Mary dawdled in the alley, getting ice cream from Fortescue's and making a quick trip to a Muggle stationary shop to get pens, pencils, and notebooks to start a collection of information on supernatural creatures from the States. She figured it would be useful to have one place with all of the information if worst came to worst - which it usually did around her. When she did go back to get her new wand, she had already resolved what she was going to do with the old one.
When she got back to her room at the Leakey Cauldron, she sat to write a letter.
Voldemort,
I never wanted anything to do with this war or with you. I was upset when I learned that you killed my parents, but I'm done with them and I'm done with you. Enclosed is my Holly and phoenix feather wand. It was never truly mine. If you continue your war efforts, I would like to request that you do not actively seek out and kill the following: Remus Lupin, Sirius Black, Bill Weasley, Charlie Weasley, Fred Weasley, George Weasley, Ginny Weasley, Neville Longbottom, and Luna Lovegood. If you choose to fight this through politics, - and only then - I leave you the Potter seats. If not, then they will be given to those I have previously specified with my account manager. I agree with your original goals, but after you went insane and started preaching blood purity, I didn't. Regain your sanity, help the Wizarding World, and hopefully you'll never see me again.
Good luck,
Mary Rose Potter
Mary snapped her wand of four years and put it in an envelope with the letter once the ink had dried. She resolved to send it as soon as she got to the airport with the others rather than give him a chance to find her. She packed her bag, leaving out a couple of books to look through until she went to the airport the next morning. She then grabbed her new phone to try to get used to it, anxious for the next day.
