Author's Note: Hello again, dear readers! Welcome to the second chapter of this daring crossover! First I would like to deeply apologize for the long, long wait! My personal and college life has been a huge burden on me, but now that I've finally graduated and my life gets a little bit calm, I can update more frequently (hopefully…). Also a huge, huge thank you to my friend, the one and only JustAnAverageGuy101, who has been helping me a lot with discussions and brainstorming and a bunch of other stuff! Again, I welcome any supportive criticisms and input, but no flames, please! That being said, I wouldn't keep you any longer! So, on with the story!

Hearing the unfamiliar name of the new World History teacher raised a few eyebrows, both from the members of the faculty present, to the students in Midoriya's class itself. But it quickly passes from everybody's minds and each individual's train of thought eventually settles to the fact that the name "Kent Nelson" is nowhere near a conventional name in Japan.

'A foreigner, then' most of the class thought at the same time.

'Tch. What's a foreign teacher doing, wasting his time in a craphole school like this?' Katsuki thought.

"Ahh, a pleasure to meet you Nelson-san." Izuku's classroom teacher, Yukawa Saburo, politely bowed to the new foreign teacher, if only to maintain his courteous façade in front of Principal Tomio, who is still hovering near the entrance to Izuku's classroom.

"The pleasure is mine, Saburo-san" Mr. Nelson bowed back. But the gesture looked flimsy, either due to Mr. Nelson's inexperience with Japanese culture (which is odd, since he spoke Japanese very fluently, Izuku thought), or due to his frailty at such an advanced age.

"Well, I would be remiss if I hindered your class any longer. If you have any questions regarding Nelson-san, you can ask them at our faculty meeting after school, Saburo-san." Principal Tomio announced.

"Of course, Principal-san," Saburo answered back.

With the formalities over, Principal Tomio and Mr. Nelson walked out of the class, leaving Saburo and his students alone once more. After that little display, class finally got back to its usual pace, with Izuku's humiliating debacle quickly forgotten by his classmates (After all, it's almost becoming a routine they were quite used to) in favor of gossiping about the new mysterious, foreign teacher.

Even though they were going to graduate in a few months, the class still needs to finish a few subjects, and it seems that Mr. Nelson is definitely going to be teaching their class. Izuku heard a few hushed murmurs from his classmates, ranging from boorish comments about Mr. Nelson's age ("That geezer looked like he's going to keel over any second!"), his choice of clothing ("Looks kinda expensive, don'tcha think?") to one boy mentioning Miss Makinami's sudden and equally mysterious resignation from her teaching position ("I mean, how could she have won the lottery? There was no lottery!").

In his mind, Izuku reached a distinct yet puzzling conclusion: there is no question, something fishy is going on here. The hairs on the back of his neck are standing and his instincts are going crazy, but whether that is because of his apprehension towards his new World History teacher, or his deteriorating relationship with his childhood best friend, he didn't know.

'Boy, it's going to be one of those days, huh…?' Izuku thought with a resigned sigh.

After a long and grueling day at Aldera Junior High, it is finally time for the students to leave school and go home. Of course, some of these youths decided not to go straight to their homes after yet another punishing session of learning at school, and so chose to go frolicking around Musutafu, going to karaoke or playing at the various arcades available at the town.

But these thoughts are far from the ones that are currently in our young protagonist's mind.

'The incident this morning is all over the headlines! I should hurry up and go home so I can write it down in my notebook…' mused Izuku.

But before he could even pick up his books and stationaries, a rough hand grabbed and yanked his shoulder.

"We're not done talking yet, Deku..." growled Bakugou.

Izuku felt his body freeze and his eyes going moist already. He turned around and looked at his once childhood best friend. He clutched his "Hero Analysis for the Future" notebook in shaky hands, hoping against hope that…

"Hey Katsuki, what's that in the loser's hands?" One of Bakugou's cronies asked.

Well, there goes that wish…

"Huh? "Hero Analysis for the Future"? Seriously? HAHAHA! Fuck, Midoriya! You're even more delusional than we thought!" Crony number 2 sneered, as he plucked the notebook from Izuku's trembling hands.

"Hey, H-hey! C'mon, give it back!" Izuku pleaded.

Before Izuku could even make a move to grab his precious Hero notebook, Bakugou snatched it from his bootlicker's hand and exploded it with his Quirk.

