It was Monday, the worst day of the week, and Eve felt it even harder today. After last Friday's meeting, Eve had decided to avoid her office as much as possible. If not for the memory of what happened, but more so because she didn't want to face Villanelle yet. Eve had already been avoiding her phone all weekend on the chance Villanelle had texted her. Surprisingly though, when Eve checked her messages she was only met with one from Bill about the uselessness of the meeting.
Eve took it one step further to ensure that she wouldn't have to see Villanelle until their designated time though. She had decided to cancel the few office hours she held today so she wouldn't have to be in her office. Granted most students didn't take advantage of them, but if Eve could stay away from her office until she had to be there she'd take any excuse. Further, Eve decided to spend most of her time between classes at a nearby coffee shop. It was absolutely not because she was avoiding Villanelle, she told herself, as she took a sip from her latte.
Sure she could have retreated to the psych break room, but Eve wanted to keep any chance of seeing Villanelle to a minimum. If that required taking a few extra minutes to walk somewhere she normally didn't frequent then so be it, Eve thought. A chance in atmosphere also allowed Eve to obsessively rehearse what she was going to say without anyone interrupting her either.
All weekend she was prepared to tell Villanelle how they needed to make sure they were being professional and that last Friday was a mistake on Eve's end. She planned to apologize to Villanelle for encouraging her, but they needed to put an end to it so neither of them would have to face any long lasting consequences. The last thing Eve wanted for herself- or any colleague–was an irredeemable fuck up that was easily avoidable.
While all that was true, she still was entertaining the idea of what could happen if she did succumb to Villanelle. Eve sighed as she nursed her latte and fiddled with her scarf. Regardless of how she felt–and Villanelle did bring out something in her–Eve knew she had to be the level headed one and put a stop to things. If not for her own sanity, but to ensure she didn't screw up the first year of her tenure.
When she arrived at the psych building, Villanelle, as always, was waiting outside the lecture hall. Instead of falling into their usual greeting–which consisted of a flirty comment from Villanelle that was promptly ignored by Eve–Villanelle's back was facing her. Eve felt relief and was hopeful that she could maybe slip by Villanelle with limited contact until after class. When she got closer though, Eve noticed that there was someone else waiting with Villanelle. Eve stopped in her tracks once she had fully comprehended what was happening.
Normally Eve could ignore if two students were passionately making out in front of her door–it had happened before. This, however, wasn't just a random set of young, horny college students who couldn't keep it in their pants. This was some random girl and Villanelle. Eve wanted to desperately ignore whatever wave of emotions washed over her, but the longer she looked the more Eve knew it was beginning to surface.
It wasn't like they were an exclusive item. Fuck, Eve wasn't even sure what exactly they were after everything that had happened. So why did she care if Villanelle made out with some random girl, Eve wondered. It shouldn't bother her at all since Eve was constantly trying to keep clear boundaries between them. Though those boundaries had blurred and shifted after last Friday, Eve thought, when she gave Villanelle her mobile number. Despite every feeble attempt Eve tried to deny Villanelle's advances, Eve had fully subcommed to her own demise. Eve could no longer deny how her body was betraying her as she watched Villanelle kiss someone else. And right now there was only one word Eve could muster that encompassed what she felt. Jealousy. Pure, unbridled jealousy.
A gasp from Villanelle pulled Eve back to reality. The sight of the other girl as she made advances down Villanelle's neck was the final straw. Eve cleared her throat to make her presence known. This caused the two to suddenly break apart as realization set in. Villanelle turned to stare at Eve with a cocky smile, but Eve only stared back blankly. Eve's stomach churned as she tried to contain her emotions–that she wished she could physically bury somewhere deep and far away–as Villanelle shifted her weight to lean against the wall. Neither of them were willing to back down and held the other's stare, daring one of them to speak first.
"Uhm," the girl said, breaking the tension. "I'll be going then. Thank you." She walked past them with her head bowed.
"Real professional," Eve said once the girl was out of earshot.
"Am I not allowed to say goodbye to someone?"
Not if it involves sucking their face off, Eve thought as she bit her tongue. Before she could open the lecture hall door, she felt Villanelle's hand on her elbow.
