
"True. The worst I have had was getting hit by a paintball."
"Fine. Just accept that it hurt a lot."
"Whatever you say, big man. Now if you would be so kind I think it's about time we go off to that pool party."
"Now that is an idea I can get behind."
I gave him a kiss then got up. As I wandered over to my room to change Zoh went to his. It dawned on me that he never showed me what the button did but by that point I was well past caring. Instead I entered my room and got undressed, leaving the door slightly open in case Zoh was watching. I slid on my swim-suit and picked out some sun-glasses before walking to the door. When I entered the main room Zoh was not there so I skipped merrily over to his room. I opened the door to be greeted by the sight of him flexing his muscles in front of a mirror.
"Zoh what are you doing?"
"Do these look smaller to you?"
"Not at all."
"I think they are. It's actually starting to worry me."
I giggled while walking over to him. When I got close he dropped his arms and turned around.
"Ahri this is serious."
"Not really. I like the way you are right now so don't go off to the end of the universe to get bigger muscles."
"If you say so. Are you ready?"
"Yeah."
"Okay then. Summoner can you send us to the pool-party island please?"
The summoner appeared next to us and, once again, fell face first to the ground. He pushed himself up and patted down his robes.
"I hate self-teleportation. Anyway what did you want? I wasn't really listening."
"The pool-party island if you would be so kind."
"Ah thank god that's one of the easy ones. Bye."
A second later we were on the sandy beaches of the island. A few metres from us was Draven who, as usual, was surrounded by at least four female champions. Some other champions were sun-bathing or swimming in the sea. Over by the pool were the same people as last time except they had been joined by the likes of Yasuo and Lux, who were bickering by the pool. I wanted to go find out why so I grabbed Zoh's hand and dragged him towards the pool. When we got within a few metres Yasuo noticed us and turned to greet us:
"Hello both. Would you mind telling Lux here that hunting is a job and not a hobby?"
I was about to answer but Lux cut in before I could:
"It's not a job! Plus you only ever kill things that no-one will buy anyway!"
Once again I tried to reply and once again I was cut off:
"I never claimed that I did it for a job but other people do!"
Yet again I tried to speak only to be interrupted by Zoh:
"Look it's clear that no matter what I or Ahri says, you are both going to keep arguing so we are just going to leave you to it."
"But he's-"
"Shut it. I lost the ability to care the moment I heard you two arguing."
Zoh pulled me past them and over to the same sun-loungers we used last time. I sat down while Zoh did the same. We both lay back and I turned my head to look at him.
"Just so you know I actually had an opinion on that."
"So did I but we would have ended up spending hours over there shouting at each other and I would quite like to relax."
"Actually relaxing sounds like a good idea. Although I will once again say that if you want to do stuff just say."
"Yeah I know. You don't exactly give me time to forget it."
"Why would I? This way irritates you so I like it."
"Shush now. I'm going to go for a swim."
He got up and went over to the pool. I would have followed him but I was quite comfortable where I was so I decided to stay there instead.
Despite my attempts to relax and forget about the world I couldn't stop myself peeking at Zoh constantly. I realised that if he saw me I would not hear the end of it for weeks so I put on my sunglasses. It helped for a few seconds until I instinctively took them off to get a better view at the same time as he looked over at me. He stopped swimming then got out of the pool and walked over to me.
"Doing a bit of sight-seeing?"
"Only as much as you do."
"I don't do it nearly as much anymore. You, on the other hand, have been doing it since I started swimming."
"Well I can't help it so shut up. I've been so damn horny since I woke up, even more so than usual."
"Unfortunately I can't really help you there… is that a volcano?"
"What?"
He stared at something behind me and pointed. I turned to look and noticed that there was indeed a volcano in the distance. Zoh looked back to me as if asking permission to go look at it.
"Fine then let's go."
"Yay!" He shouted while jumping and throwing his hands into the air. By the time he reached the ground he was in his armour. Before I could even get up he was running towards it, smashing past trees as he went. I waved goodbye to everyone and started jogging in the direction of the volcano, following the path of destruction that Zoh had made. The feeling of the grass on my feet as I jogged brought back memories of being a fox. For a split second I was conflicted about if being human was a good thing or not. The freedom that came from being in charge of every aspect of my life was something that I missed but being human had so many benefits, chief among them being the man I was jogging after at that very moment.
A few moments later the forest came to an end, only to be replaced by the rocky cliffs of the enormous volcano. I looked up to see Zoh scaling the volcano with surprising speed. He was already half way up so if I wanted to catch up to him I would have to find a faster way up. Looking around for a moment I found that someone had already sculpted a walkway that went all the way to the top. I followed it up and reached the top before Zoh. When he pulled himself up on the other side I waved, only for him to hunch over in disappointment.