"Whaaa…? No!" Izuku mewled while looking in horror.

Not done just yet, Bakugou decided to go the extra mile and threw Izuku's charred notebook out the classroom's window.

"What?!" Izuku shrieked as he looked at what Bakugou had done in dread and disbelief.

"Hmph!" Bakugou snorted.

With a savage and cruel gleam in his eyes, he started his "friendly" appeal to the pathetic nerd.

"Look, shitty Deku, most Top Pro-Heroes have stories about them from their school days. I want the shine of being able to be called the only student to make it into U.A. from this shithole Junior High School." Bakugou said.

"I mean, I am a perfectionist." He continued with a viciously callous smile.

Bakugou then put his hand on his childhood friend's shoulder, with the malicious intent to hurt him, all the while still wearing that seemingly affable smile.

"So... Don't apply to U.A., nerd." Bakugou said, sending his message clear to Izuku, while simultaneously burning the young man's shoulder.

After the deplorable act was done, with the remaining students in the classroom either gone or looking on in sadistic amusement, Bakugou and his cronies decided to leave the class.

One of the cronies looked at Izuku's sad and broken state, and said "Come on, you could at least say something back, you pussy!"

"Don't say that, man! Can't expect this loser to stand up for himself!" The other crony guffawed.

Wanting to twist the proverbial knife even further, Bakugou then shouted "Actually Deku, if you wanna be a Hero that badly, there's a quick way to do it! Just believe that you'll be born with a Quirk in your next life and take a swan dive off the fucking roof!"

Izuku looked at Bakugou's form so quickly he felt he could get whiplash. He looked on in abject shock and horror, as he couldn't believe the words that came out of his childhood friend's mouth.

Bakugou noticed, and stopped his strutting out of the classroom and turned his head back at Izuku, a challenging look on his face.

"What, loser?!" He shouted.

Izuku's fight-or-flight instinct quickly left him, and he just stood there, broken, tears streaming down his cheeks.

Bakugou smirked evilly. "Yeah. That's what I thought, shitty nerd." He sneered.

After that whole debacle, Izuku took some time to calm himself and finally left his classroom. He quickly strode through the hallways and bounded down the stairs, hurriedly going towards the school's koi pond where he saw his Hero notebook fall after Bakugou threw it out. His thoughts are also racing fast because of what Bakugou said earlier.

'That stupid idiot! If I really jumped, that would mean you instigated a suicide! Think before you speak!' Izuku raged in his mind.

But what Izuku didn't know was that in his hasty and agitated state, he was running straight towards Aldera's newest addition to the faculty, Mr. Kent Nelson. Izuku could just make out the shape of an older gentleman turning the corner before he abruptly collided with the figure.

"Aahh!" Izuku shouted in surprise, with a bit of pent-up frustration leaking out.

When Izuku was finally able to look up, after landing oh-so-gracefully on his butt, he saw the aged face of his new World History teacher. Izuku's irritation evaporated instantly and was replaced with embarrassment and panic. He quickly tried to apologize to his newest sensei.

"I am so, so sorry Mr. Nelson-san! I never intended to bump into you, Sir! I was just in a hurry because my notebook fell into the koi pond and I just really need to get it back because I spent a lot of time into it and it's really important to me and my goals to be a Pro-Hero so again, I'm really, really sorry that-"

While in the middle of his famous muttering, he never saw Kent looking at his student's form with a calculating eye, like he's trying to solve a particularly stubborn and confusing puzzle. But within a second that look was gone from his eyes, and he helped the young man to his feet.

"It's quite alright, young man. I was also at fault for not paying much attention to my surroundings. But I accept your apology, mister…?" He both said and asked calmly.

"Oh… Oh! Right, my name is Midoriya Izuku, sir! Or is it Izuku Midoriya for you, sir? Because of your background, I guess the naming system here in Japan can get confusing at times, I also wonder about the-" Izuku muttered, again.

"As interesting as discussing the differences in Japanese and most of the western world's tradition in an individual's name, which I realize can be quite an enlightening analysis for a bright young man such as yourself, I remember you mentioned something about a 'Hero notebook' and its current location in the school's koi pond?" Kent asked Izuku with mirth in his voice.

"Ah! Tha-That's right!" Izuku stammered out, still feeling nervous around the new teacher.

