Vlad's fingers tapped on the keyboard of the laptop, cueing up the information stored on the flash drive. And was there a lot to go through.

"Let's see what the Light's been up to…" Vlad hummed, browsing in keen interest. "…Definitely will be looking into who each of these individuals are. Let's see… a chaos lord, Atlantian royalty connections, a network of assassins, that should be interesting… a ruler of Greater Bialya…"

Vlad mused over the information that he read of the different members, taking a moment to study Queen Bee's profile before moving on.

"First things first, I'll need access to the Ghost Zone. Unfortunately, this dimension lacks the extensive science in the ecto-technological department… or any related department for that matter. Butter Biscuts! I Might as well be starting from scratch!… This will be quite difficult to do with a lack of a stable source of ectoplasm, and the best way to get that is via ghost portal."

Vlad huffed as he sorted through some notes on his desk. "I'll need to find an ecto-spheric thinning to extract the ectoplasm needed. I can power the scanners with my own energy, though it will be limited." His cell chimed, alerting him to an incoming call. "This is Masters… yes Darcy, send a copy of the invoice… no, that won't be necessary… did he now?… yes…. By the way, has there been any leads on the boy?… I see… Thank you Darcy."

Vlad ended the call and resumed his studying of the Light's files. "Hmm… I'll need to look into who this mysterious partner is….. I can definitely use- hello, what's this?… This is certainly very promising," the elder halfa chuckled to himself, eyes flashing red.

Amity Park

"Get back here ghost!"

Down the streets of the sleepy town in the dead of night, two blurs jet at supernatural speeds. The sounds of a motorcycle, blaster fire and rockets bounced off the walls of buildings. On her hoverboard with guns ablaze, Valerie was hot on the (w)heels of the biker ghost known to cause bad luck, Johnny 13.

Johnny served his bike to avoid the shots directed at him. "Sheesh Red, will you lay off!"

"The only thing I'm going to be laying is the ghost I'm looking at!" Was the retort, accompanied by weapon fire.

The pursuit led down Shining Avenue, the road coming to a dead end. This did not deter the biker, as he simply drove horizontally up the wall of the building. What the ghost huntress did not notice, while she pursued her quarry, was the inky form waiting on the rooftop.

"Get ready for a-AAAAAAAAAHHHHH!" Valerie, just about to land a shot, was then pounced on by Johnny's ghostly shadow, sending the girl careening to a billboard, who then crashed down onto the roof.

As the girl was clearing the stars from her vision, the shadow, wanting to take advantage of the moment, lunged at the ghost hunter. Said shadow ghost was denied as it was blasted away in a screech of pain, thanks to the blaster wielded by a certain goth girl. As it was too dazed from the attack, it couldn't escape the suction of the Fenton Thermos wielded by Tucker.

"Sam? Tucker? When did you get here?" Valerie questioned, surprised by the appearance of the other youth.

"You're welcome," was the terse reply from Sam, the tone annoying Valerie somewhat.

"My shadow!" Johnny exclaimed. "Why'd you go and do that for?!"

Tucker merely raised an eyebrow. "Dude, do we really need to tell you why?"

It was just then that Valerie leapt up, powering up an arm cannon. "We don't need to explain anything to you ghost!"

"Woah, relax red!" Johnny placated, holding up his two hands as a sign of treaty. "I'm just blowing off some steam. Me and Kitty had a spat. Hey gloomy girl, what do you do when you and the ghost kid have a lovers' quarrel?"

Sam huffed at the ghost biker, "first of all, he's not my boyfriend. And second, why are you asking me that?"

"Well normally I would talk to the ghost kid, but he ain't here and the only other guy to talk to here is chick repellent," Johnny explained, jabbing a thumb at Tucker to indicate him as the 'other guy'.

"Hey! I highly resent that remark!"

"So I guess that you're the next best thing," Johnny continued, ignoring the geek's protest. "And to the first part, we all assumed that you two were a thing since you're always hanging around him."

"Well you're wrong!"

Valerie grunted out "Coulda fooled me" in a sarcastic tone.

"What's that supposed to mean!?"

"Oh great, here we go," Tucker muttered, seeing where this would lead up. The two females had been butting heads since the youth had all started working together on patrolling Amity and would snap at each other at any moment.

"Sheesh, do those two do this often?"

"Unfortunately," the technogeek sighed. "I don't suppose you would just head back to the Ghost Zone peacefully?"

"Don't worry, I'm gone. Don't wanna hang around too long while the white coats may be lurking around. Just be sure to send my shadow back soon!" The biker ghost then revved the engine, driving off and leaving the only guy of the group with the two bickering females.

"-maybe if he wasn't so clueless-"

"Or maybe he's not as clueless as you think. I mean, you're always so-"

"Are you two done yet?" Tucker interrupted, "because we shouldn't loiter around for long with the GIW roaming about."

While Tucker tried to act as mediator between the girls, a figure flew past in the far off distance, eventually coming to land on a rooftop to check some scanners.

"I'll prove to that banshee my abilities as the Ghost Zone's greatest hunter. And since the whelp is nowhere to be found, I'll settle on the next best quarry."

…~~~oOo~~~…

"Mom? Are you down here?" Jazz called down the stairs to the lab, leaning on the doorframe. Hearing a muffled voice, the redhead came down the stairs into the homemade lab within the basement.

The workspace was in a greater disarray than it's usual 'organized chaos' that Jazz's parents kept their equipment. Ectoplasm dripped off one counter, puddling on the floor below. Papers were strewn everywhere, many having what was written crossed out in furious scribbles of ink and some had been burnt.

The teal jumpsuited figure of Maddie Fenton was hunched over the workbench away from the stairs. The tabletop wasn't visible to Jazz from her vantage point as the suface had more spare parts than tabletop itself. The hood of the jumpsuit was pulled over her head and Jazz was sure that the goggles were on as well.

"Mom?"

The woman jumped at her daughter's voice, not noticing her approach. Maddie turned, revealing that the goggles were indeed in place. Strands of her auburn hair were sticking out from under the hood.

"Jazz?" Maddie asked, tones of exhaustion seeping into her voice. "Do you need something sweetie?"

"I think the real question is 'do you need something', mainly sleep." Only expression that Jazz could see was when her mom frowned at what she was getting at. "When was the last time you took a break?"