"How did you get up here so fast?"
"There's a path leading up the side of this thing. You really should look around before you rush into something like this."
"I should have… I'm really tired. Smashing through trees then climbing a mountain really takes it out of you."
"That's your fault and your fault alone."
"I know… but at least it's worth it. Look at that lava!"
I look down at the bubbling molten rock below me. The heat coming off of it was enough to form a bead of sweat on my forehead. It was quite impressive but not something I was going to spend much time staring at. That was until Zoh dived in and started doing laps. He appeared to be fine so my worry was replaced by curiosity.
"Zoh doesn't that hurt?"
"Nope. After I had that run-in with lava on the moon I decided to make a new set of armour that had less resistance to physical attacks but a much higher fire resistance. At the moment it feels quite moderate in here. Maybe you should come in and give it a try."
"I think I'll pass actually. How long are you going to stay in there?"
"Not long because the amount of error messages on my head-up display is beginning to annoy me."
"What are they saying?"
"Basically 'get the hell out of that lava'."
"Why? I thought you said you were wearing armour made for this."
"I am but the coding is still the same as the other models. Bit of laziness on my part."
"Get out of there then. I'm getting nervous."
"Okay."
He swam to one side and pulled himself up the sheer walls of the volcano. When he got to the top he wiped off any remaining lava from his suit and removed it. I waltzed around the edge of the volcano until I was face-to-face with him. Just as I was about to tell him how stupid an idea that was a hook with some rope attached clipped onto the outside of the volcano. He tugged himself up in-between I and Zoh. Even from just a glance it was easy to tell he had done something stupid.
"Like I said before, I really hate self-teleportation."
"Why did you have a hook and some rope with you when you teleported yourself?"
"That is a question you don't want the answer to."
"I'll leave it then."
"Good. I will be going now."
My opportunity was about to disappear so I had to say something fast:
"Summoner can you send us back now?"
"Sure."
As soon as we appeared back in Zoh's room I jumped onto him, forcing him back onto the bed. He tried to speak but I wasn't going to listen to whatever it was anyway so I placed a finger on his mouth to shut him up.
"I know what you're going to say but, to be honest, I don't care. I've just had some time to relax and now I am going to do the opposite."
Many hours later (15:00):
Zoh POV
"This is… the worst idea I have ever had…"
I stared down at the glistening city of gold I had called home for so many years. A thousand empires had burned to make a single city for the elite of a tiny civilisation. Around it laid the destroyed armies of the many who had tried to take it for their own, yet the city itself showed no signs of damage.
From where I was the procession was making its way down the main street. Soldiers lined the streets and behind them were the denizens of the city, in numbers I hadn't planned for. Looking past them I spotted my target. The emperor.
As I no longer had a use for them I threw my binoculars down the other side of the mountain on which I was perched. My time was limited so I skipped the safety measures and slammed the climbing hook into the top of the mountain. Attaching it to my waist I started my descent down the mountain. I looked down for a split-second and immediately regretted it.
"I really should have put more time into planning this."
The one good thing to have come out of looking down was that I realised I was where I needed to be. Taking a second to get a foot-hold I turned around and instantly saw where I was going. I un-hooked myself from the rope and brought up the hologram on my suit. Pressing the wing-suit button it closed away and my suit swapped to the unfortunately non bullet-proof suit that had the benefit of a gliding ability. I took a second to check that everything was in place before saying a final prayer to anything that was listening:
"If there is a god, please don't let this break. Thanks."
"I could do be your god if you wish." Shen replied from above me.
"Shen what the hell are you doing here? And how are you here?"
"I teleported to you out of curiosity and ended up here. This place looks strange."
"It should. This is my planet. Not yours."
"Really? Why are you here?"
"That's a question I am asking myself right now."
"Ah well. Need any help?"
"No this isn't something you could help with."
"Very well. Before you do anything just think about how many times Ahri is going to kick my arse if you don't come back."
"I'll keep it in mind."
He teleported away, leaving me alone with the daunting task ahead. I took one final look down at the giant church which dwarfed everything else in the city with the exception of the palace. The only thing taller than the palace was the mountain which I was about to dive off of.