"Well, I believe I've seen the pond you mentioned at the back of the school. Would you like me to accompany you, Midoriya-san?" Kent asked the timid boy beside him.

"No-no sir, I really don't want to impose, I'm sure you have something more important to do, sir…" Izuku muttered out meekly.

"Nonsense young man! It would be my pleasure! I was just done dealing with those clowns I have the displeasure of calling colleagues in the faculty meeting…" Kent trailed off with a soft growl.

"And It's always a good idea to stretch out these old bones of mine!" Kent assured the boy with a smile.

"O-oh… W-well then… If you're sure sir…" Izuku continued hesitantly.

"Well, lead the way, Midoriya-san." Kent told Izuku.

Walking alongside his newest teacher, Izuku couldn't help but feel a bit guarded, not knowing the true goal of the older gentleman walking with him. But he felt more and more at ease when Mr. Nelson continued the conversation between the both of them by asking trivial questions about the boy's family, home, and commenting on Izuku's stellar achievement in his academic records. But then everything came to a halt when Mr. Nelson asked about the boy's Quirk.

"If I may be so bold, what is your Quirk, young man? Must be something quite extraordinary to suit someone such as yourself…" Kent trailed off.

Midoriya abruptly stopped in his tracks and a shadow came over his eyes, as he suddenly looked downcast. Nelson sensed this as he also stopped walking and quickly said "I assure you it's nothing to be ashamed of young-"

But he was quickly cut off as Izuku suddenly said "I'm actually Quirkless, sir…"

Kent looked taken aback, surprised but not disturbed. "Quirkless, eh?" He asked himself.

'Here it comes…' Izuku thought, mentally bracing himself for the teacher's insults and mocking laughter.

"Simply remarkable!" Kent exclaimed, grinning to himself.

"Huh?!" Izuku shouted, completely thrown off guard.

"I said it was remarkable! A brilliant young man such as yourself, humble and selfless, complete with a strong moral compass, is something of a rarity in my long life, and believe me, I have lived quite a long life…" Kent said with total conviction.

"Ehh…?!" Izuku exclaimed, still frozen in disbelief.

"I can without a doubt say that you'll make a spectacular Hero, young man!" Kent declared confidently.

Izuku finally listens to what the older gentleman had to say about him and his lifelong dream, and after taking a moment to reboot his brain, he ultimately honed in on the man's last statement.

"A-a H-hero… Me…?" Izuku tearfully asked again, voice just above a whisper.

"Of course, young man. From what I've gathered, isn't that what your dream is?" Kent asked again with a smile on his face.

"B-but… I don't even have a Quirk!" Izuku exclaimed, disbelieving.

"Pish-posh! Anyone can be a Hero, Quirk or no Quirk! The only things you need are an incredible amount of mental fortitude and an uncompromising willingness to do the right thing, even if it's arduously difficult at times." Kent stated.

"A-and, you saw all of t-that, in m-me…?" Izuku asked his new teacher yet again, still in heavy doubt.

Mr. Nelson then kneeled down to Izuku's eye level, clasped his right hand on Izuku's shoulder, and looked him dead in the eyes.

"Izuku, you have all that, and more, in spades young man… It's been a while since I met someone with such a gentle and gracious soul such as yourself. That is the proper trait of a true Hero in the making, not brute strength or flashy powers! But the pure strength of the heart." Kent finished his short speech to Izuku with a sincere smile.

Hic… hic… Tears started to trickle down Izuku's cheeks, and before you know it, the floodgates opened and Izuku started crying his eyes out.

But these tears are different, they are not borne out of despair and heartache, these tears are borne out of happiness and a renewed sense of hope.

Without any warning, Izuku launched himself into Kent, suddenly hugging the older gentleman, and started bawling happy tears.

"THANK YOU, THANK YOU SOO MUCHH SIR! I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD HEAR THAT FROM ANYBODY! I'VE EVEN GIVEN UP HOPE ON HEARING THAT FROM ANYONE ELSE! SO THANK YOU, SIRR!" Izuku shouted while sobbing his eyes out. He didn't care if anybody heard what he said, he didn't even care if he got kicked out of school right then and there!

The bloody ground would open up and eat him alive at that point but he wouldn't care, because somebody finally believed in him! Somebody finally said that "He could be a Hero!"