"Hey," she whispered. "Don't be jealous. I'm not with them, when I'm with them, you know?" Villanelle took a step closer to Eve.
Eve easily pulled herself out of Villanelle's grip and silently walked into the room.
Throughout the entire class period, Eve was on autopilot. Ironically, today's lecture was over memory, and she did not want to remember the past twenty minutes. Despite the high strung emotions coursing through her body, Eve could have done this lecture in her sleep. However, that "sleep" kept getting interrupted by the intensity of which Villanelle was staring at Eve. She may have been checked out mentally during today's lecture, but Eve could not ignore that particular set of hazel eyes.
During one of the video clips Eve played during this lecture, she met Villanelle's gaze. The slight light from the video clip illuminated Villanelle's face, and Eve couldn't quite decipher what Villanelle's eyes were trying to get across. Regardless, Eve was still ticked off and jealous beyond hell. But before she could sort those emotions through, she'd have to continue the last fifteen minutes of her lecture.
Once class had ended and students filed out Eve gathered the few notes she had out and placed them in her bag.
"Come on, Eve," Villanelle said when she got close.
Eve ignored her.
"Listen, shit, it's not a big deal, okay?"
She turned her back to Villanelle slightly, ignoring her further.
"Eve."
A warm hand was on Eve's shoulder, and she stiffened. Eve stayed like that for a moment before turning to Villanelle. When she met the blonde's face, Eve couldn't help but notice a softness in Villanelle's features. It was like staring at a kitten after they had torn apart a living room, eyes twinged with guilt, but didn't make the frustration of cleaning up the aftermath go away. Nor did it dissuade the jealousy that was still pent up inside of Eve.
"Office," Eve said after a bit. "Now."
Eve left no room for Villanelle to try and change her mind and walked past the blonde. She heard a childish sigh and the sound of footsteps close behind. The entire walk back to the office Eve felt Villanelle's sight bore through her, and it took everything to not break and face the other woman.
Once they were finally at Eve's office, the brunette unlocked the door and stepped inside.
"Close the door behind you," Eve said while she walked toward the couch.
The tension in Eve's body finally caught up to her as she slumped into the cushions. Absent-mindedly, Eve rubbed her eyes to alleviate the slight headache that was forming.
"Eve?"
The brunette didn't answer.
"It's really not a big deal," Villanelle said again, this time under her breath.
Eve let out a huff.
"It is when I have no idea what's even going on between," she paused, "Us."
Eve turned her attention to Villanelle, who had positioned herself by her desk. Looking past her own messy feelings, Eve couldn't ignore the pull in her chest while she looked at Villanelle.
"What do you mean?" Villanelle asked innocently.
A sigh left Eve's body as she stood up from the couch.
"I guess," Eve said as she walked closer to the blonde. "Ignoring the obvious facts that you're my TA and what happened last week, we've also slept together."
"So? It's not like we're dating, which means you can't stop me from what I want to do with other people," Villanelle said as she shoved her hands in her pant pockets.
Eve's eyebrow twitched.
"Then does that mean everything that's happened between us is just routine for you then?" Eve asked.
"Kind of," Villanelle said nonchalantly.
There was a flash of something in her eyes that said there was something more, but it left the moment Eve tried to pinpoint it. However, it wasn't like Eve was any better. She was also technically using Villanelle as a means to feel better post-divorce and being reckless about everything she had ever worked toward.
"Is there something that you do want us to be then?" Villanelle playfully suggested.
It was a good question, Eve thought. She hadn't gotten that far in her own line of thinking, but all Eve knew was that she didn't like the idea of sharing Villanelle. After years of practically bending over backward for work and trying to save a failing marriage, Eve only knew she wanted to be selfish for once in her life.
"I'm not sure," Eve responded. She was now standing in front of Villanelle, staring into the same hazel eyes that had undone her many times by this point. What's one more time, Eve thought, indulging herself. "All I know is that I'm constantly thinking about you, what you do when you're not here, your eyes, your mouth," Eve paused again. "I just know I want you and to know everything about you."
"Eve," Villanelle paused, "Are you saying you were jealous earlier?"
Eve steeled her face. "I'm not jealous."
"Eve," Villanelle said in a singsong voice. She sat herself on the edge of Eve's desk. "I think you are."
