*Mira's POV*
I saw Lucy standing by the job requests and went over to her.
"Hey, let me know if you find one you're interested in taking. The Master is away at the conference so I'm covering for him" I said.
"Conference?" Lucy asked.
I nodded, "It's one for guild masters. Occasionally, they all get together to talk about the state of things."
Lucy just nodded before heading over to a table. She was twirling one of her keys, Virgo I believe.
*Lucy's POV*
I had contracted Virgo on the way back from the Book mission. I let her call me Princess cause for some reason she didn't want to say my name. I'll have to work with her to overcome that mentality eventually. I twirled her key as I was thinking about the mages that I saw on the way back. I also ran into Gray on the way back, which was nice as we talked and caught up. Luna had found him first. And while we were walking we had found four mages who had warned us about Lullaby before disappearing into a shadow that took them.
*Gray's POV*
I noticed that Lucy had wandered off to a table and sat down. She seemed deep in thought so I decided to go see what she was thinking about, after all she did sense those mages before I did.
I poked her side, "Lucy, you okay?"
She looked up at me and smiled, "What's up Gray? I was thinking about something."
"I saw that you were thinking about something and decided to see what it was." I told her.
She shrugged, "I was just thinking. No worries."
I shrugged and went to sit with Cana. Natsu had come over to Lucy and they got into a conversation. I decided to pick on Natsu.
"Hey Lucy, I wouldn't stay with those losers if I were you. You'll get plenty of offers from other teams." I said just so that Natsu would be angry, I did not expect the reply.
"Well, I can still be a team with someone else while doing some missions with him right?" Lucy said with a wink.
I smirked. Natsu had apparently ignored her.
"Yeah jerk." Natsu yelled.
I looked around the guild to see that most had gotten it and were excited that Lucy would be working with most of them. I started a fight with Natsu and Lucy headed over to the bar over by Mira. As I fought him, I paid attention to the conversation that Lucy had with Mira. It was something that I learned from Lucy herself.
Mira was curious about Lucy's secondary magic, Wolf slayer magic. Lucy explained it and Macao started the chaos that was asking about Lucy's magic. It was interesting because we had two Wizard Saints in the guild and most people didn't know what her magic was.
"It's like dragon slaying magic, but it's more versatile. We however get to transform into wolves. We have the same abilities that a wolf does, so I could eat raw meat and be perfectly fine. Of course, I do cook my food, but in a pinch it will do." Lucy said.
*Lucy's POV*
Just then, one of the members had run back into the guild looking scared.
"Guys! Erza's coming!" he said.
I watched as the entire guild went quiet. Then there she was, standing in the doorway with a giant horn.
*Erza's POV*
I've just come back from another mission and another attempt at trying to find Lucy. That girl is really good at hiding herself, I could barely find anything on her besides the fact that she is the heir to the richest family in Fiore besides the royal family. I'm walking towards the guild with a giant horn I got from the mission. I headed for the guild doors which were already open. I placed the horn down and noticed a familiar blonde woman next to Mira.
"Is Master here? I have some important issues I'd like to discuss with him." I told Mira.
"Sorry Erza, Master's away at the conference," Mira replied.
I sighed, might as well gather Natsu and Gray to help me out with taking out the guild. They're more than capable though I wished Lucy were here. During the time we spent together, we were an inseparable pair, not only in friendship but also combat. Lucy had a knack for fighting and I greatly challenged her for it. I got my butt kicked every time but that doesn't matter.
"Erza, what the heck is that horn?" one of the members asked me. I explained while also getting angry at them for not liking it. I called people out for their problems to a point I stopped knowing they'd never stop. Master never cared, but I certainly do. I'm pretty sure Lucy would smack me in the head for this, knowing that because I did it to her.
I took another look at the girl next to Mira.
"Erza, why exactly did you take that mission?" Mira asked sweetly.
"I took it to find a long lost friend named Lucy." I said and my statement made the guild deadly silent.
"Um Erza, I think you should stop looking for her." Mira said nervously.
"Why?" I knew a dark aura was around me, which led to everyone backing away, apart from the girl.
I looked at her good. That sleeve was no mistake. It's Lucy. She changed so much but at the same time not so much. Her features have grown like mine to look like a stunning young woman.
"Because Lucy is right in front of you." Mira pushed Lucy a little closer to me.
Lucy's warm eyes finally met mine and I knew it was the same old Lucy I remember her to be. She smiled.
"Hey you." Lucy said softly.