Kent never expected his words to affect the young man so strongly, so he just kneeled there and gently hugged back, all while rubbing soothing circles onto his young student's back, patiently waiting until Izuku calmed down.

After Izuku did just that and released the older man from his impromptu hug, Izuku suddenly realized what he just did and shyly stammered out "S-sorry for t-that sir! It's just that-"

"It's quite alright young Midoriya! I'm aware of the tribulations and adversity the Quirkless population can experience on a day-to-day basis, so I am more than happy to help ease the pain, somewhat… After all, we Quirkless people need to stick together, eh?" Kent said with a cheeky wink to the young man.

"Y-you're Quirkless too, Nelson-san?" Izuku asked.

"Yes. And if I've learned anything from my youth is that being Quirkless is nothing to be ashamed of. In fact, it is something to take pride in, the fact that we can compete or even excel in certain subjects without a so-called "superpower" to ease the way." Kent said resolutely.

Izuku looked at his new World History teacher with more respect and awe. "Wow… You're really cool, Nelson-san!" Izuku beamed.

"Well, I'm glad to be considered "cool" by at least one of you ankle-biters here on my first day. I guess that's one thing scratched off the ol' bucket list!" Kent said jokingly.

"Pffft… Hahaha!" Izuku laughed.

"Now, let's get that Hero notebook of yours, shall we?" Kent said.

After their heart-to-heart session, they finally made haste to the school's Koi Pond. Surprisingly, Izuku's Hero notebook isn't as ruined as he thought it would be. It's pages were a little soggy and a bit shredded, but it's nothing that he can't salvage.

"So, this is your personal Hero notebook, Midoriya-san?" Kent asked the boy.

"That's right, sir!" Izuku answered.

"May I, Midoriya-san?" Kent asked Izuku for permission, while extending his hand towards the book.

"Uhh, sure, here you go, Nelson-san!" Izuku said, offering the teacher one of his prized Hero notebooks.

Kent took a few moments to take a gander at the pages. While far from being in immaculate condition, it is still comprehensible, for the most part.

"Color me impressed, Midoriya-san! This is truly fascinating!" Kent said to the astonished young man.

"R-really? Y-you think s-so, sir? I-I m-mean, it's nothing m-much, I just-" Izuku tried to downplay it.

"The amount of details and information on these pages are quite exceptional, Midoriya-san! And the pictures are drawn perfectly! Is it not too far off to say that these are all hand-drawn?" Ken asked, still awed by the notebook in his hands.

Izuku could only nod his head.

"Simply phenomenal! And to think you have even more of these in your possession…" Kent mused to himself.

Kent then finally closed the notebook and gave it back to Izuku, but not without saying "You must have an astute mind upon those shoulders of yours, Midoriya-san…" Kent politely said.

Izuku could only blush in embarrassment. He quickly shook himself out of it and said "Thank you, Nelson-san! You're too kind!" Izuku said while bowing to his new teacher.

With a smile, Kent retorted by saying "The pleasure is all mine, Midoriya-san!" with Kent also bowing to his new student.

Izuku then put his drying notebook into his backpack, with Kent watching him with a smile. Suddenly, Kent snapped his head eastward, towards the tunnel Izuku usually takes to get home from Aldera Junior High.

This action was not unnoticed by Izuku, however. He looked at his new favorite teacher in the whole school (not that it's much of a competition) with a worried look.

"Is something wrong, Nelson-san?" Izuku asked, apprehensive.

In a blink of an eye, Kent regained his pleasant smile and calm expression. He then says "Oh, it's nothing to worry about, dear boy! Just an old man's musings, that's all." Kent reassured Izuku.

Placated by his teacher's calming aura, Izuku then finally bid farewell to Kent Nelson.

"Okay then Nelson-san! Thank you again for everything! See you tomorrow!" Izuku said while running home.

"A pleasure to make your acquaintance, dear boy! And be careful on your way!" Kent shouted while waving goodbye.

Izuku, though, didn't hear what his new favorite teacher had to say, as he was busy being elated at the thought of someone believing in his dream. His thoughts are filled with hundreds of plans, from workout agendas to diets, so that he could make his dream into reality as soon as possible.

He never had the thought of looking back, where, if he did, he would see Kent Nelson being engulfed by a golden yellow-ish light in the form of an Egyptian ankh.