"Why would I have reason to be jealous of you kissing some random girl," Eve retorted.
Eve did have reason to be jealous though. Whether she consciously admitted it or not, Eve wanted to kiss and touch Villanelle again. Professional relationships be damned, she thought. The cracks of her façade were beginning to fall, Eve could feel it, but she wasn't willing to give in. Not yet at least. Not until Eve could prove she absolutely had no remnants of jealousy flowing through her.
"Seems like you are," Villanelle said cockily as she lightly tugged at Eve's scarf.
A shiver went down Eve's spine. Her eyes drifted to Villanelle's hands on her scarf and lingered on her slender fingers. Eve took in a sharp breath when Villanelle's fingers slipped under her scarf and trailed over her collar bones.
"Not jealous in the slightest," Eve gasped. Eve was lying through her teeth at this point. If her tone hadn't been the final clue to Villanelle, Eve's body clearly gave her away.
Eve tensed when Villanelle leaned in closer.
"Hmm," Villanelle hummed.
That intoxicating warm scent invaded Eve's senses, and her blood pressure spiked. What was stopping her-other than the fear of being fired-from enjoying herself again, she thought. Clearly, Eve wanted this just as much as she assumed Villanelle did. If Eve entertained the idea as much as she had last week, then Eve obviously knew her decision.
"Prove it then."
Eve's lips were on Villanelle before she could give it a second thought, and it didn't take long for Villanelle to reciprocate. They could figure out what happened from here later, but right now Eve couldn't think of anything other than all the ways she wanted to have Villanelle again. She pulled herself closer to Villanelle and rested her hands on the small of the blonde's back. Eve was everywhere but her office, only wanting to focus on touching Villanelle.
That is until there was a knock on the office door.
"Fuck," Eve whispered when she pulled away.
"Professor Polastri, are you in there?"
Hélène's voice caused Eve to still. She'd gotten so caught up in her jealousy earlier Eve had forgotten the meeting Hélène planned last Tuesday for today. If today had gone according to Eve's original plan she would've remembered. Instead of quickly discussing the nature of her and Villanelle's relationship and setting appropriate teacher and teaching assistant boundaries, the two of them were currently having a literal after school special of their own. Eve laughed internally at the irony.
While she tried to think of a response Eve had to hold back a moan when Villanelle started kissing her neck.
"Just a moment," Eve choked out.
"So," Villanelle whispered against Eve's neck. "What's the plan, Professor Polastri?"
"Shh, I'm thinking," Eve replied. Her eyes darted to the space beneath the desk. "Under there."
Villanelle chuckled, and the vibrations reverberated over Eve's throat.
"You're joking, right?"
"Why would I be joking right now?" Eve asked.
"I don't know," Villanelle replied as her hands trailed down Eve's back. "Why can't I just be in here talking with you like normal?"
A squeak left Eve when Villanelle's hands firmly squeezed her ass.
"I don't know what you think is normal about," Eve paused. "This position we're in right now."
Villanelle only hummed in response, a smirk plastered on her face.
"Besides," Eve began, "I can't cancel this meeting."
"That's unfortunate," Villanelle replied.
"Can you please just hide under the desk for an hour?"
Eve's nerves grew watching Villanelle mull it over. Another, more insistent, knock echoed.
"One more second!" Eve shouted toward the door. "Villanelle," she whispered, "Please."
"You'll give me everything I want after?" Villanelle asked, playfully swatting at Eve's backside.
Eve bit back the moan she desperately wanted to release.
"Yes. Now just get under the desk," Eve said.
"You've got it, boss," Villanelle replied.
A mischievous grin made its way on Villanelle's face–which Eve decided to ignore for now–as she hopped off the desk. She'd have time later to scold Villanelle, but right now Eve shifted her focus to this hell of a meeting she was about to endure. Interrupting Eve's thoughts, Villanelle pressed one last peck to her lips before the blonde moved to the back of the desk and ducked under it. Eve quickly adjusted the scarf she, thankfully, had on to hide any of the potential marks Villanelle had left behind.
"Professor Polastri, I'm coming in," Hélène's muffled voice said.