"Hmm? Oh, that's not important."

"Mom, you need to get some sleep. And a proper meal that doesn't consist of granola bars." The young girl sighed before glancing around the lab. "Where's Dad?"

"Said something about breaking- I think I may be close to something here."

Jazz reached over her mom's shoulder to grab- whatever it was- from her hands to set it on the table. "You've been down here for days; and for much longer than you would usually spend, might I add."

"But this is important!" Maddie snatched the metal item, her lips pressing themselves into a thin line. "It's going to help us bring Danny home."

"And we will find him. But not if we're running ourselves ragged." Jazz reached for the doohickey again, the older woman refusing to relinquish her hold. "Please Mom. Dropping from exhaustion won't help anyone."

"Doing nothing won't help either!" The Fenton matriarch argued back. "I'm not going going to do nothing while my baby's out there somewhere!"

"Mom-"

A large gloved hand fell onto the mother's shoulder. Neither female had heard Jack enter the room.

"Mads, Jazzy's right." And for the life of her, Jazz couldn't remember ever seeing her father as somber as he was currently.

"B-but Jack. I…" Maddie started, then wilted, a deep frown marring her face.

"I know. And we will, just not tonight." Jack uttered softly, pulling her in an embrace, then turned to his daughter. "Can you give us a moment?"

Jazz, hesitantly, left the couple to their own devices. The parents kept their voices low, the young woman unable to hear what was being said, though she had an idea as to what it may be about if the sniffles were any indication.

'I hope Danny's doing okay.'

Lois huffed in amusement, tucking her phone back in her purse and leaned back into the seat, Clark himself in the seat adjacent talking on the phone. Jazz music played in the background, diluted by the sounds of the hair-care equipment and the idle chatter of clients and the stylists. Lois' nose tingled with the hints of lavender.

Since Danny would be staying in their dimension for an undetermined amount of time, the teen would be needing several things; like clothes, shoes, a medical exam to determine the teen's standard of normal, and a haircut as his hair had become longer just to start with.

"Bruce said they'll get here in ten," Clark informed, stowing the phone away. "Have you heard from Conner?"

"He and Kara are…" the female reporter spotted the two mentioned Kryptonian youth approaching, "coming up right now."

"Are you sure it's okay for Kara to be about? She's still learning how to… adjust." Clark said in a low tone.

"She'll be fine. Between you and Conner, she's been getting the hang of her abilities. Besides, I think that both Danny and Kara would like to hang out with someone their own age."

"Er… you're probably right."

"Hey there cousin Clark!" A petite blond girl with thick framed glasses bounced into the salon, followed by the onyx-haired young man at a more subdued pace. "Hey Lois!"

"Morning you two," Clark addressed the two youth while Lois gave a sunny smile.

Conner gave a smile and waved himself. "Morning. So where's your guest?"

"Getting his hair trimmed," Lois responded, then raised her tone somewhat. "He was starting to look like a hobo with that bird nest of his."

"I can HEAR you, ya know." A voice remarked, the indignation clear in his voice.

"I know!" Lois grinned, feeling satisfaction from teasing the young halfa. He had woken up that morning in a surly mood from being 'awakened at an ungodly hour'.

Both the younger Kryptonians shot a questioning look at Clark, who merely shrugged in response. In a moment, the stylist returned followed by Danny, who's hair was now back to its usual length. The two adults stood up as the halfa ambled up to them.

"That wasn't too bad now, was it?" Lois asked, ruffling the teen's hair.

"Yeah, yeah, knock it off," Danny griped as he half-heartedly swatted at the female reporter's hand.

"Still a sourpuss I see."

"You woke me up at 6. In the morning. On a SATURDAY. Who wakes up that early on the weekend?"

"We get up at around 4:30 on the farm, weekend or no," Kara mentioned, "gotta get the chores done."

Danny's eyes widened at the statement, "seriously?!… wait, who are you?"

"Oh! I'm Kara, Clark's cousin, and this is Conner, his brother." The blond introduced herself and Conner, holding out a hand for a handshake, which the ghostly teen accepted.

"Nice to meet you," Danny said, shaking Kara's then Conner's hands, then turned to Clark, alternating who he pointed at. "are you all…" catching on to what he was asking, Clark gave a small nod. "Cool."

"Lois thought that you would appreciate having someone close to your age to talk to." Clark explained as they walked out of the hair salon. "She called up Conner and Bruce will be bringing his kids along."

Danny nodded at the info, but was a little distracted by his surroundings as he was mentally comparing the stores here to the ones at home. Some of them he obviously didn't recognized, this being a different dimension and all. Some of the others, however, had a similar name/theme that it was easy to tell that they were the counterparts of his home's stores, like Sophia's, Pizza House, Omega Beauty, Worn Jade, Critter Co… and the counterpart of Abyss, which they were entering.

And of course there was the rare occurrence of the exact same business with the exact same name. Danny had only encountered two so far.

They soon met up with Bruce Wayne and his two wards, Dick (ha) and Tim. Lois had been the one to explain Batman's ID to the halfa.

"Lois, Bruce won't like that-"

"He's going to find out anyway, might as well skip the drama."

It was weird seeing the Dark Knight out of costume, being all… not brooding Danny supposed. He couldn't come up with the right word to describe it; he probably will later though when he wasn't distracted.

"Hey Danny," Tim greeted, looking up from his phone. It seemed that the teen was always doing something on a device, kinda like his own friend Tucker.

Heh, 'Tucker' and 'Tim' both have names that begin with the letter 'T' and both love technology.

Danny brushed away the thought. "Hey Tu- er, Tim. How have you been?"

If Tim noticed the slip up, he didn't pay it any mind. "Been good."

An arm was slung around Danny's shoulders, the arm belonging to one Dick Grayson. The Romani gave a sunny smile that seemed infectious. "Before we do anything else, I've found something you might like." The young adult said as he lead Danny into the racks, the other youth following.

"At least they seem to be getting along," Clark said, casting a look in the direction they had left.

"Mhmm. So Bruce, who's doing Danny's physical?" Lois questioned.

The billionaire cleared his throat before speaking up in a soft tone. "I was thinking of, besides the usual medics, having Dr. Leslie Tompkins conduct the physical."