I held my breath as I jumped from the mountain. For a few terrifying seconds the wing-suit didn't catch any air. I only released my breath when my speed suddenly dropped massively and I started gliding through the air. Looking down at the city below me I spotted a few landmarks which I remembered from my child-hood, including the crater where my school used to be. It didn't take long for me to reach the main spire of the church, at which point I activated the rockets to slow me down. When I fell onto the spire of the church I switched from my wing-suit to my invis-suit. To my irritation I found a soldier on a look-out point below me. I activated the invisibility on my suit and clambered down so that I was next to him. He was wearing the armour I had designed and was holding a sniper-rifle that would be the end of any trouble-makers down below. Before I could make a move he started speaking over the communication system embedded into his helmet:
"Bravo, Whiskey two-one this is Yankee, Delta five-nine. Radio check. Over."
I waited for a moment until I expected whoever he was talking to was done the used a button on my suit to remove his helmet. Before he could react I got behind him and chocked him out. After a few seconds of struggling he went limp so I dropped him to the ground.
"What was that?"
The sound of another soldier made me freeze for a second. It came from the other side of the spire so I ran around the walkway to him. He saw me and drew his knife. Before he had a chance to attack I rolled to him and swept his legs from the ground with one of my own. While he was still falling I grabbed the hand holding his knife and slammed it down into his chest. Now two of them were down so it was only a matter of time before someone realised something was going on.
Decided to go the quick way down I started climbing down the spire instead of taking the stairs. I had about a hundred metres to go so I picked up the pace as much as I could. After a while I started to hear the cheering of the crowd and eventually I dropped down onto the triangular roof. I was still about fifty metres from the ground but it was enough for my purposes. Dropping down to one knee I looked over the parade square in front of the church. Shortly after the carriage came into view and parked up in front of the church. The emperor and his soon-to-be wife came out of the carriage and walked up to the doors of the church. Before they entered the emperor turned to give a speech. Now was my time to act. I switched to my main armour as the forty-year-old emperor began his speech.
After a while he finished, receiving wild cheers and applauding from the crowd. Just as he turned to go inside I jumped from the roof and brought my axe above my head. Everyone saw and for a few seconds the only noise was the wind again my armour. I landed and brought my axe down. A fountain of blood erupted from what used to be the emperor, covering my already crimson armour with another layer of red. The silence continued un-interrupted until the woman next to me screamed. Finally I picked my axe back up and turned to the crowd.
The second I removed my helmet I heard hundreds of people gasp. The soldiers were trying to move towards me but I turned off all their armour to give myself a few moments to give my announcement
"This is the fate of anyone… who would try and proclaim themselves above their citizens. Or anyone… who would lay claim to the title of emperor. The people deserve an elected government. And that is something I will fight for until the end of time."
Finally one of the guards managed to get out of their armour and, much to my annoyance, it was my dad.
"Zoh have you got any idea what you have done?"
"Of course I do. Otherwise I wouldn't have done it."
"I've had enough of you! Since you left this planet has been void of technological advancement and now you return, only to murder the emperor? When Lita brings you back I'm going to spend a week beating the hell out of you!"
"Good thing Lita won't be able to bring me back then."
I spun my axe so that I was holding it upside-down and slammed it into the ground. Lightening shot out in arcs and moments later I was back at the doors to the League. The ground was cracked where I had teleported in and my axe was embedded quite deep into it. I pulled it out and placed it back by my side.
The walk into the League building reminded me of all those weeks ago when I had first done this with Ahri by my side. This time I felt considerably lonelier but it didn't matter much to me. I got to the middle of the room and stopped for a moment to think. Ahri was going to still be asleep so I decided to give her a while longer. I looked around for something else to do and found that there was a notice on the notice-board asking for an un-affiliated champion to take part in a match. I took the pencil attached to the string next to it and signed my name in the space provided. Immediately I was teleported to the summoning room.
Looking at my team I knew I was in for quite the interesting game…
Thirty minutes later (16:00):
I ran through the mid lane towards their inhibitor tower with a single purpose in mind. Destroying that thing and getting my team an advantage. Behind me lay the bodies of three enemies who had made the mistake of attacking me. On my right side was the minion wave I would be sacrificing for the greater good. We got in range of the tower and immediately it started pounding the first line of minions with magical attacks. At the same time I tore it down piece by piece until it crumbled into a few pieces and exploded. Behind it was the inhibitor but now the enemy Vayne was in my way. She used her ultimate so I used mine. Once again I had to hold my laughter as she used everything she had on my clone which promptly disappeared, leaving her to think about the mistake she had made.
As I dropped down and destroyed her I thought back to what I had done earlier. There may have been a better way to do it but I didn't have much time to plan it.
I set myself a personal reminder to invent time-travel when I had some spare time.