Just as the door knob turned, Eve sighed in relief as Villanelle was out of sight. Eve ran her hands over the front of her dress shirt, smoothing out any wrinkles, and adjusted her hair before hurriedly walking toward the office door.
"Dr. Hélène," Eve said after she opened the door. "So sorry about the wait. I was just finishing writing a comment on a student's paper."
"I see," Hélène said as she walked past Eve.
Eve let out the breath she had been holding and let the office door shut.
"If I didn't know any better," Hélène said, "I'd think you'd forgotten about this meeting."
Nervous laughter erupted from Eve.
"What would make you say that?" she asked while walking to her desk.
"Just a feeling," Hélène mused.
"Apologies again," Eve said as she sat down at her desk. Her feet slightly bumped against Villanelle.
When Eve glanced down she saw Villanelle with her knees tucked beneath her chin. If she wasn't in an important meeting right now, Eve would've spent more time thinking about how cute Villanelle looked tucked away like that.
"Well then, Professor Polastri," Hélène started, "Let's get started."
"Right," Eve said, pulling her attention away from a certain blonde under her desk.
"I'll be blunt, Polastri. You're quite well regarded amongst colleagues and students."
Eve nodded.
"Literally a squeaky clean record," Hélène said.
"Thank you?" Eve responded.
Silence settled over the room, and Eve shifted uncomfortably in her chair as Hélène stared at her.
"How's Villanelle?"
It took everything in Eve to react in an appropriate, "the person we're talking about is totally not hiding under the desk as we speak," way.
"It's," Eve paused, "Interesting."
"How so?" Hélène asked.
Well, she thought, she does find a new, innovative way to press my buttons everyday. And, oh yeah, we've slept together before this and everyday I think about touching her again and again. However, Eve figured that wasn't the exact response Hélène wanted to hear.
"Just different having someone to help out," Eve said.
"Hmm," Hélène hummed. "I'm sure it is."
Sweat began to form on the back of Eve's neck as she glanced down again at Villanelle. She was still there, this time smiling mischievously up at Eve, and god did Eve want to go back to kissing her.
"Well, I've heard nothing but great things from Carolyn about how well you two get along."
Eve's blood ran cold through her body. There was no way Hélène could know, Eve thought, right? Sure they had the incident over the virtual meeting, but there was absolutely no way Carolyn had seen anything. If she had, surely Carolyn would have said something to Eve by now. Eve brushed it away, and tried to focus on what Hélène was saying. It wasn't a problem until somebody said something, Eve told herself, so why should she worry about it now.
"Anyways, I suppose we should get to the bulk of this check-in," Hélène said as she adjusted the lapels of her suit.
Instead of a reply, Eve let out a small hiccup of a yelp. An unexpected hand found its way up her pant leg and her leg involuntarily jolted. Eve hoped this meeting would pass quickly if not because it was a routine check-in, but so Villanelle wasn't cramped under her desk for longer than necessary.
"Well, as you know, we're very excited to finally have you as a tenure professor," Hélène said.
"Me too," Eve choked out.
Thankfully Bill had at least prepped Eve for what would happen in this meeting because she was too focused on trying not to unravel. While Villanelle's hand was stroking her leg, her other hand found its way to Eve's thigh and dangerously close to her center. Eve placed her hands in her lap and grabbed Villanelle's wrist as a warning to the blonde to stop. Rather than go higher, which Eve assumed was her original plan, Villanelle drew small circles on Eve's thigh.
The small action was just as effective though, and Eve bit back the moan she desperately wanted to release.
"And it's always such an honor for all our professors who reach this level," Hélène continued.
Eve could only nod in response, her mind distracted by Villanelle.
She sighed in relief when Villanelle pulled away, but it was only temporary when the blonde shuffled herself so her arms and head were resting on Eve's thighs. As she rearranged herself, there was a light thud against the desk and Eve tried to cover it with a cough. Thankfully Hélène was still going on about the merits of having tenured professors and hadn't noticed. Well this meeting was already going to be hell, she thought, and Eve may as well enjoy some aspect of it.
A quick glance down gave Eve a look at the pure lust and mischief in Villanelle's eyes, and Eve would be lying if she said that combined with this situation wasn't turning her on right now. Rather than let Villanelle know, Eve moved her hand to the blonde's hair in an attempt to keep her somewhat at bay while Hélène droned on.