"Hmmm, okay, and why is that?" Clark recognized her tone. It was that same tone when she was closing in on a lead. "I'm just curious as to why you want your personal doctor to check up on the kid, who just so happens to fit the cliche of kids that you've adopted before."

Oooh, Clark can see where she's leading up with this.

Bruce's expression didn't change. "Leslie is a trusted doctor that I know, and she has experience in this area."

"Oh, I get it." Lois intoned. Before she could say anything else, laughter (Danny's) popped up where the youth had gone. "We'll be talking about this later." She stated in an assertive tone before walking away.

Bruce rose an eyebrow at Clark who merely shrugged.

The adults found the group by a rack of shirts. Danny was slightly bent over laughing while the others had varying degrees of amusement.

"Hey kiddo, what's so funny?"

"These shirts!" Danny held up the one that he was holding. It was a blue shirt with the familiar 'S' shield and it had the following to accompany it:

I'm feeling Super today

"I noticed Danny has a thing for wordplay," Dick explained, indicating the rack of shirts, which had an assortment of options. "I thought he'd like these."

He fished out a red shirt that bore the Flash's logo, only to flip it around for the 'Be Back in a FLASH' to be visible.

"It looks like they ran out of the Wonder Woman tees," Kara commented, peeking at a lower rack.

Tim then smirked, pulling out a black one, "don't forget this one."

Dick smirked himself as the front was shown.

'I'm not saying I'm Batman, I'm just saying nobody has ever seen Batman and me in a room together' was proudly displayed with the Bat symbol.

The reported couple chuckled a bit, while Bruce frowned a bit.

"And you were right. I want them!" Danny huffed out as his laughing simmered down. He then started digging through the tees.

"What are you looking for?" Conner asked.

"A Martian Manhunter shirt. There's got to be something cool written for that."

"Oh, he doesn't really get merchandise as he's not too popular." Clark explained.

A disappointed look dusted the ghostly teen's face. "What?! C'mon! They're missing the opportunity to have something like 'I'm just visiting'!… I'm still taking these." Danny concluded, snatching the Flash, Superman and Batman shirts in a way that amused the others.

"If it makes you feel better, I did see a 'NASA' shirt as we came in." Lois placated.

"Yes, that would."

The group's trip took them to the different stores in the mall and ended with a lunch at the food court. It was quite spacious in Danny's opinion as it spanned to two floors. That made sense as the mall was for a much larger city than Amity Park. On the ceiling, a mural stretched the expanse. It was made to give the allusion of flying over the city and it consisted of many notable features of Metropolis. The Daily Planet was one of the 'landmarks', the golden globe being a translucent hemisphere covering a skylight, giving it the interesting effect of a golden glow from the sunlight.

'Impressive.' Danny thought, distracted by the roof and the conversation enough that he didn't notice some cheese from his pretzel spilling on his shirt. "So this Klarion dude had all the adults disappear?"

"He and four other sorcerers had cast a spell that basically sent those eighteen and older to another dimension." Conner explained, "It took a lot of coordination between the team and the League to undo Klarion's mess. We were fortunate that Captain Marvel had a way to jump between the two dimensions."

"I remember that fiasco," Lois said, placing her drink on the table. "The whole planet went into panic mode when the children all just vanished without warning."

"Huh, I kinda had to deal with something like that." Danny remarked. "So basically one of my rogues had abducted and brainwashed all the adults in the city and kept them in a shield where I couldn't use my powers."

"How did you rescue them?" Tim asked, who sitting across from Danny.

"I, as myself," Danny gestured to himself, "rallied my classmates together and organized a raid. I lead the offense while Tucker, under disguise, got inside and shut down the shield. We were armed with my parents' gear." Danny then noticed the warm cheese oozing through his shirt. "Dang it."

Grabbing a napkin, Danny then turned the area of his shirt intangible, scooping the cheese away with the napkin and leaving the shirt spotless.

"Impressive way to clean up," Bruce commented on the power usage, brow quirking upwards.

Still odd to see the man act in such a genial way- that's the word!

Watchtower

Lois reclined in her seat as she and the two male heroes waited near the medical room where Danny was getting his physical done. The female reported had insisted on coming when she had noticed that the teen seemed slightly nervous when the physical was first mentioned. He had mentioned the last time he had a check up was before his accident.

It turned out that his powers were the result of a lab accident involving a special form of energy that his parents specialized in.

The swish of a door sliding open indicated the doctor approaching the heroes.

"So are we all good?" Clark asked.

"At first glance, his vitals match the average; body temp, heart rate. All normal. You have to be doing really extensive tests to find any irregularities, like traces of an unknown substance in his blood. The only other notable thing to mention is that he's lighter than one his age would be."

"That's easily fixed. Just hand him to the Kents, they'll fatten him up." Lois said, already seeing Martha whisking the boy away because 'he's too skinny'.

Clark seemed to be on the same wavelength as her. "Ma would definitely be for putting some meat on him."

"Why do I have the sudden feeling you're plotting something?" Danny's voice called out from the room, the boy peering from the doorway to glance suspiciously at the female reporter. He was currently in his Phantom form.

"Wouldn't you like to know?" Again, she like teasing the teen. "We're just wondering why you're such a beanpole."

Danny huffed. "Not my fault I've alway's been on the lighter side."

"His other form was interesting to get vitals for." Dr. Tompkins said. "I figure it's because his form is energy-based, as it has messed with the instruments."

"Everything good though?" Bruce questioned.

"After some adjustments," Tompkins nodded. "Oh, and here are the measurements." She added, handing a slip to Batman.

"Measurements?"

"So Bruce can get you a new suit made," Clark said. "This one doesn't look too sturdy."

The teen looked excited and interested. "A new suit? That would be great! And yeah, this one doesn't do too well in the protection department. At least it mends itself."

"Your suit can mend itself?" Bruce looked intrigued.

Danny nodded. "I was wearing it when I had my accident."

"Do you think it would be possible to merge the properties of Danny's current suit to the new one?" Lois asked.

"It should be possible. Would it be possible to get a sample of the fabric?" Bruce asked.

"Yeah, hang on." The teen slipped his right arm out of its sleeve. "It's all one piece, so you'll have to cut a part off."

A Batarang slashed the glove off, the teen then slipping the sleeve back on. "Wow, kinda weird to be wearing only one glove." was the remark as the teen flexed his hand.