I ran over to her while requipping out of my armor into normal clothes and gave her a tight hug. I didn't care about the tear that escaped my eye, all I cared about was the blonde in my arms. I felt her wrap her arms around me and I was truly happy. I had my best friend back.
"I missed you so much Lu." I whispered.
Lucy held me, "I missed you too Erza. Are you finally being soft?" she said teasingly. The only person who could and get away with it.
"Quit teasing me already. Unless you want your butt handed to you." I said smiling.
"Bring it on Scarlet. I got a word to pick with ya. What I say bout being a damn army general?" Lucy shot back with a grin.
"Forget about that." I said and finally let go of Lucy. I looked around the guild for Natsu and Gray. As much as I want Lucy to do this with me alone, it'll be better off to have a strong team to finish it off faster with a high chance of success.
"Where's Natsu and Gray?" I asked.
"Right here...Erza." Gray replied.
It's funny how I scare them so easily. I'll definitely try this on Lucy if she decides to use her actions instead of her brains.
"I have a favor to ask of you both. While traveling, I heard something that has me concerned. Normally I'd consult with the Master about this before deciding a course of action but seeing as he is not here. I need your help to accompany me on this mission." I spoke firmly. The boys looked at each other. I looked at Lucy and smiled. Lucy just stood there smirking.
"I'll help you on one condition, Erza." Natsu stated.
"Oh? And what's that?" I was genuinely curious as to what he was going to ask.
"Lucy comes with us." he said.
"Oh I was already coming flame brain." Lucy said.
Natsu tried to pick a fight with her but ended up on the floor of the guild hall. Lucy reached a hand out to me and I took it. We headed out of the guild and caught up a bit on what happened. She told me that she is much stronger now and has a butt load of keys. She also has limiters and was made a Wizard Saint by the council, thus making her an S-class Wizard Saint. I knew she was an S-class mage since she had that rank before I did. The day we were supposed to leave, I made it to the train station by nine with my cart filled with luggage. I also noticed Gray and Natsu butting heads for a second before Gray stopped and Natsu got pummeled into the ground by Lucy. I greeted the group hoping I wasn't too late.
Gray and Natsu hugged each other like best friends and Lucy's expression turned from annoyed to astonished to amused fast. Natsu challenged me to a battle when we got back. On the train, Natsu was motion sick.
"You challenged Erza earlier and you're here like this." Gray said.
Natsu just groaned. Lucy was sitting next to Natsu and Gray was with me. I made Gray move and knocked Natsu out so that we wouldn't have to deal with his moans of pain.
"So Erza, what's your magic? I know we talked about it but I haven't seen it. I'm curious." Lucy said.
Happy answered, "Erza's magic is beautiful and it makes people bleed!"
"I believe Gray's magic is more beautiful than mine." I said.
Gray created an emblem of the Fairy Tail mark made of ice on his open palm. Lucy smiled.
"It's been ages since I saw your magic. Good to know that it became prettier over the years brother. Maybe we could have a make off when we get back after Erza's done bashing Natsu into the ground." Lucy said.
Gray smiled before turning to me. "Erza, I think it's about time you started filling us in. I mean, what kind of mission are we going on here?"
"Of course. I have reason to believe the dark guild Eisenwald is planning something big. I'm not sure what exactly but it has to do with a magic item called "Lullaby"." I explained.
"Lullaby?" Gray and happy said at the same time.
I looked at Lucy, who I knew traveled a lot, she had a distant look in her eyes. She stood up and leaned against the door as Gray started telling me about their run in with a band of castouts from the Eisenwald guild and that the person or thing that took them didn't want something revealed.
"So your saying it's possible that whoever dragged off those wizards is part of the Eisenwald guild?" Gray asked.
"It's only a hypothesis, but yes. I'm assuming they did that because they don't want their plans getting found out." I said.
"What do you think their plan is?" Lucy asked from her spot standing by the door.
I explained what I saw on the way back from my mission.
"I can't believe I was such a fool that day," I continued, "I didn't recognize his name. Erigor the ACE of Eisenwald. He only accepts assassination requests, which is why he is named Erigor the Reaper."
Gray seemed shocked by it and I explained why the council outlawed assassination requests.
"How could I have been so careless? If I could have recognized Erigor's name that day I could have pulverized them! I could have forced them to reveal their scheme to me!" I was angry.
"No." Lucy piped up.
I glared at her but she just stared at me calmly.
