Summary: Something's on Kate's mind...

Pairing: Tony/Kate

Disclaimer: Sadly, I don't own them or NCIS.

Oneshot. Fluff warning. Sorry about the shortness! It's my first fic.

Kate sat there, aimlessly playing with the edges of a stack of paperwork which she should have been doing.

But she couldn't.

She frowned slightly. Lately she had been so distracted. So distracted with thoughts of…

Her eyes flicked to the desk across from hers to lie upon an amused Dinozzo quietly going through McGee's PDA, snickering quietly.

No.

That was ridiculous.

She wasn't getting enough sleep. That was why she couldn't concentrate. It had nothing – absolutely nothing – to do with Tony Dinozzo.

Dinozzo paused slightly as if sensing her eyes on him, before looking up straight at her. She looked down again quickly, but cringed inwardly, knowing there was no way Dinozzo could have missed her staring at him.

"Something up, Katie?"

"I told you not to call me that, Tony," she ground out tenaciously, eyes fixed on the paperwork in front of her – as if I had any idea what it was, Kate thought wryly. It was the same sheet that had been there when she had sat down at her desk that morning.

He grinned. "That's why it's so funny," he replied cheerfully.

He sauntered over to her desk.

Oh, No.

"Tony…" She feigned a frustrated sigh and looked up. "What do you want?"

"Actually Katie," he flashed a grin, leaning on the front of her desk. "I think it's more a question of what you want."

Kate's mouth turned downwards in thought. What was that supposed to mean?

He leaned closer, so close she could feel his breath on her face, so close her heart stopped beating.

Too close.

"I'm not blind, Kate," and this time he was serious.

"Blind about…what?" Kate whispered. She was sure some part of her knew what was coming next…

Either that or she was becoming as ditzy as the blonde he had dated last month.

"This," and with that he had closed the small distance between them, pressing lips against her and all it was, was her hands in his hair and his smell engulfing her. And for those precious few seconds there was nothing else. A Marine could have been murdered, Gibbs could have found them and she wouldn't have cared.

But all good things come to an end and they broke apart panting.

It wasn't long before a grin started to spread across his features.

"Always knew you had something for me, Kate," he grinned.

Kate reached out to cuff him around the head.

Hope it's alright! ;) Reviews would be appreciated; I can handle flames as long as they're not too harsh! I would have liked to explore the relationship between Tony and Kate a bit more. Edited 15/7/06