"So a new glove will be in place?" Clark asked.

"Yep! Should be there next time I transform."

Amity Park

Outside FentonWorks, parked in front of the residence is the Family RV. Jack was clearing out space inside the vehicle while Maddie stood off to the side with Jazz.

"Well, that should be enough room," the man stated, closing the back door. "Madds, we're all set."

"I don't know. Are you sure that you'll be fine here on your own?" The mother asked her daughter.

"For the billionth time, yes." Jazz said with a tired sigh. "Mom, I have my license, can cook my own meals and stayed home alone before. You don't have to coddle me."

"I know, I know," Maddie relented, sporting a frown.

"It will be good for you to get out of the house instead being cooped up in the lab 24/7."

"Jazzypants is right." Jack said. "Besides, we do need to go restock and can only get some of our supplies out of town."

"*sigh* You're right," Maddie agreed, then clambered into the RV. "We'll be back tomorrow morning sweetie. Be safe."

"And if there's any trouble with ghosts, you call us and we'll be here faster than your Aunt Alicia can shoot down a grizzly."

"Bye Mom! Bye Dad!" Jazz waved to the RV as it drove away.

"I hope that we're not making a mistake." Maddie muttered.

"Madds, everything will be all right. I know that you miss Danny. I do too! If he was still here, this trip would probably be us going fishing together as father and son." He then paused, then spoke in a gentler tone. "Danny's probably doing just fine. He's a Fenton, and Fentons are survivors! Nothing can stop us!" Maddie let out a small huff in amusement (which was a win in Jack's book) before the two adults fell into a comfortable silence.

Meanwhile, Jazz had met up with Tucker, Sam and Valerie down by Tucker's place. "So how was last night's patrol?"

Both Valerie and Sam gave the other a tense look, while Tucker was the one to answer. "For once, actually calm with the exception of some ectopuses and Johnny 13."

"Ugh, that guy." Jazz mumbled, then spoke up. "Mom and Dad are going out of town for the day, so it will be up to us, the Ghost Getters, to keep an eye on the city."

"Ghost Getters?" The three younger teens asked incredulously.

Jazz nodded vigorously, looking kind of excited. "Yeah, I'd thought we needed a cool name, since we're kind of Danny's sidekicks."

"Excuse me?" Valerie huffed in annoyance, "Call me a sidekick, and your side will be the second place I'll kick."

"Sorry! Us minus Valerie."

Tucker furrowed his eyebrows at the explanation. "We're not really sidekicks."

"And that's not a cool name," Sam said, crossing her arms and giving the redhead a deadpan stare.

"Oh c'mon! I've even made a chino chart of ghost-hunting duties for us!" Jazz pulled out said chart, pointing out the different items on the table. Since she was so engrossed in her explanation, Jazz did not notice the three teens slip away. "…and at six, we can- Hey, where did you guys go!?"

At the park, the fountain, since the last fight between Danny and Vlad, had been repaired and a bunch of benches had been placed around it. Some Amity Parkers are out enjoying the first calm day in a while. Johnny 13, leaning on the handrails of his motorcycle, is chatting with a young, brunette woman when an ecto-blast knocks Johnny 13 off the bike, landing face-first into the dirt.

"JOHNNY!"

Johnny's eyes go wide, recognizing the voice. "Oh, boy."

He then turns to find Kitty, whose hand is still glowing from the shot. Seeing his SO's fury, Johnny jumps back onto his motorcycle and drives off in a hurry with Kitty hot on his heels. Spectra and Ember are standing by, just looking on as the soap-opera gone real unfolds before them.

Spectra smirks, enjoying the sight of Johnny fleeing from his doom. "I'm liking her more and more."

"There you are!"

"Oh boy, here we go," Sam muttered as Jazz finally found to where the teens had snuck off.

"Lay off Manson. Jazz is just trying to help." Valerie scolded.

Sam merely rolled her eyes. "Yeah, because color-coded pie charts are gonna stop the ghosts for wrecking more havoc."

It was just then Jazz threw her arms around Tucker and Sam. "Any signs of ecto-activity, Ghost Getters?"

Tucker, making a face at the group name, pulled away. "Okay, that's gotta stop."

"Jazz," Sam said in a tone like she was about to explain something to a small child, "I know you dream of being one of Danny's sidekicks-"

"Ghost Getters!"

Sam merely rolled her eyes. "Whatever. But Tucker and I have been doing this awhile and we've got it under control. You don't even have the proper equipment, unlike us and, dare I say, Valerie." Valerie frowned at the tone when her name was mentioned. "You, at least, need a Specter Deflector." The goth indicated said Spector Deflector around her waist.

Tucker, lifting his shirt up to expose his anti-ghost belt, moves to unclip it and hands it to Jazz, "She can have mine, it makes my shorts ride up."

"Are you sure that's smart?" Valerie questioned, while Jazz smirks at the annoyed goth.

"Eh, I'll be fine." Tucker waved a hand, as if to dismiss the question.

Valerie looked like she wanted to say more, but chose to instead to pull out one of the pistols from her bad and hands it to the redhead. "Sam is right about having proper gear; you'll need more than that thermos. Though Manson should have said it a little nicer."

"As if you're an expert on being nice?" Sam snarked. "And we didn't ask for your help Ms. Red Huntress, so you can go."

"You may not have asked, but Jazz did. And I'm helping in any way I can."

"Sam, you need to chill out," Tucker said in a stern tone, getting tired of the conflict.

Jazz crossed her arms, giving the goth girl a stern look. "Face it, Sam. Both Val and I are as big of a part of this as you are."

Sam merely scoffed. "A big part of what? Nothing's happening."

Suddenly, the sounds of a crash erupted from somewhere in the park, causing the teens to jump in surprise.

"Wrong!" Jazz called out as she and Tucker sprinted towards the source of the commotion.

Valerie gave Sam a side-glance. "You were saying?"

Sam didn't dignify an answer, instead joining the others to check out the ruckus.

…~~~oOo~~~…

The Fenton RV sped down the highway, the adults inside were discussing the needed parts for certain projects. The month had been a constant class 5 hurricane of emotions and stress with Danny missing, the GIW growing more of a problem and that much of what they thought they had known to be truth to simply be tossed out the proverbial window. Everything had been coming at them at once, with virtually no chance of being able to truly process it all. The conversation and drive were, admittedly, a welcome distraction to the constant worry, even though it still lingered at the back of their minds.