Not to her surprise, Eve wasn't shocked when Villanelle lightly nuzzled her thigh and placed light kisses on top of it. God, she thought, this woman would be the death of her in both career and in a bodily sense.
"And with that said," Hélène said as she opened the manila envelope she had brought. "We can discuss the preliminary goals you had turned in at the beginning of the semester."
"Sounds great," Eve said, hoping her voice didn't sound strained.
While Hélène read off whatever Eve had put down–to be honest in this moment it would be a miracle if she could remember her own phone number–her eyes drifted down and met Villanelle.
Eve's hand was still lost in Villanelle's blonde locks. She gave her a warning look, and it had seemed Villanelle had heeded. At least until Villanelle moved a bit closer so she was resting her head between Eve's thighs. Eve coughed again–attempting to hide a moan–and turned her attention back to Hélène.
"We're hoping that next year we can have you as one of the department leaders, which is standard after a first year of tenure, and-"
The sound of a phone buzzing cut Hélène off. Eve-through her blissed haze-picked up on a change in Hélène's demeanor when she looked at her smartwatch.
"Sorry, I need to take this quickly."
"Sure, take all the time you need," Eve said.
"Hello, is everything alright?" Hélène said into her phone.
Eve tuned out the rest of the conversation in part of trying to be polite, but also because she had someone under her desk who was beginning to leave a trail of kisses over her lower half.
"I apologize Professor Polastri, but I'll have to cut this meeting short," Hélène said as she stood up from her chair. "My daughter got sick at school."
"Of course," Eve managed to get out. Villanelle pushed herself right against Eve's center while she bit back a moan.
"I'll send you an email with a rescheduled date," Hélène replied, already on her way out of the office.
"Sounds great."
The moment the door shut behind Hélène, Eve pushed herself away from her desk and Villanelle. When she looked down, a wave of lust coursed through her body. The look of tousled blonde hair, lustful, hazel eyes, and the thrill of what just happened was practically a physical reflection of what Eve was feeling.
There was no way she could yet again ignore what was happening between them now, but that was for future Eve to sort out the aftermath and consequences of giving in to her own desires later. Right now she just wanted to feel the same way she felt months ago with Villanelle. After all, it was like Bill had told her, she did deserve to have at least a little fun after her hell of a summer, repercussions be damned.
"Hmm," Villanelle hummed as she crawled out from under the desk and knelt before Eve. "It seems like now is a perfect time for that extra assistance."
Eve finally released the groan she had been holding back the entirety of her brief meeting.
"There's no other unexpected meetings right?" Villanelle teased.
"Not that I'm aware of," Eve breathed.
"Good," Villanelle said with a cocky smile. "I don't think I'd be able to be convinced again to hold off if someone were to walk in again."
A laugh escaped Eve at the irony of Villanelle's words. If that was her definition of holding off, Eve thought, she was curious to know what would've happened if that meeting had continued.
There wasn't time for Eve to wonder further on that as Villanelle stood up and straddled Eve's lap. Their lips collided instantly, and Eve pulled the blonde as close as the office chair would allow. Instantaneously, Villanelle had put her hands in Eve's hair and picked up where she had left off before they were interrupted. Goosebumps prickled Eve's skin when one of the blonde's hands dipped to the nape of her neck to deepen the kiss.
"Wait," Eve said, pulling away. "Let me go lock the door."
Villanelle nodded eagerly and stood up from Eve's lap. Eve didn't waste any time as she practically propelled herself from her desk chair.
The short walk from her desk to the door could not have felt longer, but after securing the lock in place, Eve felt adrenaline course through her body. She couldn't help but think about how there wasn't a single moment she could pinpoint from her marriage that made her feel this all consuming amalgamation of emotions. And when Eve turned to face Villanelle–who was now leaning against her desk again–looking her up and down from across her office she knew there was nothing in any of her past relationships that could come close.
Eve shook the last of her nerves from her system and walked back over to the blonde.
"I should've done this when we first met," Eve said.
Before Villanelle could retort, Eve hurriedly shoved everything off her desk to the floor.