"You wouldn't have been able to do anything. If anything it would get around that a guild is looking for them and they would go underground. Or you would have gotten hurt because they figured out that you knew. Or killed themselves before revealing any plans to you. Erigor doesn't give two shits about who dies and who lives as long as he gets what he wants. You probably saved those mages from being killed. If this plan is as big as you think, and those mages gave it away and Erigor found out, they would have been killed for treason and you hunted down before you could reveal the plan." Lucy said with a distant and cold look.
"What do you mean Lucy? How do you know this?" Gray asked since I was too shocked by the cold tone in her voice.
"Gray, I know this because I've faced hundreds of dark guilds. Each one were willing to kill to get what they wanted with no care for anything but themselves. These people are willing to deceive, trick, fool, play others to get what they want. They are even willing to kill those in the way. It's either follow the leader or die trying to escape." Lucy said and with that she walked off.
"What was that about?" I asked.
"Don't know." Gray replied as Natsu was still unconscious.
When we got off the train Natsu was left. We went after him and to the station. I sped down the tracks. Once we were at the station, we saw that the military had been called into action.
"I can understand hijacking a car or a boat, but a train? Something's not right." Lucy said.
"I agree, but the train is quite fast." I mentioned.
Lucy was deep in thought. Just as I was about to get to the SE plug, Lucy pushed me out of the way. I glared at her since we didn't have time for this.
"Erza, let me drive, you need rest." Lucy stated.
I couldn't say no to that tone and she knew it. So I hopped into the back and we were off at a much faster clip than what I was going at. We got to Oshibana station and fought off the guild. I realized that the target wasn't the station, it was the guild master conference. We had to get through the wind wall and Kage was the only one who could undo it. I was arguing with Gray about his usefulness and Natsu was screaming at Karakka when Lucy piped up.
"Erza." Lucy's tone was sharp and commanding, "What do we need this guy for?"
"You haven't seen the wind wall yet?" Gray asked.
She nodded, "Yes, I can get us out."
*Gray's POV*
Natsu, Erza and I were following Lucy to the barrier. She stopped and looked at it.
"Hmmm, rather impressive up close." Lucy said.
"Yeah, great whatever." Natsu muttered, "Now can you get us out or was that all talk?"
He squeaked in fright when Erza glared daggers at him for that.
"Of course I can get us out." Lucy said, "Open Gate of the Maiden. Virgo."
A spirit in the form of a teenage girl wearing a maid outfit with chains around her wrists and sporting short pink hair appeared, "Yes Princess?" she said.
"I need you to dig a tunnel under this. One that leads from here to the other side. Can you do that?" Lucy asked.
The maiden nodded and she sank straight into the ground. A few seconds later and she was waving to us from the other side.
"Way to go Lu." I said.
"I wouldn't expect anything less." Erza said with a smile.
We got out and Natsu had disappeared. Lucy followed Natsu on Luna. Erza and I followed in the four-wheeler. When Erza and I arrived, the battle was done.
*Erza's POV*
We arrived and Gray hopped out.
"Natsu!" Gray shouted.
Natsu turned around and smiled, "Oh it's you guys. You're too late, we're done with him already."
"Aye!"
I smirked tiredly, "well done, you two."
I felt someone support me and I looked to see Lucy there. Of course things just got worse and Kage took the flute and the car and disappeared. Lucy came up with the idea to use Gray's magic to create a car and then used her magic to propel the car down the tracks. We got there just in time to see Kage hesitating.
He gave up after Master's speech, but then the flute began smoking.
"I can no longer hold back! I shall come forth to devour you myself!" the flute said, and it transformed to its demonic form, "I shall dine upon your pitiful souls!"
"So, that's Lullaby's demonic form…" Lucy said.
I was shocked at how big Lullaby was and it was apparent that most of the others were spirits showing up right next to her before flitting out of sight. I watched as several holes were made in the body. She also used her other magic. The oddest thing happened, right before Lucy rammed into it with her spirits, the demon looked uneasy.
She was completely kicking its ass.
"Holy crap...she's really strong out there!" Natsu yelled.
Gray just smirked and I got out my twin blades, "Ready? We can't make Lucy do all the work."
"Oh yeah!"
And so Natsu, Gray and I joined the fight. The fight didn't last long after that, but neither did the conference hall. Though there was less of a worry cause Lucy had repaired the conference building with a spell. After that, she fell asleep, on her feet. I caught her and held her close. I smiled as she curled up and latched onto me. With that, we headed away from the conference building.