"I'm just saying that there could be a calibration error."

"That could be problem. Either way, we should-"

They were cut off from their conversation as one of the scanners started flashing, the green light cast on the adult Fentons faces.

"Huh, the scanner says that there's some ghosts nearby." Maddie said, squinting at the display with intrigue. "Should we go check it out?"

"Well, we are ghost hunters." Jack stated, with Maddie nodding in agreement. With a brisk turn of the wheel, the RV swerved onto the exit ramp.

A few minutes of last-minute lane changes and turning, the couple pulled up in a wooded area. Flashes of green could be seen illuminating the treetops and the faint sounds of explosions echoed over the canopy. Because of the trees and the uneven terrain of the rocky earth, the Fenton adults would have to proceed on foot.

"All rightie!" Jack said, whipping out a bazooka and letting it whir to life, "let's go kick some ghost booty!"

"Jack, hang on! We can't go randomly charging in and shooting." Maddie reminded her husband. "

"Oh," the bazooka powers down as the Fenton man lowers the weapon, looking a little sheepish. Old habits die hard. "Right. What do we do then?"

"Observe and see if the ghost is actually a threat." Maddie stated, her weapon held in a ready position as she strode with caution to where the scanner had indicated.

"I've never been to good at sneaking," the man muttered as he attempted to follow his wife in the same manner.

The smell of burnt earth, wood and something akin to copper reached their noses as they pressed onwards. Scorch marks littered the rocky landscape and the trees, the areas of impact still smoking and some trees still smoldering. At one point, a good portion of one space's surface area (40 feet Maddie estimated) was uniformly blackened, what remained of the trees there nothing but ashen posts. And that was just naming the fire damage from ectoblasts alone.

"Wow, must be some fight," Jack muttered as he studied the cracks that traveled up a rock face, starting at the base and traveling upwards to two and a half stories.

A shriek pierced the air, chilling the adults. That sounded like a child. With a sense of urgency, the Fenton parents charged through the bush.

They found themselves on a ledge, the steep rock face dropping a good 15 feet before opening to a small clearing mostly occupied by thick bushes. Floating above the clearing was a familiar metal ghost that their son seemed to constantly fight. The ghost had a wicked sneer directed to the ground below it- him(?), where a net with something inside struggled.

"LET ME GO YOU JERK!" The adults couldn't quite see what was in the net, but the voice sounded like a young girl.

The ghost leered down at the bundle, holding up a remote. "Fat chance smaller whelp! With you, I'll show my girlfriend who's the best hunter."

Pressing down on the button, the net lit and sparked, causing the girl in the net to shriek in pain.

"EAT FENTON BAZOOKA GHOST!" Jack yelled out, shooting at the metal ghost. The aim was true, hitting the ghost squarely and sending him flying with a yelp.

Maddie gaped for a moment, then beamed at her husband, "Nice shot honey!"

"Thanks sweetie cakes! Guess all that practice at the shooting range is finally paying off." The large man commented as they both scrambled down the rocks and hurried to the net. The small bundle let out a groan as they approached.

"Oh my…" Maddie gasped and Jack gaped at the ghost before them.

It was a young preteen ghost girl. She gave a grunt as she blinked her neon green eyes drearily at the hunters. The same green eyes that Phantom, their son, had in his ghost form. And it wasn't just the eyes, she also had similar white hair and outfit to their son as well, complete with the logo. "What are-"

"It's okay, we'll let you out," Maddie soothed, whipping out a pocket knife (Fenton standard) and proceeded to cut the net away while Jack stood guard for the ghost to return.

"Hurry it up Madds," Jack urged.

"Almost-"

An angry roar carried over the trees as the hunter ghost returned from his short vacation. "You dare to interfere with my hunt humans?!"

Jack then hefted his Bazooka. "You get her out of there, I'll distract it!" He called out, charging at the ghost.

"Just hang in there, you're almost free," Maddie muttered as she sawed the net.

The ghost girl gave her a look that reminded her too much of her own kids when they suspected something, her brows crinkling and her frown in a sideways frown. "Aren't you a ghost hunter? Why are you helping me? Everyone thinks that all ghosts are evil."

Maddie paused for a moment to consider the girl's query before resuming her task. "Yes I am a hunter… but I'm also a scientist. And the one thing I'm not supposed to do, and I did, is let my biases take control. There has been evidence of good ghosts, yet I ingnored it."

With a final tug, the net unraveled, freeing the girl. She floated up, giving the huntress a puzzled look.

"Go on, we'll take care of this menace," Maddie urged, pulling out her Fenton Boo-staff and charging at Skulker.

"You'll live to regret crossing Skulker: the Ghost Zone's Greatest Hunter!"

"Ha! I doubt that!" Jack taunted, rolling out of an ectoblast-cannon's blast, only to be thrown off his feet from a missile impacting the ground not too far from him. "Oomph!"

"You back off you odd manifestation of ectoplasmic energy and post-human consciousness!" Maddie screeched out as she led her assault on the ghost.

Skulker himself was getting irritated. "Back off woman! My quarrel is with neither you nor your mate." With a well-timed backhand, Skulker swatted the huntress away.

"Maddie!"

Skulker whirled to prepare a shot, only to be blasted in the face.

The ghost girl floated nearby, her hands aglow with ecto-energy. "Leave them alone!" She yelled out, shooting again.

"You're just as annoying as the Whelp himself!" Skulker seethed, his jetpack and took off after the girl. He didn't get too far as Jack, who had whipped out the Fenton Fisher and managed to hook the ghost under the nose and yanked the head off the robot suit. The head and body both crashed to the ground.

The Fenton patriarch let out a whoop, running up to the suit and giving a victory pose on top the robot body. "Aha! Nobody messes with Jack Fenton's family and get away with it!" Jack crowed.

Just then a green blob popped out of the head and darted off.

"Jack, it's getting away!"

Jack glanced at the direction where the ghost fled, then huffed. "Eh, we'll get him later." He then turned his attention to the floating girl. "You okay kiddo?"

The ghost girl nodded, giving a small, polite smile.

"Thank you for your help," Maddie said, coming to stand by her husband.

"Well you helped me, so it was only fair," the girl shrugged, as if it was no big deal.

