Jason's fear

Jason and Piper ran out of cabin three and into Jason's cabin. Both of them were sweaty and red from just having to fight their way out. Honestly, nothing was more terrifying than have both Percy and Annabeth trying to kill you. It seemed after Tartarus, they had grown so much more determined and well-synced as a couple.

Piper was sore from having to hop and block attacks from Annabeth. Jason had seen their fight in glimpses while he was fighting Percy, Annabeth was nothing short of vicious.

Percy had actually given Jason a run for his money, even though he was the better trained one, Percy seemed to be extremely talented. Jason had nearly gotten his sword knocked out of his hand when Percy did some disarming maneuver that Jason was not expecting. He was trying to use the flat of his blade to disarm him, which was something Jason was not counting on. Percy nearly pulled it off too.

Both demigods burst through the door of cabin one and fell on the floor in front of the Zeus statue. Jason's face was red and sweat ran down his cheeks. Piper was no better.

Jason laid on his back, "That was a horrible idea."

Piper lifted her head, "I didn't think they'd come back."

The original plan was that Jason and Piper were going to sneak into Percy's cabin, then they were going to find his trident and hold it for ransom. They couldn't take Riptide because Percy had that sword on him at all times.

The plan was going well until the son of Poseidon and the demigod version of Athena herself walked in. If Jason or Piper were alone, they wouldn't have made it out alive. They didn't even come back with anything to show for their troubles.

Piper got up, nearly falling from exhaustion, "Come on, do you have a spare bed?"

"Yeah, of course." Jason said from the floor.

"You gonna sleep on the floor?" She asked.

Jason rubbed the floor, "It's nice down here, bring me my pillow would you?"

Piper laughed, "Jason, get up, come on."

"No."

"Come on!"

"Noooo." Jason whined.

"Oh my gods," Piper exclaimed, "Quit being such a baby and get up!"

"Fine!" Jason said, getting up but not looking happy about it. He leaned in and kissed Piper's cheek before walking up the stairs to his room. "Take any room you want!" He called.

"Goodnight!" Piper called back.

Jason didn't bother with brushing his teeth. He was so exhausted that brushing his teeth could wait until tomorrow. He opened the door to his room and walked straight to his bed where he collapsed. His eyes drooped before fading to black.

A loud bang woke Jason up. He got up and looked around his room. His posters were plastered where they normally would be, his TV was off, and his room was relatively clean. The only thing off was that his gold coin was extended into a sword on his desk.

He climbed out of bed and walked over to his desk. The lights were dimmed, which made Jason want to climb back into bed. Piper must've come in and dimmed the lights. The sword glowed on the desk.

Jason reached down and picked his sword up. He nearly dropped it. There was no way his sword was this heavy. Either way, he heaved it and walked out of his room. Something was definitely up when he saw the rest of his cabin. His cabin was dark, and it was never dark.

The silence was almost painful. Jason felt like he was in those soundproof rooms that drove people insane if they stayed in them for too long. He walked down the stairs, his footsteps sounding like fireworks.

"Hello?" Jason called.

Something moved in the darkness. The golden light from his sword barely revealed anything two feet in front of him. Camp Half-blood never worried about power outages so he had no idea what was going on.

Just as Jason reached the bottom of the stairs, he heard the sound of a sword being drawn from its sheath from behind him. Jason spun around to see Percy Jackson, but there was something wrong. This Percy wasn't the same Percy that Jason was friends with. This Percy's eyes were dangerous and full of mischief. His mouth was twisted into a wolfish smile. Percy had Riptide drawn.

"Percy…what the hell?" Jason asked.

"You think I'd let you go that easily?" Percy asked. His voice even sounded evil.

"Wait—" Jason wasn't able to finish as Percy slashed at him.

Jason blocked Percy's strike just in time. This time, fighting Percy felt like fighting a Titan. His forearm felt heavy as he resisted against Percy. Percy's blade looked so much scarier. It looked like the Grim Reaper's scythe, not Riptide.

A few more strikes from Percy and Jason was full blown panicking. It felt like he was drowning. He turned on his heels, very un-Jason like, and ran. He ran towards his cabin's door. Maybe if he got out, Chiron or someone would come help him deal with homicidal Percy.

Jason's hand touched the door, but before he could open it, the door flew open. Jason fell on his butt, his sword clattering to his side. The moonlight revealed the silhouette of a girl in the doorway. Then she walked in.

Annabeth was wearing the same evil terrifying smile that Percy was wearing. Then Jason noticed she was holding a dagger, Piper's dagger.

"W-where's Piper?" Jason asked. He could hear the fear in his voice.

"Oh, let's just say, she's 'busy' right now." Annabeth said.

"No…" Jason said.

Annabeth looked up and grinned. Jason looked behind him to see Percy was literally right behind him. Jason couldn't stop the scream from tearing out of his mouth. He spun on his butt and started backing away from both of the scary demigods.

"What's wrong, Jason?" Percy asked.

"Scared?" Annabeth said.

Jason looked for his sword, but it was out of sight now. Percy's blade didn't look any friendlier and Annabeth was patting her boyfriend on the back.

"Looking for this?" Percy asked, turning around and picking up something. He turned around and sure enough, there was Jason's lightning bolt.

"My bolt." Jason said.

"You should've really tried harder." Percy said. He turned to Annabeth and said, "Together?"

"Together." Annabeth said, closing the distance between her and Percy. Both of them gripped the bolt and aimed it at Jason.

"Wait, no, let's talk about this!" Jason begged.

"You really should've woke up, Jason." Percy said.

"Yeah, wake up." Annabeth laughed.

"Wait!"

The lightning bolt flashed, and all Jason could do was scream.

A slap flew across Jason's face.

"Wake up, Jason!" Piper's voice shouted.

Jason sat up and looked around, reaching in his pocket for his coin. He turned and saw Piper giggling at him. Her dagger was strapped to her side, like it always was. His room was lit up like always. He looked out the window and saw it was still dark out.

"What happened?" Jason asked.

"You tell me." Piper said, "I heard you screaming and I thought you were getting murdered!"

Jason sighed and put his hand over his eyes. The bed was soft and reassuring, a far cry from his cold nightmare. He tried to make sure it was just a nightmare. He took his hand down, expecting to see Percy and Annabeth there, but instead, Piper was still there. She raised her eyebrows.

"It's nothing, Pipes, just a nightmare." He said.

"About what?" Piper asked.

"I-I thought Percy and Annabeth were here and they were trying to kill me. Annabeth killed you and had your dagger." Jason explained.

"Wow, this bolt hunt is really getting to you, huh?" Piper said.

"Yeah." Jason sighed, "Percy would never do that."

"Neither would Annabeth. You're just scaring yourself." Piper said.

Jason looked out the window. He needed to go back to sleep but for once, he was too scared to sleep.

"Listen, can you uh, stay with me?" Jason asked, blushing.

Piper smiled, "Sure. Your room is nicer than the spare ones anyways." She sat down next to him, "You should really talk things out with Percy when you get the chance though, I mean, there's gotta be something else we can do other than fight."

"I'll try." Jason said as he laid down.

"Well, sweet dreams then." Piper said, standing guard to make sure Jason didn't have another nightmare.
