Lincoln sat in his room, eyes closed thinking to himself about what his grandfather had told him the day before. Everything he said made perfect sense to him, but he still couldn't help but feel nervous over the thought of what could happen if he looked at a Casagrande the wrong way. The recent event had put his entire plan for himself into question. If he did make enough money to leave Michigan, then what? The Casagrandes were the most prominent drug family in the entire world, they could track him down quickly if they wanted to. And Lucy's words... would he leave his family to fend for themselves while he ran off to make a better life for himself? Lincoln got up with a sigh, needing something to take his mind off all of this crap.
As soon as he got to his feet, his phone began to buzz. He pulled it out of his pocket to see that it was his "Girlfriend" Jordan. "Yeah?" Lincoln asked. "Hello to you too, ungrateful ass," Jordan replied with a huff. "I've sold the last of that stuff you gave me so-" Lincoln cut her off with a shout down the phone. "How many fucking times do I have to tell you NOT to discuss this shit on the phone?! Fucks sake, Jordan!" Another huff could be heard. "And I've told YOU the cops in this city are so useless they could hear this phone call and not give a shit! stop stressing-" Lincoln again, cut her off. "No. Come to my house and talk to me then." He hung up before she could utter another word. Lincoln had been more appreciative of Jordan these past few weeks but clearly that didn't change the fact she was an idiot.
Lincoln headed out of his room, raising his eyebrow at the lack of usual chaos caused by his sisters. He went knocking on the doors to his sister's rooms and got no response. He was starting to panic when a voice from Leni and Lori's room called to him. "Lincoln, come in here." Lincoln rolled his eyes as Luna called to him but followed her inside nonetheless. Inside the room, all of his sisters minus Lori and Lynn were in the room, seemingly waiting for him.
"Oh great. Alright, I can take a good guess on what this will be about." Lucy gestured for him to sit down next to her and he did so with a sigh. Luna stood in the middle of the room to address all of her sisters and her brother. "Listen, Linc... we need to talk about what happened to you-" Lincoln quickly cut her off. "We really don't. I'm doing better and I've got a good idea of what I need to do going forward." Lincoln was bullshitting and he knew it. His mind was scrambled and all his plans for the future had collapsed at his feet. "Man with the plan" Huh?
Lucy scoffed. "That's horseshi-" She was cut off and cringed as Luan stepped on her foot. "Not in front of Lily and the others!" she whispered to Lucy who subtly flipped Luan off with one hand while holding her foot with the other. Luan ignored it and began talking. "What Lucy is TRYING to say is, we don't believe you. The Casagrandes are rarely forgiving, Linc. It's beyond a miracle you survived the first time. You won't survive the second." Lincoln sat there in silence for a moment before giving a reply.
"Look, I appreciate your concern but.. the one who did this to me was Carl. I talked with our dear old murderous grandfather and he made some good points that make me think he won't murder me even if he wants to. I mean, his brother is dating Lori after all." Lisa was the next one to speak up. "Use your head, brother. If the Casagrandes wish to eliminate you, they can surely make it look like an accident that Lori would not suspect." Great. Now his sister had destroyed what little comfort he felt from Albert's words and that feeling of dread was rising in his chest once more. Lincoln let out a huff and stood up. "Well, what would all you have me do? keep working for these monsters forever? no matter how much money I make, no matter where I go, they could track me down and off me anytime they please. The only way out of this that I can see would be to remove the Casagrandes and... yeah, that's not happening. So what do you all suggest I do?"
Lincoln was greeted with silence. He continued to wait for a response and was about to walk out when Luna spoke up. "What if we tell Lori?" Lincoln stopped in his tracks and turned to face her. "You want to tell Lori? she'd mention it to Bobby and then I'd be dead within the hour, Luna! that won't work." Luna glared and stormed over to him. "Well, it's better than doing nothing! These people are psychopaths and sooner or later something bad is gonna happen! At least if you tell Lori... there might be a chance to stop it!" Lincoln turned on his heel away from Luna. "Look, Luna, you don't know how these things work. I'll figure something out just... give me time." Lincoln walked away from his sisters, hearing one last comment from Luna. "That's the thing, Linc... We don't know how much time we've got left."