"I do have a question. Are you familiar with Danny Phantom?"

The girl perked up at the mention of their son's ghostly ID. "Oh yeah, he's my… cousin." The girl hedged, floating a bit higher.

"Your cousin?"

"Yep! I'm Dani -with an 'i'- Phantom."

Cousin? Both Jack and Maddie glanced at each other in confusion. Neither knew any relations that were around Danny's age that shared a similar name. And Maddie had her doubts about the 'cousin' claim, as the girl looked more like a twin than anything.

Something wasn't adding up and Maddie wanted to find out what. Now how to-

"I didn't know any cousins that shared Danny-boy's name." Jack stated, surprise written on his face.

"Wait, you know?" The girl- Dani questioned, her surprise clear on her face.

"That our son is Phantom? Yes." Maddie said. While wanting to be tactful about approaching the subject, she figured that a direct approach may be best.

"Oh."

The two Fentons and Dani both talked, the girl keeping a safe distance from the hunters. Both parents were curious as to who Dani was. The ghost girl was skittish at first, but soon relaxed and agreed to come with them and explain herself with Danny's friends and sister in the room. It figures that Danny's friends knew about Dani, though the ghost girl wasn't sure if Jazz knew about her.

The drive back to Amity was mostly in silence, the radio playing softly in the background and an occasional question was thrown out. They were only a few miles from town when a peculiar sight was spotted.

"Wait, what's that?" Jack asked, his eyes narrowing at what seemed to be a road block of some sorts. Several white armored vans were parked to the side, with several agents of the familiar, yet disliked, agency flagging down cars coming both in and out of town. "They're doing checks now?"

"What's going on?" Dani asked nervously.

"We're not sure. Should we try to find a way around?"

Maddie was about to respond, but an agent was already walking up to the RV. "I think it's too late for that. Quick Dani-"

The agent rapped his fist on the driver's window. Both Fentons recognized the man as he and his partner had visited their place before. Jack rolled down the glass. "Hey hey, what's happening?" Jack asked in a falsely cheerful tone, a strained grin plastered on his face.

"Mr Fenton," the agent greeted. "We'll be needing to do a check to your vehicle, per protocol."

"Protocol? What protocol?!" Maddie interrogated, not liking where this was heading.

"By the authorization of assistant mayor Hartman, there will be a system of checks and security for any who come or leave the city, along with the requirement of having a written permission by the GIW."

"What?! So you're basically putting the whole town on lockdown?"

"It's for the safety of the people ma'am." The agent grunted out. "Now we'll be checking your RV for anything suspicious or ecto-entities."

A second agent, the partner, rounded to the other side, neither Fenton had noticed his approach. "Hey, I didn't know you had a second daughter."

Both parents turned around to look in the back seat were the ghost girl sat. Now there sat a human girl.

"Are we almost there yet mom?" The girl asked, and Maddie instantly recognized that it was Dani.

"Almost there sweetie. These nice men won't take long." Maddie replied.

Jack, who didn't seem to quite understand what was going on, merely nodded along as the agents conducted their search. Fortunately, the parents had buried the robot suit underneath their supplies. Finding nothing out of the ordinary, the agents waved them off.

Maddie released a breath she didn't realize she was holding.

"Can someone please explain what had just happened?" Jack asked, still gripping the steering wheel tightly.

"I would if I could," Maddie said, glancing at their passenger.

They soon arrived at the house. Deciding to deal with the items in the back later, they entered the house to find Sam, Jazz and Valerie, looking worse for wear, sitting at the kitchen table.

"I smell like I slept in a garbage truck," Jazz grumbled, picking off some trash from her person.

"You? Ow!" Sam grunted, "I think my organs are loose."

"I'm gonna splat that spook! The nerve of her talking like that about Daddy." Valerie seethed, plotting her vengeance against the misery ghost. Valerie had tried to get the upper hand on Spectra, but the she-ghoul had thrown the girl off her game with her taunts and the jabs at her more sensitive points ("That's right little girl, let that frustration drive you! It will be your downfall, like your economic situation.")

'Deep breaths Val. Don't let her get to you.'

"Mom, Dad! What are you doing back here so soon?!" Jazz exclaimed, now noticing their entrance.

"We ran into some trouble. What happened to you three?" Maddie asked.

"A ghost kiss has made all the men in town disappear." Sam explained.

"Val tried ambushing the ghosts while Sam had a plan for going undercover," Jazz said. "However…"

"Little Miss blazing guns got her butt whopped." Sam said.

"Not like you did any better," Valerie griped.

"Can we try my idea now?" Jazz asked. "I've got a plan that could work."

Sam looked like she was about to say something, but was interrupted by Maddie. "Sam, let's hear what Jazz has to say."

"Lay it on us Jazzypants." Jack encouraged.

"It was Kitty's kiss that made the men disappear, right? So if we get her to blow another, and Ember hits that same cord on her guitar, we can reverse the curse and break the spell."

"Yeah, but that's the spell that made the guys disappear. How do we get' em back?" Valerie questioned

Jazz then turned to Maddie. "Mom, weren't you working on a device that alters spectral frequencies and completely reverses their effects?"

Maddie pondered over her daughter's query. "Actually yes, I was. Though I need to make some finishing touches and give it a name-"

"So you'll use the gizmo to reverse the kiss and bring back the guys?" Dani surmised, gaining everyone's attention.

"Dani? What are you doing here?" Val and Sam both questioned, then looked at each other is surprise.

"Wait, who's this? Why's her name Danny? And why does she look like my little brother?!" Jazz questioned, completely stunned by the little Danny look-a-like.

"What, Danny didn't tell-"

"Hey!" The ghost girl cried out. "Do you all want to ask questions, or do you want to kick some butt?"

"Sorry." Jazz looked sheepish before going back to her plan. "So all we have to do is get Kitty to blow another kiss, then aim the Maddie Modulator at Ember's guitar and reverse the kiss at it travels across town."

Maddie, nodding along at Jazz's plan, gushed at the name idea her daughter presented. "Ooh, great name honey!"

"It's a perfect name," Jack said, then sent a flirtatious look to his wife. "Just like you."

"Oh, Jack~"

Sam, not wanting to see the adults make goo goo eyes, then asked "Okay, but how are we going to get Kitty to blow another kiss?!"