Over the team-chat I heard the summoners on my team telling mine to push down the enemy nexus turrets as well before I went back. Being on just under half health I considered it a terrible idea but clearly my summoner thought otherwise. I watched helplessly as the enemy Tryndamere and Maokai killed me before I could deal a single bit of damage to either tower. Suddenly, and predictably, the sounds of encouragement from the summoners turned to shouting about how my summoner needed to learn how to play me.
The enemy team pushed down the middle lane and swept away my team with barely any resistance. I chuckled at the summoners on my team who were still arguing while the enemy team destroyed or nexus. The moment I appeared back in the summoning room I walked out the door. Whatever was going to happen between the summoners was not something I wanted to be a part of so I headed to the League bar instead. I was still tired from earlier so I had no doubts Ahri would be as well.
When I arrived at the bar I sat down next to Gragas and ordered a drink. He looked down at me with my drink and laughed at me.
"What the hell is that supposed to be? Are you trying to get drunk or are you already drunk and trying to get sober?"
"It's four PM Gragas. I'm not going to get drunk until it's at least five."
He laughed once more.
"If I were you I would be getting drunk right now, especially after a match like that."
"You saw that?"
"Everyone did! It was the only big match of the day! Hell, everyone thought it would be cancelled after Lee Sin dropped out at the last moment. But then you dropped in and everyone wanted to watch the new guy."
"Well, bugger. But I will just say that I didn't agree with continuing that push after the inhibitor."
"No-one did. If only you could have heard the shouting going on in this very room only minutes ago."
"Wonderful. Now I have one more thing I have to explain."
"Drink is always a good way to forget that stuff."
I stared down at my drink and thought for a second. Not long after I came to the conclusion that alcohol would only lead to more alcohol, especially with Gragas next to me. Instead I pushed the drink away and left the bar. I looked around for something to do but found very little. Still not wanting to wake Ahri up I went outside to the garden. I found a bench and sat down on it. When I looked up I realised that it was raining slightly. The constant patter of rain on the floor was somewhat comforting to me.
Most of my time in the League's gardens was spent contemplating why we did not have rain on my planet yet all of Runeterra relied so heavily on it. Whatever the reason I was glad to have it. My thought trail was interrupted by the summoner sitting down next to me.
"Hey Zoh, how's it going?"
"Fine. How about you?"
"Could be better. James appears to be on a mission to murder me by sleep-deprivation."
"He is a bit of a twat really."
"He's a baby. They all are."
"I'm still annoyed that he wouldn't say a word to either me or Ahri all day."
"As I said before he's a baby. He can't speak yet. For god's sake he can't even stand up properly yet."
"What's the point of babies? Are they good at anything?"
"Everyone was a baby at some point Zoh."
"I don't remember being one."
"No-one does. They have memory spans of about five seconds. In exceptional cases six."
"I feel like I could make something better than that."
"Zoh for the love of everything that is holy, don't try and build a person."
"Why does no-one want me to make a person? What is so wrong with it?"
"Because if you fuck it up then whoever you make is going to suffer terribly."
"That's only if it goes balls-up."
"It will. I have been told about your explosive tendencies by almost everyone you know."
"Fine. Just remember that if I do it in another dimension I will probably come over to this one and laugh at you."
"I don't think that's going to happen."
"Neither do I but the chance is all I care about."
"I'm going to go now. It's pretty miserable out here."
He walked away so I was once again alone with my thoughts. I was really starting to get bored so I decided it was about time I went and woke up Ahri. There was something else I could have done but for the life of me I could not remember what it was.
After a few minutes walking I came to the hallway where our room was. From one of the doors to my left a giant spider entered the hallway ahead of me. I swerved quite far to the right to avoid it. If Ahri was by my side I would not have been nearly as scared as I was, though the reason for that was not clear to me.
A few seconds later I reached the door to our room and opened it. From Ahri's room I heard faint crying which instantly made me worry. I walked over to it and peered through the slightly open door. Ahri was lying on her bed and punching herself in the stomach. She hit herself a final three times, each one sounding more painful than the last, before gripping her stomach in pain. Finally I was could watch no longer so I flung the door open and rushed to Ahri. She curled over away from me with her hand still clenching her stomach. I rested a knee on the bed and put my hand on her shoulder. When I did this she turned over and stared at me with tears in her eyes.
"Ahri what's wrong?"
She shook her head and hugged me. Ahri still wasn't saying anything so I had to comfort her more.
"It's okay. Whatever is wrong we will work it out together."
"No, it's not okay… I'm… I'm pregnant."
Oh damn plot-twist!
Mega late chapter is mega late so I'm going to keep these notes short.
*Short notes*