"Bend over," Eve commanded.
Villanelle happily obliged and bent over the newly cleared desk. Eve unbuttoned Villanelle's pants and tugged them, along with her panties, down to the blonde's ankles. Villanelle gasped, and Eve drank in the sight before her. Eve's hands cupped the blonde's hip bones and teased above her abdomen.
"Is this okay?" Eve asked.
"More than okay," Villanelle replied as she pushed back into Eve.
Eve wasted no time in moving her hand to hover over Villanelle's entrance and felt the heat radiating off of the blonde.
"Shit, you're already so wet," Eve said.
"All for you, mon coeur," Villanelle whispered, seeking Eve's hand for friction.
The sight of Villanelle bent over her desk, papers scattered around the floor, almost made Eve's legs buckle from desire.
"Say my name again like you did last week," Eve said as she slipped a finger into Villanelle.
"Eve," the blonde breathed.
She could seriously get drunk off of the way Villanelle said her name, Eve thought, every time it tumbled out of her mouth.
"Good girl," Eve said, easily slipping in a second finger.
"God, Eve are you trying to kill me?" Villanelle asked.
Instead of giving a response, and to not lose her nerve, Eve sped up her pumps. This drew out more delicious moans from the blonde, and the louder Villanelle got Eve couldn't take it anymore. She pulled her fingers out, which caused Villanelle to whimper, and pressed on Villanelle's right hip bone.
"Turn over," Eve said. "I want to see you."
While the blonde followed her order, Eve helped lift Villanelle so she was resting on the desk. The sight of Villanelle spread out before her, half undressed, and the combination of lingering jealousy and the past half hour of build up was driving Eve wild.
As if she read her mind, Villanelle smirked and lifted herself enough to pull her shirt off and toss it aside.
"Professor Polastri," she purred. "Do you want to know where I need extra help?"
"And where's that, Miss Astankova," Eve replied, playing along.
Villanelle lifted her legs and crossed them behind Eve's waist, pulling the two closer. Eve groaned when she felt Villanelle's center pressed against her abdomen.
"Touch me again," Villanelle said while grabbing Eve's left wrist in her hand. The blonde guided Eve's hand under her bra and shut her eyes.
Instinctually Eve squeezed the soft flesh, and she reveled in the gasp that fell out of Villanelle. With the back of her hand, Eve pushed the cup of the bra up enough to see more. She then palmed the supple flesh, and Eve felt her chest straining to take in breaths as Villanelle arched herself into her touch.
Simultaneously, Eve's free hand went back to exploring Villanelle's folds. Her fingers trailed up and down the arousal that was spilling out of Villanelle. Every tease Eve gave to Villanelle drew out an even more delicious moan from the blonde, and Eve was close to her own edge from the sight below her.
"Eve, more," Villanelle moaned.
Eve indulged the blonde, and quickly inserted two fingers. She pumped her fingers in and out again–just like their first time–and it didn't take long for Villanelle to become a squirming mess under her.
"Faster," Villanelle whispered as she reached for the side of the desk to hold on to.
Picking up her speed, Eve pumped in and out while occasionally using her thumb to rub against Villanelle's clit. While she worked Villanelle's core, Eve removed her hand from the blonde's breast to have it rest behind her back to lift her up into a kiss. Eve felt Villanelle's legs quiver around her waist, and it only took a few more pumps before Villanelle's muscles tightened around Eve's fingers.
"Eve," Villanelle whimpered against the brunette's lips.
Eve moaned as she worked Villanelle through her climax. She'd worry about cleaning up her desk tomorrow, she thought. All she wanted right now was to drink in Villanelle post-bliss.
"I should make you jealous more often," Villanelle said with a laugh.
Eve laughed along with her.
"Let's not if we can avoid it."
The blonde nodded and kissed Eve again, not allowing room for either of them to move from their current position.
"Want to continue back at my place?" Eve asked.
Villanelle eagerly nodded. "How forward of you, Professor Polastri."
"Watch it," Eve warned playfully.
Eve decided she could worry later about what they were–and what she wanted exactly–and how they'd handle their current predicament regarding their work relationship. For now, all Eve knew was that she wanted Villanelle in every sense, even if it destroyed her.