"She'll need to think there are still some males left in town-"

"No need to look any further!" Jack then puffed out his chest. "I'll serve as the distraction while you ladies get the jump on those spooks!"

"Oooh, I can help too! Nobody knows about me and I look a lot like Danny!" Dani said, smirking at the upcoming confusion she'll be causing.

"Let's show those ghosts a thing or two," Maddie stated, then made a face after getting a whiff of Jazz, "after a shower."

"Gee, thanks Mom."

"Give me a 'NO'!"

"Give me a 'MEN'!"

"What does that spell?"

"NO MEN!"

Overlooking the crowd of hypnotized women, Jazz and Maddie are perched on a nearby building. "Ghost Getters numbers 6 and 7 are in position and 3 and 4 are on standby. Ghost Getter number 5, let's go."

"Why am I number 5?" Maddie questioned.

"Man, we should have done this sooner!" Ember commented.

Kitty was about to comment when a small boy darted between the trio of ghosts. "Can't catch me!"

Then, to their shock, the hulking figure of Jack Fenton came and snatched the small figure up. "Gotta son!"

"WHA- what are you doing?!" Kitty shrieked.

"Uh, spending quality time here with my kid?" Jack stated like it was obvious. He then set the child, who looked startlingly like a certain ghost boy, onto the ground. "How about you come get some burgers with your old man?"

"Yes!" The kid beamed, "I'll take three jumbo meals, two baskets of onion rings and a large milkshake!" The kid then scampered off.

Jack stared in surprise, then got misty eyed. "She has to be a Fenton; got the appetite and everything!" He whispered to himself, then said out loud, "Wait up for me!"

"Did I see-"

"Since when did the dipstick have a little brother?" Ember questioned.

"Forget about the brat!" Spectra hissed. "I thought your kiss eliminated all the men."

Kitty got defensive as Spectra's implied blame. "I only blew the kiss at Johnny. It's her guitar."

"Hey!" The rocker protested

"Kitty, blow another kiss." Spectra ordered. "And this time, get it right."

Kitty nodded, then turned to Ember. "Better amp it up again in case there's any other men you missed."

Kitty blows a kiss towards Ember's guitar. Just before it hits ember strums and pushes the kiss forward, the energy of the guitar amplifying the effects like before.

"Now!" Jazz called out."

Maddie activated the device, which sends out the reversing energy waves. "Time to dish out some justice!"

The Maddie Modulator did its job, returning all the missing males to the right dimension of existence. Tucker, blinking the stars from his eyes, found himself in the park with all the females wielding different objects like weapons.

"Uhhh. Why are all these women armed?" He heard Dash questioned, sounding just as nervous as Tucker felt.

"What's happening? I see...boys!" Kitty spluttered.

Sam then strode up front and center, taking out the Fenton Peeler and activating the suit. Jazz and Maddie both flanked her while Valerie came in on her hoverboard.

"Surprise!" Val snarked.

Spectra, while she didn't show it outwardly, was livid. "We've been tricked! Kitty, another kiss."

Before Kitty could blow the kiss, she was then blasted from behind. The other two whip around to see Jack and Dani there.

"You're going down spooks!" The man declared as Dani morphed.

"WHA, you're a girl?!" Ember exclaimed.

"Yep! Joke's on you sucka!" Dani yelled out, launching her attack with the others charging in.

Jack was about to take a shot at Kitty again when he's tackled by a black blur of hissyness. Tumbling, the man then spots the unwelcome sight of Jazz's ex. "You!"

"Yep!" Johnny replied, his shadow rising up behind him and growling at the man. "And I don't appreciate anyone laying a hand on my gal, Pops."

"My name's not POPS!" Jack yelled, charging at the ghosts with the intent of brawling.

The shadow, grinning maliciously, pounced at the man, but then let out a surprised yelp as it was sucked into the Thermos wielded by Tucker.

"Seriously? Again?!" Johnny complained.

"Dude, do I really need to answer that? Besides, you have bigger problems." Tucker said pointing at Jack Fenton.

"Oh crud." Johnny said before a fist flew into his face. After a few exchanged blows, the greasy haired ghost was sent tumbling towards his girlfriend.

"Johnny! What are you doing?!" Kitty questioned.

"Defending you of course! No one messes with my girl and gets away with it!"

"Aww, Johnny~" Kitty cooed. Before either ghost could do anything else, they were trapped by Sam and Tucker.

"Get a room you two," Sam commented.

When the ghosts were subdued, the group then returned to FentonWorks, ordering pizza as each told their side of the day's events and the young ghost girl explained her origins.

"I can't believe what that lying, no good, rotten piece of cheese tried to do to my babies." Maddie seethed, feeling horror and anger at Vlad.

"I'm still processing the fact that Danny has a clone," Jazz muttered, looking like she was having a migraine.

"I'm happy that I finally have a kid that has the Fenton appetite!" Jack stated happily. Everyone stopped eating to look at Jack. "What? She's got Fenton DNA, so she's family."

"Really?" Dani asked, feeling warm and fuzzy inside, only to then look down, "Even if I'm a mistake and a copy of your son made by Vlad?"

She had barely finished the sentence when the sound of a chair screeched across the floor, followed by a large hand falling on her shoulder. "It doesn't matter how you came to be, or whatnot. You're you, not a copy." Jack's gentle eyes peered into her's. "And you're no mistake. I see a great kid."

"Really?"

"Really." Jack smiled, then a cold look crossed his face. "Masters was the one in the wrong."

"You're welcome to stay here with us." Maddie said. "If you want to, you can be a part of this family."

"I always wanted a sister," Jazz added bemusedly.

"I hate to be the one to ruin the family moment," Sam said, "but what about the GIW?"

"Yeah, this is starting to get worse," Tucker commented, with Valerie nodding in agreement.

Maddie let out a sigh. "I honestly don't know, but we'll figure something out."

Earth 16

Happy Harbor

~a week later

Nightwing, having arrived into Mount Justice via the forested entrance, strode down the base's halls. To those who weren't in the know, it would look like the vigilante was alone.

"So, excited to meet the others?" The elder hero asked softly to the invisible teen next to him.

There was a brief silence before the young hero answered. "Uh, yeah." Dick frowned slightly at the hesitancy in those two words alone. "I mean- It'll be cool to be on a team with others instead of being alone- well, not alone alone. I had Sam and Tucker to back me up, but they didn't have training, powers or stuff like that to be on the frontlines. NOTthatTheyWeren'tHelpfulThey'reTheBestFriendsICouldEverAskFor!… I'm rambling, aren't I?"

"A bit, but it's okay. Do you want to share what's making you nervous? I would like to help you lose the 'con' to your 'cern'."

Another moment of silence. "I dunno. I guess I- er, well…" a deep breath, "…I've never been the most popular guy, and that was before I had gotten powers." Though the young man couldn't see the teen, he had the feeling that Danny was rubbing the back of his neck. "I guess I'm worried that I won't fit in here, if that makes any sense."

"Hey, we got a green-skinned kid, aliens, a sentient robot ball from space and guys that can talk and eat at the speed of light. You'll fit right in."

"…Thanks Dick." Nightwing could feel the smile in his words. "Soooo, why am I sneaking in like this?"

The Gothamite hero gave a devious smirk. "Batman has a flair for dramatics."

"Ah, that makes sense! 'I'm terror. I'm the night. I'm Batman and I must always make overdramatic entrances!'"

Dick silently chuckled as the teen continued his impersonation of the Dark Knight until they came to the mission room. The team and some of the mentors stood in a loose semi-circle, with Batman and Canary in the center.

"Show time." Was the utterance before Nightwing felt the teen leaving his side. He went to stand by Batgirl and Robin, who had an expectant look on his face. The Leaguers (minus Batman) and the protégés of Superman all bore similar expressions to Robin.

"-would like to congratulate you all on a job well done. With that aside, and you've probably guessed from the presence of your mentors, we have an announcement. As you all may be aware, AMAZO was neutralized by an unknown a few weeks ago, with no information as to what or who they may be until a week ago."

"So who is it then?" Mal Duncan questioned.

Batman then took over from Black Canary. "The youth that had been first spotted in Star City goes by the name Phantom. He originates from an entirely different dimension to our own."

"Another dimension?" Wonder Girl raised an eyebrow.

"He's a young hero and was on a mission of his own when he was sent to our dimension. At this time, the League is working on a way to send him home, but it will take an undetermined amount of time to find a safe method as Inter-dimensional travel can be hazardous. Until then, he'll be staying here."

"Woah! A new teammate?"/"That's so CRASH!" Both Beast Boy and Impulse blurted out at once, their statements being heard over the lower chatter of the team.

"So where is our guest then?"

"Oh, just hanging out." Most of the room jumped in surprise, save the mentors, the Bats and the Supers. Appearing to the visible spectrum, Phantom floated above Batman and Canary, in a position like if he was in a chair; one leg over a knee bouncing softly and his arms folded behind his head. The teen had his eyes closed, but popped one open to give a cheeky look at the people below.

Nightwing studied the youth, who was now clad in the new suit. Lucius Fox and Zatanna had both worked on the youth's suit, as Phantom's power set were supernatural-based.

Appearance-wise, it looked the same as the hazmat (Danny felt no need to change his look), but armored and with extras. One, it was infused with the same properties as the hazmat, so this one had the self repair function. The second notable feature was that the teen now had a utility belt.

Danny was so excited for the belt and what was stored into it: smoke bombs, grapple-line, handcuffs… standard equipment of course, as he shouldn't fully rely on his powers. The surprise came when the teen apparently had knowledge on how to use some of the equipment. Thus demonstrated with the grappling line, the teen cackling with glee as he swung through the Batcave and landed with an acceptable stance.

He also had a hologlove as well, with Tim offering to show his how to use it.

The third feature came in when it was discovered that Danny couldn't maintain his form while unconscious or drained of power. That could prove to be dangerous for a secret identity. The solution for that one was trickier, but eventually doable. Basically, if the teen encountered a scenario like the ones mentioned, then he could switch to 'Stealth mode'. The uniform would remain on him as he reverted, but the white parts would change to black edged with blue, and a hood with a mask would cover his head and eyes. This mode could also be accessed at will as well.

Batman really liked to cover all his bases.

After making a beckoning motion to the floating ghost boy to come down, Black Canary then spoke once more. "This is Phantom. Phantom, this is the team of protégés of the League."

Phantom gave a small, nervous smile accompanied with a wave. "Um, hi."

Predictably, Garfield was the first one to greet Danny, the boy bounding up to the teenager in enthusiasm, followed immediately by Impulse and Miss Martian.

Yeah, Danny would fit right in.

"The League should have been on trial in Rimbor by now! How are we going to proceed with the plan?"

"Relax Black Manta, this is merely a delay."

"On a different note, I have someone who's interested in aiding our cause."

"Please continue Luthor."

…~~~oOo~~~…

Phew! I hope you enjoy this chapter.

I'm glad that so far people are enjoying this fic, especially the part about the betting that Danny will be adopted by the Bats.

Danny: If I had a dollar for every time a billionaire tried to adopt me, I'd have two dollars.

The League: ?

Danny: I know, it isn't very much. But it's weird that it's happened twice.

Dp-Marvel94: I'm glad that you were amused by Danny not knowing Superman's an alien. I thought it was something that Danny would do and it was hilarious.

jh831: HA, "I'm in D.C." So funny! I sort have forgotten that, thanks for the reminder.

Danny didn't stay specifically for the bats. It was because 1) he had more information on the heroes and felt more inclined to give some trust and 2) they were the first ones he ran into at the time.

And don't worry about secrets. Danny will be keeping stuff close to his vest… at this point, I'm not exactly certain if they know if he's half-ghost or not.

Kid Flash: wait, you're a ghost?!

Supes, at the implications: 😢

Danny: only half, but I got better! 😄

We'll see.

Weshney: Oooh! I did NOT think about that when I had wrote the hydrant scene!

Thank you for your comments and ideas. I do enjoy reading them and I do consider them. Like the idea of pairing Queen Bee and Vlad. On the upside, they may be so involved with each other they give up villainy. On the downside:

Vlad: Love was just a crazy dream, now it's my new evil scheme!🎵

Queen Bee: And I'm as happy as can be~🎶

Both: 🎵It's the age old story how an evil boy meets an evil girl🎶 -

Every time I think of Bad guy couples, I get THIS song stuck in my head!

Have a good one!
